multirom kenzo build 6.11.3 MIUI 8 - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Take a breath for a moment and read this quote good ....
a little review about multirom kenzo. This rom is fairly smooth and uneventful with no bugs, and also the battery is very durable, weaknesses just slow in updating the latest build still it was not a problem because I think developers are very careful in drafting its version. just give me your download link and then flash as usual through twrp. if there are questions and reviews from other users please give comments. Do not forget to be happy ... LOL .....

I use miui based ROM from xiaomi.eu and it is pretty stable for me. Not sure about any differences between this one (multiROM) and that one (xiaomi.eu). At least we have the safest way to flash miui stock based ROM on twrp recovery without any issues.

whats the difference between miui and this rom?

Hello friends!
Multirom is unique Russian project which main focus is quality and stability.
Main goal of this project - Their new translation system and patching firmware "B.A.R.S."/Methic
They do not use jBart! (combine that uses apktool and smali/baksmali which used by others/xiaomi.eu etc). Mainly because of this, the quality is much higher than others analog firmware. Apktool hopelessly outdated and it's time to the dustbin of history. They used about 40 patches to make firmware great. In addition to well-known patches and patch T9 paid to those present:
Patch Anti-spam, calendar (Russian and Ukrainian holidays), camera, wedge-master, e-mail, gallery, a compass, a framework, Mui keyguard, framework, weather, SMS, yellow pages, security center, videos, contacts, and so on. In general, patches adapted typical Chinese setting and services to European. They do not include third-party firmware hacked software. Only Open-Source. All apk during the translation are subject to optimization. The greater the amount of free RAM - a side effect of the procedure

Hello and happy new year!!
Starting a new thread for MIUI u8800 with the 2.6.35 kernel branch to avoid confusion with the old branch.
I am not responsible for any damage what-so-ever done to your phone, as with any ROM, you accept this risk.
Visit the project homepage here!
Installation Instructions
First of all you need to upgrade to official 2.3.5 release from Huawei.
Get the official upgrade from here and follow the installation instructions inside the zip.
Afterwards follow this nice guide on how to root and install CWM recovery on your phone. (thanks to That-Guy)
Recommended recovery is this (thanks to Blefish)
If you came from another rom wipe Data/Cache/DavlikVM.
If you are upgrading wipe Cache/DavlikVM.
Apply the zip package as usual through CWM!
Njoy!
Thanks
First of all thanks to all the developers supporting this device.
Thanks to Blefish, Darksage07, dzo, genokolar, ksatta, stockwell and anyone else i might forget.
Special thanks to genokolar and dzo for providing the kernel.
Thanks to the Desire Z MIUI port community as without it there wouldn't be this port too.
Thanks to MIUI-XJ for the translations.
Anyone else i forget.

FAQ
Some translations are not good either missing stuff can you fix it?
No. I don't do the translations neither intend too. I just implement them.
When will you release the next update?
Will try to bring the next beta every Sunday nothing is for sure though and it depends on my free time.
I have an issue that i think it's a bug how can i report this?
State the version you are using, explain it thoroughly providing information on when it occurs and under what circumstances, use proper English, use common sense, have patience.

u8800 changelog
Tweaked a bit cpu voltages according to the old vdd levels franco used. Should get a bit more of battery life in frequencies under 1024 and more stability over it.
Added a couple of new governors to have fun to (lagfree, lazy, interactivex, minmax, scary, smoothass).
Fixed native wifi tethering.
In call volume/quality is better but there is still some noise in low volume.

From this version and on no mods will be included. This is a clean MIUI. For mods check the addons section.

u8800 changelog v2
Fixed torch and superuser issue.
You'll have to use MoreLocale 2 to switch to another language now. Old framework was causing me issues so will stick to the unmodified one.
Some really nice transitions added!
Using desire-z framework instead of miui-au should now be more stable and with better battery life.
Removed extended settings mod / app drawer. Check the miui android forums if you want to install them by your own from now on. Only mod i will continue implement is the t9 dialer mod.
Maxthon as default browser.
u8800 changelog
Initial release with the new kernel branch 2.6.35.
Can now mount both internal and external sdcard with no problems.
The usual stuff from MIUI-AU and MIUI-XJ.
Some changes reverted in build.prop that actually caused worst performance instead of better.
Cleaned up init.d scripts.
you didnt get any glicht or freezes o the screen, because this is my major problem on the gingerbread rom from huawei.
Looking nice. So only difference to other is kernel?

I agree with ooie. Who cares about the attitude or whatever... The FAQs are there because people don´t like to read much and don´t care about searching for the information.
We care about the work and I´m grateful. I´m still using "his" Froyo based MIUI and in a few days I will try this one.

I guess you are referring to the FAQ. Many of the things i'm writing are mostly with a humorous attitude so please don't hate me
Anyway the major issues so far is the random reboots and battery life and that's where i'm focused now. If you can't stand them for the time being or don't want to test please don't install this one and use the one with the 2.6.32 kernel that is stable.

