Samsung Galaxy S4 L720 Unlock question - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

Hello,
I recently unlocked my L720 using the SSU app, I'm currently running the stock 5.0.1 rom on the NG2 modem.
If I flash a custom rom like Cyanogenmod, will I lose my unlock?

No, just don't use Odin except for flashing TWRP.

Thanks, so to keep the unlock, I only flash in TWRP?
Also which one do you think is more stable, CM13 or 12.

12

I flashed CyanogenMod 12.1 and gapps, but I can't access data or send/receive calls or texts.
I changed the APN settings for the sim I'm using (FreedomPop), but it won't let me search for a Network Operator.

Why do you even need unlock? Freedompop is on the Sprint network. I prefer TouchWiz so I can't really help you on what AOSP ROM works best.

[Q] Nexus 4 Android 4.3 Superuser Built In?

I just flashed Android 4.3 Stock onto my Nexus 4 and before i was running CyanogenMod 10.1.2 I noticed that superuser was built into the settings app in many other custom roms like Cyanogenmod. I was wondering if there was a way to do this on stock android instead of installing SuperSU as an app?
The attachment is a picture of what i mean.

Hence, the reason for custom ROM existence, is doing wicked-cool stuff like this.
TL;DR, nope. Custom is your friend (and only friend) for things like this.

Where can i read more about implementing this into my own custom Rom i am familiar with making roms.
Would it be possible to just have this in by modifying stock ROM?

Yeah, if you know what your doing you can decompile the settings apk and add in a superuser option. As long as it doesn't involve framework changes

[Q] New And Need Help

Hey Guys What's Up !!!!!!!
I an new so try not to bash me to hard.
I am trying to flash a custom rom to my AT&T Galaxy S 4 (SGH-I337) running Android 4.3 Baseband Version MK2
without any success at all.
I have root, I used saferoot and rootchecker says I have root as well as other apps, I also have rom manager premium v5.5.3.7. And paid for the touch option And here is where everything goes south.
No matter what I do when the phone reboots into recovery mode it boots into the standard android system recovery mode.( Manual Mode)
I see no clockwork anything.
I am dead in the water. Please Help.
The only modification other than root that I have done to the phone is change the tetherprovision.apk files with one I found out here
to reenable tethering. It worked like a champ (Sweet Thanks For That).

You would have better assistance here: AT&T Samsung Galaxy S 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
Anyways aside from addressing thread maintenance to staff, to my understanding you cannot flash a ROM for the AT&T S4 MK2 bootloader. The bootloader is locked and thus making it impossible to flash a ROM. There is however a Safestrap Recovery recovery for your device but no ROMs.
The only recovery available for MF3 and MK2 i337 is Safestrap here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448925
You can only flash 4.3 touchwiz roms. No AOSP or such. The number roms that you can install is also currently limited.

[Q] Is It Possible?

Why would you do that? Lollipop has been out on this device for a month. There's even a custom ROM (mine, Wicked X). Definitely would NOT recommend what you are saying.

Because first of all im using network unlocked device which is for GSM network and as far as i searched there is no lollipop on this device which work with gsm.
Second the problem is with this modem im using i face some issues like when i turned 3g on my battery drains in less than 7h either i dont use device. And other is screen overheat.
I tought maybe changing modem to lollipop can solve some problems.

Return to stock - OS X

Hello.
I need to return to my GS4 to stock so I can activate the phone (I need to program MDN and MSID, the dialer codes don't work in CM12)
Here's the issue tho, I need to do this from OS X (No I don't have access to Windows and therefore Odin, no I can't BootCamp into Win). I've downloaded the stock/factory image but I don't know how to flash it, either with hiemdall or through adb or TWRP. Help?

Just flash a stock ROM, you don't have to Odin full stock recovery and ROM.
Try Wicked X, it's fantastic

Thanks. This allowed me to use the programming codes and edit MSID and MDN. All I did was download the ROM and flash it using TWRP. Many thanks.
Just for future reference there is an Apple compatible Odin program called Jodin.

TWRP should prompt you to root after it's installed. Yes you can flash ROMs after you install TWRP.

I use CM13 nightlies.
If you're going to use AOSP ROMs make sure you backup your APN settings since you are using a different network than Sprint.
