my build number is not xx, it's the number associated with EE UK...
It has worked for some though, in case how I flashed it is why I've ended up with an EE build here's how I installed things...
1) Upgraded through LGUP using this build.
2) Allowed the ROM to boot.
3) Wiped everything through recovery.
4) Restored my backup from the computer.)
If you're on EE UK you don't have to wait for our carrier to release their Android 7 update if you have a bad mobile signal.
As until Android 7 to access WI-FI calling on EE UK you were forced to use EE's ROM.
On the V20a Open EU ROM WI-FI calling on EE UK works.

Did you flash this over a EU Open ROM or a EE ROM? If EE any dialogues pop up on startup?

Flashed over an EE ROM... But hard reset after the flash from the boot menu as it would only allow me to refurbish through LGUP. Wi-Fi calling works fine and I'm well happy with the Android 7 experience. ?

I turned it on in marshmallow, ee never activated it for me. You are supposed to get a txt notification when they activate i got nothing. Ive just toggled it off and on under nougat, nothing happens. Maybe because i have a legacy t-mobile contract with them its not available?

No warnings after startup/reboot mate.
The only thing I'm unsure of is HD Calls on 4g.

Got a hp laptop with USB c. Lost the adaptor

I believe it is unfortunately, WiFi calling only activated for me when I entered an EE 4g contract.
Although on EU stock ROM Marshmallow, for me there was no WI-FI calling option.

I had this working perfect on all the EE marshmallow builds. Using a clean install of the OPEN EU v20a I can't get this working though.
No wifi calling option, same build number as OP but my software version is v20a-EUR-XX rather than v20a-234-30.
I know that 234-30 is the UK country code 234 and EE mobile network code 30, and as the OP installed the generic build, it must pick up on something which binds that software version to the MCC+MNC. I know it's active on my account as I've used it for ages. Any ideas?

I sent my EE LG G5 for repair and after 2 repairs due to horrible battery life (bought directly from EE on their ROM) they replaced it with a refurbished handset which is unlocked and have just upgraded to android 7 (v20-EUR-XX) but have no WiFi-calling icon.
What is this Open EU ROM that you guys are talking about and can I flash it on top of v20-EUR-XX without wiping?

It's configured itself as a UK build on EE which seems to be why WI-FI calling is working.
I believe you should be able to use LGUP to flash this build as you're on nougat already.
For information I had to upgrade as refurbish wasn't an option and then I did a hard reset... Maybe somehow that configured my build number to work on EE network.
Previously on marshmallow when I used LGUP and the 'stock" EU firmware provided here

Maybe it would... Due to a few apps not liking root and the faults I've had with the screen on this device... I've not rooted mine or installed a custom recovery. I use Adguard to block ads and disable apps and permissions, I'm happy enough.

New T710 Firmware T710XXU2BOL6 on Sammobile

I see that there is one firmware higher then BOJ1 on Sammobile...
T710XXU2BOL6. Its there for download so I figured I would point this out.
I personally have tried "Kies/SmartSwitch" and OTA and nothing will trigger this update.
Anyone have any insight into this? Also there is no source yet for it. (I have requested it)
Anyone running this yet?
Be careful with that update. It is a revision 2 and will likely be incompatible with revision 1 firmware and may prevent downgrade.
You are correct about downgrading but I've been running the Cellular South US version for awhile now and it's actually running fantastic.
For me it felt like a big improvement but I suppose that's more subjective...
If you're in the US, the Cellular South XAR is the one you want to flash...

No. I just ODIN'd it and that was it.... I generally will factory reset anyway but doing this shouldn't wipe your data..... Just remember that the new bootloader is a one way trip....
So 5.1.1 is a huge improvement over 5.0.2? And if I FLASH official firmware from sammobile my tab won't loose data and knox won't be tripped? Rly want to figure out how to get 5.1.1 and root ☺

What do you mean by that?
According to Sammobile it goes BOJ1 and then BOL6...
Speaking of that.. any chance you could make a BOJ1 kernel that allows for root?
I would ask for a BOL6 but there is currently no source yet. (I have requested it)

It's bootloader 2.. Notice the b2 in the build number... Previous builds were a1, a2 or b1... You can't go backwards with bootloaders... You're going to be able to flash future releases that are b2 or higher

