Bricked Galaxy S7 - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S7 Questions & Answers

Can someone please help me out. I am a total noob at stuff like this. I have an AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge and succesfully rooted it the other day. Upon installing another app my phone was bricked (screen that reads unauthorized software has been put on AT&T device).
From reading and searching I am assuming that I have to flash back to the stock ROM. Can anyone please guide me through this endeavor, or lead me to a post where it has already been done? Thank you in advance.

You need to find the correct firmware for your device. I'm not sure where the thread is for it but once you get it use Odin to load the firmware and flash through Odin

You can use the Odin pj4 files to restore. Just Google how to use Odin. The pc side is self explanatory just put the phone into downloaded mode.

I have tried several versions of Odin and stock firmware for the s7 edge. Everything is failing across the board. I think I am just making it worse lol

Why don't you tell us what version of the phone you have exactly? Then maybe you can get more useful advice.

Unrooting to stock rom?

Hi,
I have been rooting my note 4 since it came out and familiar with any problems that may occur with kernels and stuff...
I decided to sell my phone and put it towards an S8 when i t comes out, i am sending my phone to Mazuma Mobile but wanted to unroot it first but the stock firmwares i am flashing though Odin are stuck on the Samsung start up screen.
I am not sure about unrooting and need some help, the latest firmware i have tried is "BTU-N910FXXU1BOC5-20150423120804" - i have the N910F model but it wont load beyond the Samsung bootup screen.
Anybody give me some help please and maybe point me to the correct firmware that i should be using?
Appreciate any help.
Thank you.
Think i need to use the latest firmware - N910FXXS1DQC3
Can someone point me to somewhere i can download this please?
Every link i check asks me to buy an upgrade account to down load this firmware.
Cheers

Help on which firmware to use.

I am about to root my Samsung Galaxy S7 - SMG930VLUDU4CQH2 for the first time and I am gathering the files for the job. I have read every post from the thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...eres-how-rooted-nougat-s7-edge-g935t-t3567502 . I have the Qualcomm heroqltetfnvzw version so I am sure that I am using the correct thread. The two questions I have are :
- just in case something goes wrong, which stock firmware would I use to get back to original state? The BQA2, BQH4, or the BQA4? , after the Nougat upgrade mine is the CQH2.
Secondly, I have also been reading on the Magisk technique to root and was wondering if anyone has possibly tried both of these out and has compared their stability and lag (or lack of lag)? I understand that that it varies from device to device, I am just talking about the technique.
I have actually read so much that I am getting myself confused on this whole process. Lol. Thank you in advance for your help and I have started following several of the members. You guys rock! :silly:

could you post some links. I wasn't able to find anything searching that.. I'm hoping there's an option. Hard find for a galaxy j3 mission.
I have this phone laying around. It does not have a charge port so no way to hook it up to PC. Also I don't have a SD card but if you can tell me how to get things off of it I'd be more than glad to help.

Looking for a bit of help with my Samsung S7 edge

Hi, I have a bit of a problem with my S7 Edge, i've explained it here (https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/help/samsung-s7-root-reversal-t3871313#post78250342) someone answered me and re directed me here.
If anyone has a fix that would be great, im in a little bit of a pickle.
So you've tried to root and failed and you have flashed a boot image and now you're soft brick. Is my understanding correct?
Try Odin flash firmware from Sam mobile. Find your model and version and flash that through Odin. I'd find you a link but I'm not at home right now. Google should be able to show you how to flash firmware through Odin. Disclaimer is that I don't know exactly all the details in your situation and this is general advice. Other disclaimer is technically not my responsibility if you brick your phone from following my instructions. Then again guess it can't get much worse.
Also don't listen to the guy on the other thread with Magisk not playing well with touchwiz. It works fine with my s7 edge at least on nougat which I'm on.

Samsung s7 edge Rooted HELP!

My Samsung galaxy s7 edge (G935F) Is stuck in a boot loop and doesn't have an OS installed. Bit unsure what to do. I have tried installing a stock rom and for some reason when I try to copy a zip file to team win TWRP,(and I have MTP enabled) my laptop says this device has either stopped or isn't taking files? Anyone with any ideas please respond and don't tell me try take it to Samsung and ask for a fix cuz I tried that and they said we don't fix rooted stuff. I took it to a phone shop once and they said try flashing a custom rom with Odin. Reply here with any ideas! Thanks!
hey and welcome to xda!
the best and easyiest way is to start new - flash your firmware with ODIN - that will work in every situation!
You need to download stock firmware and start afresh. Stock firmware is the image of the official firmware that came (or updated officially) with your device.
Go to Sammobile and select model number and then your country. Since you didn't mention your country, here's the link that will directly land you to your G935F firmwares: https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s7-edge/SM-G935F/
Once you select country, you can read instructions on how to flash the image with Odin (link is also provided there).
Hope this helps Please feel free to ask any query. Happy Flashing!
