No, you have to unlock the bootloader. I wouldn't touch kingroot for money.

Towel Root works on the Tegra

The Samsung S5 root tool put out by geohot also works on the Tegra, just tried it and got root.
But we have to unlock the bootloader first?

I don't think so. Just tried it and used SDFix afterwards and it did no longer complain that it did not work (which it did before rooting).
Indeed it works. But i don't have a recovery
I agree root works,but don't have recovery

Successful root kitkat locked bootloader

i used towelroot by geohot, i installed the apk, again i have a locked bootloader, ran it, rebooted, used root checker and voila
i thought it was a longshot but i couldnt sleep this morning and was sifting through websites looking for root methods when i came across this for the samsung galaxy sfive and thought id give it a shot. and it worked. again i am stock kitkat with a locked bootloader.

ok Then..but i do think there was a way for those on system version 98.18.94....i think it was just the 4.1.2 with 98.30.1 that couldn't. but it's easy enough to just update...with kitkat all you have to do is install 2 apk's and your rooted and unlocked..

You can root 98.18.94 with SafeRoot but you can't unlock the bootloader on that version. Your best bet is to update and unlock your bootloader while you're at it so you never lose root.

For us no.
The only method we have is the Engineering bootloader.
