P9 Lite bricked (L31) - Huawei P9 Lite Questions & Answers

Hi, my problem is with the L31,
I've trying to downgrade from Nougat to MM. I saw on the thread this steps and i followed:
"Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash cust cust.img (This one is in the second zip from badwolf nougat download)
Then I flashed badwolfs recovery b2 as that one lets me transfer files from pc to phone and followed instructions from htcmania from here".
The problem is that i didn't reach to downgrade and when i try to reinstall Nougat by TWRP i get this error messages:
" E: Unknow comand (errno) update_huawei-pkg_from_ota_zip: update package from zip failed"
"Updater process ended with error: 7
Error installing zip file '/external_sd/DLoad/Update.zip'
Updating partition details...
...done"
Now my phone stays freeze on the huawei logo and the flashtool doesn't even recognize my device.
Can someone help me with this matter, please?

I followed the steps that someone advice me. Like above.
"I had to first extract the nougat firmware with huawei firmare extractor and flash everything by fastboot
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash system system.img
Fastboot flash cust cust.img (This one is in the second zip from badwolf nougat download)
Booth files you can find it in this page.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/huawei-p9lite/development/android-nougat-dev-build-huawei-t3488360/page33"
To flash img. i used the file that i attached.
Good luck

so now i restored twrp , i put the update app in sd card and it doesn't want to flash , i'm still trapped in bootloop but i have access to twrp now what to do now ?

I found the old twrp is okey for downgrade,
Just put b161 update.app into sdcard/dload and press volume down + power key.
but flash badwolf's twrp will get stuck in fastboot, though It's not really bricked.

hi, maybe you also have a solution for my problem.
i installed a wrong update via sd card (dload etc.), now my phone is just black no signal nothing. and it seems like a fastboot loop always when i plug into the pc im in fastboot without doing anything
when i try to unlock the bootloader i get "failed command not allowed")
and also when i try to flash the extracted files from update.zip i get the same error ("failed command not allowed")
by the way i didnt active usb debuggin or oem unlocking
please help thank you

Bricked my VNS-L31, any advice?

Hi all,
I messed up pretty bad trying to update to nougat. Current situation is that my bootloader is unlocked, I can access fastboot and stock recovery. Nothing else.
I've tried to change the recovery to twrp via fastboot but I get command not allowed. Attempting to flash a stock marshmallow rom via fastboot returns failed to load: not enough space or failed to load: no error depending on whether I'm trying to flash the update.zip or the extracted system.img.
I've also tried putting the stock rom in a folder called dload on my external sd card and rebooting while holding vol+ and vol-, it starts on 5% completion then fails. It does this even without the stock rom on the sd card.
I've been trying to fix it for hours now with no luck. Am I screwed?
Thanks in advance,
Laura

Use huawei firmware extractor
Use your rom you want to flash
It gives you boot.img cust.img recovery.img and system.img
Flash all the 4 imgs and your phone will reboot normally
But you will lose all your data

Hi,
I tried this and it did not work, I tried specifying the path and moving the imgs around but it wasn't having it. However I managed to get the three buttons method to work!
I'm back to square one but at least my phone isn't broken.
Thanks for your help
Oh, great
Btw you had to install via fastboot all those 4 files
I had your same problem and i managed to restore my phone (losing all my files)
Check bootloader, if still unlocked?? Try lock/unlock and flash with extractor...
Odoslané z VNS-L21 pomocou Tapatalku
Got the same problem.
Fastboot method wont work, and even flash UPDATE:APP with stock recovery wont work. :-/
Any Ideas?
My Bootloader is unlocked!

try unlocking bootloader again, not allowed means it's locked, eventhough it says unlocked. then you should be able to flash twrp. and then you can flash oeminfo for stock mm rom, and put the update.app in dload, and then use the 3 button combo

Problem with rollback n to mm

I got a problem with mij P9 i mest up my system
i installed Nougat but wasnt happy without working bleutooth. I treid to do rollback but mest up my system
What happend; i took the howto rollback and downloaded the files i needed i took the oeminfo and flashed it, from that point on i tried to install recovery but nothing worked, i think i flashed the wrong oeminfo "L21" but my phone is a L31..
I can boot the phone, but i gives me a red warning message "Your device has failed verification and may not work properly"
I lost a lot off apps
I can boot Fastboot and bootloader is unlocked
i tried the folllowing to fix it
Flashed (all) recovery trough fastboot gives a "Failed" message (fastboot gives a lot of failes) but trough fastboot it says bootloader unlocked
I tried with 3 buttons an dload tot flash oeminfo but i get erecovery with message data damaged and i can choose to wipe all and install trough wifi but that dosnt work.
Ad this time im confused and i woud really like to get my system up and runnng like it supose to
So if someone could help me out i would be veryy thanfull

