Device is not detected when trying to flash TWRP - Lenovo A6000/Plus Questions & Answers

okay hello people.
here is my situation.
i was about to revert back to kitkat from ED300 CM12.1, and i suddenly wipe off and formatted my internal storage.
and now ofcourse i cant boot in and what i did was trying to reinstall TWRP through fastboot and minimal adb from PC.
*i tried to flash Lenovo_A6000_TWRP-3.0.2-0_x64-L_by_SevenMaxs
*i cant go into download mode (vol+,vol-,power) button.
so i went to fastboot mode (vol-,power) button until the 'powerkey long press can reboot phone' appear , and i plug in my phone to pc and when i type in command for -adb devices, no device appear.
figure out it was okay, i go ahead and proceed with - fastboot boot recovery.img command.
then it shows
FAILED (remote: dtb not found)
and im stuck there. idk what else to do, which guide to follow to bring my phone back to life.
i have did hours of searching but nothing works. really need a magic here.
thanks guys for ur time

BTW if "fastboot devices" not showing any devices then try to properly install fastboot on computer."fastboot boot twrp.img" is command for boot the twrp without flashing.
try "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img" .
p.s:-Try to flash different recovery file.It may be corrupted.

Here is the possibilities:-
1)May be fastboot is not properly installed .I gave a link in the previous post for that. "device not found" that shouldn't be appear.
2)Try vol+ +power button
3)Try if stock recovery can be flashed by fastboot.Link.if can be then let me know.
4)If not then run this command in adb
Code:
adb shell
ls -al /dev/block/platform/dw_mmc/by-name
and give a screen shot.

Did you flash kitkat ROM after this or before this fuss?
If Yes, then you need to flash TWRP for kitkat firmware.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8_p5nNeW71VRFZnc3cwb2hLR28/view?usp=sharing
download the above recovery and download flashify from playstore . Flash the recovery that you downloaded from above link with flashify and reboot and in the next step you will be in the recovery

Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/len...lenovo-a6000-plus-stuck-booting-logo-t3437378
LP/MM TWRP 2.8.7.7 https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3yAzE4FH2e7RkNQbUk2b0g1T0E/view?usp=drivesdk

[help] Buying a bricked tf300

Hello guy,
I have the possiblity to buy a tf300 wich is bricked. And I would like to know if someone could tell me if it's fixable.
The guy says that he unlocked the bootloader, apparently it worked fine and the he flash a TWRP 2.6.3.0 then it went bad. He says the tablet is directly booting up into recovery (at least that's working) that TWRP says "Omb" whatever that means and that he doesn't see any files into recovery, only folders and subfolders (isn't supposed to be normal, I mean doesn't the recovery only display .zip files ??). He says volume down + power doesn't work, adb gives a " protocol failure" and fastboot is waiting for device (but I'm gessing it's normal since he can't boot into menu obviously fastboot is not working).
So what do you think is it fixable?
Thanks
the guy gave me 2 images of the recovery:

Apparently the password asked on the screenshots is here because the recovery can't mount the storage partitions. Clearly he flash the wrong recovery. He says that he can't get fastboot because he can't install driver (something I could figure out how to do ).
My last question is, will I get fastboot in this recovery, dispite the storage not mounting and the incompatibility?
if yes then I can do a "fastboot getvar all" to get bootloader version and flash the right recovery? What do you think??
thanks

that has append to me couple of times( i think 3 -4 times actually) , if you are confident you can get fastboot and ADB working should be really easy to fix. but ull have to flash ASUS blob file then start over like if it was a new tablet

Yeah I ran into that bug personally and I fixed is in less than 5 minutes with the right setup. Of course, it could be a different situation but there is the chance that it is easily fixable.

You put the wrong version of TWRP on your tablet probably? when you restart and it boots into TWRP, on the starting screen you should be able to use fastboot.
---------- Post added at 04:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:31 PM ----------
When it happened to me, it was a bootloader and TWRP conflict: I flashed the jb version instead of the -42 Version. to fix it, I did fastboot reboot bootloader and then got back into android and flashed the correct one from Terminal Emulator. Or you could just flash it from there.

