PSA: VOLTE working on Pixel (INDIA) (JIO Sim) - Google Pixel Guides, News, & Discussion

After updating to the recent canada build (NPF26J) via ADB Sideload, I'm getting a new "HD" icon on the top left corner of the notification bar. Also there is a permanent notification saying "Device is HD capable" in the notification tray.
In settings, under mobile networks i find "Enhanced 4G LTE Mode" option too.
Also I'm able to make & receive calls on the JIO network without any mods or without using any app.
Does VOLTE also work for people in other regions? Or does VOLTE work on other recent updates?

It works on NPF26J update. I tried it. But LTE drops out often and I am unable to connect to band 40 as of now. The annoying HD capable notification sticks in notification tray as well as lockscreen. But it's a start.
Such an expensive phone and it does not support VoLTE which $45 (₹ 3000) phones support.
Shameful of Google.

Go to this link from your pixel's Chrome browser.
https://jioappstore.jio.ril.com/cms/
Download and install Net Velocity app. Run it and let it update. Install the update and it will show you which band you are on. This app only works for Jio network.

Really hoping someone finds a way to get rid of that sht.
Deleting 'S Finder', "Quick connect', and 'Quick Connect Interaction Service' leaves the 'S Finder' button doing nothing, though you can still click it, and the 'Quick Connect' button disabled (after a reboot). They're still occupying the same space.
As I posted in this topic's threat in the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 5 area:
This is annoying me as well. I think those not yet able to craft their own ROMs (like me), are gonna need to wait. If you're feeling adventurous, you maybe try installing [ROM][G900F][4.4.2]-AllianceROM-OTA Nightlies (the F and T models are similar I believe) and providing the developers with feedback.
There's also the possibility that [APPS][4.1+] Google Experience Launcher (GEL App + Google Search App) will work, as described by the article How to get the Google Experience Launcher on the Galaxy S5 which I found via this post (go thank him if it works).
would be great if xposed modual came out for this there very annoying

For those who do not understand, i believe that the AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint variants all have the quick data toggle as it must be some way connected to the fast download mode, which all three carriers disabled on their phones. All other variants do not have this issue. Similarily, the AT&T and Verizon variants do not have root access yet.

Surprised this isn't more of an issue for people. I often turn off data, if I'm down in a concrete basement where I know there is no signal, it's a real battery killer to have 3G/4G searching for a signal. Why Rogers made it so difficult and removed it from the quick panel I can only guess.
I use an app... Watchdog to monitor my data usage and it make a widget to turn on/off data if you want it. SO no pulling menus down, it's right there on screen.
It is right there on my phone.

Verizon VoLTE Problem with Solution

Hi all,
I installed the 5.1OTA and could not get Verizon Enhanced LTE (advanced calling, VoLTE, etc....) to work. I tried what everyone else suggested and nothing made it work (never showed the enhanced LTE setting in the cellular menu). Here are the steps I took in case anyone else is having the same problem.
1. Re-Install radio and bootloader from here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934540313
2. Enter the hidden menu using *#*#4636#*#*
3. Go in to Phone information
4. Click the TURN ON VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG button (wont change)
5. Click the TURN OFF RADIO button
6. Wait a few seconds (for radio to turn off) and then click the TURN ON RADIO button.
7. Observe that the TURN ON VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG button has changed to TURN OFF....
8. Go in to Settings>>...More>>Cellular Networks and make sure that Enhanced 4G LTE Mode is enabled.
I did all this and I still did not have data while making a call. I had to go to VZW site and go into my account and tell it to activate a device on my current line. I entered the IMEI and it gave me a warning about softcard and then went right back to same screen, When I clicked next it gave me a warning that it was unsupoorted device. After this it all worked perfect although the phone is still not recognized on the VZW site.
I can confirm this works. I had the hd voice already added to my line so I had to remove it and then add it back. That seemed to do the trick for me. It hasn't disappeared as it did originally. I'll update if I lose it. Thanks OP
I installed the OTA too and I didn't see the VOLTE switch immediately either.
What I had to do was to log into Verizon and add HD voice to the lines that supported it. After I added them and checked the mobile network settings, I saw the VOLTE switch pop up.
Hope that helps.

