Partiton Manager/Resizer - Xiaomi Redmi 2 Questions & Answers

Is there any partition manager where I can resize partitions without formatting on Android? I'm using MIUI 8 LP and I need the second partition to use with link2sd

Move data to SD card in CM7

I had repartition my SD card for a while, and I never checked my 512M ext3 partiton since I rarely do anything with it. Recently I mounted it and check, nothing store in it, all app go to .android_secure in my Fat32 partition.
I'm using CM7, is there any extra step to get app install goes to ext3 partition, or I should delete the ext3 and resize fat32 partition ?
Edit: as I search around, CM7 using Froyo App2SD ? Maybe I should install Darktremor App2SD or not ? Is there any extra step to install it on Wildfire
You are right. Flash DTApps2SD.
when I install darktremor, will it move all app to ext3 or I have to do something with it ?
Thanks for your answer, maybe I'll install darktremor app2sd now
I installed DTApp2SD anh successfully moved dalvik-cache to ext partition, but .android_secure still there.
When I run a2sd reinstall, next time the phone will never load, stuck at HBOOT boot screen.

Problem regarding Swap

I'm using Lewa OS v4,
Initially there is a Swapper working, with a swap file on System partition (not more than 32 MB).
But i want to make it some large, i tried Ext 4 partition on SD Card .
I go to the swapper setting and change the mode to sdcard partition ,
It says ' swap open failed '.
I reboot, swapping becomes normal but also that partition mounts at /data/app
That is phone memory is replaced by this partition and the apps which i install in phone memory it install on this partition.
And when i check the storage in " Managing Application " tab in setting it shows the real phone memory with apps installed on ext4 sdcard partition.
Its too messy
And due to this i am having trouble using ext4 sdcard partition swap.
Is this is a problem with GB Roms or only with Lewa rom v4

And why are u using ext4 for swap..ext2/3/4 are for sd-ext only..it should be in linux swap.
And try using swapper 2 which is free at play store..it can create a swap file of 256mb max..

wrong, for android you use ext to make a swap partition

Friend,
Use this menthod for swap in lewa os rom v4:
1.Backup ur currently data in CWM(skip this if u want a fresh install)
2.Backup all ur data in SD(place it somewhare in ur pc)
3.Reboot in CWM>Advance>Partition the SD Card>the ext3>512m>32m
4.Press Enter key.wait till its done.
5.Now u have 512mb EXT partition with 32mb SWAP partition & ur SD is REFORMAT.
6.Copy back all ur data
7.Reboot again in CWM & restore or install fresh rom
8.Go to swap in phone(u know where)and apply SD swap.
DONE
why just dont ask in my thread.....
What it means that 512MB EXT4 partition and 32MB Swap partition?
Actually I don't want partition for App to SD.
And if swap is 32MB then swap file in system partition is more feasible. As i know that phone memory is more faster than sdcard in any case. (Might be I'm wrong)
But in my case it is true, I have class 2 sdcard.

Swapper included in the Rom .
No need of external app.
And capable of making 32MB swap in system partition and 128 MB sdcard file

Have u tried it? Even if u are using cwm to partition your sdcard the third partition for swap will be formatted as linux swap for sure

Depending on the apps you often use & how often those apps swap-out RAM, you might actually experience performance lag. Asides (I insist!), beating your card to death.

SDCARD Second Partition

Hey guys, can somebody help me?
QUESTION: When a sdcard with a second partition is formatted, the second partition is deleted?
I'm asking because after selecting ext3 on Link2SD and rebooting, the app does not recognise the second partition. Has it been deleted after the sd format?
Running Evolution x4.2.0
it depends what program formats it - cwm for example would probably delete all partitions and create and format a new partition
if you just want to format a single partition you would need to do it in mini tool or partition magic for example on a pc
also if you change roms you will have to reinstall all the apps again as the data partition is deleted

Not enough memory to install anything

Hi,
Short / long story:
I have long time unused HTC HD2.
With Android (NexusHD2-KitKat-CM11.0_V4.5.zip is the file which I found in backup, so I assume this is what I install - sorry, it was long time ago.
Some time ago I need microSD card so I took it from my HD2, I did backup only windows FAT32 partition.
Now, I need to run my HD2 , I have install microSD 2 GB (800 MB FAT32 + 1GB Ext4) but is not working correctly.
It starting I can install Teamviewer, but when I need to install HTC module for teamviewer it's telling me that is not enough storage.
Quite often is restarting and after restart not keeping any settings (wi-fi) app installed (teamviewer) it's resetting each time to factory settings.
In Settings - Storage shows 'Total space' - Available 0.00 bytes
I did what is instructed on this webpage but it didn't help http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...mory-in-android-nand-roms-cannot-install-apps
Can anybody advise me which is the easiest way to make my HD2 working properly? Means have enough memory to do anything.
The purpose of restoring my HD2 is working as a router, tethering machine. I need to share internet from mobile network for smart TV and Tablet over wi-fi. It will be unattended so I need remote control access (team viewer host).
I'm open for a suggestion of changing the ROM if there is something reasonable easy and described (as I'm not big ROM expert). i've seen a ROM list for HD2, is too long.
Thanks in advance for your help.
it sounds like you are missing a data partition, perhaps the sdcard you used before had an ext4 partition which your new one does not have. Use recovery, in nand, to create an ext4 partition, then boot into rom, might work.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I did Ext4 by MiniTool Partition under Windows primarily.
And later in recovery, I have setup 1024MB and swap = 0 M.
It didn't help.
Should I mount it or so?
Update:
I have a look in log in nand - recovery and it's says that my second partition is Ext3 not Ext4.
And there is no way to change it.
What is your nand recovery? version?
Clk or magldr?
The recovery might say ext3 when it means ext4, but it does not seem right.

It says on the top bar screen 'CWM-based on Recovery v5.0.2.6' but was install with ROM so should be fine.
try using the recovery to format the ext partition to ext2 or 3 then use it again to ext4

As I said, I have created and formatted partitions under windows FAT32 & Ext4 and then under recovery, there was no choice of the file system file, I can only choose the size. And it was formatted to Ext3 - log saying.
