YouTube new navigation bar - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hi all
From few days I think I have some change on YouTube navigation bar which get switched off only by X on right bottom side I pass was enough if I did pressed screen or it was happening automatically, that is not comfortable for me now, many times I press and dose forwards video near end as it is close to video bar plus.
Basically if there is way to change that back and not installing old app?

You might be on some module...coz YouTube player doesn't have this x button.

Things you don't know about your HTC one

Just thought I would start a thread that could be useful about things you didn't know about your HTC one
I only found out tonight that if you swipe down your notification bar with 2 fingers it takes you straight to the shortcut tabs
That made me realise there are probably loads of features and gestures I don't know about?
Here is a list compiled from the thread...
1 : Swipe down with 2 fingers on notification bar takes you straight to shortcuts (Android 4.2 version only)
2 : If you scroll with 2 fingers in contacts, gallery, music, and many other apps, it scrolls much faster (using it in the contacts list goes through the alphabet, using it in the text converstaion list goes through dates of conversations)
3 : You can pinch zoom text-messages
4 : Double tap your Bluetooth button with camera active to remotely take a snap
5 : In camera, from the top swipe down and it'll switch from back to front camera and viceversa
6 : Tapping on the statusbar while in the app drawer or blinkfeed, music, people, and message app brings you straight up
7 : You don't have to pull up the lock or the time on the lock screen - swipe up anywhere to unlock your phone. Same goes for answering a call
8 : You can increase the volume on your tv via the volume rocker on your phone instead of the on screen buttons
9 : Quickly double tapping the home button brings up the recent apps list
10 : Three finger swipe from left to right on the homescreen brings you to share files menu
11 : You can adjust the brightness of the torch/flashlight with the volume rocker
12 : Hold down the power button and tap the home key to take a screenshot
13 : Holding the back button in the browser brings you to history
14 : In the photo gallery's edit>effects screen (under the magic wand icon), you can customise every preset by tapping and holding its thumbnail and dragging it to the "customise" bar that appears on the right. You can even start applying custom effects from scratch by doing this with the "no effects" thumbnail. You can then save the created preset
Also on that screen, pressing the 'A' button provides options go change the white balance of the picture (as you would normally pre-select in the camera app). A = 'as shot' but you can change it to cloudy, fluorescent, etc and also a couple of options the camera app doesn't have - shady and tungsten.
15 : If you have the camera app open and turn off the phone, the lockscreen will be inactive, meaning when you press the power button again you go straight back to the camera app, no need to unlock
16 : Select "Show Magnifier" in the Accessibility menu and you get a magnifying lens that pops up when you are editing text
17 : Long press home for google now (depending on setup sometimes home and up also takes you to google now)
18 : In Google play if you are listening to a song and have the album artwork up (the screen where you have your pause/play, next/previous track)
You can swipe right to left to skip the track it left to right to go to the previous track. There's a cool sliding in/out animation too.
The coolest feature though, is that you don't have to press back to get back to your library or playlist. You can swipe down from the songbtitle and your library of songs is waiting behind it.
19 : In the Stock Browser go to Menu>Settings>Labs to switch on "Quick Controls". Slide thumb from left or right edge to open quick controls and hide app and URL bars.
Also swipe across the keyboard to easily switch to the numbers and symbols pages!
20 : You can access HTC's hidden Self diagnostic tool by following steps:
Go to dialer,
Dial *#*#3424#*#*
You will enter HTC's self diagnostic tool
You can check if all the parts and sensors on your device is working.
21 : If you're watching tv and have the tv remote enabled and you're getting a call it automatically mutes the tv.
22 : There's a visualizer and karaoke player embedded in the HTC music app. Just click the musical note icon when playing a popular song that's on Gracenote. The app will automatically download lyrics and sync them to the song.
By default, this only works on Wi-Fi. This can be changed in Music settings.
23 : You can also set a different wallpaper for the lockscreen than for the homescreen by going to settings -> personalize -> lockscreen and then settings for the wallpaper lockscreen.
24 : Rotating your calculator to landscape provides scientific functions like sin cos and tan.
25 : if you leave the TV app open to your remote and you lock your phone...it unlocks right back Into the TV remote. I've also noticed it just turning itself on when I pick it up!
26 : There's a cool trick in the camera app.
If you touch to focus, and hold your finger there for about a second, it will activate Focus and Exposure lock, until you tap on another spot, which will turn it off again. It's a handy feature, especially when you want to recompose. (android 4.2 version only)