Oh right.. having a note 4 etc.. I knew that.
I thought it might have been something different.
The larger question is what is up with OL6...
It shows up when you use Kies to update the firmware but not when you use SmartSwitch or try to do it via the Tablet's settings menu.
T710XXU2BOL6
T710XXU2BOJ1
Are the two firmwares I was referring to.
Thank you for explaining the build numbers. I didnt realize I could tell the bootloader from the build number.
So it appears they have the same bootloader.
The previous one that had a different bootloader was OH7.
This isnt an issue because I wanted to get away from OH7.
So if I'am running atm T710XXU2AOJ4 is this bootloader rev1 or 2 ? I see the 2 number in the PDA code. :/
Edit:
So ok atm there is 2 regions that got 5.1.1 canada and cellular south, that one with unknown looks with bootloader rev 1. Anyone from Europe can confirm that it's safe to flash the one with cellular south? Would like to get the 5.1.1 that try rooting it. ATM root should work with T710XXU2BOJ1? The custom permissive kernel is compatible with this firmware?

The bootloader is the 4th to the last letter in the build number.
So if you are "A" then once you flash ANY "B" build you will be bound to any build with a "B" in the build number etc.
However it seems you must be on 5.0.2...
Dive right in.. there is nothing wrong with 5.1.1 the only 5.1.1 version so far that seems to have problems is the first one OH7.
However you also need to flash the build for your region. For example Cellular south is XAR etc.
Use "smartswitch" you dont need to update the firmware but look at the prompts for the update. It will tell you what it suggest for an update before you give the OK. This is the easiest way to see what region code your tablet is.

XEO PDA T710XXU2AOJ4 CSC T710OXX2AOJ1. It was, now I flashed 5.1.1 boj1 south cellular with Odin and rooted it. One strange thing in 5.1.1. It looks like in 5.1.1 auto brightness is changed I can't use the slider in notification tray to increase or decrease the auto brightness. It just turn off the auto brightness. Rly annoying and looking how I could fix that

Not strictly true. It is possible to flash to an A build from B as long as they are both Revision 1(U1).
Revision 2(U2) usually prevents downgrade to U1 firmware.
The 3 characters after the B or A refer to the build date.
I.E.
O is 2015
L is December
6 is the build count.
How do you tell when one is U2?
Anyone try OL6? Wondering why it's not on smartswitch or OTA but is on kies.

So I can go and flash the T710XXU2AOJ4 firmware? Because it's U2? Not liking the 5.1.1 brightness slider. It turn off auto brightness And after flashing oj1 I don't have my language in menu. Can anyone check maybe Canadian version have Lithuania in it? Or maybe that unknown one?
P. S. Maybe someone know where I can find a full guide how to deknox 5.1.1 and what apps can be debloated. Would like to make ROM as light as possible. Thx in advance

I've been on V15 of psouza's image for 930V since its release date. I'm lucky in that i haven't had the issue some have with force closes and infinite bootloops. The ROM i'd say is "settled."...my phone can deep sleep but I wouldn't say battery life is "great" (I use a ton of data hogging apps).
Would you say it's worth it starting over and going to the U firmware? Am I able to achieve the same benefits of the U firmware by simply freezing bloat or are there other things in that image that will make the ROM smoother / better battery? I notice with the 930V waking from sleep can be sluggish sometimes.

I haven't rooted on the u firmware so I can't give the the root aspect it. I believe you would have to use psouza image still. I'm on the u firmware with no root stock. I just wanted the stability back. My phone was getting very sluggish and data was acting really funny sometimes. There was only 1 time I had good battery life with the eng boot. Right now this is my 1 first cycle still need more time to optimize battery. I like it a lot.

I know it's not a lot of hours, but I did a lot of talking on the phone today way more then normal and almost had 4 hours sot. If I get bored I might try like some others have and actually flash a ROM but I hear you need to flash the eng kernel or something after still not sure need to do a little research. I'm not having any issues on the ufirmware besides not having wifi calling and visual voicemail.

The G930U firmware is much smoother than the G930V firmware. HD calling and visual voicemail can be used with a couple mods. I'm rooted on U and heavily debloated, with HD calling and visual voice, and I wouldn't ever consider going back to Verizon firmware.

The root procedure is the same on the U firmware as it is on the Verizon firmware, using the same engineering kernel. You would use the generic S7 or S7 Edge fix by @PSouza, not the Verizon fix.

I just rooted. It is noticeably smoother then on Verizon. My quadrant scores have dropped from when I was on the ufirmware stock. I'll give it a try and see so far seems better then the Verizon firmware root. A lot smoother and I haven't installed tweaks yet. I hope the battery is good will report back. Going to search those Verizon mods for the voicemail and HD calling.

