My 2 cents: XTrons TD101AS 10" / 2 DIN Adroid 5.1 head unit ... - Android Head-Units

At first: egnlish is not my native tongue, so please forgive me any mistakes in grammar, vocab aso
2nd: I did this tests with the unit on my desktop!
Unpacking: good packaging, different slots for harness adaptors, dvd in-slot drive underneath the screen, lots of ports (2x micro SD + 1x USB at front, 3x USB rear, GPS with fakra (!), ISO harness, 2 harness adaptors for analog audio out, external mic aso
The screen is mounted with 6 miniature screws, better cable than Joying uses - but difficult to mount in car and the port on the tablet is not secured; when connecting the cable you press against the electronic board in the screen - should not be done too often I think
Start up (cold start): after 30 seconds the last source (for testing DAB+ radio) is started automatically, then after 15 seconds bluetooth connection is established and GPS FIX is done (I use an external multi purpose antenna from "Antennentechnik Bad Blankenburg" for analog radio, DAB+ and GPS). For a few seconds the responsibility when touching the screen and starting aps is a little bit slow (loading data in the background I think), but later on it's OK
WiFi is a peace of crap: my fritzbox router stands only 1 meter nearby but I only get speeds about 1 (!) to 30 Mb/s - thats poor! Loading navigation maps is near to impossible ... I installed MapFactor with Tom Tom maps - they have a pc program for map management so you can download the maps on your pc and store them on the gps micro sd card!
Bluetooth is working, internal mic is poor, could not test external mic (is installed in my car - hopefully it will work better). I had to re-pair my cell phone once - don't know why, after that everything worked like expected
GPS is OK when using a good antenna - had a fix immediately after startup. If GPS signal is not strong enough, now fix will happen, even if 20 sats are in view! (Antenna on my desktop near the window - no fix! Antenna outside the window - immediate fix)
DAB+ (external USB receiver) works absolutely OK with the external antenna - the mini antenna for the front window is useless! Needs a few seconds to "lock" the radio station - I had to make a new search one time as no radio station could be locked (about 1 minute for the scan) but then everything worked fine again.
FM radio: absolutely OK with my external antenna. May be worse during driving but here on my desktop it's good enough for me - and I have DAB+ too
DVD: Needs about 10 seconds to read the DVD (or start the app?!) but then everything works ok
External 3G dongle (3GDON008): a peace of crap, whas unable to connect using my constar prepaid SIM, neither on the head unit, nor on my pc. And as it connects to the head unit using the poor inbuild WIFI is won't be as fast as expected ...
Easy connect works with my Sony XPeria Z3 compact at once, a little lag but absolutely OK for me. You can modify the volume level from navigation voice to "normal" sources. You can switch between total mute of other source during navigation voice or mix it - missing the option to lower volume of other source when in mixing mode.
You can adjust the stand by mode up to 2 hours - in standby it needs about 0.4 ampere (5 Watts/hour) otherwise up to 1.5 ampere (18 Wats) when screen brightness is set to full
In factory settings you can enter individual volumes for every source (didn't tried it yet), different CAN BUS protocols, enable button lights, select car logo at startup and many more
If only they had used a better WIFI chip / antenna ... OK, a PX4 instead the PX3 and 2GB Ram would be nice - and a parrot bluetooth module, in build DAB+ with seamless blending and in build 3G module - perhaps in 2017?
The support at xtrons uk web site is - useless. They are friendly and you'll get an answer to your question but they could never give me an answer that realy helped ...

Can you post a screen shot of your settings/about device screen that shows the MCU version ? - its sounds like you may have an MTCB/B or MTCD unit and there are specific sections for them . . ..

HI. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Just installed my TD101AS unit. When you tried easyconnected, did you use the front USB port or one in the back of the unit? I tried to screenmirror with my Galaxy s7 edge but no luck. I used the USB in the front of the unit. Can't pass step 2, related to installing mob Internet connection of my S7.
Thank you in advance

I did use the front usb port with no problem - perhaps you have to enable developer mode on your galaxy ? Missing rights on the app could also be a problem here.

I ve never had any success with Easy Connected and Android phones, its only ever worked with friend's iphones, ironically.
I did once have a strange "car dashboard app" or something install on my phone and Easy Connected server, but no mirroring.

