help plz v20 FRP lock with custom recovery - LG V20 Questions & Answers

basically i got stuck cause i cnt boot into the recovery without quick boot , after i restored a old backup , but i forgot it had a fingerprint with a pattern so i did the google FRP to wipe it , it gave me access to the recovery witch i have RC8 twrp but formatting and reinstalling does nothing it just keeps allowing it to do everything but when i try to boot to the normal system it keeps putting me back into recovery ?!?
plzz if anyone know of anything i can do let me know the phone was already rooted and oem unlocked but atm im still just trying to get it back to normal =/

Try this.. Turn off the phone and press and hold volume down and power until you see the Lg logo. Release only the power button for 1 sec and then repress. Once you see the white factory reset screen you can release the buttons. Scroll to yes and then again on the next screen. This will boot to twrp. You need to enter recovery this way and no other way. Once in twrp restore your backup. After finished do.not boot yet. Go to mount and make sure system is mounted then go to the twrp file manager and go to data/system/users/0/fpdata and delete the db file. Then back out to data/system/users/0 and deletes settings_fingerprints.xml and then back out to data/system/users and delete the three files that say locksettings.db. This will remove your Lock screen pin/pattern and allow you to setup new fingerprints. Now try to boot into system.

the thing is when i did the format though googles crap , it delete all my files on the system and my sd card so there went my backup D= , do u have a plan backup or anything else i can do atm i am pretty screwed , if u or anyoone else helps me fix this i dont care about giving 10$ , im quite sad about this , i already can install roms but since it wont get past the boot and goes into recovery its not letting it install anyfile , i can get into the terminal of twrp and the file manager within it but i cant find anything like that , i dunno if its in a different spot or anything

i tryed what u said and nothing happends , i did what u said and it keep going into the recovery , i cant seem to get it to boot to that menu
even a bacup of the system boot may help im worryed i may just have briked my phone but i can get into the twrp recover menu and nothing else besides the fastboot witch its unlocked

im keep trying many things , i dunno if anyone has a backup of the tmobile stock recovery boot or any of those backups made when doing the rooting process , i did have them but stupid thing formatted n i lost everything =/
or if somone can backup there system image boot file and the recovery maybe flashing that may help

if anyone thinks they can help me add me on skype mirajane.takami its a old gaming name i used to use , but im taking my surface tablet to work n gonna keep reshearching ways to fix this cause i have my pc n adb aswell all other tools =/ ima have a spare i can use to chat

just uploaded a vid to show anyone exactly whats happening . this is right after i did a full wipe as well as a factory default though twrp and installed a stock rom i found on here , it just boots to recovery without me doing anything and does that whole flash thing? im not mking it go into recovery its doing it by its self --> vid https://youtu.be/kGQYA0SgdjE

Have you tried flashing a Rom in the Development Section? You can also go to jcadduono how to root thread. He has a stock img you can flash using TWRP's "Flash Img" feature.

yea i already been rooted and had been flashing roms , but i couldent get into recovery no matter how much i read the instuctions online how to get there with the v20 for some reson it wouldent work , so i restored a backup i had but forgot i had a figerprent on there , so i did tho onlything i could think of cause i could get adb cause i couldent get into the phone n have acces to it , so i did that google fps thing and it let me trigger the factory default reset but it messed witht he phone and it formatted all my data with sucks but o well on that the problem is it delete my backups , so i was like ok just wipe littery everything n start over but this time around after i installed the same rom i had been using it just gives me the boot in the video , i also tryed older roms ive done before on this device but i alwasy get the same results ? i just wanna get it fixed bad i still have access to twrp so i think theres still hope i dont care if i have to pay to get somone to help me honestly i just want it fixed

i didnt know they added that feature into twrp , i found the files i used to root n unlock the bootloader , but i cant find the system.img or the boot.img im thinking those may help if i had the right files i got the recovery.img from there n flaashed it on the recovery section , but nothing changed

did everything in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=69685809&postcount=146
but at the end of it there was no system files in the folder after ? dunno if that may be the cause?