If your phone is VNS-L31C432, then try these methods:
1. In bootloader "fastboot boot TWRP_Recovery.img"
this should boot you into twrp without flashing it, from there flash B161_update.zip (which should be in your SD card).
(If that doesn't work, try "fastboot -c "lge.kcal=0|0|0|x" boot TWRP_Recovery.img"
haven't tried this on P9 Lite, but used to work on other phones).
2. If "fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Recovery.img" returns errors, but says bootloader unlocked, try to relock the bootloader and unlock it again.
"fastboot oem lock"
"fastboot oem unlock YOUR_CODE"
then try flashing recovery again.
Maybe also try flashing other recoveries, e.g. TWRP (which is for MM ROMs) or Revolution (which is for N ROMs) or even the stock boot.img.
3. Try the dload method wth B161 and maybe B160 - I know my P9 Lite would only accept B161 via dload, even though B370 and B360 and B130 are for the same model, those builds just wouldn't install this way.
4. Unpack B161 zip so you have update.app, extract from that boot.img, recovery.img and system.img.
Then do:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash system system.img
Some of these methods might work, some won't but from my two experiences of bricking the P9 Lite, one of the four fixed the issue.
If you don't know where to get the B161 zips, I can post them later.
Also, this is just to get your system to a working and bootable condition. If you want to get back to full-fledged MM, you will also need to install the hw_eu zip after the B161 zip (and maybe do a factory reset after that for the sake of it).
Your apps and files are already gone, so no way to save that. Hope your phone gets back to working order soon enough.

Flash firmweare with fastboot, download ota with firmweare finder, copy update.app on your pc, extract with huawei extract tool boot.img, recovery.img and system.img(put the extracted images in the same folder where is located your fastboot) and flash them with fastboot.
With the phone turned off press vokume - while pluging the usb cable till will start in fastboot mode.
Run fastboot and enter this commands:
- fastboot flash boot boot.img
- fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
- fastboot flash system system.img
- fastboot reboot
and then wait the phone to reboot.

I will share a way I got erecovery to work. I was brave and do not recommend this. If bricked do not blame me. I formatted system. Once system was gone it worked.

Formatted in fastboot then went erecovery.

Huawei p8 lite Bootloop Fix

so i had a p8 lite wich i tried rooting and it got stuck in a bootloop.
this worked for me
WARNING: this does delete everything you have (actually that is already gone)
(read all the way before doing anything)
first i set up adb & fastboot on my pc
https://youtu.be/UN7XW4HnFT8
2nd i downloaded stock firmware from huawei site ( you can also get this from rootjunky)
3rd i used HuaweiUpdateExtractor to get the recovery boot system and cust out (out of UPDATE.APP the one from the firmware)
4th i booted my phone into fastboot (i connected my phone to my pc first because otherwise i couldnt get into fastboot mode)
5th u start the command prompt in the adb&fastboot folder and type these commands (if you dont have custom recovery or custom roms you can skip to 5(i think i didnt do those)) :
1 adb devices (if it doesnt find it wait some time or reconnect it it will pop up sometime)
2 fastboot erase cache
3 fastboot flash boot BOOT.img
4 fastboot flash recovery RECOVERY.img
5 fastboot flash system SYSTEM.img
the system .img is too big so it will go in 6 parts and will often fail but just keep trying make sure to wait long enough because maybe it is still busy
6adb reboot
it should start up now.
these steps worked for me also when i did step 2 i could get into Erecovery wich i could before but now i could erase cache and something else and do a factory reset just press erase on everything then continu

Flash this If you stuck on fastboot or soft brick

Hi so I been seeing many people getting stuck on fastboot after flashing ROM so here is the method u can use if u can't boot to TWRP also.
I have tired on PA ROM and it works so idk about others ROMs ..
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash logo logo.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash misc misc.img (u can get on fastboot rom not .zip)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img (recommend used twrp-3.3.1-2-davinci-fix).. Russian one
And after those comands do run TWRP auto installer.
U can find those files from fastboot stock ROM. This will save ur data and u won't needed to flash Stock ROM ..
Hope I explained everything if anything else needed comment down below.
Hi, i'm stuck in this fastboot limbo but can't find some of these files you mentioned: logo.img and misc.img
Where do i get them?
edit: nevermind, solved flashing fastboot miui with miflash pro.
EDIT 2: after flashing a rom i get stuck in fastboot everytime. How to avoid this?
Also tried flashing those files in that exact sequence but still stuck in fastboot.
My persist.img is shown not writable in cmd if I try to flash it. If I flash a rom using TWRP an error pops up saying "failed to mount /persist' (Invalid Argument).
SOLVED- Flashing persist.img from twrp "Install Image" works.

Hi, please follow this setups and it should be fine .
If you run into errors flashing fastboot images to your device, edit the .bat files that came with it. Usually you want to edit "flash_all.bat"
For "Missmatching image and device":
Remove the lines highlighted in the screenshot from the file, save and try flashing it again.
For Antirollback Error:
Remove ALL lines ABOVE the highlighted lines in the screenshot from the file, save and try flashing it again.
Always make sure that you got the right image for your device. Removing check lines from these files can permanently brick your device if you use the wrong fastboot image.

You're able to flash miui 11 after such long time or just 9.8.15?