Thank you for your reply.
Yes I have enabled in my phone. I also tried with MTCDMirroring and it works ok, but not with easyconnected.
I will try to find a more recent version of easyconnected (maybe the version that came with the head unit is not compatible with android 7....)

So I found a newer version (3.4.3.6), at xtrons's forum:
http://forum.xtrons.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=143967&title=tcd761al-easy-connected-app-wont-connect
Installed it and it partially worked. For a brief moment I can connect my phone to the head unit. However, after a few seconds, a message pops up in my phone saying something like "The connected device is unable to access data on this device. Reconnect the USB cable and try again". Then it asks to install "samsung smart switch" or "android file transfer" (it happened before and I had already installed these, but I don't know how to fix this)

Are there any Chinese HU's without any problems?

Wow, just when you think you've found a headunit that is perfect, what happens instead? You read some reviews that are written after the user owned it for a short amount of time, and then you discover the problems.
Is there an Android HU that gets good FM/AM reception? Doesn't need to be rebooted? Won't disappoint? I previously got burned on a cheaper model and don't want to repeat that again. Hell - I could have just gotten a Kenwood and avoided all the headache and a $195 install job.
Hi,
I think that depends on your definition of "problems". My definition of a real problem is when there is no solotion on xda developers
OK, first I would recommend that you buy a head unit that was made for your car brand and model if available. I own a 2013 Skoda Rapid (similar to VW Polo / Golf, no "dirty" jokes please lol) and bought a VW specific model ("Autopumpkin" (reseller) 2 DIN for VW, RK3066 processor with Android 4.4.4 @ 800x480px, firmware is KLD2).
Installation: Plug in the quad lock CAN bus and the head unit was ready. Nothing else to do.
AM/FM:
In some cases, your car antenna needs +12V power to work properly. My head unit has a "phantom power adapter" (don't know if this is the right word in english). If you don't connect +12V to antenna, the reception is awful, I only received 4 stations with poor quality. Once the pantom power was connected (in my special case, I also needed a FAKRA adapter to connect the head unit with the car antenna since the plugs from the head unit didn't fit in the car connector), I received 18 stations (more can't be saved) on 88-95MHz (band goes from 88-108 here) using auto scan mode.
"Doesn't need to be rebooted":
I don't know exactly what you mean, would you like to specify that? The head unit can't be always on due to the high power consumption which would kill the battery very fast. Boot time is about 20-30 seconds but it remains about 5 minutes in standby if you pull out the ignition key.
Sound quality:
If sound quality is as important for you as for me, you MAYBE have a problem with those cheap head units but that also depends on what you like to do and to what kind of music you do listen.
On FM, sound quality doesn't matter for me because I use FM only for traffic announcements and news / documentary). The built in EQ is not the best one, at first I was thinking about to send the unit back because of the bad quality. After some days, I tried Poweramp with it's EQ and the difference was HUGE. Sounds better that the original car radio. Later, I tried Viper4Android (EQ app) since the Poweramp EQ only works for Poweramp and I thoght better radio sound quality would not be bad, but AFAIK AM/FM (and Bluetooth) sound output is not processed in Android what means only the build in EQ can influence the sound quality of that parts.
Traffic announcement (TA):
But one thing about TA feature does really drives me crazy: If you have enabled TA and the radio app detects traffic announcements (what happens also if the radio is in "background" respectively not explicit opened), a "modal popup" appears and you can't do anything (you can't skip TA or switch to another app) but vol up / down or disable TA with the "Close" button at all what means that you have to go to the radio app and enable TA again manually.
Bluetooth:
Bluetooth works much better than expected. If I get into the car in the morning, my phone (Sony Xperia Z2 with stock rom) connects with the head unit in seconds. If I press the "Play" button in the head unit's bluetooth app, it almost instantly continues playing my Spotify playlist from the phone (Spotify app doesn't work on my head unit, don't know why...).
3G / Wifi:
About 3G: Sometimes the HU loses connection because the power supplied by the USB ports is not enough. In that case, I have to power off and on the unit again (but "soft" reboot, done in seconds). Wifi (if you use your smartphone as hotspot with teathering) does work very well but not on distances over approx. 10 meters.
About GPS:
The GPS signal fixes very, VERY fast (2-5 seconds, but thats maybe because Android fixes the signal at boot time) and the supplied navigation app (iGO Primo) can calculate a route from south germany to a random forrest in Poland (I tapped on a random place on the map) approximately 1500km away in less than 10 seconds.
Dual way CAN bus:
Does work with my car, I can control radio stations via the buttons of my on-board computer / MFD (Multi Function Display as called by VW, my car doesn't have SWC) and the MFD shows the station frequency. I can also control the Media Player App (next / prev track, not volume), but only the built in one, not Poweramp.
Conclusion: If there is a HU for your specific brand / model, you should not have as much trouble as if you buy a generic one, especially with installation. You should have at least some basic Android, car and technical knowledge and (most important) the will to play around with your device, try out new apps, firmwares and roms, play with the settings etc... If you want a real plug and play solution, you maybe have to pay 1000€ / $ +. You get what you pay for
I hope my reply was helpful.

