Which controllers are compatible with the latest gen Amazon Fire HD8's? - Fire HD 8 and HD 10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I just bought one of the latest gen Fire Tablets from Amazon Black Friday. I have not rooted it. I do have the Google Play store on the device via a thread on this site.
I also have been able to install emulators using ES File Explorer and emuparadise.me
Trying to use the screen as the controller is impossible. Does anyone know of a controller that is known compatible for t his device? Or is at simple as just getting a Android Controller? Searching amazon for android controllers and then looking in the reviews for fire tablet has not helped much. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
DigitalHoarder

I believe you can use a PS3 controller over USB with an OTG cable and the app Sixaxis enabler.

All the Moga pads work natively, although I'd also assume that any Bluetooth pad will.

Onlive on Nook Color With PS3 Controller

I have been following various threads on the Onlivefans.com forum about using an Android device to play Onlive games and mapping hardware buttons to software controls. None are perfect and do not play the games I would like. Now the Sony Tablet S is compatible with Onlive using a real PS3 controller. The Sony Tablet S is a Playstation Certified tablet. What would I have to modify on my Nook Color to make it think it is a Tablet S? I already have Sixaxis Controller app to allow bluetooth connectivity to my PS3 controller and it works great for all my emulators. I am really hoping this will let me avoid a $50 purchase of Onlive's official Universal Controller.
Thoughts? Ideas? Thanks in advance.
could you clarify what you mean when you say bluetooth works fine? I was under the impression that book's bt radio was too weak to even keyboard properly?
there are apps on market that allow you to spoof other devices but if it is a hardware or driver limitation you might be able to usb joystick it
The bluetooth has worked great with my PS3 controller. I have used it up to 3 feet away with no issue. I have not tried to use two controllers at once but it seems technically possible.
I guess my real question is, does anyone have a build.prop from a Sony Tablet S and I will try asking in one of those forums.
The PS3 controller works a little bit while using OnLive but they do not allow you to map keys. They want you to use their controller only.

The sixaxis app says it lets you connect four controller but the nook apparently only recognizes one at a time.

Link to the EXACT otg cable I need to connect a ps3 controller to my Nexus 7?

Assuming the PS3 controller is compatible, any working OTG cable should work. I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/T-Flash-Adapter-Samsung-GT-i9100-GT-N7000/dp/B005FUNYSA
But if you have a ps3 controller, why not just use Bluetooth + the SixaxisController app?

This is the one I bought the price is high but all the other ones come from Hong Kong. It does work very well just not all games work with the PS3 controller. Dead trigger does work flawless.

Bluetooth wont work if it's linked to your PS3

Current OUYA owner...

Does anyone know if the OUYA controllers pair with the Shield TV? I want to buy one and need to know how many controllers I will need to buy.
Also, will anyone want an old OUYA?

I don't have firsthand experience of it mate but I don't see why not assuming it is bluetooth. Although you won't want to use that controller once you try the sheild one. I paired an amazon fire TV stick remote to the sheild for use in Kodi. Ebay is you best bet for the OUYA. Still a nice little streaming device for someone.
Sorry, I should have been more clear.
I own an OUYA and three controllers, and want a Shield TV.
You could always try it out and return the SATV if you're not happy...but the Shield controllers are much better than the OUYA controller. For the record I'mm 99% sure they work just fine with the SATV though.
Any Bluetooth controller should work on shield tv. If the ouya is Bluetooth it should be ok,mostly.
Did you figure this out? I just got my shield tv and can try it out if you still need an answer.
Got mine to pair but key mappings are very wrong. Tried to install the Ouya keylayout file but it has no effect. Still trying to figure this out.

Sorry, I am no longer of value here. I sold the Shield TV because I couldn't get it working with Amazon apps. I still have 8 OUYA controllers, though, if that becomes helpful...

Revert back to Stock Shield ROM

Thought, I'd try out the Full Android ROM, but after flashing just found out that the official Shield Remote doesn't work.
I would appreciate if, someone could tell me the steps to revert back to the stock nvidia rom that came with the shield and relock the bootloader.
Many thanks
Edit: Figured it out, just simple fastboot commands. Would be happy to assist others.

Same here, I decided to try the full Android ROM then started noticing a bug with the cast function crashing on me and having to restart my shield TV in order to get it operating again which is very inconvenient for me as I cast movies from my PC to my shield . Also the fact that I have to have my nvidia shield controller wired to my console by the way of USB is still bothering me, there is also limitations on what you can do and download to the console, the ROM is advertised as being able to do and download whatever you want into the console but that's not the case here as most apps are not compatible and Google Play Store wont show a lot of apps and games, I was able to download market helper and trick the Play Store into thinking that my shield TV is a different device therefore allowing me to download almost every app, the problem with this is that the games like Gangstar Vegas look like crap and I can't get any of my bluetooth controllers to work with the game not even the Nvidia shield controller that came with my console plugged in with USB when I know for a fact that i can play Gangstar with my bluetooth controllers because I play it on my Nexus 5 without an issue, I was also able to download Need for Speed Most Wanted and it look great but once again I wasn't able to get any of my bluetooth controllers working with it not even the Nvidia shield wired controller and I know that these two games support Bluetooth controller as I play them on my Nexus 5 and on my OUYA... my bluetooth controllers work with most games on GeForce now but a few games the buttons don't work which it's another inconvenience. Having to install droidmote to play some games it's also a deal breaker as I don't want to have to activate the service everytime I want to play a android game, I really don't play touch screen games on my console anyways. Using a mouse and keyboard to navigate really aggravates me, I don't like having to be swiping to navigate and pulling down on the status bar with a mouse as sometimes I have to pull down more than once. I really love that there is development for the Shield TV and I appreciate what Zulu has done for us all, Full Android works pretty well on it but for me right now Stock is the way to go and maybe down the road when development is further ahead I'll consider switching back to Full Android...
I recently tried out the full android rom on my shield tv pro and when I tried to get back to stuck I accidentally locked the bootloader first. Now I cant unlock the bootloader and it only says (bootloader) device cant be unlocked.
I can boot into the custom rom but there is no way I can flash stock or any other thing anymore.
Please help!! is there a way to force unlock the bootloader?

The Fire Stick 1 is toooooo slow to play games via Moonlight anyway. I strongly advise against it.
Yes, you can root the stick if you have a firmware lower than 5.2.6.1.
Okay so is IT possible to Connect ps4 Controller with fire TV Stick 2 with(Out) root?