Not trying to rain on your parade but that is a Android feature introduced in 4.2.
You should go to settings and then display and you can now set the home key as the menu button when long pressing.
In the HTC keyboard settings, you can enable Swype and in advanced you can even set the swype colour.
Another one, if you scroll with 2 fingers in gallery, music, and many other apps, it scrolls much faster
Pretty known one.. In the browser menu, you can enable flash player
There are lots of fun features with zoe's after you've made them (comparable to GS4) like sequence shot, removing objects, and waaay more

Also one more thing many have not realized yet. There is no file limit size when transferring files to the phone. No more FAT32 4GB file restrictions. That's the benefit of having ONLY MTP, but you lose out on faster transfers and universal USB Mass Storage support. You can fit a 20GB movie in if you want and if you have the space.

Didn't know that two finger pulldown.
On CM it's pulldown from the clock, I couldn't figure out how to do it with Sense.
This is great!

the two finger pulldown is an AOSP 4.2 built in feature, the CM implementation is an option to swipe from left or right edge, AOKP has it as well, this can be disabled and the 2 swipe feature functions as normal.

Now I know. Having used CM10.1 almost exclusively for the last year and change, I sort of forgot that it wasn't exactly the same as AOSP.
To add to this thread: I bet a lot of people don't know that USB Audio out is built in and switches on-demand. I can finally use my phone with my Fiio E7!

You can pinch zoom text-messages.
You can mute your phone when you turn it arround ( back to front)

Maybe it should be posted here the aroma freeze fix:
I know some people have problems shutting down their phone when this happens
If aroma installer freezes on you do the following:
1. Hold device's light sensor up to a bright light source (any lamp will do)
2. Hold power button down until buttons on bottom begin to blink, keep holding and phone will turn off!

When booting into hboot it isn't necessary to hold both power and volume down
just power the device on and immediately hold the volume down and keep it held down until your in hboot

Its a hardware problem i guess.Go to the service center.
Another option is to install GravityBox and enable Pie and disable bottom navigation buttons with LG Pie support. I did it like that. But u need time to adopt to Pie option, after a while it gets under a skin and bottom nav bar is useless

The LG G3 Tips and tricks thread

So i noticed there are many users coming from a galaxy device, and there are i think more features than most of us know when it comes to this device, everyone just post a tip you think someone might now know:
I'll start with mine: If you click and hold the multitask button, it will bring down the settings menu, this can be used pretty much anywhere, even in the homescreen.
Also if you open an app using qslide you can move the app all the way to the left edge of the screen and it will turn into a button which can be pressed and brought up at anytime.
good post this, keep them coming !
U can slide the Qslide to either edge. Works same ways for both the sides.
Good and keep the new tricks rolling..
ok, so here is mine:
you can use pinch gesture on multitasking window or in gallery view to resize thumbnails (make bigger or smaller).
Pretty nice

We can choose the style of the setting menu in a list or regular view using top right options
From Lg G3 "the beast"
I just upgraded from a well-loved GS3 (it was getting flaky though) and I miss having built-in widgets for controlling bluetooth or wifi on/off that you can put on your main screens (Samsung had the power bar - which had a bunch of stuff). I'd rather not use the HD widgets if I don't have to - and pulling down the menu bar isn't always convenient.