[Q] Cant enter factory reset mode (devide turned off)

Got an LG G2 D802 which recently was stuck in fastboot only,no download mode not anything at all,
after many tries and errors i managed to boot to download mode and flash an apropriate version.
The thing is from that moment i cant seem to get in factory reset screen through Power Down + Power button as it used on the beginning i press the is im supposed and the phone just normaly boots, never get on factory reset or recovery,I can only enter the recovery via application from playstore called Reboot Recovery.
I can still factory reset from settings but i want to know why i cant enter with the other way and i think it a necessary function to have just in case.
How can i fix this in order to get in factory reset when the device is turned off?
How can i install twrp without autorec because this was the problem which bricked my phone?(download zip and install from current recovery?)which twrp do i need for the following device?
Any info on dorimanx kernel?
Android version 4.4.2
Build Number KOT49I.D80220h
kernel version 3.4.0
Model LG G2 D802

You're running 4.4.2 which is KitKat. KitKat Recovery is accessed by holding PWR + VOL DWN, then when the LG logo appears, switching to VOL DWN + VOL UP. You are trying the old method for Jellybean Recovery.

BEFORE FOLLOWING THIS MAKE SURE YOU HAVE WORKING ADB DRIVERS INSTALLED AND CAN CONFIRM COMMUNICATION WITH YOUR PHONE VIA ADB COMMANDS!
You can install TWRP without autorec, which will result in keeping your KitKat bootloader. This method is also called BUMP. Follow my steps:
1. Download your KDZ from here. If you are already running Stock KitKat, no need.. just continue to step 2. I like to do everything from a clean/fresh installation that's all.
2. Root your stock KK with StumpROOT.
3. Download Bumped TWRP from here.
Extract the recovery.img file from the downloaded TWRP .rar archive.
4. Next we need your boot.img file currently on your phone. We can extract your boot.img to your sdcard by running the following command:
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot of=/sdcard/boot.img
Once your boot.img is on your sdcard, move it to your computer via usb or adb, your choice.
5. Download Windows BUMP Tool.
6. Bump your boot.img file with the Windows BUMP Tool. This will result in a newly created bumped.img file. Delete your original boot.img and rename bumped.img to boot.img
7. Next we need to force your phone into fastboot mode (as much as that might scare you!), we can do that by running the following command via adb/shell.
Code:
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot
8. BEFORE WE GO ANY FURTHER, You should have 2 files on your computer: recovery.img, and your newly renamed boot.img (bumped with the Windows BUMP Tool). Next we need to reboot the phone in order to get into fastboot mode. So, REBOOT.
9. When your device reboots it will boot into fastboot as we nullified the boot partition. We now need to connect our device via adb and run the following commands,
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
These commands require your recovery.img and boot.img to be in the same folder as your fastboot.exe file.
(See the image below for an example)

}
Once successfully flashing your bumped recovery and bumped boot.img, run the following command:
Code:
fastboot reboot
.
That's it! You now installed TWRP without AutoRec, and kept your KitKat bootloader.

Dorimanx Kernel works great with a KK Bootloader, BUT YOU NEED TO HAVE A BUMPED VERSION OF THE DORIMANX KERNEL. All versions of Dorimanx above 9.1 are BUMPED.
I'll try your steps when i go home,
i've got installed the minimal adb driver which i found in my search for fixi g the fastboot problem of g2 i think this will be enough right?
for the twrp recovery cant i install it via sideload?from the recovery that it has now which is not twrp/cwm,its something else i dont know what but it has wipe cache install from cache install fro sideload

That should be okay. As long as you can use the fastboot command and fastboot.exe is present.

I have no idea, I've never used sideload before. I'm just giving you my solution to installing TWRP without AutoRec from the facts stated in your original post. We both have the D802 model and my methods above have worked flawlessly for me multiple times after reflashing a compatible KDZ. Good luck and take it slow.

