Huawei Ascend XT (H1611) - Tips for Custom Recovery and Rooting? - Huawei Ascend XT Questions & Answers

Hi all,
I am kind of new to android development, so I apologize ahead of time if I ask something dumb.
I recently got a new phone, Huawei Ascend XT and trying to root it.
After searching online, the general way to root is to unlock bootloader, install a custom recovery and install super su.
I got my phone's bootloader unlocked. However, I can't find this device on TWRP and Rom Manager gave me an error trying to install a recovery.
I try to search for this phone on XDA, but can't find anything, maybe it's too new?
Is there a generic approach as to what to do when this happen? Thanks!

when i reinstall custom rom ios9.1 to another rom in my micromax q380 when my goto recovery mode and then my screen become yellow and start blink and phone not start yellow screen continue blink what i do now.tell me its veryurgent

From my understanding there has not been any method to root nor any custom roms developed for the Huawei Ascend XT (H1611). This is common among budget phones like the H1611, it sucks but most talented devs opt for more common, powerful and expensive devices. If you got the time and drive you could always hit the books amd try to learn how and develop one on your own
If someone is looking for a budget phone (~50USD) that has a dev community you might want to look into the BLU R1 HD.

We have TWRP recovery and root. See post 1 in

for instructions.

Out of it...

Hi, I've been on a volunteer project for 3 weeks and before that I had been keeping my phone stock (I was waiting for something I really liked to come out) I've unlocked my boot loader before but I flashed back to .83 and I got into the Moto beta program so I updated officially to the new .91
The problem is: I've been out of this for so long I literally have no clue how to install Alien (Build 4)
Can someone point me to the tutorials I need to follow (In order) to install Alien?\
I also think this could be useful for new Atrix users etc
Seriously?
Open your eyes and read! Or leave it...
OK, re-flash pudding like you were unlocking your bootloader again,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
then install cmw using fastboot
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1204500
then install alien.
If you need more help then that, I would spend some time catching up, if you unlocked your bootloader before, not that much has changed since then.

You have nothing to contribute, and therefore nothing to say. Please act accordingly.
To the OP: CM7 has come out in a pre-beta form since you've been gone. I would try that and Alien both. See which one you like better...

First thing, wrong section to be posting this. Second, you should read up long and hard before trying stuff you don't know about. Third, it's almost impossible to brick your nexus 7 because you can usually recover any android device through fastboot.

Unless you flash a boot loader that doesn't work
None of these are errors...

first off use this toolkit to fix your tablet. This toolkit has everything you need.
With the above program you can insure that your rooted and unlocked. And use TRWP not CWM as your recovery.
P.S. do you know how to get into fastboot mode?
hold volume down and power it on, when it comes up you'll know. use the volume to select which mode.
i Try it
Good lord. Please stop modding your device.
Hey guys, I'm having the same problem with OP, my problem now is it return to the stage before it flash after it flashed. Which means that it shows that it is successfully flashing the stock rom, but when it reboots, it didn't. It goes back to the stage where the rom was before it was flashed. Anybody help please?
I know it can be irritating, but I wish the indignation could be dialed back around here.
I have seen the spam from this poster, yes he should quit the over posting. But to tell someone just to go away and stop, well, I feel differently.
Stay, learn. But research first, you know? And post once then wait for a reply.
As you can see, your current tactics are just making the natives restless.
Being an ESL noob isn't a crime, maybe this person will end up developing the ROM you run next year.
I thought Linux was some sort of specialized hardware earlier in this calender year.