My question is: Is there an American/Japanese/Anywhere else head unit that can do as much as these Chinese head units??

New Android 7.1.1 PX3 Unit from BonRoad - Any Info or Feedback?

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/pr...32699671881.html?spm=2114.12010612.0.0.KbDCzA
The UI and other specs are very similar to the HotAudio test preview (thread here). Has anyone had a chance to get their hands on one of these yet? I'm deciding between this or a Joying unit.
Any input is appreciated!
PX3 RK3188 Android 7.1.1 DVD VW GPS 2G ram
Just received and installed this Head unit in my vw touran 2004.
It looks like the specifications are the same : https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/Pure...32582906631.html?spm=2114.13010608.0.0.UFTkAD
The unit is a Bonroad C1120801A4/A5 (RK3188 Android 7.1.1 Lecteur DVD de Voiture pour Octavia Fabia Praktik EOS GPS Navigation Avec 1024*600 HD 8 "
So far, i'm satisfied with the unit :
- Radio is now working and stable .RDS works fine (with the last DCMU update). (You need to put a double fakkra antenna plug to get the radio stable on vw cars)
- GPS IGo is fine but not in French, Waze great
- canbus is functional
- Wifi rear camera ok
- BT external micro (mono) installed, i need to shout/YELL (it is an issue...)
When calling, both mic works (front mic and ext. roof mic)
google voice research unusable
I'm waiting for documentation from the supplier as there were no instructions in the box.
Do not hesitate, if you need more informations, pictures and tests. :good:
I tried Kingo root but it failed.
I also bought a car radio on aliexpress similar to yours. Px3 cortex a9 for ford focus c-max.
I have exactly the same worries as you with the microphone, the one integrated in the facade I have to stick my mouth on and scream.
The one who plugs externally is the same thing.
Many people talk about a worry with frequencies that are not the same in china and here
300-3400 for china
50-7400 for others
If you can root your device you can change the frequencies with Pimp my rom.
Personally I can not root it.
Thanks for the feedback. What's the boot time on this thing? Does it have a sleep function similar to Joying units?

About 15 to 20 seconds to boot. For sleep functions, I have nightlight or 15s 30s 1mns ect ...
I've the same unit but it doesn't detect OBDII adapter. Any solution?
After trying everything to get the microphone that works for the handsfree kit, I decided to cut the 4th leg of the bluetooth module and solder a mono microphone directly on it. This was my last option because I did not have the c32 connector. This has been a success. People hear me very well now.
I have ordered this one - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4-C...32691433062.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.MbBrvn. Waiting for the the item to arrive. The seller would ship it on 17 July 2017 (Monday).

Can you try the following and see if this gives you root access:
Goto factory settings and instead of typing 126 type *#hct#root#
This may give you temporary root access. Now you can install supersu or magisk to make the root permanent.
Note: I don't have this device or have not used any other Android HU; so I have not tried the steps mentioned above. I found this on the internet. Please try and let us know the result.

Anyone managed to fix the bad Bluetooth call quality? Any luck with getting root access?

Hello, I bought this unit, but the 9-inch model without buttons and I do not use the search for voice, the free hands works perfectly for me, but for voice searches they do not work with the internal or external microphone.
Nor can I get programs with self-starting like the Radardroid service start only with the start of the radio, I have to manually activate it at each radio start.
I also have no rear camera, only parking sensors, and every time I put the reverse gear turns off the screen and the voice of the radio to try to connect to the back camera even if I do not have it, this did not happen with my previous radio with android 4.4, only with this new one with android 7.1.2.