ZE500KL revert to lollipop bootloop

Is there a fix for this....
I have updated my zenfone laser ze500kl to marshmallow but then i decided to revert back to the .222 firmware...(which is wrong i guess)
So I flashed the zip through the default recovery and it successfully finnished but when i reboot my phone, it is stuck on the spinning circle thing / boot screen... I even let it that way overnight, still no luck.
Is there a way to fix this?
P.S.
I cant even go to recovery from this point, but fastboot is working fine
Offline charging ia also ok so i can fully charge the phone even not booted to android.

then flash with this command:
Code:

it will rollback to factory default, and clean all user data, but keep the files in internal storage.
next time, remember make a backup before you upgrade or modify the phone.

ANOTHER way is unlock bootloader, that's all.

If you mean this screen ^ that is a normal screen that appears, with every power up / restart, after the bootloader has been unlocked.
I think of it as a "red badge of courage".
As to the question about adb commands, what is it that you are trying to accomplish?
Some more information is needed to help you.
What is your model (h870, us997)?
Are you sure you properly installed twrp (reboot to bootloader, fastboot flash recovery twrp.img)?
Which version of twrp did you use (official, Melina, eliminater's (recommended))?
Regarding your adb problem - do you fail to reboot to recovery using adb from within? Have you tried to turn it off and on again?? I mean, turn it off and try the button combination to enter recovery (turn on holding vol- and power, when logo appears, release power and quickly press again and keep holding both until "factory reset", confirm twice).
Information is key!
PS as the previous poster wrote - if you unlock your bootloader you get the warning screen, just ignore it.

the "your device cannot be checked for corruption" screen is normal, it happens when you unlock the bootloader, no issue there, in order to install TWRP you must:
1. plug your phone in and type 'adb reboot-bootloader' to boot into fastboot mode
2. flash the twrp image via 'fastboot flash recovery TWRPIMAGENAME.img'
3. This is important!: type 'fastboot reboot' and hold the rear button and volume down during the shutdown!, when the LG logo shows up quickly release JUST the rear button and press/hold it again, you should see a factory reset prompt screen, press yes both times, and you should be dumped into TWRP, at this point you can reboot from within TWRP and you should be fine.
Explanation:
the stock LG rom with overwrite the recovery if it determines it has been changed, by booting to TWRP before booting the ROM, TWRP will modify the ROM to stop it from overwriting the recovery allowing TWRP to stay after booting.
I hope this helps

THANK YOU SO MUCH .. It works .. The problem was in the buttons.
I have another problem.. When i try to go to recovery..the only what i see is the logo of TWRP and then the phone just reboot and i cant do nothing.. The phone is h870. What i have to do to have normal TWRP because i want to root it..
Try another twrp version. For Oreo afaik only Melina and Eliminater (which is a continuation of Melina) work. I recommend Eliminater's version, it's up to date (v3.2.3) and backup works - at least for me. I'm on H870 Oreo 20b.
For Nougat I have no experience, as I got my phone recently and never downgraded. But as I understand it from others' experiences, for full custom ROM functionality (e.g. fingerprint) Nougat bootloader is preferable. Search the forum, the information is there!

Unable to boot into TWRP recovey

Hi ya'll. I have recently bought a Xiaomi Redmi note 7, and I wish to install a different ROM (Resurrection Remix). Though in order to do so I must of course flash the TWRP recovery. The flash itself seems to be successful as can be seen in the log I attached, but when I try to reboot into recovery it just enters the old default recovery of the device.
I have looked up in the internet and found some possible ways to solve the issue, which all failed. For example trying to enter with pressing power+volume up+volume down, just power+volume up or any combination possible with those buttons. Also tried to use the command
Code:
adb reboot recovery
which only works when the device is turned on and in system mode.
Tried entering with pressing power+volume up+volume down, just power+volume up or any combination possible with those buttons. I have also tried using the command
Code:
fastboot flash boot recovery.img
right after flashing the recovery, and then though to use the TWRP commandlines somehow, but i didn't really knew how actually.
All these trials failed as been said.
The most probable cause I have found for this problem was in a nother forum (can't enter the link for some reason...) stating that when I reboot into the device normally into the system, it automatically installs the old recovery mode again, over the TWRP recovery, and so I must try and enter the TWRP recovery immediately after I flashed it, before I get to reboot into system. But the thing is that when I try to do so, pressing any button combination that is supposed to get me into recovery, just boots the device into bootloader again. Any other combination just reboots into system. So it is possible to get into recovery only when I turn of the device completely, and then try and enter reboot. Though in order to turn it of I must reboot into system first.
So that's my story guys, really hope someone can help me cause the MIUI ROM is just horrible.
Thanks and have a nice one

