Lock orientation in landscape mode? - Huawei Mediapad M3 Questions & Answers

Seems to force it into portrait mode when automatic is disabled. Any tips?

I have the same question, so I'm bumping this.
This seems like such a basic question, and I can't believe Huawei doesn't have a way to lock the M3 in landscape mode.
Thanks in advance!

I'm using "control screen orientation' app but there are a lot...

Was trying to avoid a third-party app, but I guess that may not be possible.
Thx for the suggestion.

How to stop autorotate with keyboard slideout?

Hello. Just want to ask someone, how can I stop automatic rotation of the screen contents while I slide out the hw.keyboard? Is it possible indeed? It doesn't matter which device,I never get a solution to stop it. Please don't ask me,why I want that, simply I just hate it and want to disable this "feature". Currently I am using Raphael.
Thanks in advance for any tips.
An app that can block auto-rotating & enable auto-rotate without slideouting the keyboard would be very very great.

He want an option to lock the porttrait mode
There is an app called AutoRotateSwitch, it just locks the screen in the position it is in at that moment. And it is in a easy button which you can acces by holding the search tool in the toolbar.

Cool thanks! been looking for an app that worked with archos. Most would just lock it in Landscape. My only disappointment is this app moves the softkeys to the side.

[Q] PACman multi-user?

Has anyone gotten the multi-user working correctly? I'm able to add additional users, but I can't switch between them -- the "faces" don't show up on the lockscreen.
I checked around the lockscreen settings, but I couldn't see anything obvious to enable this function. Any ideas?

No kidding? That's interesting.
Don't suppose there's a setting to turn them on in portrait mode, is there?

Immersive Mode Tasker Profile For Nougat

Hey guys. I recently updated to Nougat on my 6p, and was disappointed to find a lack of immersive mode. With our screen being OLED, and susceptible to burn in, I wanted to find a solution. After some digging, I discovered a fix that could be implemented using Tasker, and wanted to share the profile in case anyone else out there found themselves in my position. You will need Tasker, and you will need to be rooted. Load up the profile, and then click on the event trigger, and select the apps you want to use immersive mode with. As it's setup now, opening the designated apps will enable immersive mode, and exiting the app will disable it. Let me know if you need any help getting this up and running.

Just what I was missing in Nougat, except the volume - press to skip tracks.
Once the navbar is hidden, can just swipe up to get it back, or do I need pie controls to have this work?
any workaround for not exiting immersive mode when opening the keyboard inside a designated app?

Happy to help. You can just swipe up to get the navbar back. I've been trying to figure out a solution to the volume button media controls, but so far have been unable to figure anything out. There's an app called Button Mapper that is currently in beta that allows you to define button long presses. Two big caveats are the screen must be on, and the current build still seems a bit janky. It's entirely possible that it's my rom that isn't playing nice, but occasionally I'd get a situation where my volume just wouldn't change. Maybe give it a try, perhaps you'd have better luck.

I've downloaded the xml and installed tasker again. I've added a profile and selected chrome beta as trigger. How do I make it call the xml. Sorry for the dumb question, but since most roms provide what I need today, I haven't used tasker for a while. Thanks for the help.
OK, found it. Long press on profile tab and choose import option.

Try smart rotate. This app is able to rotate any app including the home screen.
I suggest to tick the following in settings.
Show notification shade.
Show advanced modes
On power - Activate
Force orientation.
Then pull down the notification shade to reveal the shortcuts and ensure that the lock symbol and the orientation symbol far right are both highlighted.
This should make any app rotate with the screen.

Pretty sure that you can just put your tablet on sideways and then swipe down and you just press the rotate mode to lock...

Nope, that doesn't work.
The app advised above does thou.
This is an excellent app - Just installed it on my Tab S6, running Pie and it has managed to rotate all the apps I've so far thrown at it (Reddit, Xbox, Gamepass, eBay) thanks @ashyx