Well you're right, if I have the auto sleep option enabled, but programs like Radardroid can not start automatically with the radio, I always have to start them manually.
Hi everyone!
I have a similar unit.
I think that the problem is with android version. In our case 7.1.1.
I had a problem with my OBDII reader and I updated my unit to 7.1.2 and fix it
Now with 7.1.2 I have the same problem with microphone and also I have a problem with USB cameras. Only the DVR app can connect with but only the first time. If I close the DVR app and open it again, camera dont work.
I want to use the USB front camera with Mapillary and iOnRoad but I cant.
Any idea?
Where can I donwload a previos android version? for example 5.1.1 or 6 perhaps its would fix the problems.
Thanks!
I've had a Hizpo 7" no dvd with buttons mcu xrc 2.54 android 7.1.2 2gb 16gb for a week. Came this way so I can't say about previous versions.
My bluetooth microphones (both) work fine for me, calls hear me fine. Even just the internal mic seems good.
I haven't had any bluetooth connection problems.
Android does not see any microphone, there is no speech input in keyboard settings, google voice search hears nothing. Voice recorder apps hear nothing.
Tried a usb mic but that did nothing.
Can't get usb camera to work for DVR. RCA CVI cam works in DVR but doesn't record, does not work in FCAM app however, though rear does.
OBDII worked fine when I first tried it, haven't messed with it since.
Display clear and good.
Haven't seen any bog, even when running nav, audio, video etc.
Audio is so so, lots of noise. Radio reception seems great and RDS works too. Needs an amp.
Wifi reception is great, just a little antenna on the back.
I really like it but for the lack of voice search. It's really fast, I have a load of apps and still tons of space. Runs everything so far.
Nearly instant on, radio is playing in under 2 sec (probably 1).
GPS works good so far, finds my location in maybe 10 sec or less usually. I haven't been thru Pittsburgh yet to say how well it keep its signal.
I just got MTCtools and dialer and will start messing with them tomorrow, hopefully I can get a mic input to android and get voice working, then this will be really great!

Did a firmware update which was provided by Xtrons support, and also there's an issue with Tasker if you have Tasker automatically start your hotspot when it detects your phone connecting to the unit's bluetooth. You need to install an additional Tasker plugin to fix this, it's called "Nougat+ Tasker Tethering Control".
I have the same unit. Is there a way to prevent all apps from closing when the unit goes into sleep mode?

I am pretty glad about this unit. Android has so much more options and capabilities than my older RNS510 unit.
Some cons that I have experienced is that the unit sometimes restarts itself. I am not sure yet what causes that.
And sometimes when I open multiple apps in a short period of time the unit freezes. The only way I got it to restart is to push the power button for +- 10 seconds.
In the 1 or 2 months that I have this unit, this only occcured 2 or 3 times.
One small little thing is that I wanted to use TomTom Navigation but the 3D view shows a blanco map with only the street names. So I just use Google Maps now.
And I found it very hard to get a decent reception with the DAB+ Antenna from Xtrons.
Overall I am glad with the unit. It is definitely an upgrade compared to my older version of the RNS510.
This unit responds very quickly and has a lot of options.
Let us know what your choice will be!
I'm thinking of getting one of these. What is the boot time?

In the 1 or 2 months that I have this unit, this only occcured 2 or 3 times.
One small little thing is that I wanted to use TomTom Navigation but the 3D view shows a blanco map with only the street names. So I just use Google Maps now.
And I found it very hard to get a decent reception with the DAB+ Antenna from Xtrons.
Overall I am glad with the unit. It is definitely an upgrade compared to my older version of the RNS510.
This unit responds very quickly and has a lot of options.
Let us know what your choice will be!