The G930U firmware is much smoother than the G930V firmware. HD calling and visual voicemail can be used with a couple mods. I'm rooted on U and heavily debloated, with HD calling and visual voice, and I wouldn't ever consider going back to Verizon firmware.

Can anyone confirm that after rooting U firmware the xposed framework can also be installed without issue?

I started having issues today ended up getting reboots I think a xposed mod might've caused it. I'm done with rooting for now and sticking to stock ufirmware until some updates come along.

Knowing, you can flash any other firmware over the U firmware, can we Flash the U firmware then China firmware to unlock BL, followed by flashing VZW system and such?
hidden menu and engineer bootloader
Hi, tried all codes to get to the hidden menu, even tried *#06# for imei but didn't work. I wiped data factory reset, and then wiped cache, before flashing the u firmware, any thoughts. Also, noticed do I need to use the original att enboot, and what is the verizon fix just incase I want to flash back to verizon firmware in the future?

Firmware Downgrade Options

Is there a way to rollback to a previous firmware?
I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Sprint variant it's unlocked and I'm using it on AT&T.
I recently upgraded the firmware to the APL 6 version.
I also need help finding a method to root my device and remove all the bloatware.
All the methods I have found so far have been unsuccessful im guessing because its a newer firmware.
Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Since you are on the latest firmware which has the newer bootloader the furthest you can roll back is pj2. Some people have had luck rooting it like this guy but you have to be on pj2

^ beware if you root it on PJ2 you may end up having to unroot. I rooted on PL6 and couldn't call or text anyone. Did 2 days of research with no luck. I heard the same thing happens if you root PJ2.
Also, if you end up needing to unroot, make sure you get the most recent update file. For some reason Odin gives you errors if you use lower firmwares (at least in my experience).
Good luck man.

Why would you wanna go back to previous version tho? I suggest you flash the new firmware, the BQAA, it's Android Nougat. I updated and mine took aprox 20 mins or so. My disabled apps werent reactivated nor installed. Ill give you the apk i used for disabling if you want. You don't need root for it. I successfully disabled ALL bloat i dont need eg. Sprint apps, Amazon apps and etc. Plus, the new features are superb especially that ability to lower your device's reso. although its ugly af. it helps battery, a lot. And plus its much snappier. ill open a thread after a week of my experience to give feedback for those who are afraid to jump in.

The new update has Performance/Gaming modes, i think that'll help. Plus, when you disable the app using a good disabler, it actually uninstall the thing and it will leave it for about 24 kilobytes max is 1mb. Which is barely a size of a photo. When you disable an app, it doesn't run nor slow your device because it's disabled. But it's your call budd. I suggest that you try it out first, give it a chance and save yourself a hassle of flashing unofficial firmwares with the risk of bricking ur 800 dollar phone. my opinion tho, it has gotten even snappier with the update. been using it for 2 days now, im opening a review thread after a week of using it for people that are afraid to jump in, u might wanna wait for that if u want. anyways, good luck!!!

Hey guys. Just need a lil help to straighten out a lil issue i have. I also have a sm-g930p unlock using overseas (outside the US). So i flash it over with the latest fw of sm-g930U. Which i think i regret doing it. My problem now is i'm a little bit fraid. I just want to know if i need back the latest fw of sm-g930p with same or newer build date to flash back. Or can i just grab the recent one on sammobile which as yet for sprint it only has the may security patch. Because the one i have install is june security patch. Meaning the kernel is 3.18.31 june 19 build date.. in these case should i wait till it's uploaded which I'm hoping but no sure it would have same kernel numbers. Meaning i would even have to wait further more for July security patch fw ??? Please help so confuse which would be my best option not to brick my phone on rolling back..

I'm ok with delayed updates but more than a week is honestly unacceptable. Especially since T-Mobile and OnePlus are trying to push this as being almost the same as buying unlocked. (I know they have listed differences and mentioned delayed updates) but if you ask a regular sales person they will brush most of that off. The only reason i'm keeping my T-Mobile OP is because i want to experiment with trying to flash the global OOS when it's available.
I think everyone is overreacting about delayed updates...I think most of us are just gonna unlock the bootloader after the first month..which means Roms which means that ur updates will no longer come from TMO.. Everyone needs to relax lol.

