Samsung s4 is this high temperature normal? - Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I own a samsung s4 I9505 running lollipop and I think I have temperature issues. I live in Australia with ambient temperatures reaching 30 to 33 degrees on average. My phone can get pretty warm from normal use. The cpu is at 50 to 55 degrees Celsius on normal use and 33 to 40 on idle. The battery can go as low as 28 on idle and 36 on normal use. The phone feels warm to the touch and sometimes uncomfortable. Since getting lollipop it feels cooler for longer but I want to know if this is normal or not considering I'm in Australia. Everything on my device is offical.

Given the ambient temperature, i say it's normal. A protective case should help keep it 2 - 3 degrees cooler as it will stand between your hand and the back of the phone. Hard plastic recommended.

HD2froyo v2.1 - battery at 117 degrees f at idle

Not sure what is causing it but the battery is suddenly reporting 117 degrees F for the battery which is quite hot when in my pocket and the battery seems to drain almost instantly, but nothing is reporting CPU usage. Opinions?
I don't know, but the fact , that i have seen on my friend's original android phone batterry temperature of 5 degrees celsius tells you everything. It doesn't measure it accuratelly. Not att all. How can a battery be cooler than, lets say, body temperature, or so.... So that is the answer.
Yeah, but he also said that he can feel it in his pocket. Obviously thats WAY to hot and probably not super safe. If i were you i'd shut it down with the battery out for about ten minutes and re-run Android.

What is your battery temperature?

Hi guys, recently picked up a galaxy s5, and noticed it gets extremely hot.
Now I'm well aware smart phone get hot, especially when running intensive apps, but the s5 seems unusually hot. Also when I went into settings - display - brightness I get a message saying unable to increase brightness further this device is overheating
I've downloaded this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mtorres.phonetester to monitor battery temperatures.
Can anyone comment on whether their phone runs hot, and ideally let me know battery temperatures please.
Thanks
Yes, mine does (an Exynos variant), and the maximum EVER it has gone is 40 deg Celsius, with the current latest update. But with the previous update, everything worked fine. Maybe we should wait for a fix. Don't worry much, everything will be alright.
Driving using GPS (waze) + Sunny time + Charging and I think I had 45 or something, maybe 46 but thats about it.
gets to around 40 to 45 degrees celsius while gaming

That is normal . depending on your region temperature...
I live in South Africa where in the summer it gets very hot 30 degrees plus...MY phone will be 32 when idle...It never goes higher than 38 degrees though.
Now its winter in my country.Outside temp is 15-25 and my phone will be 20(idle)-30(usage after 1hr of use)
If you have custom kernel installed it may be due to you disabling DVFS

Plastic is a terrible heatsink. It doesn't hold off external heat and it has serious issues draining heat. Particularly when there is something on the other side of the plastic (hand, leg, coat, etc.)
Anything below 1ºC and above 45ºC (Idle) and you need to start worrying.
It's 24ºC right now, and mine's been idling at 26ºC on the desk (inside an otterbox commuter) for a couple of hours.

Is My LG G2 Getting Too Hot?

So I have a verizon lg g2 vs980 and it has a custom rom on it the cyanogenmod 11. I have a monitoring program and the battery gets to 36 degrees celcius sometimes. Mostly it hovers around 30 plus or minus 2 degrees. Then the CPU runs at about 50 plus or minus 5 degrees (many times more near 45 degrees sometimes). This phone in terms of how it feels while holding it SEEMS hotter than when I had the stock lg ROM on. That said the battery seems to drain about normal, but IS THIS TEMPERATURE NORMAL? Thanks guys.

How hot is your galaxy S7 edge

Hi
So I bought my GS7E a week ago .. I started to notice that it heats so much when I use it
I just don't know if this is the normal heat for it or not so I wanted to know from your experience
so at normal base when I'm not using it it stays at 34-35C
When I use it for whatsapp, facebook an normal light use it goes up to 37C
when I charge it it goes up to 40C
and sometimes when it's in the car on in my pocket and nothing is running in the background it can go to 40C too
that makes it annoying to receive calls or to hold it and put it next on my ear
are these temperatures OK? or is there is something with my device ... what are your numbers
Oh that seems in my opinion to be too hot, Mine is in Idle at 28°-29°, when i Use it (WhatsApp, Facebook... etc.) at 30°-32° and when i Charge it it is around 33°-35°
According to AIDA64, my phone is currently at 42c whilst charging from flat.
It's certainly warm, but at one point I saw it hit 50c when charging and using the phone at the same time.
what is the temperature when using normally not whilst charging ?
what is version is your CPU ?
I have the Exynos Version
It ranges from 33-37C
I have the Exynos S7 Edge. Mine at normal temperature ranges between 25 and 28 degrees, but can go as low as 22 degrees if not used for a bit (I have Greenify set to close all non-essential apps on sleep). If I'm doing some basic activities like texting, taking a few snaps on the camera or browsing simple web pages, it will go up to between 29 and 33 degrees. If I use it for gaming, depending on the graphics, it will go up to between 34 and 38 degrees. I've never seen it hit 40 degrees, although I reckon if I pushed it with numerous benchmarks or an hour of playing Real Racing 3 it probably would.
Temperature wise, this thing is fantastic, the best phone I've ever owned. Under ten minutes on Minecraft on my old Note 3 and it would be uncomfortable to hold. I've never had that with the S7 Edge, although I can't speak for the Snapdragon variant, which I've heard doesn't handle temperature as well.
