UNABLE to roll back from N to MM - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi all.
I made a huge mistake, upgraded to Android 7 from here, but i'm stuck on version B328.
I unlocked my phone when i was on MM, but i've lost my unlocking code. I'm unable to unlock my phone on Nougat, as my product ID is 12323123 (a fake one), which means i get this error when trying to activate it on Huawei's website:
Code:
Please fill in the correct identification code; Please check whether the product model is entered correctly, if it is multiple IMEI / MEID mobile phone, please use other IMEI or MEID retry
My phone is a VNS-L31 Europe, with Dual Sim
Any idea how to recover the unlocking code, or generate a valid product ID?
Thanks.

It is tutorial here, arround!
< -Used @k1ll3r8e 's toolkit, in dual-sim section, downloaded the L21C432B130.zip firmware, unpacked it to SD Card (dload/update.app).
-Had the phone bootloader unlocked, rooted and on stock MM (L31xxxxb201)
-enabled usb debugging and had the pc authorized
-in Dual-Sim section, Upgrade tab I ticked that I understand warnings, selected VNS-L21, clicked upgrade to Dual-Sim, let it run and do its stuff (watch display as su access needs to be granted there). You know it worked as the warning text about unlocked bootloader is not orange but red.
-once it was complete, phone rebooted, it asked for decryption key, so I let it re-format the storage, but the phone didn't boot afterwards
-Used the vol up/down power to get the eRecovery started updating to L21C432B130 from the SD card. It had failed once on me (but got past 5%), so I restarted the phone and tried again and the flashing completed successfuly
-Done another factory reset
-Phone booted, it shows Model Number as HUAWEI VNS-L21 and build number VNS-L21C432B130
-OTA update got downloaded automatically and installing OK>

For unlocking code contact Huawei! Information you need is on the package of phone (serial number etc.)

Instal B336
It has no bugs and you just have to put the update.app in the dload folder

Root Solution for Honor ShotX/7i

Hey everyone, think its a bit sad that we dont got our own phone section since ShotX/7i and the regular 7 doesnt share the same cpu architecture so forgive me for cluttering down but just wanted to try and help our fellow honor comrades
The files to do this is taken from the chinese huawei forum (http://club.huawei.com/thread-5761110-1-1.html) and thus I take no credit for the files, im merely making a english guide with chinese files to hopefully spur some development.
The root itself was made for Honor 7i which is the asian market version (I believe?) but ShotX is the same phone but for international market (with LTE 800Mhz band, not sure if there are any other differences) and root was performed and confirmed working by me on my ShotX with Lollipop 5.1.1/B130 firmware so no guarantes if it will work on other firmwares. Im also not responsible if you brick your phone or it catches on fire etc.
First you need to unlock your bootloader
and to do so you will first need to turn on the "allow bootloader oem unlock" so enter settings, about phone, and then press build number 10 times to activate "developer mode".
Go back one step into main settings and the open developer settings, find and enable "allow bootloader oem unlock" (if you have fingerprint or any other code activated then it will ask you for that code) and while you are in here make sure to click "enable usb debugging" aswell.
You will also need a bootloader unlock code from huaweis site by filling out the necessary information on this page http://emui.huawei.com/en/plugin.php?id=unlock&mod=detail
Product model: HUAWEI ATH-UL01 (settings->about phone->model number)
Product serial number: EGQ7Nxxxxxxxxxxx (settings->about phone->Status->Serial number)
Product IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx (*#06# IMEI1 or settings->about phone->Status->IMEI1)
Product ID: xxxxxxxx (*#*#1357946#*#*)
So once youve got the code, make sure to write it down on a safe place, next you need adb toolkit. May I recommend Minimal ADB? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2317790
Now when you´ve come this far, remember that as soon as you unlock your bootloader, the phone will factory reset and you will loose any data and settings made unless you make a backup before
Insert usb data cable into pc and phone, open command prompt and be in your adb installation directory.
Start with typing "adb devices" to see if your phone is detected and make sure to check on your phone when it asks for permission that you allow your pc. I was running windows 10 x64 when I rooted my phone and I didnt need any driver but your mileage may vary if on w7 or w8. Remember to use "adb kill-server" if you experience issues when trying to connect phone with adb.
If phone is detected then you should get something like
Code:
EGQ7Nxxxxxxxxxxx device
Then all is good and you can type
adb reboot bootloader
Now to check if phone still is with us you type
fastboot devices and you should see something like
Code:
8b0dd496 fastboot
If you are still with us then type fastboot oem unlock xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx where the xxxx´es represent your bootloader unlock code which you should have retrieved earlier from huaweis site.
To confirm that your bootloader is unlocked, simply type fastboot oem get-bootinfo and you should see
Code:
(bootloader) Bootloader Lock State: UNLOCKED
Congrats! Now youre ready to root the phone
If you recently unlocked bootloader then you need to activate developer settings again and turn on usb debugging aswell.
Download the files below