[Q] LG L7 (LG-P705g) restart loop

Okay, this is my first post so I'll try to give as much info as I can about the issue and how I got to this point.
In the past I've installed custom ROMs, But I am having a LOT of problems with this L7. As of right now, it will turn on for about 30 seconds to 3 minutes and restarts. I was trying to install a custom ROM on (CM 10). So, I came one here looking for info on it. found out that the main L7 people use here is the P700 and there isn't much on the P705g.
First I rooted using this link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1906133
Then I downloaded ROM Manager from the play store and got it to install CWM. It wouldn't load up for me at all, and it would just constantly flash the back and menu touch lights when holding vol down and power. At this point I downloaded CM10 for this phone (from what I understand the P700 is basically the same as mine) but I couldn't get CWM to flash up. Found out about the bootloader being locked..
followed this to unlock the bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38231332&postcount=2230
Before I go on, yes, I did hook it up to the computer using debugging mode and installed the drivers. However I cannot get the V10K firmware that everyone seems to like for KDZ (and truthfully I don't fully understand it), my version is V10E
So I used to reboot2recovery.bat in the 2nd link like it said. Excellent! CWM came up! Wouldn't install CM10, said it was "Bad". So I reset it and restarted the phone, and now it wont stay on.
Looked around one last time before posting, and I found this link that had a download for V10K, but I need my phone to stay on to do this! ahaha
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=26341025&postcount=1
Anyone got any ideas? thanks! sorry for the length, I just wanted to cover the bases.
EDIT: Self resolved. The phone is stable once again after I installed V10K Following this guide:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31828740&postcount=1191
hopefully this helps anyone else with this issue if they come across it. Now, to try to get CM10 on it.
EDIT 2: CM10 installed. Buggy, but that's what you get with an unstable version works great otherwise! Noticed when I downgraded to V10K my phones model changed from lg-p705g to lg-p700 as well, which made the whole thing much easier! Picture came out red like this because the screenshot app doesn't like the phone or something. Thank you to everyone who made this possible through your tutorials

How to install a new ROM in the current state of my phone?

I want to install a ROM of the latest android version. I installed a custom ROM a long time ago, I honestly don't remember what I did. I think I used "wug's tool" or something like that. Here's what my phone says:

Where it says GT-I9505G, I don't think it said that originally, when I got this custom ROM it changed to that. It's an AT&T phone (U.S). I'm not very knowledgeable about this, I usually just follow tutorials.
So what method should I use? Any tutorials, links? ROM recommendations?
Thanks.
It's important to know which bootloader is on the phone before flashing anything.
I suggest installing Samsung phone info app from the play store to find the version. Once you know the version, then you can decide how to proceed.

Thanks. I checked, it's the same as the Baseband version you see on the pic.

Add screenshots of the app to check it better.
Since he already flashed a custom rom, I don't think the bootloader is locked anymore.
In theory, you just need to flash a custom recovery (TWRP recommended) then you should be able to flash pretty much any I9505 roms.
I agree that it is unlikely that the bootloader is locked but I believe it is always good to know which bootloader is on a phone before flashing anything.
if Wi-Fi or network signal isn't good on any new rom you try you'll need to change the bootloader if you want to update the modem/baseband.
I installed the latest version of TWRP since mine was outdated. I did a full wipe as instructed in the ROM's page but TWRP refuses to install the ROM after. I keep getting "Updater process ended with ERROR: 7" "Error installing zip file [location of my file/file name]". I am without OS.

Got it. It was not the right ROM for my device.

Does Yureka Yu come with bootloader unlocked and recovery installed?

Hello XDA,
Sorry if this question sounds idiotic but please hear me out.
A friend of mine has an Yureka Yu which he wants to root and install Resurrection Remix on but the problem is he doesn't know anything about unlocking bootloaders or flashing recovery or installing ROMs or gapps.
While I do know the basic steps involved, the thing is I'm only familiar with Moto devices (I've successfully installed LOS, RR and AOSP extended on both my old Moto G 2013 and my gf's Moto G 2015).
Usually I'd just have gone on YouTube and searched for how to unlock the bootloader on the device as there are countless videos on it. But the thing is when I was showing my friend the TWRP recovery installed on my Moto G, he said he has something similar on his device as well, which surprised me. Then he proceeded to open a recovery screen that looks awfully similar to CWM recovery (I think that's the correct name?)[Please keep in mind that my friend is an absolute noob about this, so it's impossible that he has installed the recovery]. As I'm unfamiliar with that recovery, I decided to ask for help here so that I know everything before even attempting to install anything on his device.
Thanks beforehand.
No, it doesn't come with preinstalled custom recovery but some of YU devices have bootloader unlocked Out of the box. Mine also came with unlocked bootloader and if you visit YU forum you'll see there are many users who have similar situation.
Did you see the device? Cyanogen recovery and CWM recovery looks similar so he might have confused it since he doesn't know much about these things.

That's stock recovery.
As I said CWM recovery and Cyanogen recovery look little similar. So you've got stock recovery and you've to change it if you want to flash custom images (I guess I don't have to tell you that ).