This used to be my favorite tool, i know you mentioned you don't want to download any alternatives or so i understood but: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&hl=en
You can create your own powerbar where you can toggle wifi on/off bluetooth etc.. infact, i think i'm downloading this myself now that you reminded me of it, it is indeed more convenient.
When you scroll from bottom to open the qhickmemo+
Press the brow arrows that appear in the top after you'll be able to select an area to capture it
Also in the gallery, you can make a collage photos, hide photos and videos so no more need for hiding picture apps
In the home screen pinch to zoom it'll hide everything
That what I remember for now

Ohh, that's actually a nice low-impact widget.. Thanks! The HD widgets (while pretty) were very resource intensive and flaky sometimes for me. Too much for a widget.
Thanks!

long press the back button will activate dual window
Home button+ down taking a screenshot

Anyway to make snapchat not full screen?

So I've had my s8 plus for a couple days and snapchat SUCKS on this phone. I didn't wanna complain but being an app that I use often and most likely ALOT of people use often, I was wondering if there's anyway to either change the aspect ratio on this app (the full screen option for snapchat is unable to be toggled) or make snapchat think it's an s7 edge.
The main issue with snapchat on the s8 plus is that the front camera is super zoomed in, takes f.e to focus, and stories and snaps I receive or view in the stories look horrible like they were shot with a Motorola razr.
Edit: I know you guys will say snapchat needs to make an update but being an android user we should know all too well how that will go.

Not sure if it's a variant thing but the option to disable Snapchat from working in full screen mode is greyed out on my settings. Selecting/long press does nothing.
Snapchat works fine for me. Running Snapchat v10.7.2.0 Beta
Im having the same issue. The camera is so zoomed in and even my Galaxy S6 had better quality in lower lighting. It doesnt make sense. It looks very good if you have white light coming in but if not, its pretty bad. I was surprised. And I cant toggle the full screen option either
This is going to sound dumb, but how do I exit a snap of I don't want to continue watching one? The Samsung buttons don't show up on the bottom and I can press the home button, since it's press sensitive, bit I cab figure out how to exit a snap. I keep getting stuck in a loop of espn and comedy central snaps because I can't exit a current snap. So I've been having to press the Samsung home button, shutdown Snapchat, then reopen.

Any solutions?
Hey!
I see that this was posted in the spring, so I wonder if any of you have any solutions regarding the snapchat zoom on the S8 (s8+)?
Just bought the phone and I'm struggling with the same problem...

oreo and Instagram issue

So far Oreo is a noticeable improvement in battery and lag. But... Something has changed when using Instagram. The home touch buttons are now too closely overlayed over the Instagram buttons. They're literally on top of each other down there at the very bottom of the phone, With each button ust slightly to the left of each other. The result is that you're constantly hitting the wrong button, no room at all for error.
As a remedy I installed the XDA gestures app but that has a new slide bar that sits right in the center of the screen when using Whatsapp so that you cant see what you're typing. I have to tilt the phone in landscape to get the bar out of the text input box. Any suggestions?
I experience the same issue in both vanilla instagram and GBinsta.
Another issue is that Google Assistant is also right in top of the LG home touch buttons so that it blocks me using the screen capture/screenshot button. I have to do the fingerprint button+volume button thing. Otherwise the related searches pull up results take up half the screen so I cant screen capture. Google must really want us to buy Pixel phone...
What models are yall using? I'm on H918 Oreo using the small display size and my instagram works just fine.
I don't use Instagram all that much but I just went to check out this issue.
The thing that I noticed right off the bat was that if you have the "Home Touch Buttons" set to hide then when you use Instagram they will almost completely overlap when dragged up.
Solution: Use the little square dot in the bottom left corner (tap to change the state) to keep the Home Touch Buttons from hiding. They will nicely reside under the Instagram app and not be overlapped. When done with Instagram just tap the square to go back to the hidden state.
Hopefully this will be of use to you.