https://mega.nz/#!9hQi2I7A!JX121sJ2vChMuxrx1puxf-L1rP9LSPaJW-JnqvEAzIg Root
Put the EMUI3.1 Android 5.1 ROOT补丁(不要双清不要解压.zip file somewhere on your phones memory storage where you can find it.
Unzip the 荣耀7i TWRP recovery.zip and open it up and then you press the second button which says TWRP REC and it should flash twrp. Power off phone and then press vol+ and power where you keep pressing vol+ but let go off power as soon as screen is lit and you should be in recovery in a bit. If you still got the default huawei recovery then redo the procedure (I pressed TWRP REC at first but didnt see any twrp installed so I then just pressed REC just to be disapointed again but 3rd time with TWRP REC it worked so not sure what goes on but just so you know if you also fail to get TWRP installed)
Once youre in twrp you will be greeted with chinese again but buttons are located on same spots so just compare it to a english twrp image https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TWRP#/media/File:TWRP_2.7.0.0.png
Just press top left button and select the root file you should have putted on your phone earlier and flash it, when its done just hold the physical power button to reset incase you´re unsure of the reboot button and you should be good to go
Grats on your rooted phone, after some cleanup (possible with root) this phone is flying like never before
Some highly recommended root apps
Rom toolbox lite, so you can flash roms/mods without knowing your way in the chinese twrp and uninstall apps etc
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jrummy.liberty.toolbox&hl=sv
Kernel adiutor, great for getting a bit more performance out of the phone by tweaking cpu and gpu speed
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=sv
And lastly the great snapdragon camera which is pretty fast and nice to use which you need to flash in twrp (or with rom toolbox)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64410821&postcount=44
Its for one+ x but it works as expected for our ShotX/7i aswell (Obvisually dont use this if youre on a regular Honor 7 device since it doesnt have snapdragon processor)
thank you very much , I'll be trying my XShot
Theres a translated twrp now for those that wants

Did you tried russian forums? 4pda or others, often they have good devs there for some devices, which are not supported here on XDA.

Extracting media from a locked Huawei P8 Lite with lost passphrase

Hello all,
I'm in possession of a Huawei P8 Lite of which the owner lost the passphrase. The question is whether the photos on the device can still be recoved. The bootloader of the device is currently locked. Debug mode is not enabled (nor is my computer authorized).
I was hoping that it would be possible to unlock the bootloader (which supposedly does not trigger a factory reset on this model?) - and then install a custom recovery from where I could backup the pictures. In order to unlock the bootloader, I would need IMEI-1 + IMEI-2 and the S/N. I was able to obtain one of the IMEIs by typing *#06# on the emergency call screen. Is there a way to obtain the other codes somehow (perhaps via fastboot)? Once I obtain the necessary information, my assumption is that I would be able to get an unlock code from Huawei after which I can unlock from fastboot. (Or does OEM unlock still need to be enabled from the developer options in Android?)
Edit: seems like the S/N is shown when connecting in fastboot mode and listing "fastboot devices".
Edit2: seems like obtaining the IMEI through the emergency call functionaltiy combined with the S/N is enough: I modified the "Product ID Generator" tool to include the "ALE-L21" model, and now it generates valid Product IDs that can be used on the Huawei website to obtain an unlock code.
Alternatively, I've noticed that there's an "emergency data backup" mode on this model, which I accidentally entered. I was hoping anyone knows more about this mode (note that this is different from the fastboot & rescue mode). I got booted into this mode because somehow the ext4 partition failed to mount during one of the many times I rebooted the phone. This mode also allowed me ADB access - however, this was a rescue OS which did not actually contain the user data. I would like to attempt to boot into this mode again, gain root access via a kernel exploit, and either read out the unlock code from /dev/block/mmcblk0p** or directly copy the media onto an SD card. Does anyone know how to "trigger" booting into this mode? The kernel code for the p8 lite seems to have a flag "CONFIG_FEATURE_HUAWEI_EMERGENCY_DATA" which enables this feature.
Pointers welcome
Note, I'm not desperate to recover the data - but this has become more of a "challenge" I'd like to solve.
Edit: I was able to unlock the bootloader with details obtained from the device. Unlocking the device did not initiate a wipe. Now it comes down to installing a recovery image and pulling the data

If you think about this, you can see how easy it is to unlock a phone (also for bad purposes...)
Agreed, I'm surprised that Huawei didn't force a device wipe before allowing OEM unlock. Especially because you can obtain all the details you need from the phone to obtain an unlock code on the Huawei website.
I indeed ended up installing TWRP and remove the password.key file to remove the lock

Help recovering Soft Bricked M3 BTV-W09?