If you really want to improve your DAB+ you got to find your antenna amplifier in your car and it should look like this... https://www.kufatec.de/shop/media/images/popup/DAB-Antennensplitter-fuer-VW-Golf-7.jpg it fits almost in every Volkswagen/Audi/Seat or Skoda
If so, you have to swap your FM amplifier with a DAB+/FM amplifier, i know Calearo ain't cheap but is european made and it works really well in my car, and i had to install a sharkfin antenna to receive DAB+ and GPS because i had no other option. (sorry for the many adjusted posts, technical problems)
Want to upgrade my android 4.4 MTCB - I use Tomtom as navigation. The PB88UNVP is interesting as is had 4GB RAM. I've read android 8 units have problems with the 3D navigation of Tomtom. Is there a known fix for Tomtom, or is it possible to install Android 7 on this device (don't know if there's a (custom) ROM that works with this device).
ok, got a PB88UNVP. Tomtom - no 3D navigation. Will use an other navigation app.
Unit works fine, but the WIFI connection is not reliable. When waking up, the unit tries to connect to a access point. Sometimes that functions without any problems, but other times it doesn't find any access points (while I know there are). Turning wifi on or off does not help. From time to time, the wifi can't be turned on or off (seems to be frozen on the on/off toggle switch).
I like the unit, bit the wifi problem is a big problem for me. Is this a known bug / problem with this or other devices?

yes getting the same problem on Xtrons PE88jccpl (Android 8, Octa Core) sometimes the wifi connects perfectly but other times getting authenticating, authentication errors. Also, having problems with the speed when its connected it starts out fast and perfect but slows down to .2 to .3 mbps after a couple of minutes. Xtrons support sent me a link to update and I updated both MCU and android but still getting issues. (I put the img and update.zip on a usb stick and once I inserted it asked if I wanted to update) Not sure if I am supposed to wipe the device after updating android

Thanks for your reaction. I also received the download link for this update. MCU 2.88_3 and Android image with build date 20180703.
I installed this update this morning. Checked the wipe everything' option to be sure to have a clean install.
Had the wifi not connecting 2 times today with the new update
I've not noticed the speed collapsing. I did download navigation maps (couple of GB) without problems. When the Wifi does function it functions well, the next time the system wakes up from sleep it's an about 50% chance it functions.
Have you tried downloading the speed test app to test?

Ownice K1 Initial Review

Here's an initial review for the Ownice K1 (2gb ram/ 16gb Rom android 8 version) and from what I can tell, the first one to appear in English.
Background: This is Ownice's new budget model. No built in 4G support, no DVD slot, 4 core processor, slightly lower internal components (Amplifier, Tuner), TFT screen.
I ordered it on the 11.11 sale for about $200 with DHL shipping and added another 9$ for an external Mic. I ordered the version customized for Ford Mondeo/Galaxy/ S-Max.
Also ordered from other vendors: Ownice TPMS system (has not arrived) , Huawei E8372 4G wingle (arrived shortly after the K1 was installed), and reverse camera that replaces license plate light
Ownice shipped it three days later and it arrived in LA four days after that. From there it was brought to Israel by my kind brother.
Initial Impressions: came well packaged with protective film on the screen. Construction seems good. This is a slim unit and nearly all the connectors are breakouts from proprietary pin-outs on the back.
Installation:
Installation into a 2013-14 S-Max was quite easy as it simply uses the same mounting holes as the OEM unit, and the included connector is wired for the Ford quadlock harness. That said, it included no documentation whatsoever.
1) Connect three rear break-out connections to the back (Quadlock harness, A/V in/out cables, External mic input) and plug the included canbus decoder into the harness
1a) Notice that on harness wiring there is a wire that has a locking connector in the middle that comes disconnected. Assume this is for the reverse camera and connect it
2) Connect quadlock, revers camera RCA. External Mic, GPS antenna, and radio antenna
2a) Notice that they did not include a correct antenna adapter, run to local car audio guy and overpay for an adapter
3) (Spend next six hours wiring in a reverse camera through hatchback (not so easy!)
4) Shove all the wiring behind the unit (plenty of room there) and screw it in, replace trim, voila.
Future items:
5*) 4G wingle arrived a day later so I have only used it with the K1 in hotspot mode, which works fine. I have not gotten around to attaching it directly via USB
6*)TPMS system ordered from DX.com has not arrived yet.
In Use: In the realm of chinese android head units it is no faint praise to say that a unit simply works as one would expect it to, and this unit really does just work 99% as it should. I'll only point out some highlights and a few small disappointments:
+Unit powers on as soon as key is in ignition, stays on after car is shut down until door is opened (just like OEM)
+The reverse camera comes on BEFORE the unit is fully booted (right after the splash screen) so no significant delay there (this was a very pleasant surprise)
+No need to attach extra reverse wiring from reverse camera to car wiring, reverse is already wired via quad-lock
+Steering wheel controls work as they did with OEM unit (but mode button cycles through all inputs, even if they are not installed)
+My existing BAFX bluetooth OBD2 connected fine and works with the included version of torque
+Sound quality with OEM speakers is fine, at least on par with OEM head unit (despite what I've read about ST TDA7388)
+External mic is sensitive enough to work installed in hidden OEM mic location (grill behind map light)
+GPS reception/accuracy is better than my phone's
+Screen splitting works, and is useful
+Push the right knob in and the screen goes blank
-Radio tuner is not as good as the oem unit (I expected this)
-Bluetooth popup to answer calls does not appear for whatsapp calls
-Touchscreen could be a tad more sensitive
-built in media player does not seem to support WMA (thanks to yahoo music (RIP) I have a lot of WMAs) so I mostly use VLC
-No printed manual, onboard manual app does not work, and I can't find any manual online, so it took some futzing and going through the C500 manual to figure a few things out.
That's about it. I don't spend that much time driving these days so haven't gotten around to exploring all the settings and features, but so far I'm quite satisfied.
I appreciate the review; some follow-up questions...
Please tell me if steering wheel controls (up/down track) work on all music apps or just the stock one. Also let me know if you hear any background clicks/pops/noise when WiFi is being accessed. How is the Bluetooth calling quality - can callers hear you ok? Finally can the stock radio and Bluetooth apps be used split screen?
Thanks!

