S7 edge reboots random - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Questions and Answers

Hello XDA members,
I have some little problems with my Galaxy S7 Edge (SM-G935F) (from the Netherlands)
Sometimes, no matter what time of the day it is. My phone just randomly restarts itself. After the reboot it gets stuck in a boot loop at the Galaxy S7 Edge screen, not booting to the samsung logo.
I have this problem since a couple of weeks now. Sometimes the phone just works fine like a week. And sometimes it reboots itself like 3 or 4 times a day..
If i leave my phone at the galaxy edge screen for a while (like 1 hour), then suddenly it boots to the Android OS (6.0.1).
When the phone is in the reboot loop im able to get in to the download mode. But im not able to get in to the recovery mode.
I already have done a factory reset when i was able to access the recovery menu, and also cleared the cache.
Also tried booting up the phone without sim and sd card. but it still gets stuck.
I think it has something to do with a currupt firmware or a corrupt Android OS.
My phone is not rooted btw.
I have read some articles that u are able to flash a new firmware, bootloader ect. with Odin.
But does this void the warranty of the phone or does it trip the Samsung KNOX?
Because i don't want to void the warranty...
Did some of u guys had this problem too?
Kind Regards,
Toxicz

Why would you leave the edge screen (presume you mean the edge screen as in Apps Edge/Tasks Edge etc) screen open for "like 1 hour"?
What's the point?
If you don't mean the Edge Screen - hard to know what you do mean?
I did some theming once and the Edge Screen kept my device awake even when I wasn't using it. Result - 85 Celsius cpu temperature, almost unholdable device because of heat, lag +++ and 7% per minute battery drain.
No reason at all to have the Edge Screen active for an hour. Use when necessary.

It's not that edge screen.. I'm talking about the boot process when u turn on the Galaxy S7 Edge..
The Galaxy S7 Edge boot image.
I'm unable to post a link with the image because I don't have 10 posts..

Need help getting files off of phone, generally stuck at custom padlock screen.

The other day I was using my att s4 active and it went off on me. I put it in recovery mode and it just keeps going off. I don't know for sure but I vaguely recall installing a custom rom a long time ago. I've replaced the battery and charged it so I'm sure that's not an issue. Occasionally it will come up with an ! saying the software is not for the phone, take it to att. Other times it will boot up and will stay on for like 5 seconds, just enough to pass the lock screen.
Sometimes it sticks on secovery boouing (weird) and yet other times it won't do anything. I'd really like to get my pictures off of the phone.

S7 Edge unresponsive have to force reboot

Hey guys
So every 2-3 weeks while im just normally on apps or scrolling my s7 edge goes black, becomes unresponsive and I have to force restart it. Then it works perfect after that.
Its the exynos version. Can it be fixed with updates etc. Or is there a way I can fix it
Thanks

the screen is flikering

hi guys, need help with following:
sometimes the screen flickers and stop responding overal....when he is in the mood. Sometimes works 2-3 hours with no problem and sometimes I cant use it at all - display is flickering and stop responding and if I lock the screen with power button and push the button again the screen is unfreezing for a while. I have tried everything- reinstal oficial ROM, root the phone and instal some custom ROMs, custom recovery, wipe and clean everything nothing helps. Мy suspicions are that there is some hardware problem and there is no software solution, but if someone has faced such troubles and find a way to resolve them pls share

it probably is a hardware issue, most likely the adreno GPU failing. Youve flashed the tar.md5 stock firmware and its still doing it? If so, its very likely a hardware issue

yep, I've flashed the original tar, also tried with 4 file with pit. Some time the phone starts flickers on the Samsung logo at the beginning, some time passes the logo and initial setup and then starts....maybe your are right, I just love my phone and didn't want to RIP him. The only thing I didn't try is to install something different than Marshmallow and to decrease working frequencies. Can you please tell me if the problem is form GPU is it worth to be fixed?
you could try a new battery , my S3 had screen flickering problems at aprox 30% battery and then freezes and reboot and battery after reboot suddenly 2% and after that screen flicker and no power anymore.
Try reboot with only charger connected and no battery connected
can't do that - the phone cannot be started without battery inside. Furthermore the battery is brand new original and I start using it after the problems started
You can look with phone info app from play store. Look which date the phone was made and when its more then 2 years then its hardware issue. On my display its only flickering on the very lowest brightness levels when i make it brighter the flickering is gone. When your phone is so too then its hardware issue but i will look with another battery from a friend and will report. I think its the display like plasma 1-2 years burn-in.