just fixed it /T.T/ this guy posted how he fixed it for himself a while back , ima totally donate to him for this >.</

did you try to load rom in the recovery img? This also happened to me (triangle with the android guy) and I thought I couldnt flash custom roms. For some reason the regular reboot to recovery mode gives me the triangle of death as you call it.
I got around this by loading in into bootloader mode then going to my command console, getting to my skd tools folder, and then typing
fastboot boot (whatever recovery img you used)
Then everything worked perfectly.
They are going to move this to General....
You did not follow the steps correctly it sounds.
Did you Load Amon Ras Recovery?
IF YES,
GO into Recovery
WIPE data
Flash Cyanogen's Latest ROM
Flash Google Apps available on Cyanogen's front page Post
In future ALWAYS nandroid Backup...
If you did not load Amon Ra's Recovery, you should go do this from fastboot.
I'll try to explain it to you:
1. The Bootloader is unlocked (you see the open lock at the first screen)? If you don't see the lock this is the first you should do or send it directly in for repair!
2. Then you have to flash the Recovery ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=611829) This you need to flash an update.zip Exact instalation guide is in the Link.
3. The ROM. If you want Stock then here you'll find it as an update.zip: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...-online-kitchen-optional-root-insecure-himem/
Choose one without includet Radio ROM!!! (See below why!)
4. Copy the ROM to your SD Card Root
5. Go into Recovery ROM (Vol Down with Power and then select recovery with the Volume button). There you select wipe and choose the first entry there (wipe data and cache)
6. Stay in Recovery ROM and selct Flash from update.zip and select the update.zip. Wait until everything is done and you are promted to reset your N1.
(DON'T MESS AROUND WITH THE RADIO ROM IF YOU DON'T KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU ARE DOING. DON'T UNDERSTAND ME WRONG, I THINK YOU HAVE NO GLIMPS WHAT YOU ARE DOING SO BETTER LEAVE THE RADIO ROM ALONE!!! YOU MAY BRICK (DESTROY) YOUR PHONE WITH IT!!! If you dont believe: http://android.modaco.com/content/g...odaco-com/303716/nexus-cannot-on-after-flash/)
7. There should be no 7. Everything should be fine by now.
Hope I could help.

[Q] Xoom files doesnt change

Hello guys,
i got a serious and frustrating problem here.
A few days ago my xoom was stuck on the M screen, so I used a thread in the forum and recovered it.
It solved myh problem back then, but since I had 3.2 before this and the solution injected me with Android 3.01 my problems started to show themselves.
the first one is that
<b> Through Fastboot, RecoveryMod, ADB </b> and any other way you can Imagine to install a new ROM or even remove or create a file,
All of them show success message but when I check them out I see no changes.
i tried fastboot and Recovery to install nearly every ROM,Recovery and bootimage in this site but so far it was wild goose chase.
so I want to ask if I'm doing anything wrong or if you need any more information here, but please help me with this
wow I cant believe it, All these masterminds here and no answer to my distress signal??
Guys I am so in trouble and this is the only place I hoped to get answered.
I can provide you with more info if you need, but please dont say I'm on my own here.
all these years this forum was the last hope for me.
i know I'll get my answer here one day
You are not being very clear about what you have done,, but I'm assuming that you reinstalled the stock image that got you back to HC 3.01. Can you see if you are able to get OTA updates to get you back to at least 3.1, or 3.2 if possible?
If that's my problem forgive me please, Ive written that post in 3:00AM
for the sake of clearity I should add some info:
1. I even tried stock ROMs but you see I cant even flash them (Not from Recovery nor Fastboot) the steps seem successful : it opens the package,it installs them and it says everything was a success. But when I restart the device I see nothing has changed.
2. OTA updates are the same, they keep downloading and when the sysem reboots to recovery to install them it cant find them.
3. You dont believe it if I say even files and programs that I remove from device by my hand(Android OS) are back after the first restart.
And you see it's dark magic! everything from a file to a partition are back by one reboot. I dont know what should I call it but I havent seen anything like it on the whole Internet.
So seems like I should make a competition for the xda experts here
Can you publish it so all of them can see it?

Actually, I have seen someone with the same problem here on this forum, but I can't recall exactly what the solution was.
Can you describe, step by step what you are doing, what cable you are connecting to your pc with, etc?