1) Steering wheel controls work with all aps.
2) Haven't heard any noises caused by wifi
3) Bluetooth call quality is good, definitely go with the external mic
4) Yes, those apps and most others work in split screen.

Thanks for the answers. One more question, sorry. Does Ok Google work, and/or can you use Google to initiate a call just using voice or microphone button plus voice? Many units "understand" the request to call but fail to be able to put through the call.
Thanks again!

Sorry for the delay in replying.
As far as OK google calls, since the head unit's Bluetooth functionality works as a microphone/speaker, when you run a google now command on the HU, it thinks you want to make a call using the HU, but it has no phone function of it's own, so it cannot place the call. What would be needed is a button on the HU that activates the phone's google now listening. I don't keep my phone in constant listening mode, so not sure how it would work in that situation. Hope that helps.
Here's a few more observations, not entirely good:
1) The steering wheel next and previous track buttons are reversed.
2) There is a problem resuming Bluetooth streaming from my phone. If you push the play button on the HU Bluetooth app after a restart it will freeze and force a reboot.
3) GPS reception is generally excellent with very quick fix, but occasionally for no apparent reason upon startup it will take 5 or so minutes.
4) Even disabling all of automatic time setting, the unit will inexplicably get an hour ahead when booted and then correct a few minutes later.
5) I can't figure out if there is a way to get the Huawei 4G USB router I bought to function as a modem or only as a hotspot.
Hi Doncres,
I've just finished installing my own Ownice K1/G10 unit for my Hyundai Santa Fe.
Installation was a little bit trickier since in order to use the car's original gps antenna, microphone and rear camera I had to cut some wires and change connectors, as well as installing a stepdown DC-DC converter to get the weird 6.5v power required by the original rear camera.
I've been playing a little bit myself with the unit and, given that I'm quite satisfied with it, I would like to know whether you experienced any of the following little annoying problems:
- handsfree call via bluetooth: remote party is always complaining about a small amount of echo
- general audio volume low even at maximum volume (+30), especially for bluetooth phone calls
- the bluetooth active call popup rectangle gets always in the way, even when the rear camera is triggered by the reverse gear, giving some troubles when parking the car and talking to the phone
- Netflix app not working: I had to install an old 2015 version targeting Android 4.4
- parking assistant lines on the rear camera view have wrong perspective angle in comparison to my camera's viewing angle, thus resulting in a projected trapezium rather than a projected rectangle (i.e. the lines are not parallel to actual parking lines); I know I can disable them, however I'd like to change their perspective angle to match the camera
I read somewhere that there are two hidden service menus on Ownice units: the first is accessible via car settings (the "1260" menu) and this works on my unit
The other should be accessible by dialling a specific string in the phone app, however it seems I cannot start the phone app since the K1/G10 comes with no 3G/4G hardware. Any idea on how to enter such menu?
Thanks,
Alberto