I had the same problem with screen flickering with my s5 (QCOM variant). It had started after screen replacement in a repair point. It would get the worst when screen brightess was at the minimum level. Sometimes the screen would not wake up, and low temperature/ low battery level made it even worse. The answer to the problem is a defective screen which needs replacing. No other way as far as I know.

I have the Samsung Galaxy S5. I also had the issue of when I had the screen brightness on auto it would flicker or if it was on a low setting it would do the same. If I raised the brightness it would stop. When the battery goes below 8% it starts flickering non-stop and the only way to stop it is to plug it in to an outlet. I took it to Verizon about 6 months ago (about the 2 1/2 year mark when it had been doing it since around 2 years) - of course their immediate answer was to do a factory reset and after that they had no solution (I did NOT do a factory reset). I'm eager to hear if a new battery corrects it or if it is indeed the screen/display. This may be a way to make sure we get a new phone every two years...
my case looks different. The flickering not depend form brightens or remaining charge in battery. Furthermore sometime it stops at all and I can use the phone without any problems for 1 or 2 hours. I did factory reset several time and reinstall software (official and custom). Perhaps there is some hardware issue and a phone upgrade is upcoming.
I tested with a battery from a friend yesterday and its the same. I will do this week a odin stock flash day and then i will see. But i think its the display.

Galaxy Note 4 keeps freezing after 2mins usage, gets in bootloop

Hello, so i've had this Note 4 for about 2 years, i had no problems with it thus far until recently ( 3 hours ago actually) i was just texting and browsing Instagram and out of no where the screen froze, it became unresponsive and the screen went black and started constantly vibrating so i quickly pulled the battery out and put it back in again, tried to start it again and it got stuck on the Samsung logo, i went for recovery mode and tried to look up latest cashe log and it froze right there too and restarted, pulled battery out and in again, tried to get into Recovery mode for a second time and a dm-verity verification failed error on the lower left corner popped up, i selected "Restart phone" and it got stuck on the Samsung logo again, battery in-out, tried to get into Recovery mode for a third time to do a factory reset but this time it got stuck whilst trying to boot onto recovery, and i had to out-in battery again, tried several times to get into recovery and it didn't work, i just gave up and started searching, then after 14 minutes i decide to give it another try and it normally booted up! i inserted in my PIN and browsed the apps for about 2mins but it froze, again, and the whole cycle kept repeating i let it cool down for 15mins and it boots up normally but freezes again after a few minutes of usage, i noticed that it insanely overheats before freezing (especially right above the SIM card area) and the four CPU cores are showing 2469MHz and on 100% (But that's also the case when the phone just boots up right?), Now i basically can't access recovery mode and i'm stuck with a Freeze-Reboot looped and i'm left with no other option but a full Stock ROM flash, the thing is i can't even get into recovery to do a full wipe before flashing in the ROM, can i just flash in again a TWRP recovery? and is there any way to fix this without having to do a full Stock ROM flash (i Tried the wake lock app it didn't work) and i'm on Android 5.0.1, this has JUST happened today and never before. i'm hoping this isn't a hardware issue.
UPDATE: i have just noticed something rather interesting, the phone immediately freezes and goes nuts with the reboots and failed recovery modes instantly after i connect it to a wifi network, and exactly when it's attempting to "send report", a sending report sign shows up in the notification bar and it immediately screws up the phone until i do another Factory reset, i just did another one without connecting to a wifi network and i've already gone 40mins with it without any issues but perhaps it's just because it's not on heavy usage?
Sounds like you have the eMMC issue.
You can try and reflash with Odin. Get the right version from Sammobile.
Do yu get to download mode in any of the scenarios you describe?
Try WakeLock again and select the level to 4
Having the same issue
I'm having the same issue and don't have any idea how to help, just hoping someone out there knows...:crying:

If you have the Snapdragon version - it's highly possible to have the emmc problem. Which is a bummer and the phone is like dead.
Unless you can buy another 910C motherboard and swap it.
Sorry.
What is short name for emmc?

Just been having a very similar problem. I posted this elsewhere, but it may be helpful:
"My issue was that I needed to recover data, docs, photos, phone numbers etc. When boot looping the note 4 got very hot . In particular around and to the left of the camera (looking at the rear). Thinking it could possibly be the dreaded eMMC problem which also manifests itself by creating heat, I thought cooling the device might help. I placed the Note on a cooler box freezing block and voilà! No boot loop. I was able to remove all, but necessary apps and do a full copy to my PC. Storage was reduced from around 90% to 50% and memory 80% to 60%. It's now been stable for 12 hours, but the jury is still out. Next will be full reset with he latest available firmware 6.0.1 as mine was still on 5.1.1."
Also now downloaded a eMMC bug check that says my eMMC chip is 'sane'. Guess we'll see
