ZUK Z2 PRO Android 7 confirmed 2017! - Lenovo Zuk Z2 Pro Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello,
Now it's fully official.
Android 7 will be released officially on January, 28 2017
m.gsmarena.com/zuk_announces_android_70_nougat_update_plans_for_the_z2_pro_and_z1-news-22050.php

The Chinese character 內測 in the image means "test internally".

The 7.0 test internally was OTA today. Maybe the stable one will be released before Chinese new year (about five weeks later).

on print screen is missing dark theme... I hope they would include it..

For those who would like to update here is the link to the forum to try 2.5.335ST version.
http://zukfans.eu/community/threads...ion-updated-link-for-2-5-335-st-version.1801/

looks almost the same after got updated to ZUI2.5...

does 7.0 on the update brings manual controls on the camera?

Yes, yes it does. This is also known as the ZUI 2.5 update, by the way.
Welcome to the party, however late.

I didn't have it before 2.5 was available, so I never tested it on the older builds. It's a decent camera, although you really want to be on stock ZUI to take advantage of it.
Realistically, if I had to choose again, I would probably save the money and get the regular Z2 instead; the custom ROM scene is much better, longer battery life, and no issues with the Z2 Pro camera's OIS getting physically stuck due to Camera2-based drivers not knowing how to deal with it properly. And no worrying about missing U-Health, since it doesn't have the finger sensor.

Should Huawei Skip Lollipop alltogether and focus instead on Marshmallow ?

So what do you think ?
I think they should not waste any more time in Lollipop.
Its september 1 , they did not release as they told us.We are becoming mate 2 users they are waiting 2 yrs for update.I think mate 7 will stay on kitkat, if we get 5.1.1 that will be last update for sure just my opinion

Right now im on closed beta 5.1.1 B320 ( its for chinese Mate 7 only), its good and stable enough for daily use, i think Huawei will release the final build soon, be patient

Soon??? What about soon?? 1 year...2 year...3 year???? Hihihihihi
B-143 is working v.stable for me.
KitKat to lollipop is a big jump, but tbh I don't really see big hype or changes at the back end to really have much end user impact and tbh sometimes I wonder with all the OEM mutations, how much of optimisations really carry over.
1.IMO the big MM feature is more optimised deep sleep, frankly alot of that is already built into the current build or you could always use greenify.
2. Current build already reports mAH consumption, another feature being cooked in MM.
3. Material skin: download lollipop theme, use nova launcher, use ex dialer, Google keyboard, messenger and you're not that far away.
Hopefully Huawei nexus has the same amazing battery life and hopefully we could steal the fingerprint scanner drivers and hope they work on the one we got. It works amazing right now.

Bingo. I was thinking exactly the same thing this morning on the way to work. We'll have to see how close the Nexus comes to our beloved decives, but I'd love to see a port of the Nexus firmware for the Mate 7.

ever since I did install I have shut up about lollipop I simply do not care any more, Apex gives the speed I did want from day 1.
No more frustrating slow animations that looks like crap..apps open faster with apex for sure...
It felt like an cpu/gpu upgrade for sure..
what a silly question, if they're not bothering with pushing out lollipop, what makes you think they'll even consider pushing out M to the mate7?
Because they did that with mate 2. They skiped kitkat for lolipop
Why would they skip something they are currently (and have already currently) spent money and work hours on aka. Lollipop for another Android version that isn't even officially released? On top of that, the Ascend mate 7 will soon be replaced for a newer Huawei phone.

Set all animation speeds in developer options to 0,5 and the stock launcher will work faster

Some questions before buying:

Hi! I want to buy the phone next month and I would like to know some things about it:
1: I know this is a new phone and there is no custom ROMs but you can root it and install TWRP?
2: I see that you can update it to 8.0. Should I update it after or I should stay with 7.1?
3: How is the battery? How much up time you get?
4: How is the performance? How old is your phone and how is the performance after you use it for a while?
5: How good is the camera?
So I should get this phone if I want to have a good balance between performance and camera quality?
Before posting this, you could've checked the other threads for the Mi A1. Also many reviews to be found everywhere.