Well I'm not sure if I understood what you meant, but this is what I tried
Again with no success...
Using the "boot" command didn't change anything visual in the device. Also the command is "adb reboot recovery" and not "fastboot reboot recovery" as you can see in the log.
Still thank you very much for your attempts to help
And fastboot boot recovery.img and the flash the recovery.zip don't work?
Normally ur phone boot the recovery.img without flashing...
Which recovery?
I flashed orangefox

I am note sure what is orangefox, but it seems that I still need to get into the TWRP recovery mode in order to install it.
If you mean to ask which version of TWRP I am using, then I tried a few different versions, including the latest.
As for using the boot first and then flashing the recovery (I guess you meant the "recovery.img" file) that too didn't work, and still goes into fastboot instead of recovery.
But now actually when I tried using the latest TWRP version, and then the "fastboot boot recovery.img" it finally gave me some failure message, though only after I flashed the recovery. This you can see in the attached log.
Thank you very much.
Yup and now I'm stuck in fastboot loop...
Violet? We're here in lavender forum

I'm a big fan :victory:
Yes guys the problem with this specific TWRP version was that it was for violet, though the original problem was still with a lavender version (yes my device is a lavender).
Though I managed to solve the problem eventually, even though I'm not really sure how. I think it is because I flashed a different "boot.img" file.
Since I accidentally used "fastboot flash boot recovery.img" instead of "fastboot boot recovery.img", I erased the device "boot into system" (I think so), then I flashed an original "boot.img" taken from the MIUI stock ROM using "fastboot flash boot boot.img". I'm not sure why, but after that the original TWRP I used finally stuck, and I could get into the TWRP recovery mode normally (using power+volume up).
My opinion is that the original "boot.img" file I had, somehow interrupted flash the TWRP, but IDK.
Anyway thanks very much for the help!!! Have a nice one.

fastboot flash recovery twrp.img
fastboot format userdata
fastboot flash boot boot.img
then when I press POWER+VOLUME UP it takes me back into the damn fastboot. Damn Chinese PoS
Your devices are lavender here recovey for them https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=4349826312261697967
It will boot from the first time.
I'm having same issue with Tecno camon 12, any help will be appreciated

Don't reboot after flashing the recovery in fastboot. Hold the recovery button on your phone
I've solved this in this way:
1. Boot to Fastboot
2. Flash the TWRP "fastboot flash recovery twrp.img"
3. Boot to TWRP through ".img" file "fastboot boot twrp.img"
4. In TWRP interface selected "Reboot -> Recovery"
damn
I have the same problem I'm using a pine (Redmi 7a) phone and god damn that make me angry a friend some how I think he wanned to change rom and it bricked it I mean the firmware is still there but the phone doesn't have ROM neither not a custom recovery all is FASTBOOT the recovery and the bootloader is FASTBOOT and so I tried to flash TWRP the CMD says all is ok flashed and its not ****ING boot to TWRP it boots to FASTBOOT again, any idea how to fix that?
Hello.
I need help, please.
I have a Redmi Note 7 and I tried to install android 13 on it using TWRP, however I made a mistake and using TWRP I ended up formatting the entire smpartphone. I can no longer use Mi-Recovery 3.0 or enter TWRP, because when I click volume up and power nothing happens and the cell phone just starts, because I managed to install its original android using Miflash.
How can I restore or install recovery mode with mi-recovery 3.0 and thus be able to install the newest versions of android?
I also wanted to know if I can install android 13 or others that were not official for my device without TWRP, mi-recovery mode or another that depends on the commands described above, which are not working.
Thanks for the help.
