TPU case for Huawei Ascend XT - Huawei Ascend XT Questions & Answers

I was searching for a case on aliexpress and came across a listing for a tpu case for the Huawei Ascend XT. The picture shows a different Huawei phone and the camera cutout is wrong so I messaged the seller and he says the pictures show a different case for a different Huawei phone but he guarantees that the listing is for Ascend XT.
I'd just placed an order. It's only $3.98. Looks like it will take about a month for it to arrive. I will report back when case arrives.
Also, I saw a tempered glass screen protector on Amazon but the cutout on the top looks like it's reversed. Also contacted the seller about this.

beware of seller EZGUARDZ for tempered glass protector. He posted a fake tracking number and never shipped. There are a few cheap tpu cases available on ebay, but i prefer something dual layer for better protection.

Agree so working on it by using cases from other phones. Slight modification needed and I will keep xda posted. We need protective cases and there are none to date.

Returned my unused $20 case to Walmart and waiting for a case from AliExpress. The seller has updated some of the pictures to show cut-outs which look like they match our phone.
When we start receiving them, we should post a picture or two and what we think of the case. Thanks .

DUAL LAYER cases are now for pre order! available on ebay ships from california. they dont ship for at least another month but hey.

Nice but again would be nice to have real pics. The cutouts and button arrangement are wrong so those that order hopefully they will receive the right product!

Just noticed that the pictures try to match our phone, but fail in multiple places including LED.

I think they just didn't have one to take pics of. The description even assured that it is for our phone. I might order one Friday and see what happens.

Not related to cases. But the Seek Thermal camera don't work with this phone. No power draw for micro usb charging port

Another case, pricier but nicer. No actual pics once again!

Mine arrived today. Not as a good of protection as the one from Wal-Mart but for less than $4.00, I'm happy. Good fit as well. The tempered glass screen protector is installed on the phone. Pretty good fitment on the screen protector. Maybe too small by 1 or 2mm.
Edit: Just checked aliexpress and some sellers are selling tpu cases for $2.00.

9000RPM,
Thanks for pics and writeup. For $16 difference are you okay with the AliExpress case? It looks good enough for me - got same one coming. Don't think that $2 case is worth it for me - no black available .

@divineBliss,
Yes, overall I am satisfied with the case. It gives you a little bit of protection but I don't think the phone will survive a long drop. The material is thinner and the overlap is a bit smaller than the walmart one.
As seen in the picture, the back pad is of a different material that offers more grip than the borders around it.

Somewhat off topic.
I found a wireless charging pad on Amazon listed for this phone? Does anyone have a charging pad that can just give this a quick try to see if this phone really can charge wirelessly?

Just confirmed for you that it can't charge wirelessly.

Thank you, I figured as much but it still would have been cool to have some unlisted features.

You might be able to find a wireless charging receiver to stick on the back of the phone and into the USB connector, but kinda kludgie for me and don't know how well they work . I don't like wireless charging due to power loss through heat and heat is not good for the phone/battery.

OEM Fuze screen protector

anyone know where i can get another original screen protector that came in the box? i liked how u couldnt even tell it was on there, and how it was made of a hard, almost, thin glass, type of plastic. Unlike most of the other screen protectors that are thick and bendy.
any ideas? or anywhere that sells ones VERY VERY similar to the original?
thanks!
I've been thinking the same thing, hopefully one of the many guru's here will have an answer!
Me three! Surely someone sells the OEM one. Post, people! Tell us who!
I know the OP asked about the OEM screen protector, but i've been using these on all my portable devices and they are quite literally the best screen protectors i have ever used. When applied correctly there is zero distortion and the screen looks exactly as it is without the protector.
http://www.overlayplus.com/US/dis_product.asp?model=HTC_ProTouch&modeln=Touch%20Pro&prod_type=screen
Its a bit on the pricey side but last night my fuze slipped outta my hand, did a nice midair tumble and slid screen-down across the edge of my desk leg, it only got a slight scratch that i buffed out with plastic polish
I'll be happy to snap some pics if you guys are interested.
I will update that a friend of mine who also owns a Fuze called HTC to ask them if he could purchase another OEM screen protector and the customer service person he spoke with told him they do not sell them separately but that he should check daydeal.com if he wanted the OEM screen protector. So, he took that to mean the ones daydeal.com has for sale for the Fuze are the same ones HTC supplies with the phone.
I cannot confirm this as the one he ordered has not arrived yet but I will try to remember to post here when I hear from him on these.
What about InvisibleShield? Anyone using that one?
http://www.zagg.com/support/whatis.php
These have worked out well for me. The anti-glare ones work very well.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easyfinder/buy-best-at_t-fuze-accessories_3350.htm
I had the invisibleshield one but found that it was too grippy and it wasn't as clear as i hoped it would be. I've got 2 pictures here, you can see the optical clarity in the 2nd picture by comparing the reflection of the cologne bottle in the screen with the actual bottle. The screen protector covers both the screen as well as the buttons.

