Can't boot into recovery - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

My phone is unlocked and I had installed TWRP. I restored from previous backup because I was not satisfied with latest global developer ROM. after restoring I am not able to reboot into recovery. when I boot into recovery, my phone starts normally without going into recovery. i tried flashing twrp again and it works only once. phone boots normally without going into recovery. i have to flash twrp everytime i need to use recovery. any solutions?

Do you confirm the thing TWRP asks you on first boot (something about allowing system modifications or what)? Otherwise system may remove it on boot. Do you use command 'fastboot boot 'recoveryname'' after flashing (I don't know why is it necessary, but it's in every guide for R3S)?
Send from my Redmi 3S

Make sure 'OEM unlocking' is checked in developers mode.

Pwr + vol+ + vol- until it vibrates, then release pwr, but keep both vol-keys pressed.

Another option is adb: Use "adb reboot recovery". If you don't know how, ask me!

Stuck at the boot logo screen after flashing paranoid android rom

Hi all, I've just flashed latest paranoid custom rom from there official website, using all the neccessary instructions. My phone was rooted, I even made a backup using titanium backup application.
But after flashing it, I'm stuck at the boot logo screen. I can't even go to recovery mode except fastboot mode.
I tried to boot into recovery mode by using command:
fastboot boot twrp.img
or
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
but I'm getting remote device locked message. After I tried to unlock by using command:
fastboot unlock oem
I'm getting unlock lock is disabled message. By going through online I read that I need to enable developer options for this, but as my device is stuck on boot screen, how I would do that?
Flash Hybrid recovery from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-2/general/recovery-twrp-3-0-2-hybrid-supports-oos-t3362904
Then install http://get.aospa.co/official/oneplus2
After that install Gapps. It will work..
If you have any problems in Root, TWRP, Unlock bootloader visit this site https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...-custom-recovery-root-efs-backup-more.345478/
---------- Post added at 10:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:13 PM ----------
And try this https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ck-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-2.347607/
It will replace your recovery to Default then you install OOS, after that you can change in Developer Options. Use Method 1
Same there
Same problem there. After Flash Oxygen 3.0.2 . Phone Stuck at boot and cant do anything. Cant Flash recovery. Bootloader Locked . When i tried to unlock using commands at adb and phone reboot still stuck at boot ONE PLUS SYMBOL, POWERED BY ANDROID and unlock not works.

how do you update over fastboot ?? don't we need stock recovery for that ?
no, you need to first install (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=48915118#post48915118)
Now turn off your phone and hold volume up at the same time you press the power button (with the usb cable in)
To check if the device is detected, run cmd and run "fastboot", lots of text should appear if nothing does reinstall or reboot. To check for devices do "fastboot devices"
---------- Post added at 02:45 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:43 PM ----------
this is for recovery
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
(recovery needs to be in your username drive (Windows 7-10 for example for me it is C:\users\gaming)

Download the TWRP image for your phone from the official website.
keep the file in the adb/fastboot folder, rename to twrp.img
connect phone in fastboot mode.
open cmd window in fastboot folder and type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
Unplug cable.
To get into recovery, hold power button and vol down button together until it boots into twrp. And then you can wipe and flash PA again. If you lose recovery another time, repeat the steps.

"soft-brick" on Essential Phone PH-1

A while ago, I tried to root my Essential Phone using magisk. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed twrp, but when I tried to install the magisk zip file, it failed, and I was stuck in a bootloop.
Easy problem to solve right? I wiped everything from my phone (including the ROM), downloaded a stock ROM (.ZIP file, and I think that’s what ****ed everything up) and when I tried to install it, it failed once again. Therefore, I downloaded another stock ROM file (this time as a .img file) and tried to installed it.
But what I ended up doing, was installing some other .img file as the boot image (on twrp), and after that, my phone kept restarting endlessly. I couldn’t access the recovery mode (if I tried to press the vol down + start buttons, or just the start button, the process would repeat, so I leaved my phone there until it run out of battery, now its off).
I was despaired and tried to search every inch of the internet for a solution, and obviously, I could not find it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for your attention.
(Im not sure if this is really a soft brick, I named this thread wit my basic knowlage, sorry if Im wrong)
Use
fastboot unlock_critical
Then flash your full stock formware to both slots
You can get in the bootloader right?

From my understanding ... After you get the bootloader unlocked and the critical partition as the poster above stated. Pretty sure, Magisk, when booted into the android OS should be installed.. After that you can patch the boot image(to include root) without root! And then, fastboot flash boot (path/to/boot.img).
For not being able to boot into TWRP .... Did you use the command fastboot boot twrp.img? Or fastboot flash recovery twrp.img ?
If you used the boot command - TWRP will not stick.
If you used the flash command and cannot access TWRP, IDK, you may be on the wrong partition. I personally had a bit of difficulty with there being two partitions. Just made it a bit confusing...
As the above poster asked, .... Are you able to get to the bootloader? If so, I don't think all is lost... I'm thinking you'll just have to do some fastboot commands again, like, fastboot boot TWRP.img . Then you should be able to just press the volume a time or two to boot to recovery. As @BakedTator asked

This is what I got when I tried to use this command
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot unlock_critical
fastboot: usage: unknown command unlock_critical
yesterday I couldn't find a way to access the bootloader, but for some reason when I gave another shot today it worked
going to try flash twrp once again

oh my god Im such a dumbass, sorry
I had this problem tonight also. In my case I suspect it had to do with the install of magisk in which I checked both boxes and patched the bootloader. on reboot I was stuck on boot. Just wanted to add my solution. I got the pie back to stock zip here https://forum.xda-developers.com/essential-phone/development/stock-7-1-1-nmj20d-t3701681 then I put it into the adb folder and ran the flashall.bat script. I tried the no wipe one and it saved my information. very happy I didnt have to resetup my phone in the end.

Please Help ''Your device is booting now'''

Hi
The phone does not turn on in any way. Recovery mode does not turn on.
Stock recovery won't open, I'm flashing TWRP and it gets stuck on TWRP logo. Bootloader and FRP is unlock.
Fastboot mod is working. No matter what I do, the phone didn't boot up normally in recovery mode or not. Please help me.
I've tried multiple versions of TWRP none of them turned on. Erecovery mod won't turn on

Enter fastboot mode and type the following commands "fastboot erase system" and "fastboot erase userdata" I solved the problem in this way.
