[Tool]Converter Bin-to-Zip

This tool is for the conversion of meizu's bin formatted rom files to zip. I didn't make the tool, but I can't recall where I got it either.

It is quite bloated because of the Qt dlls (couldn't be arsed to recompile the whole beast statically) and that doesn't count the VC 2008 runtime. Oh well.
I have found it is essentially good for converting stock bins to zips, as the other way round won't be helpful for CN devices - a check in the Mz recovery has a special code path for HK devices (based on /proc/uboot_version), which accepts all stuff regardless of whether it's signed updates or not. That's why you could flash anything, prerooted ROM, or even a su package (no need to mess with TPsparky indeed).
OTH, the CN version:
- checks sig of what it flashes (thus only stock updates may be flashed)
- had a (RSA ?) checksum for each partition and thus cannot be written to freely (e.g. mod the recovery image)
- is the reason my next phone won't be a Mz

I suppose I'm lucky to own a HK MX then. Honestly, they make the best phone that I've handled aside from an iPhone (don't get me wrong, I'm just referring to the build quality.) Thanks for the tool!
We need a kernel dev if your up for it as well. Custom recovery would be a lifesaver for this phone. I'll credit you in the thread as well!

How about this:
1/ Extract the contents of an stock recovery_uboot.img
you obtain a recovery-uboot.img-kernel.zImage and recovery-uboot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz
2/ Flash recovery-uboot.img-kernel.zImage where kernel ("zImage" in update) for normal boot goes
/dev/block/mmcblk0p6​3/ Flash [(64-byte header)+recovery-uboot.img-ramdisk.cpio.gz] where ramdisk ("ramdisk-uboot.img" in update) for normal boot goes
/dev/block/mmcblk0p7​
and try to boot normally. Do you think the recovery that's normally invoked via VolUp+Power would show up?

I'm trying to use this tool to convert the Flyme 2.0.3 update.bin to a zip file so I can extract a boot.img file, and I'm getting an error. Has the format of the update.bin file changed?

Thank you sooo much mate for the heads up! Now I can extract new flat icons extracted from MX3 OS to work with my own theme.

Some fellows at Brazilian G+ G Pad 8.3 Community (here in Brazil we only had V500 officially) have flashed the KDZ seamlessly. They report it works like a charm.
They suspect, and I concur, that a V500 is a V500, therefore the KDZ should work on any V500 - some people like myself were running V20E KDZ from Russia on our Brazilian V500 without a hiccup.
But a serious issue they do report is that they didn't manage to root it yet - towelroot, ioroot, Kingo, etc., which did work on KK don't do the trick in LP.

I flashed it on my device but it stuck in bootloop probably Hardreset solve it but I don't know how to enter with key combination on LP
EDIT: I managed to BOOT UP. I will make a tutorial as soon as possible

Move to SD
I'm gonna install anyway, but still, curious. Are we now able to move apps to SD? Like gamedata? The only reason for me to root is to be able to backup gamefiles and use FolderMount. On like a Nvidia Shield you can simply move the gamedata to the SD, so no need to root. Which I am hoping is due to LP and not some Nvidia alterations to the ROM...

Yes it,s possible to move to SdCard

Move to SD was disabled by Google in KitKat but, after tons of complaints, re-enabled in LolliPop. But be aware that not all apps are compatible with SD cards, regardless of Android version.

I asked the owner of this topic @avicohh could update the method for us! http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/general/guide-root-lg-firmwares-kitkat-lollipop-t3056951 I tested here and it did not work!

quick remote software?
Does the Korean version have a better implementation of the quick remote software than the US version? The US quick remote program for the tablet seems to only have tv's and cable boxes as a choice, whereas the quick remote program on the G3 has a lot more... I'd always wondered if the tablet quick remote was only gimped for the us version or not...

In this Korean firmware it only has TVs and Cable Boxes, I believe if I had root I could edit the build.prop and see if we have more options. But there is no working Root method at the moment for LP Base

None of existing rooting tools like kingroot, framaroot and even towelroot get root access on my E5303 .
Then I tried getting temporarily root with Xperia-EasyRootTool ( github.com/dosomder/Xperia-EasyRootTool ) . No success.
Then I had dig into the sources of Xperia-EasyRootTool and found that all binaries were built as ELF 32-bit LSB executable, ARM, version 1 (SYSV) .
Then I rebuilt some binaries from sources as AARCH64 ELF - no success.

Sony Xperia C4 kernel source published, but incomplete

I keep trying getting root on my E5303 . It's unlocked now, but it seems like there is no appropriate ROM for Xperia C4 on the Internet yet. So I found kernel sources at Sony Developers website. It's called as "Open source archive for 27.1.A.1.81 and 27.1.B.1.81".

Unfortunately the sources are incomplete. After I unpacked it and ran build sh it finished with an error. There are no some files in the archive. These files are as follows:
- "../mediatek/build/shell.sh" - I think that there should be some mediatek sources in the folder ../mediatek
Can anybody give me hints on where to get that files and build a custom ROM for E5303, please.

Perhaps the best solution would be to try with a working solution from another phone with the same hardware, like htc Desire 820s or 626g, some lenovo's smartphone have also the same processor (MT6752)

I tried to follow the instructions from the link above, but there is wrong link at Super-Root.apk . Anyway, I tried Super-Root.apk from Google Play Market - it doesn't work on my Xperia C4 (E5304) .

I think that nobody has made "NEW DEVDB" project for Xperia C4 here . Try to find the software you need on Xperia C5 Ultra forum [ forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-c5-ultra ] . It looks that C5 Ultra and C4 have the same hardware . You can have a look at this [ gadgets.ndtv.com/sony-xperia-c5-ultra-dual-2836-vs-sony-xperia-c4-dual-2622-vs-sony-xperia-c3-dual-1757 ] and compare.

Contact @[NUT] for supporting your device, and try Kingoroot ( the latest version ) to root your device, it must contain a way to root the C4 .

The band 12 enable and OTA disable methods here don't work. OTA enables itself again at boot and band 12 setting also resets itself at boot.

There is already one in the Rootjunky downloads folder on their site but thanks anyway. Also that section is intended for firmwares that are to be flash in stock recovery.

Well it is hosted on a weird website, but this is the direct link that the phone OTA software (fota, which is known to be terrible) use (captured with Wireshark). It can easily be verified.
It seems the real manufacturer of the phone is "tinno" http://www.tinno.com/En/Profile/Index.html and lot of the internal apps / update files use mirrors on http://www.jstinno.com too.

Anxiously waiting.... this will be my first Android ROM replacement.

Updated the original ad removal post with TWRP install files http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=67892852&postcount=567 link on the index still valid.
This updated method remove the need of wiping the data and will remove all ads, even the one currently displayed on the lock screen.
Root or exposed are not required (only TWRP obviously) so it won't affect the device security.
I created 2 scripts, one to clean everything, the other one leave the Underground app store in the system.
If you use it a lot, it's nice as it will update the apps automatically without the need of allowing unknown sources.
OTA are disabled by renaming the updater. Safer than the previous method (pm disable and pm hide), and safer than deleting if we need it later.

I am working the new version which will have alot of features. It has alot of work, we are getting rid of that userinterface for 3d using ogre3d. The new version will allow you to choose which interface you preffer, but I'll concentrate on the 3d version. It will also include mtk flashing where you will just choose like say infinix 551 (remove frp) or readbackup format etc, devs will have access to a new mtk flashing system to add new phones support.