I found that my invisible shield one has a bit of a orange peel finish on it which i didn't like too much. This one is actually smoother than the screen naked.

Update: He received the screen protectors he ordered from daydeal.com and by the looks of them, they are essentially the same as supplied with the Fuze from the factory. He and I both looked at it and it looks and feels the same. If you like the OEM one, I suggest ordering from daydeal.com if you need a replacement. And no, I'm not affiliated with them. Just passing along the info.

i second the boxwave one. its friggin clear and easy to put on
http://www.boxwave.com/products/cle...h-crystal-screen-protector-at_t-fuze_3350.htm
however, shipping is hella slow
but really nice product
i got the 3 pack and screwed up the first one but totally worth it
I ordered these from daydeal and would NOT state that they are 1:1 compared to the shipped one. HOWEVER, love it. It's a slightly different material (kinda anti glare but the "blur" is fully acceptable for me) and I had some concerns reg. finger friendliness but that's not the case. Stylus operation is easy (by far not so rubbery as the invisible shield). Form, fit and applying was very easy (much easier than the stock one). I bet Martin Shield is the best but I still think money well spent. On top, not so prone to fingerprints as the shipped protector.
good or better than OEM protector
I concur that this screen protector from DayDeal is as good as or better than (in my opinion) the original OEM protector that came with my Fuze.

I ordered only one last week, but I may order a few more just to have them on the ready.

I just bought these, all from ebay, albeit one seller is from Germany. Can't post direct links, search item no's.
Front & Back clear shields: 110980328881
Case until the LG bumper arrives: 230886706340
Cheap front shields (from Germany): 350635518807
Cheap rear shields (Germany): 360513941715
Around £13 all in.
cheers
D.
I tried the full body shield type a few years ago on my HTC Hero. I wasn't a fan of using water to apply them, but they are definitely hard wearing.
Just ordered the cheap shields from Germany. Thanks deksawyer.

Ive seen the slimport connector on amazon for about £23. Its not directly from Amazon though. I may give it a go soon.
Item id?
I've seen docks in america but not here yet. Damn them
I've ordered the XtremeGuard protectors from America, not sure if they are still doing the 70% off code but got 3 (front and back) for about £6-8 delivered.
Not a good option if in a hurry though, they dispatched the next day but will take 2-3 weeks to get here.

For slimport I saw this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Slimport-HDMI-Connect-monitor-projector/dp/B009UZBLSG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1354206124&sr=8-1
I also bought from xtreme guard and concur with the previous post. BUT even though they say it may take up to 29 days, I received mine in 5 days. Not sure if thats always going to be the case though (especially with xmas approaching).
In ordered the best skin ever screen protector from the states. It's the full body version, so front, back and sides and cost £7.20 delivered. It hasn't come yet, so can't comment on the quality, but price is good.

Some details on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2008140&page=6
With the sprintxo code it came to about 15 pounds. They do a front only one too.
Just found this case: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360535014154?var=630071594227
TPU but no S-Line (I hate S-Line). Matte back. Have ordered one.

slimport
Hi, has anyone in the UK found a slimport cable that works? After playing with a nexus 10 and streaming stuff to the TV I'm keen to do it on my nexus 4 so went searching for a slimport cable or a mhl cable. I know not all cables are the same so sought out one that claims to be for the Nexus 4 and ordered this one
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=380558482303 from this ebay seller http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/vhbw24?_trksid=p2047675.l2559
unfortunately it doesn't work. Zip, nada, nothing (other than charging the phone if the charger is connected) so while I seek my money back, can anyone confirm one that does work?
a search using slimport gives just this one on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-SlimP...=US_Video_Cables_Adapters&hash=item1e7664bf40 bit costly, but i'll pay if I need to, and it works.
searching on mhl
finds the one I got and
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iKross-MH...228948?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item416dd01a14
I'm nervous as I've just checked and fpound mhl is a differnet standard to slimport so....probably why neither work
Or there's this one on amazon at 24 quid
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009UZBLSG
Any comfirmation that one of these works would be great. Even better would be a link to a cheaper one that works...but it seems to me slimport is ~25 quid not the #7 quid that MHL cables are
I just checked what I ordered... It works.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009UZBLSG
That one.
cheers honey monster. Reading the slimport thread more fully it has to be that one really...mhl is totally differnt so the ebay items claiming to be 'mhl for nexus 4' are wrong.
right. I'll order one from amazon.
Cheers!
Right before any one says that I'm obviously a dirty hobo I just want to say I work in a newsagents and that this is mainly ink from the papers but check out my sexy white s-line tpu case lol
Any white alternatives that don't get stained so badly?