Nothing wrong with upgrade if you like it. I just want to clear some confusing. For example, the ROM based on cm11 (kitkat) and they throw in some features and wallpapers from lollipop and call it a cm12 ROM. In fact, its still cm11 ROM. You get an idea. I'm using cos12.1 now. I try miui but don't like it.

If that's what you think, then you're mistaken. MIUI is nothing more than a skin, it doesn't have a separate base. For example, MIUI 5 was on JB 4.2.2 for the Redmi Note, 4.3 for the Redmi 1S, KK 4.4.2 for Cancro(Mi3 and Mi4: they both share same ROMs). Xiaomi basically just sticks their skin on any android version they can compile easily for that particular device.
The official MIUI 7 for the flagship Mi devices (Cancro) is also on KitKat 4.4.4. So yes, this is genuine MIUI 7 (although everyone agrees that MIUI 7 is nothing but a new theme and new wallpapers; trust me I had a Mi3 before this, and my old friends are all up in arms about the disappointment that is MIUI 7)
And as for the link being the same, that's cuz its the official MIUI download page. And if you look carefully, you can see it says MIUI version 7.
As for whether its worth updating, I'd say screw MIUI, we're WAY past KitKat. Xiaomi can go to hell (coming from an ex-Xiaomi user) unless they provide proper updates.

Hello, what is the difference between this new roman and official developer ROM ?
This is AOSP, clean android, like Nexus Smartphones
Has anyone tried it already? What is it based on? Is it stable?
Sent from my eXposed C6603
but i saw those screenshot , they are using baidu instead of google, i think this AOSP is dont have gAPPS
Gapps is not problem.
Just installed it. A lot of preinstalled chinese applications. I froze all the stuff i didnt need with TitaniumBackup. Now its quite useable.
I think i stay with the ROM for the moment
edit: some wild chinese characters appear over the place. but still useable.
edit2: antutu score of 43835 (normal redmi note 2)
edit3: changed build.prop file, chinese characters disappeared. everything works like a charm. can recommend the rom

Hi, do you think that this is a real AOSP ROM, or just the normal ROM skinned to look like AOSP?
I'm asking since the Redmi Note 2 is using a Mediatek SoC, and we all know the problem with Mediatek SoCs and AOSP and source code...

To be honest I'm not an owner of the Redmi Note 2 yet (still considering it), but the presence of AOSP/CM ROMs will really positively influence my decision!

Oh dear, I can see my data allowance is going to take a hammering over the next few months Silly question, does it have full region support, I e. does it have UK English rather than just U.S English?
Is it port, write? From what smartphone?
Work slow motion?
Any bugs?
I think it's the real AOSP. Use it now since this morning. Works perfectly. But the same amount of wake locks like with original MIUI.
@AdamBs: would it be possible to share download link of your ROM. Would feel saver to use this than a Chinese version.
Other question: now it seems we are able to create 5.0 AOSP Roms, does this automatically means we can create 5.1 and later 6.0 versions or CM12.1?
Thank you very much
It'll be uploaded tomorrow and I'll make a post. Working on a few issues like SD card and other minor issues.

I don't have any knowledge of porting or building roms, but lack of development for our device is really disappointing. Thank God you jumped in. I was also thinking that redmi note 4 has almost identical hardware that of p2. Good luck, we are here to back you up (most probably as testers.) But I can promise that I shall put more effort in learning porting and building.
Btw, a debloated MIUI will definitely go very well with our p2. Also, kindly try to look into other non cm/aosp based roms like LEWA OS, FIUI, EMUI, EUI, COLOR OS, FUNTOUCH OS etc.
Answering your questions... I won't put any additional work on VoLTE as it's not available in my country, but still some ROMs may support it out of the box. Building a ROM better than stock is impossible, the stock Nougat ROM is near perfect imo. MIUI why not, I'm not a fan of it, but I know many others like it.

For me the only major issue with cutom roms is the not working audio slider during conversations (volume is fixed to a mid level) and the fact that during conversation with loudspeaker the other person can hear him/herself, making the conversation impossible. There are some related messages in other threads, look for my posts.
If you manage to fix this this device will almost be perfect, but I don't use volte and I seldom use wi-fi tethering.

Well, by "better" I mean in terms of battery life since I've read lots people saying that custom roms don't perform that good with battery. I would say that a custom rom is better than stock even if it could reach that battery life.
Maybe I should've explained myself better

Best stable rom with good performance?

Hi,
I've been kind of out of the loop for a bit, but after some problems with official ROMS i decided to switch to the custom ones.
I'm looking for something that's as stable and lag free as it can get (I was very happy with official roms from xiaomi to give you an idea of "good enough" for me).
Anything symilar available? I'm currently sitting on https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-4-prime/development/rom-aicp-13-t3752647 , but I see some minor stuttering and it happened to freeze for me already :/
I don't care about customization and fancy stuff, neither do i care about android version (as long as it's not ancient xD). Can anyone suggest something?

It's more stable because it's maintained more frequently, new builds are released as soon as the sources are updated.
And, there's no post about it on xda, it's maintained by a Russian dev and publishes his work on 4pda. So, you'll only get the zips. For details, follow him there.