My question is why would a random custom ROM work but not the global OOS? If the modem can't be modified then why would a random ROM work. Also if the modem can't be modified because it's specific to T-Mobile how would the phone work on other carriers once unlocked? What they are telling us isn't making a whole lot of sense.

It's a possibility that the efs partition is locked and can only be modified by a signed ROM. The global OOS could be expecting this partition to be open as on the unlocked version.
The global OOS could be modified to simply not update this partition. Just like a custom ROM would only update the system partition. But out of the box, the global OOS might not work.
This is just speculation, or it could be corporate speak just to deter this kind of process. We'll find out once we start getting our unlock bin files.

No, but it's possible to be updated during an official update. You'd be able to use any sim as the radio info is already written to the partition. I'm literally just spitballing. In all honesty, I'm expecting it to just be corporate speak to make their new partner happy. I don't think we're going to have too many issues converting one phone into the other.

All Note FE Android Pie discussion here.

Alot of people did not expect to get the android P but here we are with the mighty note packing the latest and greatest. I honestly use my fe more than my note 8 it's slim, not too small not too big and it's battery hold up surprisingly excellent.
A part of getting the update was the changelog wich mentioned there is " lift to wake" feature which I assumed can be found in the settings specifically in advanced features but I looked and it wasn't there I looked up xda and couple of sites found nothing about that any idea what went wrong and why I can't see it?

Hi, can you tell me how to do this, to downgrade from Pie to Oreo?
The Pie update ruined my phone for me which was the primary reason I got it. Now I can no longer use the dual-sim + sdcard mod, and I need to access my sims as I'm overseas and cannot get a replacement. The mod is irreversible.
Is there a way to go from Pie back to Oreo, without using Odin (what is Odin?) or any USB method?
Another problem is my phone can't communicate with USB, I should have sent it in for warranty when I had the chance but didn't. I can use "Update from SDCARD" in bootloader though
The only way to downgrade is using Odin. Its very easy. Go to Sammobile look search the firmware section for the Note FE you have look for Android 8.0 download it, there will be a download for Odin also. Once firmware is downloaded extract the firmware. Once odin is downloaded extract it. Open odin connect device make sure it reads device. In odin click BL..go to firmware find BL put in BL spot in odin. Then click AP in odine find AP in firware add to odin..do the same for CS and CSC files click start. If you dont know how to use odin you really need to go to youtube or something and watch a couple videos..its basic flashing.

To be honest I find oreo much faster and stable. I didn't notice a big difference with the UI I think it's more organized. There is a new night mode but it doesn't apply for everything and some apps gets weird colors. The fingerprint is definitely faster and more responsive. I'd say battery is about the same. Yes, you do not need to be rooted to use Odin. Try a factory reset first then Odin.

i'm not sure this have been posted or not but the Pie update do cause my wife phone random rebooting... originally i taught it might be hw damages as the phone sometimes even failed at the boot screen (not even reaching the samsung logo and stucked at the galaxy note screen) this is why i've suspected hw issue as at that stage the phone sw should be still totally not loaded yet. Somehow after a hard reset the phone seem back to normal. This not same case as my own note fe where during oreo already having random rebooting issue and the only solution was lower the cpu clock to 1.35GHz for its big cores.

Fady make sure you are not on battery saving mode also some of programs are optimized and won't work in the background so they don't drain battery you can disable that and everything will back to normal also make sure auto sync is turned on.

Wifi is always turned on even if the screen is off there is no longer an option for that. If you are to a hotspot wireless connection then your phone probably restricting data. make sure the app is not optimized and check background data as in pictures showing. I highly recommend a full hard reset after update to avoid weird glitches.

Hi,
Does anyone rooted N935L (LG) edition?
I tried instructions for N935F/DS to root, but it ends up with "No Sim / Sim Card" Error and my IMEI disappears. Similar instructions from N935F/DS worked for N935L in Nougat. So, after upgrading to Pie using OTA, I tried instructions for rooting Pie. Everything went fine, but on the first boot itself network is gone. Now I cannot go back to Oreo or Naugat because of Bootloader.
I had to to flash Pie (from Updato) again using Odin and then I got the network back.
Can anyone help on how to root N935L..?
Thanks in advance.

Do a HARD RESET from phone or better from factory recovery( turn off phone, pres at the same time volume up + home button + power on button and wait until first logo shows than let go of power button and than ull see recovery many after 10 initial seconds of blue android logo screen) than go to factory data reset with volume down and confirm it with power button. Ur phone will be reset to factory settings.