o its under free products.. i see it now.. thanks guys.
I added the service to my line then rebooted the phone but still no sign of the setting. Maybe I should have been more patient.
No matter, this solution worked perfectly. thanks
Same here played around in dialer and no go
So..... My problem is that when I enter the settings menu inside of the dialer by dialing *#*#4636#*#* it does show the option to turn on volte provisioned flag but it does not change. Ever. I hit the button, turn off radio, let it turn all the way off, then turn it on, and it still doesnt change. Reboot, still no advanced calling options.
Anyone else having this problem?
I am on Chroma ROM so I'm hoping this isn't an issue, and if it is, does anyone recommend a good stock rom until Chroma gets updated?
Thanks guys!!!
Same problem here. I was using Vanillipop and it worked on that one but not on Chroma
I tried this and got the feature and all on my phone but tried to make a call and got an error then it turned off the features and back to square one.
I did the following and it worked. I had to turn on HD Voice in my verizon account. I did not have to activate my nexus 6 on my line.
type in *#*#4636#*#*. When you hit that last *, your phone will jump into the hidden settings menu. Choose “Phone info” and then scroll down until you see an option for “TURN ON VOLTE PROVISIONED FLAG.” Tap that and then reboot your phone (I had to reboot twice for some reason to get it to work). Once booted, head into your phone’s regular settings menu, tap on “More” under “Wireless & networks,” then “Cellular networks.” You should now see an option for “Enhanced 4G LTE Mode” and it should be toggled on.
Edit: There is a chance that you may need HD Voice added to your Verizon account. To do that, you will need to sign-in to your Verizon account and add the feature, which is free. http://goo.gl/eKFV5E

How to enable wifi calling in MM

Marshmallow comes with a new native wifi calling feature, but it's hidden on Moto G3. Here's how to enable it:
Step 1
download and install this app:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.szalkowski.activitylauncher
Step 2
run the app and click the pull-down menu up top. choose "all apps"
scroll to settings and expand the list. scroll down to wifi calling:

we may need root to be able to keep it enabled, or possibly just have it set as on by default with a custom rom.
Out if curiosity I tried this, and got the same thing as well on CM13. As soon as I leave the activation screen it shuts off.

If the features is in your device but hidden, probably... If it's not capable, disabled, or removed, no. All activity launcher does is create a shortcut for an app or activity that's already installed on your device, it doesn't add new features other than its own (to create shortcuts to things).

I have the 3g and on TMobile. They have wifi calling.
Unlike the iPhone that actually has a setting for turning it on and off, the 3g has no such feature. It is a feature of MM. Don't understand if you can turn it on with activity launcher why it doesn't work. Doesn't even stay on. I know with TMobile and the iPhone, first time you turn it on you have to verify your address for 911 purposes. So I guess only certain phones actually support wifi calling, even though MM has it built in.

Galaxy S8 Mobile Data Won't Work!

Hello guys!
I received my s8 today and everything is great except from the fact that mobile data isn't working (or at least not the way it's supposed to)
I can start and receive calls and my signal bar is normal but I turn on my data and nothing happens. If I go to the settings and go to change network and choose my carrier the it will connect to 4g+. Once I turn off the data I can't turn them back on unless I do the same process.
Please help me! I have no idea what I should try in order to fix that.
Need a little more info, what model and or carrier is the phone? What service/sim are you trying to use it on?

I think so, I checked them and they seem correct. Something I just realised, is that when I started the phone.for the first time I did it without a sim and now when i turn on the phone I get a notification: "New sim detected, do a factory reset.." or something close to that.
Yeah I'd try a factory reset and if that doesn't work totally wipe the phone and use Odin to flash your carriers firmware.

SIM cards can fail. I lost data one day very suddenly, turned out the card failed. Carrier gave me a replacement.

Alright guys, thanks! I'll try cleaning the sim and if that doesn't work then I will do a factory reset.
It didn't work.. now I'm not getting the notification but it still won't connect to mobile data
Did you find a fix for that issue? I'm having the same problem

I finally fixed it, I did factory reset because sim was asking me to do so(back up your data) and then I did recheck my APN settings.
It's probably because of this setting below (see pic). I had a software update and for some reason it set my phone on never use cellular network but it has to be set either on Wi-Fi preferred or cellular data preferred. No factory reset needed. To access the setting, go to settings, connections, more connection settings, Wi-Fi calling and then toggle one of the first top 2 options.

That might actually be correct, I've got mine to work by other ways but that definitely is worth checking! Thanks for sharing
