"One solution to the low space, i did it by myself based on Hidragon kernel, so i changed FSTAB to mount the sd as internal"
Before doing anything, backup ur kernel, or rom, and move it to your PC
Tested on a 16, 32 and 64 GB SD card
Now the instructions, Medium Difficulty
Install Minitool Partition Wizard, i wont say how to use it here, since google has better tutorials that one by myself
Then, you downlod the Kernel here http://www.mediafire.com/file/9lltcd2t7te04o0/bootinterno.img
Then on Minitool, you format all the partitions, and put all the space as primary with EXT4 (this with the phone shutdown)
Now, install the Kernel on TWRP or Fastboot, reboot and you are done! it will take some time to boot
You need a good, really good sd card class 10+, with a low cost class 10 or class 4 the phone will lag a lot
That's all, good luck

thx fr the guide

SC card
its very quick card depend- bought specially for it 32gb Toshiba exceria uhs-I u3 ,but its laggy /sometimes/.will try next uhs-I 16gb samsung and 32gb integral if any of them wont be better than Toshiba
Edit 13.12: integral uhs I cl10 is better than toshiba,no lags and everything works for 1A
Thanx You @panchovix for posting here english tutorial

@thang2000ht2 flash stock kernel, then wipe data, cache and your sd card

That's the right thing to do.

Does it work on Honor 4x che1-l04 snapdragon processor ??

@gvrgvr sadly nope, only for Honor 4X che2 Kirin

Nexus S has 1GB ROM/internal storage

So there is no slot for memory card in Nexus S,was hoping that atleast the memory distribution would have been like the Galaxy S which has got 1.83GB of internal storage for games/apps,which is quite a lot.
But apparently{quite surprisingly} Nexus S has got just 1GB{0.95GB to be exact} as the internal storage.

android_master meant for installation on "internal" memory the 16gb is partitioned to make a mountable "sdcard" style partition for the PC so it could be used for froyo style apps to sd but its kinda dumb to have to do it that way
hopefully when we get root (hopefully its as simple as the N1) we can flash a partition change that increases "internal" memory
You won't fill up 1gb of apps . Even then, there's enough that can be moved to the sdcard.

the problem with that therory is that just today google released a blog entry about the new market updates and how they are increasing the limit of app size to 50mb with more and more game devs coming to android that 1 gig will fill up fast and because the 14gb partition is fat32 there will be, albeit it negligible, a slowdown with apps on sd
i'm wondering too if it would be possible to change the internal partitions to make, say, 8 GB internal and 8 GB "emulated sd"... will be interesting to find out

anything is possible . depends on if the 1gb and 16 gb are partitions of the same space or if they are separate. if separate, is there a way to switch it so the 16 gb is read as the primary internal and the 1gb as the "emulated sd". I'm thinking in terms of separate computer hard drives to make sense of it in my mind.
Move to SD card! Most games or big apps will have that feature, since many devices come with around 1-1.5 GB of ROM.

it's one 16GB card inside, around 1GB is for system storage, 1GB for Apps and 13.3GB for the sd card.
You can't screw around with the system storage part, but repartitioning it would allow you to change about 14GB of it. To which if you wanted you could do 7/7. but that would be pretty dumb since no one will ever fill up 7GB in the data partition.
If you seriously think your going to be downloading a lot of 50MB apks, then changing the data to 2-3GB would be best, leaving 10GB for the sd card partition.
And obviously, this is all assuming we can even do it. I think 1GB+Apps2SD should be fine.

You're going to have to do your own research, now. Reading and searching, with the forum search button and google.

Sd card and Marshmallow

Hello,
I've got a Galaxy S5 G900F.
Is there a fix to Read/Write on Ext Sd card on Marshmallow 6 (like Sdfix on Lollipop) ?
Thanks,
Regards
Fred
Tried this one?

Hi,
Thanks for your reply
no good.. Error (the same thing than Sdfix : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nextapp.sdfix)

Hi,
nobody would have an idea ?
Had exactly the same problem myself with BlissPop MM ROM, even connecting it to the PC via USB wouldn't give me access to the MicroSD
Some permissions problem with MM I think
I posted about it in the ROMs thread, and no-one had a clue there either
Back on 5.1.1 and everything works as it should
Thanks,
if you have an answer with a solution , I'm interested
Yep, I`ll post here if I find one, annoying, I use MicroSD card PC access a lot
updated to MM and can no longer find Ext SD, it seems to have been renamed and nothing can find it..

Yea, it's named a load of random characters now, like 9C8B-74A9
HI
I have the same problem.
On SM G900F with MM 6.0.1 stock (XEF) (Rooted + TWRP)
The SD Card is locked to "read only" whith some apps (Titanium backup, Locus pro), I can't enable read/white.
Difficult to SD write acces with ES File explorer (root)
Have you 1 idea?
Thanks
I found this (somewhat risky) procedure for the S7, I didn't try it yet : http://bgr.com/2016/03/11/galaxy-s7-edge-tips-microsd-adoptable-storage/
All this snafu seems to come from the new way MM uses the SD card, which is really not a good idea in my humble opinion. Internal storage is a good idea idea on the paper, but not being able to use your SD card as you please is just a disservice. An on top of that, Samsung decides to disable the only thing that would have been helpful (Internal storage) and only allow portable storage, which the large majority of apps don't know how to use yet :/
You can read more on the internal storage feature here : https://motorola-global-portal.custhelp.com/app/answers/prod_answer_detail/a_id/109134/p/1449,9582
Tried it on my S6 with a 64 Sandisk U3 :
Code:
D:\Utils\Android\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>adb shell
id: unknown ID 2000
[email protected]:/ $ sm list-disks
disk:179,64
[email protected]:/ $ sm partition disk:179,64 mixed 50
[email protected]:/ $ exit
D:\Utils\Android\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>
By the way : of course this manipulation wipes your SD card content ... backup backup backup.