1. Yes, I'm rooted but have not yet install twrp since I have to be unrooted for that
2. I didn't see any 8.0 update yet
3. Very good, for me last whole day heavy use without gaming, almost 6h sot
4. I've got it few days so cannot say, it's still new so no one can tell yet
5. Camera generally ok, in daylight very good, low light only if you are patient and have steady hands, otherwise there is Google HDR+ camera port, with it the photos are excellent.
Btw, most of the question are covered in various topics.

You have to be rooted so you can add the following in the build.prop file-
persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1
Restart your device and it will work.
BTW, once rooted, you can use ES File explorer to go to /system where the build.prop file is located.

Flash Treble Build On Honor 7X

Someone flashed Treble build on Honor 9 Lite which uses the same CPU as Honor 7X and successfully booted....

Eh..... You do know Project Treble is an "Oreo" thing right ?
And...... The Honor 9 lite comes with Oreo 8.0 out of the box....
Keep your 7X Stock ( That's the key )........ wait a little longer........ and you will be receiving a notification that you are about to be updated to Oreo 8.0...
Then....... You can try Project Treble on your Honor 7X
I'll try it

let us know how it goes planning to pick up a 7X pretty soon and while it's an appealing device I'm not too crazy about EMUI, so if it can run an AOSP Treble build that would make it all the better.

I have a few issues, the GPU is absolutely awfull, not recommend for intensive gaming.
The front camera Is very bad especially under low light.
The rear cameras are quite good but suffer under low light as well.
For some reason i don't get any updates.
(This is specific for my device though)
The screen is amazing, nice colours, sharp. Just lovely.
There is some occasional ghosting in YouTube but this is only in YouTube so no other apps (for me at least)
I do thoroughly recommend buying it of the official site.
Even when Oreo comes to 7x, whats the guarantee, that it will come with Treble support ?

There's everything obvious - Xperia X is still a great device, and it SHOULD get every security update.

Initially X was never part of ANdroid 8 when sony released software binaries. however it was last minute include. the line was drawn at X-perf
It feels good how finally Android 8 is running stable on X however as daily driver and with burden of social apps. X starts lagging and overheats as you said! , many functions and camera don't work.

That's only a problem of YOUR PERSONAL device. My X is neither lagging nor overheating even in a hot situations (tested in my bathroom with 41 gradus temperature, runs great). I don't have any problems with my X, neither all my X users I know from 4PDA. So stop telling people that Oreo is bad when YOUR device overheats and lags, please.
I suggest you to visit some local repair shops and ask them for checking your cooling system.

on this road map xperia X and X performance was added later, sony had cut-off taken for OREO for XZ PROJECT ONLY! however later two X devices added, A post was on xda did mention last year how Sony has announced to discontinue X and Xc when it was just on 7.0 only! back then everyone was hoping that it should get atleast 7.1, if not Oreo!

also sony added X, Xp and Xc later in 2017 for Oreo! the original cutoff was til XZ project only! X family was not part of it inicially

I own two Xperia X, Black and Lime, so there goes your argument.
also its not my personal opinion and as Hardware there is NOTHING wrong with Xperia X. we are talking about software part.
I have tried my Black X with Omnirom 7.1.1 and 8.1 and the same X has
1. Amazing Batter Life
2. No overheating
3. no Lagging
4. Camera works perfect and records 4K
since you are using my modded kernels and ROOT ACCESS allows you to modify Oreo by having different modes in Magisks and/or control bloatware etc.
I would suggest you to flash oreo .2.70 right-away and use untouched for one weak with all the bells ringing and we will see