Bumper arrived, but I think it's a fake.

Hi. I ordered a bumper from an eBay seller. It's arrived and for some reason I think it's a fake. It arrived in an envelope, and feels quite plastic. Is there any real way to determine if it's real or fake? The sellers image was the standard bumper image from the play store but that's pretty much the only picture of the bumper online.

I got mine from the Google Play Store, it looks exactly like yours, yours is an original bumper, not a fake one.
I doesn't look right to me. Especially the usb cutout. Your last picture looks much more sloppy than mine.
If it didn't come in google packaging then it is probably from the same factory as the official ones but not a genuine google case as such
looks legit
compared it to mine (which i don't use) and it looks identical except for the shot of it upside down with the usb side looking frayed. was it used? it's just too wide for me but i like the fact that you can see the back of the device. for now its diztronic tpu for me. how much did you pay?
I paid too much as it was ordered about 2 weeks ago, before anything about the play store ones coming back in to stock was known

it's fake. the replica's have been floating around for the past few weeks and if you ordered it on ebay and the listing didn't state 100% original LG bumper then huge chance its a replica. who cares tho? unless you overpaid of course.

Yeah, I got mine from the playstore and the usb cutout looks different. It's a bigger cutout on yours, mine has a small lip. It would actually make more sense the way yours is cutout though, mine rubs against anything I plug in.
Your usb port looks different than mine.
I think it's safe to assume any bumper outside the play store is fake...
It is real, it matches my official bumper.
Can someone with one from the play store upload a pic of the USB?
Mine is from eBay, however it came unopened in a Google Play box, and looks exactly like that.
Pull the hard plastic ring away from the rubber and see what color it is on the inside. People on the replica pre-order thread are reporting that the fakes are white plastic on the inside and the real ones are grey or black.

Kind of an old thread, but I recently bought a bumper from someone off craigslist before I realized there were fakes out there. However, I think I got lucky. My usb port also looks different with a bigger lip as others have described and I can also confirm that the interior of my plastic is gray. I also noticed after I took off the metallic plastic that the LG logo and some model number info are molded into the black TPU portion of the bumper. Can anyone confirm whether or not the fakes have the LG logo molded in the TPU. I imagine they don't but you never know.
thanks for any help. I would love to know if mine is fake or not. I won't do anything about as it isn't worth the time or money but would be interesting to know if someone went to such efforts to scam me for a few bucks (I only paid 20 and it was supposedly new although the seal at the top of the box had most certainly been opened, which he claimed was only to test it).

No Hard Cases
I've looked and looked and can find no hard cases. Would love a Gumdrop, or UAG, or Ballistic case. I hope one of them does one soon. Until they do we're just stuck with that silly cover.
I would like to find one too. I use my tablet mostly on job sites, so I would like to see something with a little protection. I have considered the HP one, but there is a surprising lack of pictures showing the details of the case.
I think the note is close in size to the nexus tablet, but I don't know how much modding would have to be done for the camera and such to line up.

I got one of these when they were selling for 99p + 99p postage. It's pretty bulky, and the quality isn't amazing, but can't complain for a pound, and the keyboard works pretty well, and is surprisingly decent - proper action on the keys.
Got an official cover too - which I kind of like, but seemed to get a lot more for my money with the keyboard case!
I purchased this case for my TN7
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181299426359
I have a screen protector but don't really like cases or covers that make thin devices fat so I opted for a case to store the device when it's not in use.
It took a while to get here, probably 2-3 weeks from the UK to southeast US.
It can store my accessories like a microusb OTG cable, a short micro+mini usb cables, screen wipe, 4g hotspot, and all of my sd cards + adapters and usb sticks. I would not recommend any wall chargers with this case, I have a relatively flat usb wallcharger and it is just too thick to go in the case with the tablet inside, to the extent I would worry about pressure against the screen.