That would be relief to know this could be solvable.
I will look more too.
As for your post I must say:
1. I plug the Xoom to the PC using the included cable
2. I start the xoom and start fastboot
3. on the PC system has the drivers and completely knows it
4. I start with SDK:
I. Fastboot oem unlock (Completing onscreen instructions and reboot device)
II. Fastboot mode again I use Fastboot flash boot boot.img
III. Continuing with Recovery,System
IV. Rebooting the device anything is the same.
My ROM is unchanged by the process and keeeeeeeeps giving the damn error of System process error please submit
5. And with ClockworkrecoveryMod I have the stock ROM on my sd card.
I. I choose install zip from sd card.
II.Choose the correct zip file and start flashing.
III. Choosing Wipe Data/Factory reset will take the device into a complete hang. unless I first use the mount page to mount the System/Data
IV. I reboot the device and ..... you know nothing changed.
so thats my story.
Still hope to find something about it.
Thanks...that was helpful. But now I want to know the following:
Were you rooted before the trouble started?
What did you do to recover?
If rooted, what version of CWM recovery did you have installed? Did you do a nanadroid backup? (I guess the answer is no, because you could have just restored with that).
What recovery are you accessing when trying to flash a zip file?
If you can answer these questions I will continue to wrack my brain trying to recall where I saw that thread.
Edit: please check out this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1370312
Some of what I said to him may help you .

I was thinking of may be the userdata partition is corrupted and I gotta find a way to flash it completely.
Somehow I used Fastboot utility to do this and after saying Success, Nothing changed again.
Do you know any other way to physically do this job?

[Q] After 4 1/2 yrs on XDA I am finally stuck! Bricked No download mode, No OS.

Hello my fellow XDA Members. I am stuck in a tight spot and after reading and re-reading some things the situation doesn't look very promising. I hope this is the moment that Karma shows up and I can get some help on this. Here it goes.
Specs - LG G2 D801 Variant > TWRP V2.8.3.1 > NO OS Currently
I was running Cloudy G3 Rom smoothly and got bored and decided to flash that new rom that is a 5.0 Rom all variants. Did the usual back ups and flashed it. Something happened when I flashed the rom. It went through the Aroma installer and then said "successful" but stuck in a bootloop. I tried it again and nothing happened. Then I tried to wipe everything again and started getting an E: Cannot mount (data or system I forget which as that error went away after I completely formatted data, wiped everything and reflashed Cloudy Stock. )
> Cloudy stock bootlooped and nothing is happening in TWRP. I Am using the USB OTG method of getting files on the phone and getting it charged but anytime I try to do anything (flash a rom, an older version of TWRP) it just immediately restarts TWRP and thats that. I have No OS at all.
> I tried to use one of the methods to get into download mode and flash a stock KDZ but the phone acts like it is going into DL mode (shows the little blue transition screen) but never gets into the ACTUAL download mode where the PC or flash tool can recognize it.
So in a nutshell > No OS > I can get into TWRP but it does nothing > No Download Mode > Don't want a new phone > Don't want to take it apart and try to short circuit anything if possible. LOL.
I am totally stuck here. I am done alot of work and even helped friends and family out with their devices over the years. I am just not sure if I need to consider it a done deal and get a new phone or maybe one of you guys know of something easy and obvious (please let it be the latter) I am missing. Thanks for any help you can offer. I Will be standing by.

I haven't thought about flashing a bootloader. How would I flash the bootloader if I can not the phone into either DL mode and or TWRP doesn't do anything either? Is a bootloader file just a flashable file like any other .zip file?

The first one I can not do as I do not have any knowledge at all of Ubuntu, Linux, or any of that. It would take forever to get a working knowledge of that software in order to get things going again. I would probably just have to either take it to a cellphone repair shop or get another phone before I could do the first link.
I have not tried the second one but it is a viable option. I was looking at it online and trying to talk myself down from having to do that. I would reallllllllly rather not have to take my phone apart if I can keep from so that's kind of what this post is all about. Just trying to see if anyone knows of ANYTHING else before I go taking apart my phone.
Can you describe more about "twrp doesnt do anything"?
Does twrp boot up?
Can u see/wipe partitions?
Can u install any rom in twrp? Does it finish?