Marshmallow now shows 2 partitions (one internal, one portable. I rebooted and I'm now going to fill internal storage to see if I can exceed the internal memory limit.
After partitioning. You need "migrate" your data from internal memory to SD card partition. On SD card, click on menu and there chose migrate data.
After this android shows external sd card as internal memory. And all your apps use your SD card instead of phone memory.

Enable adoptable storage on your s7

Its easy as pie, no root needed.
Open your command window / terminal on your computer and type the 'adb shell' command (with your phone connected of course). You will need to enable USB debugging in developer settings (which in turn is displayed by tapping the build number of the device 5 times) in order to see the option.
Type 'sm list-disks' to list the disks available for adoption. It'll look something like below - take note of the disk ID (disk:179:160 in this example).

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
Partition the disk. For this we use the 'sm partition DISK TYPE RATIO' command. For example, to partition the disk above as fully adopted storage (aka private) I'd use the command 'sm partition disk:179:160 private' If I wanted a 50/50 split between adopted and regular, I'd use the command 'sm partition disk:179:160 mixed 50'.

will an evo+ card work for this? will it slow the phone down that much? kinda annoyed raw files and VR stuff didn't seem to save on microsd...
I currently have a sandisk class 10 u1 64gb card rated at 48MB/s
Would this hamper me or should I spring for a u3 128g
---------- Post added at 06:06 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:01 AM ----------
What would I see after this procedure when connecting the gs7 to my pc?
I don't think it works correctly. I followed the directions as say, shows everything like it does on the guide. But... when I went to fill up the phone internal memory, I hit about 300 mb left, and nothing else will install.
This is what im getting...
Error: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: command '45 volume partition disk:179:0 private' failed with '500 45 Unknown disk'
my disk name comes up as "disk:179,0" and im only seeing the one (assuming that is the SD card?)
EDIT: "[email protected]:/ $ sm partition disk:179,0 private" Make sure you put the EXACT result of list-disks and not try to copy the tutorial too close. >.<
There's one more step
Go into storage then sd card and select migrate
One thing that bothers me about the process is that at the end, your total storage is wrong. As in the authors posting my total storage showed 90 something gb of 128gb free. i only have a 32gb card installed. so total storage capacity should say 64gb, not 128gb. although cool i think i am going to hold off using this until someone figures out how to make it show the true amount of total storage. at which point i will toss in a larger and faster card.
+1 Keeping an eye on this thread, waiting for someone to solve the 179,0 issue as well as the incorrect total storage problem.

What is the 179,0 issue? Think I missed that one.
Do people really need that much internal storage? There are several drawbacks with adoptable storage that I don't think are being considered. The S7 uses very fast UFS2 internal storage that's not just fast sequentially but also communicates on a full duplex bus (read and write at the same time). Even the fastest MicroSD cards today are not nearly as quick as the internal storage.

The guy who originally posted this method is using the European variant of the phone, which recognizes the SD card as volume 179:160. Using the U.S. variant, my phone, and others, shows the card as 179,0. When applying the fix to 179,0 the partition volume appears to change to 179,1 or 179,2, creating issues. Works well enough for me with 179,0. Storage shows the wrong total capacity, but that's fine.
Sorry but if your storage shows wrong capacity, that's NOT OK. You could end up with corrupt files.

Woaah first reply .
Amazing work dude .
I was searching for quite a time for a tool to partition sd card without voiding my warranty (without root).
It was so easy and so much useful . Thanks buddy .
add example screenshots for formatting mode 2 - 50% Internal\50% SDCard, SD Card 2GB.
Where can I get "aftiss.cmd" file?
Does this support a 100% internal mode? I wanna use this to force adoptable storage on devices that hide the user menu for it.
I'm tempted to do this but I tend to change ROMs on a somewhat regular basis. My question is, what happens to the data stored in the formated as internal sd card partition?
Where can i download tool?

Sorry for the noob question, but what is the benefit of this? Is it better to have it stay as external so there will no app/file will be harmed/affected when I remove it?

To avoid such problems, before re-partition, format the memory card as removable media.

You can move applications to the memory card with the cache, this significantly saves the memory of your smartphone. Here only a problem in that, system is standard formats the memory card as internal storage OR portable storage, and this is not entirely convenient.
This script allows you to use the memory card as internal storage and portable storage, at the same time!
Anyone used this with Nougat?
Sent from my LG G6 using Tapatalk
Wow I never thought about this possibility.
Until now I only stayed with removable SD card mode, because portability is a high priority. Especially due to the backups that I keep on there. An all-adoptable SD card was therefore never a feasible option for me.
A partition for each is an amazing solution to get the best of both worlds.
I will definitely try this later on.
However, what are your experiences with readability on other platforms?
Windows usually can only read one partition on portable storage. Which partition does show up in the Windows file manager?