Due to the following features I am using Oreo (XGEN) build on .2.50
1. Better Screen Resolution/Tone ( the tint in Oreo on screen is soothing to eyes as compare to N)
2. Cleartype ScreenFonts
3. Nighlight
4. Notification settings options and panel
5. Setting Menu simplified (a bit better than Nougat)
-- however these are all UI and cosmetic affects
I was happier and relaxed on the final build .252 (came dec17) android 7.1.1. I kept switching back to .252 after trying first two Oreo builds which I found horrible in terms of battery life & overheating; and its not just me, many user reported the same on various posts (in and out of XDA forums) about how after upgrading to Oreo they are facing overheating and battery drain issues. when X overheats it starts lagging.
10April18 build .2.50 (third attempt) has been quite better than its predecessor builds but still can't compete with dec17 build .252.
REMEMBER, my comparison / observation is on ROOTED Xperia-X

Nice challenge!)
I'd like to accept it, but since I was already using Oreo on locked bl (before your kernel was released for 5121), I can share some thoughts. It was running stable, maybe camera was a little bit worse than I expected. No overheat (was it because of a winter?), no lags, no anything. It was a clean and stable ROM. So...
But thanks for the idea of challenge like this. I have a guy with untouched X, so maybe he will tell something there.
over-heating
Hi Guys,
My Xperia-X is replaced in this may month in warranty.
After replaced I am feeling too much overheating.
From the first day, I have an update to latest may security update.
Now I don't know this over-heating is due to may update or again I got faulty hardware by Sony.
What about you guys do you feel over-heating especially after may update?
Hey folks, heads up June update is out and about..

50.2.A.0.352 update for XA2, XA2 PLUS, XA2 ULTRA is available in some regions according to xperifirm (mostly for duals)
I already updated. I have troubles with camera, lags on 4k mode with steady shot on and system works slowly than Oreo. Don't install that, but you cant revert Oreo back
R2A revert to Oreo. R1A for now is not
I have updated my XA2 day before yesterday, after getting Android 9 all things seems fine except battery life which is good enough when my device was on oreo, i am not saying its terrible but its noticeable, on standby its working fine but during usage its going to be draining fast, its really painful for me bcz battery power was highlighted feature of XA2 but now its behaving not well, sony should fix this as soon as possible

I notice the same, battery runs out faster than with Oreo, then I had no other inconvenience, the camera app was updated and some say that the video quality worsened, I did not notice yet, but the good thing is that for the first time I managed to run a version of Google Camera (I think it's for XA1) is one of the first to appear on Google if you search "Google cam Xperia".

Yes bro everything seems fine except battery timing, its more sleek and faster than oreo, finger print scanner is now super fast and camera has been improved, over all its good update but battery timing is really an issue, hope they fix it
More about the camera app and android Pie.
They removed the Timeshift function that was the best of the app, is available in the playstore but I can not install.
As I said above you can install a functional version of the Google camera that at a glance takes better photos and videos (without so much postproduction) from here

I also tried all the portable apps of this link for LG smarthphones, they all worked (with limitations), but the H2O from ONE Plus ascinated me, the manual controls are excellent and it works fluently.

I also used newflasher yesterday (flashed the German rom) and it works like a charm  Thought I had some fingerprint issue's at first but that was caused by my phone case

I think Android 9.0 fingerprint recognition seems faster, higher success rate, but it doesn't have pie's navigation bar and there's no circular clock
The update is successful. Installed this morning by Xperia companion on my XA2 single SIM, everything is fine and the battery lasts longer. The only thing is that the task manager I did not find the windows with horizontal scrolling but with vertical scrolling as in android 8. For the rest it's fine.
100% battery April 8 at about 2.15pm
1:01 am on April 9th 35% Battery
The only thing is that I wanted to find the task manager with the windows horizontally, otherwise satisfied.
It's fine..
Got 50.2.A.0.352 OTA here in germany and it bricked. Well ota didn't work, download always failed, tried updating via xperia companion after restart screen went black and is now turning on and off. If the phone it self is actualy on, i have no clue.
litteraly just created this account to share the info that even 352 bricked a device.