Could use some help...
Long story short, I've soft bricked my Huawei MediaPad M3 BTV-W09. It's never had the bootloader unlocked.
When powered on, I get the EMUI Huawei eRecovery screen with "Download version and recovery", "Reboot", and "Shutdown". Download connects to wifi, says Getting Package info from server, then Getting Package Info Failed.
Volume down and connect to PC via USB gets me into Fastboot and Rescue Mode, but "PHONE Locked" "FRP Unlock".
While connected to the PC, I can get DC-Unlocker to see the tablet:
Detecting phone :
selection :
manufacturer - Huawei phones
model - Huawei MediaPad M3
Selected Applications port COM5
Selected Diagnostics port COM5
Found Phone : BTV-W09
Model : Huawei phone in fastboot mode
IMEI : 000000000000000
Serial NR. : 28D6R17A21001877
Firmware : BTV-W09C128B351
MEID:a00000557e25fa
FB LockState: LOCKED
USER LockState: LOCKED
locked
Battery state: 5781mv
I'm not sure what Firmware was originally on this tablet when I received it, but pretty sure it was Android 7, EMUI 5. I did attempt to use DC-Pheonix to push a build (I think the BTV-W09C128B351 it's showing now, but not positive) to it, obviously unsuccessful.
I've attempted to use the SD update method (copy update.app and other files to SD \dload dir, Vol - & Vol + & power) with several firmwares from huawai-firmware.com, no luck.
Any suggestions on how to revive my tablet would be appreciated.
TIA,
-Joe

Have you tried the HiSuite computer program? I saw some mention of it in some other posts and finally gave it a whirl. There's a system recovery option in there - I haven't used it myself, just noticed it was there.
Just for context: I've been pouring through this forum and googling everything possible. My tablet's been on BTV-W09C128B350 and I've been looking for a way to update it. There's no "Update" button in my settings. Been trying to use Firmware Finder and downloaded B351, tried the reboot/recovery method but that always failed. and I don't see this "send to updater" after I download a firmware package so that must be old notes. But as soon as I hooked up HiSuite, it recognized that I had an update, and took be straight to B351. Not sure if that's bc I had the Update.app in my dload still, but I'm going to keep exploring that.

HIFI Image Security Verify Error

Hello,
I have a Huawei P8 Lite (ALE-L21) phone with this error: FUNC 8 : HIFI Image, Error 1 Security Verify failed. I think I have tried everything to fix it but had no success, hence why I have decided to create this thread.
As you can figure out, the phone does not turn on, it only shows the huawei logo and shuts down. When pressing VOLUME UP + DOWN and POWER button, it used to show the HIFI image error screen, however when I press the key combination now, it only shows a red screen and turns off. I am able to enter fastboot and rescue mode by holding down the VOLUME DOWN button and plugging in a USB cable to the phone from a computer. Apart from that, I can't do anything else with the phone. (I do not have any software related to the phone installed (HiSuite), no backups, no nothing because the phone actually isn't mine and I have never actually played with it and androids in general.)

I have tried a lot of things to make the phone work again but nothing worked.
Recovery mode using HiSuite - "Your device is not supported for system recovery"
I have tried flashing different ROM's using fastboot - when I try flashing it says "FAILED - command not allowed", which I assume is beacuse the bootloader is locked?
installing a ROM using a SD card (Force update or something) - the red screen shows and the phone shuts down
Huawei Update Extractor - updating specific files e.g. boot.img, still not allowed to flash
TWRP - the same error ( not allowed )
Rollback to the previous versions using fastboot - not allowed
At some point I was able to wipe the cache on the phone, not sure if that matters anyhow.
When I am in the fastboot & rescue mode, there is a text in green saying "Phone LOCKED", which I assume means that the bootloader is locked? So, I was trying to get the bootloader unlocked, however found no success. I have also tried emailing Huawei support to get the bootloader code, however as you may know, they did not want to provide the code.
I was able to extract some information from the phone though, using these commands: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=70483520&postcount=2
To get the bootloader code I have tried:
dc-unlocker - I think you need a working phone and have usb drivers installed for this to work and also I think you have to pay for this service
Kingroot + fastboot - https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/general/alternative-method-unlocking-bootloader-t3799294
Emailing Huawei support for the code - they don't want to provide one
https://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p8/help/bootloader-unlock-unlock-code-huawei-t3792987
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve the problem, or is it unsolvable? I would prefer to do it myself and not send the phone to Huawei or whoever as I would like to spend the least money possible. Also the warranty is long gone, since the phone has been bought in 2015.
Cheers
I have same issue, please anybody help

have you found any solution, i have same problem
Most likely the phone showning this kinds of errors is broken and can not be fixed by simple flashing operations.