Hi, I'm not sure I can really help other than to confirm a few of the the issues.
-Don't think I have an echo issue, but there seems to be a delay until a caller first hears me.
- I get very good volume. I would assume this is an issue of whether the built in amp is a good match for the speakers. Could be an issue with the impedance.
-Yeah, the call button overlay is sometimes annoying, it can block nav screen as well and no way to hide
-I noticed that Netflix was no showing in the app store, but not a big use for me
-the camera I bought has built in guidelines so I disabled them.
-no idea bout the service menu
The only issues that really bother me are:
-the occasional GPS not acquiring satellites, which I now think may be from a defective antenna. I ordered a replacement and we'll see if that helps.
-the fact that if I have an app like stitcher playing, i then get in the car and it stops it when it connects to the BT, but when I go to the BT music app it will either resume fine or if I pres play it will crash the entire device and force a reboot. Mostly I just run streaming apps on the Unit so not much BT streaming anyway.
Also, my TPMS unit finally showed up 2 months after ordering it from DX.com. Looking forward to installing that some time in the next couple of weeks.
Hi.
I am newbie, and i may be wrong in posting the question.
I got 2 din touch Android for Nissan Murano 2018 - model K1, 2 / 16 GB. Ownice 8227L.
On the manufacturer's website, the model has not been supported by software updates for a long time.
Last owner tried to update it with different firmware versions, including those downloaded from this site, and from 4pda. initially did not save the software that was on it from the factory. Now - it has a version of Android installed in which the radio does not work. Everything works, sound files from usb card play, except the radio.
Help me please, where can I get the firmware on it to make the radio work?

Junsun V1 Pro FM reciever stopped working

Hi!
I recently bought a Junsun V1 Pro 4GB + 64GB. And I got, like many other problem with microphone quality. Thanks to (https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ooth-phone-calls-junsun-v1-pro.4166471/page-3) I solved that problem.
And in the process i got new firmware from junsun and updated.
And then i connected headunit in car again and then FM stopped working. (Which was working perfect for a couple of weeks when troubleshooting bad microphone quality)
When starting the unit and then radio app there is a brief noise from radio that fades away quick. The channels are set to 0. And nothing happens if i try to scan for new.
I have triplechecked the connection to antenna, I measured the adapter for cable breaks.
I have tried a ton of settings in 8878.
I'll post screen of current settings, please help me troubleshoot this!

Hi, first things first...
Antenna. It must be connected to a mass (zero) of car in order to work so check that first.
Second... Change Radio chip in system settings and see if it is misconfigured. TDA 7851 is the common one used in this devices.
P.S. in image I see that RDS is OFF turn this ON !

Hi Anton, thanks for engaging with me!
When you talk about the mass connection, do you mean at the antenna side or on the head unit?
I'll try the TDA 7851 with RDS On, but i've already tried a ton of combinations in this menu since problem started.
I thought that reset to factory would also reset these settings but unfortunatley it only reset android.
Anyone know how to get these settings to factory?
Antenna works in that way that when jack is connected into antenna port mass of the car / or units mass - metal casing gives contact. But if it is not antenna case here and double checked, you can also check for a faulty GPS antenna if you have one , if faulty it can freeze radio , I had this problem on my old device. Go to GPS antenna test app and see if signal is constant with at least three satellites if not disconnect GPS antenna from unit and open radio app, see if works without GPS antenna. If yes, replace GPS antenna, buy new one.

For IC Type values i only have these - ST 7786, NX 6686, Si 4702, QN8035,474X, 7708, 7703
And I have now tried all of them, with RDS ON.

Ok, I quadruple checked the antennaport mass and checked GPS on which i have aprox 30 satellites.
Something with update changed your RADIO chip consult with seller or gaver of update
Problem solved now! I reached out to seller. And it turns out that "Radio" has to be in "Menu Icon" in order to function properly. (8878 Menu)
I removed radio since I wanted the button to open phone. Which I didn't got working anyway.
Thank you for helping!