TWRP boots and I can go into wipe, advanced wipe, and format data and it says it's successful. I can use file manager and move items back and forth from USB OTG. If I try to flash anything it just reboots TWRP immediately so I can't install any .zip files at all.
My guess is that your bootloader is damaged.
The only option i can see for you is that Ubuntu thing i shared with you. So, lets stop acting lazy and do what needs to be done. Dont scare since there is nothing to loose. LG G2 is unbrikable
Booting up ubuntu or any other linux os is so easy. And there is nothing much to learn. Trust me.
Go to ubuntu website and download their newest iso file. Burn it on dvd and boot it up. You dont have to install it, just choose "live mode" and it boots up. Just like that. Then yiu can proceed with tutorial mentioned above and it shouldnt take more than an hour from you. Its all typing some commands in terminal (remember CMD in windows!).
Just make sure to download the files mentioned in that tutorial before proceeding.

First of all calling people lazy is not nice. I'm not lazy I am trying to play it safe. I wouldn't want to brick it to the point to where I don't even have recovery and it can not even be charged any longer. I have Ubuntu on my desktop upstairs. I have used it a little. It's not that I am completely ignorant to Ubuntu I am just a total novice. Also the issue described in that post doesn't exactly match my situation. I am not in a black screen. It's more like a bootloop that I can not get out of because TWRP is not doing what it needs to do and I can not flash TWRP a ROM or get into DL mode at all. Also that post says,
"VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!! You must use the img files that correspond to the ROM you have installed before getting the problem to avoid breaking your phone."
I don't have a rom on my phone soooo...
You didn't answer my question well. If on TWRP you can finish installing rom without any error, and you keep coming to twrp after restarts, that's another situation. Try this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2451696
But if you cant even finish install in twrp (twrp gives you errors or just restarts before giving you "successful", either you have problem in rom you try to flash or you need to build everything up from start.
That lazy thing was for encouraging you to do it.
And you cant brick your device. There is always a way on G2.
For img files: find them from last stock rom that was working on your phone.

Is it possible to get the phone rooted without TWRP?
Edit: I asked this question because whenever i install twrp my fone gets the recovery brick. But here's how i used this thing to fix the colour method.
First I installed twrp and installed this zip. Since my phone was stuck in recovery loop so I installed the stock recovery which fixed the recovery loop and went to settings to see if it worked. and It worked. I kinda hated the screen for the colours. i can finally enjoy the phone at its Most

I Dont Know Why you are facing Recovery loops Also assuming that you are not tried this recovery
I am Using This Recovery & Working Cool
I Will Give you Quick Guide To TWRP Installation ,
Use Link androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=65930
Download Tools 2.7 , Which Is basically For Cuoco Firmware But Sufficient For Our needs , Extract Files & Put It in a folder , and run batch Files ,
As per Your Prevision Post , Assuming that You Unlocked Boot Loader , if not Unlock Boot loader First , You can see Batch Files for Everything , Lastly Run Flashrecovery.exe , Which Will flash Custom Recovery to your Phone
Then report back to me ,

Deleted Bootloader on LeEco S3 X626

A couple weeks back I deleted the OS off of my phone while messing with TWRP recovery trying to install a custom ROM. I looked around the forums and i got my phone to the point where It booted into a stripped down version of android with stock recovery on it, although everything was mirriored and backwards. But when i tried to install the stock rom for my LeEco S3 with stock recovery it got stuck i a boot loop and I couldn't turn off the phone or boot into recovery or anything. So i let it keep booting until it ran out of battery and died. So then i decided i would put the stripped down version back on and start again.
So I went back to my sp flash tool and reinstalled all the partions except the boot and recovery partitions (according to the steps on the forum) but my phone still wont boot into anything, it is completely black and wont boot into recovery or fastboot, and im running out of ideas on how to fix this phone :crying:
After pretty much giving up all hope of fixing my phone, i figured i would try the format option in the flash tool and then reinstall all of the pattitions. I selected format all flash, not doing proper research first, and now i cant even reinstall partions, I get a STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL error anytime i try to flash the partitions.
can you at least get the phone to fastboot mode?

I have already looked through that thread, and i have done everything up to the flashing process, and then I get a STATUS_BROM_CMD_SEND_DA_FAIL (0xC0060003) Error. I looked it up but the only option I haven't tried to solve the issue is to remove the battery, which i cannot do currently because to remove the battery you need a heat gun to remove the screen to get to the rest of the phone. I think I've given up all hope on fixing this phone and may just begin saving for a new one.
