G928 Source codes released

Hy all,
I love this phone, but one thnig disapoint me : NO roms oO NO customs roms at all !
I have nexus devices before, and all this custom think missing me ,
I read than developers don't love this phone because SAmsung don't released the source code
but I see this on Samsung website :

It's all versions source
It's not enought to start real developpement ?

Source code is not the issue. A locked bootloader is the issue, on Verizon and AT&T anyway.

Cm or aosp no, but you have a lot of roms and kernels in the development section.

the problem is that exynos is not open source, especially some hardware blobs!
that's the reason why qualcomm based devices will get cm and aosp, exynos based devices would need a lot of fiddling and reverse engineering, thus cm/aosp support is often not the case!

Why i9500 didnt have other CM system suppopt

Why snapdragon600 had many rom offical support?
Why Exynos5410 didnt had many offical rom

Samsung's source code for Exynos is both dated and incomplete. Making AOSP or LineageOS ROMs using the source code is difficult. So difficult in fact that many developers stopped developing for Exynos devices altogether. So Exynos is a bad choice if you want AOSP or LineageOS. That is why the bulk of the custom ROMs for Exynos are Touchwiz ports.
Making a device for Qualcomm Snapdragon processors is far easier, as Qualcomm provided all the source code for the CPU. Since all the source code is present, an AOSP or LineageOS ROM is that much easier to build.

Ai~i buy s4to call,in china i cant use TD-LTE,i just choose i9500 3g,now i change my phone to Meizu,i want to play the 9500,but no more aosp/cm/los base rom,i went ro 9505'S forum,just then,im.........

I don't think the problem is about our exynos CPU.
galaxy S5,S6,S7 also have exynos cpu and they all have LineageOS.
I read a post in S5 forum. The first dev make CM 12.1 for S5 said that exynos in S5 is the most terrible. But it have LiOS now.
I think our dev is move to another phone is the reason.

@But_Hacker: It's an established fact developers moved off Exynos on the S4 years ago due to lack of source code as well as documentation. What you're seeing now is not related but is simply because the S4 turns 4 in April, 2017.

Man, s2 and s3 is older than our device and they have CM or L os in android 7.
I think i will have android 7, soon. In this year.

I don't ever recall saying it was impossible, just very difficult. The simple fact of the matter is you have to have developers to do this stuff, and a lot of them refuse to work with Exynos for the reasons noted above.
I personally don't have this problem as my roomie's SIII and my S4 both use Qualcomm processors. Just lucky I guess.

Well i see you post below. You means S4 exynos dev is difficulit because of source code and document.
But S5, S6, S7 now have many document ? that is why they have CM or LineageOS for them now ?

On Exynos or Qualcomm? I don't haunt every Samsung forum, especially as my current device is a Nexus, so what those devices have or don't have isn't something I pay much attention to. I do know however that the documentation, while still incomplete, had improved for the S5 - S7.
I do believe the JDC Team may be able to attempt LineageOS on the I9500. But you'll need to talk to them and get them an I9500 for development.

is there no custom kernel?

All the other device and has custom kernels, which bring improvement and even support overclock even devices with same soc cimo motorola 2014 codename titan, moto and 2015 codename surnia, and redeime 2 msm8916 has incredible kernel and ate super overclock of @ 1.8ghz and gpu @ 720mhz, but ours is not, and when someone tries to kernel pro our devices ends up giving up or abandoning the project.
And sadly sad to look at the xda kernel tab and only see a project that is neither more updated, while we now look at ROM tab and there are dozens of projects,
And sad this lack of motivation and this lack of interest in project development in relation to kernel,

Do any of you know where I can find a kernel for z00t? I have l been looking continuously for over a year and only came across one and the developer stopped working on it after a month or so..

Samsung Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge Exynos Kernel Source Code Is Out!

Hello guys just want some info.
I'm not an expert at software and customizations, but i want to ask you guys some more info about the source codes of Nougat for our Gs6/Gs6e.
So the source codes are released is it now possible to create custom roms like Reserrection Remix, LineAgeOs etc?
Or are those sources only for stock samsung roms? Because it wasnt possible to make custom roms ''AOSP ROMs" when the phones were released, and now samsung released the sources codes so its is possible again like the galaxy s5 to make awesome roms?

This is kernel source code, for good AOSP we need Exynos source code.

The kernel source provided by Samsung is used for every custom kernel compatible with exynos 7420. With the Nougat version of the OS pack, developers can now build full-compatible Nougat kernels for S6 & S6 edge

This mean good pictures quality? Good camera? Or the kernel is different than the drivers?

The kernel is the road between the OS and the hardware, it will translate every informations sent by drivers (example: camera.open) to the dest. hardware.
Famous Exynos sources aren't there, that's only the kernel.
Samsung could release Exynos sources like Broadcom did, just we need a big amount of people and a petition.

Customs roms for Xiaomi Mi Note 2

Hello everyone, we already have Lineage OS and Resurrection remix on our Mi Note 2, what other roms would you like to get ? And I have a question for devs, do you think it's possible to get S8/S8+ rom on our Mi Note 2 ?

I'd be interesting in hearing if there are roms that people are crying out for. Moving between Lineage and RR is very straightforward but most other roms are going to take some time, so having an idea where people want that time invested would be very welcome.
As for the S8/S8+ rom, I'm not sure that it's open source, and without source it's not feasible. Modifying their stock rom to work is beyond practical. There's significant difference in snapdragon and exynos architecture, the S8/S8+ kernel is based on a much more recent version of linux, and presumably makes use of new features and this is all before getting to device level. It would be a great rom to have though! If you know of a rom source that's similar and flexible then I'd be happy to take a look.