I should make this clear though, this is a STORING CASE, not a case for usage. The first time I fastened the corners into the rubber strips one of them ripped. The case is a tough material on the outside, similar to a backpack material - but stiffer. I wouldn't rely on this case for anything other than holding my accessories and keeping my tablet safe in a bag while its not in use. That said, if I happened to drop the device in this case, I would not be afraid at all, it seemed cushioned on the inside and stiff on the outside.
I didn't return it despite a piece of it breaking as soon as I received it, all in all I'd say it was a useful addition just because it holds all my android accessories minus a wall charger.
Targus make a nice hard case for tablets. I am using this > ebay.com/itm/360892754658

Many of us have this one and it works very well. only negatives I have is the camera cutout sometimes can be seen in the camera, adds a shadow slightly, but the tablet can be moved to fix that. And I would have loved to see some storage of some type, like a spot for a spare stylus, or a business card, etc.

This is working great for me. I have use of a keyboard and access to the stylus without removing the tablet.
Any body can recommend good case availble in india
I bought a generic Nexus 7 Cover and added a few ports so I could access the charge, HDMI, headphone ports. 1 cutout on the back for the camera too.
It's good for the plane as it also has a stand built in.
No official covers left
Curry's and PC World appear to have sold out of the official cover. I can't find any UK seller with a cover that utilises the slide on the side of the tablet. Anyone else have any luck?

Do you have a link to the particular case you purchased? Also, are the magnets in the right place so that the tablet turns on and off automatically?

I don't have a link sorry. I Australia we have mobile phone kiosks in shopping centres and I just took my tablet in and got the one with the best fit.
The Nexus 7 case fit the best. It was $35 aud
It doesn't have the magnets in it to turn the screen on and off though, which doesn't bother me.
Search the net.
Fintie HP note extreme 7 case.
It's ideal.
I have one and it's perfect.

For anyone in the UK, Sainsburys has bluetooth keyboard cases on sale for £20 (regular £30). I was going to order one over the internet from Ebay for about that same price, but last week I just happened to walk into the local Sainsburys and noticed them for sale. It says for 6"-8" tablets and is black faux leather finish. The bluetooth keyboard can be removed as it is held in place with magnets. The tablet is held with four corner clips attached by elastic strips.
It works great with the Tegra note.
Oh, here's the link to it online. No sale price, so it might just be in-store or select stores where it's on sale:
*sigh* Seems I can't post an actual working link.

P9 Lite Case Review Thread

Hi everybody!
I thought it would be helpful to create a thread where we can share experiences on cases for our P9 Lite.
So feel free to post any experience you made with bought cases
Or... you know... just browse the thread if you seek advice on what to buy and what is worth your money.
To start things off, I received my brand new P9 Lite case from Case-Mate today.
Link: http://www.case-mate.co.uk/case-mate-barely-there-case-for-huawei-p9-lite-in-black.html
(looks a bit cheap on the pics in my opinion because the colors of phone and case do not match. Looks awesome on a black phone though!)
I have a black P9 Lite and ordered a black case (also available transparent I think).
I have to say that this case is really nice! Everything fits like a glove, it is easy to apply to the phone and sits tight.
No rough edges whatsoever. The material is slightly rubbery but not too much so it still can be easily taken out of your pocket.
Power button and Volume buttons are not covered by the case and can be reached just fine. Also the fingerprint sensor is easily accesible.
As it states on the website, the bezel is slightly higher that the screen region which means you can put your phone on the screen without it being scratched (which is awesome )
Overall, it's a nice case that adds nicely to the grip on the P9 Lite. However, as the name already suggests it's a "Barely There" case which means it does not provide full protection. The top and the bottom of the phone are uncovered (only the bezel on the bottom is covered and protected against drops).
Definitely gets a recommendation for the relatively affordable price.

Looks nice but how thick is it?
On the pictures it seems like its kinda bulky... Seems nice for heavy protection though

On the screen? I always apply tempered glass to my screen.
On these pictures you can see the protector that comes with the phone out of the box. Was too unsafe for me though
My case looks almost identical to the Case Mate one shown in the first post, with the same rubbery coating. There are just minor differences:
It doesn't have a case-mate logo printed on it
It cost £0.93 instead of £14.99
It has a seam line in the rubber coating running around the edges of it (see photos in link below)
Ummm that's it
I got it here...
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Rub...32651178757.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.WiTwEk
Available in lots of colours - I got black, which looks great. It's very nice quality, I can't fault it at all.
Delivery direct from China is free, and it took about two weeks to arrive in the UK. I think they offer free delivery to almost everywhere in the world. The price varies by a few pence every day due to exchange rates.
We have the "Accessories" section for this
Wish it was OTG compatible (((
Nice Booklet with touch:

I bought this. Trying it today I can see the top/bottom of the phone protrudes a little, the case doesn't protect those sides of the phone. How different are the expensive ones are to this?
