Battery life: CM13 vs Stock - Moto G4 Questions & Answers

Hi,
I'm wondering what others are seeing with the battery life of Moto G4 on CM13 vs stock ROM.
I'm a light user ( a little bit of email, browsing, some apps). Overnight, I lost about 3-5% of battery life on stock. So, I can go a week before charging. On the other hand, with CM13 I'm losing 15-20% overnight. Most of it is due to Android System and Cell Standby. So, battery life drops to 2+ days.
Are people seeing similar loss or is it just me?
Thanks

Post your battery life

I was thinking of getting this phone mainly because of the better battery, but I couldn't find much information on how much it lasts (SOT/usage) compared to the other Moto G variants.
So, post your battery stats, please!

Got the XT1072 4 days ago, after the first charge i'm on 20% now , light usage, calls, sms, and some browsing, too lazy to up a screen now i'm alredy in bed.
ROM is cm12.1 btw. The Stock rom 5.0.2 was lucky enough to see 1 boot lol.
Nice phone, the only thing i miss is the physical home button to wake up the screen, now i have to reach the power button.
Here you go, this is my battery life on Mokee OS (Release Build)
Really really good battery life.
Stats which do not appear on screenshots :
- 25mn call
- 30-45mn music
- wifi on for 12-15y
- data on (4g/lte) for an hour I guess.
Deep sleep is amazing too
My motorola XT1072 battery averages 1d 16h 46m (9h 0m 60s active usage) on a single charge. Averages 5hr 55mins screen on time in a single charge since March
Do you not use Greenify and Deep Sleep Battery Saver? i'm a light user but get 7-8 days out of mine, 10texts and facebook and twitter for 20mins a day so very light user.
Used Greenify last night at 11.30pm and woke this morning to see the battery at 98% at 9.20am when I checked it, you wont see that on the standard lollipop
Just got the phone today with android 5.0.2 installed, the battery life is terrible, i lost 40% of battery in 2hours!! All i did was install essential apps and surf the net on wifi . Need advice on how to make it last longer, currently planning to root the phone anyway also how long does the battery last when playing emulator games.
Thanks
Give it a couple of days. It's completely normal to use a lot of battery when you are installing/syncing for the first time.
Mine has a very poor battery life now, which replacement battery would you please suggest?

[Q] Battery useage

What can I realistically expect from a Nexus 4 with the original battery?
I've tried flashing various roms, all with varying results, some better than other. With average use, occasional browsing, whatsapp, text messaging and the like, I can go from fully charged to around 30% in around 8 hours.
Is this normal?
Otherwise, some folks suggests a rom that is better focused on batter life? I don't care whether it is Kitkat, Lollipop or Marshmallow.
Thanks,
Yeah, that's pretty good.
Try Chroma + the Quanta kernel combo while undervolting -100mV or so, raise the voltage if the Camera app stops working.
I have replaced the battery twice and have severe battery drain, just turns off at 40%. Annoyingly this happens with a brand new battery (proper LG branded from Amazon). I installed it and charged as normal and it still turned off at 40% then showed 0% when turning the phone back on.

What's up with the battery on ports vs stock?

I thought my battery was doomed.. Until I tried a Note 7 Port. For some reason I get MUCH better battery life on the ports than "stock" custom roms.
On ports I get almost zero drain and 1-1.30 hours per 10% and that is while my phone is even in the pocket most of the day (low standby drain). On the other hand on every stock rom, after the same day, same usage and same apps I have around 45min SOT and down to 70%.
I think Android System is the culprit, but there are still people having amazing battery life on "stock" roms. So how do you stop this Android System drain? It's clearly fixed on the Note 7 and there might be months before we get the updates where the note are now.. But I like stability by far, so would like to go back to stock, if I could stop the drain.
Thanks in advance

Does marshmallow firmware solve the cell standby battery drain?

Hi all
currently still using lollipop and wondering if its worth instally marshmallow. is the battery life better and have less battery drain then on lollipop?
Thanks
DOSE does help to extend the battery life of the Note 4, when it's not being used and is still powered on.
Forgjve me for asking but are you joking or do you mean that the cell standby usage drops with marshmallow compared to lollipop? Im looking for any possible ways to get thjs reduced. My cell standby percentage is almost 30 and 40%
Hello: In my particular case, before in 5.1 i have 1% per hour of battery drain, now with Marshmallow i have 3 % EVEN with Doze per hour, so in my case make worse my cell phone and with more lag.
So in my case again. I don't recommend you upgrade your phone.
But Cell Standby with Lollipop is terrible....its using so much battery!
Does marshmallow help to get rid of cell standby?
Anyone?
after last update i have heavy cell standy usage. I want to sell my note 4 and go for s7 edge

ROM / kernel tierlist, battery drain

Hello there.
I'm looking for some opinions or reviews of custom ROMs and kernels.
I need best battery performance. But every time I try something new, the best I get is overnight battery drain (e.g.: I lose 20% of battery when sleeping).
I was using PixelExperience 11, which when I used greenify didn't have this overnight drain. Then I switched to A12 (ArrowOS) and here I am again.
I have 25% battery wear (real capacity around 3000 mAh), which is not great but performed good on PE11. My phone usually lasts one or two days of light use (Messenger, Discord, sometimes watching YT on 4G), which is not bad for two and half years old battery! But the overnight drain isn't good thing ...
I very doubt that every Mi 9T or Redmi K20 user has this poor battery performance - battery drain when not in use, on every custom ROM, so there must be some tweak (kernel?), ROM or something I don't know about. Or I am simply doing something wrong.
As I told you, I need best battery (and if it's possible, not MIUI). I'm currently on ArrowOS12 with InfinityBattery Kernel. ROMs, kernels suggestions? What's your battery performance? Do you have this drain too?
