How do I get in to recovery - LG V20 Questions & Answers

I flashed a Rom with no root and Adb is broken on this Rom. How do I get in to recovery without either of those?

Did you figure it out?

Turn off the phone. Hold the volume down button and plug the phone via USB should reboot into fastboot. Then just use the fastboot command to reboot into recovery.

Tried, but I dont think there is a command to do that from FB

You could try to just download Terminal Emulator and type 'reboot recovery'. You shouldn't need root for that command. But then again, this thread is almost a month old - I would hope he had found a solution by now.

fastboot reboot recovery

I downloaded quick reboot from the playstore that works for me

TWRP manager from the app store works as well.

Power the phone off (pull battery if necessary)
Hold power button and volume down key until you see LG logo, release and then press the power button (DO NOT RELEASE THE VOLUME DOWN KEY)
This should bring you to the factory reset menu. Select yes for both questions (use volume keys to toggle and power to select)
If you installed TWRP correctly it will boot to recovery...
If TWRP is gone, it will factory reset and you can get into your phone.

[Q] Question-How do I boot into recovery?

So I installed TWRP on my vzw G2 and I don't know the button combo to boot back into it. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.
I too would like to know
Sent from my VS980 4G using Tapatalk
You can use GooManager to reboot into recovery. But I don't know how to do it when the phone is off.
From another thread:
For TWRP press and hold the power and volume down button. When the LG logo pops up let go for a second and press the combo again. You'll be prompted to press the power button 3 times to wipe the device. Then It'll boot into TWRP without wiping.

That'd be it!
P.S.
It works! All you need is a little bit of practice.
You can also use an app called Rebooter. Works well.
When entering recovery with hardware keys I have read people having problem with twrp installed. Is it completly safe now?
It works if you are on the latest version.

LG G2 stuck at "Fastboot Mode started udc_started()"

Hi everyone. A friend of mine has got a problem with his G2:
I have an LG G2 D802 with rayglob flex 3.5 custom rom. Yesterday I tried to install a custom kernel (dorminax 2.1):
1) I downloaded the kernel for lg g2 802
2) entered in twrp recovery
3) Instal - Flash of kernel 2.1
4) after a few seconds a "Succesfull" message appeared
5) I rebooted
6) phone got stuck with: Fastboot Mode started
udc_started()
at the top left corner

He said that he can't enter the recovery anymore by pressing volume down + power, it doesn't work.
Have you guys any tips? He'd like to recover his data as well...
I guess u installed the wrong version of Dorimanx, download the correct version

How to flash it if the device doesn't boot even in recovery?
It'll boot into recovery, just hold and press power and vol down key and reboot.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I'll tell him to keep trying, maybe i'ts just a timing issue. Thanks.
So, the suggestion is... boot into recovery, then...? Wipe everything and restore the backup (if there's one)?
Well he can push the correct kernel via adb and flash it
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
He's not too used to this kinda things (me neither). How can this be done?
It's easy, well Google it, u will find videos explaining the same

there is a thread to make your phone "back to stock", then you will be fine.
Sent from my LG-D800 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Thanks everyone! He successfully entered into recovery (just wrong timing I guess) and flashed the right kernel (located on an usb pen drive attached with otg cable).
He thank you very much.

My phone has done the same thing an when I hit the buttons to go to recovery mode, recovery mode just flashes up an it goes back to the fastboot screen again
I was having the same issue... Until I noticed that it was the power cable that was messing with my attempts to enter recovery!
So here I leave my tip! Do the power button combination without any connection! :good:

is your problem solved yet?
I have just flashed the wrong kernel due to my carelessness and complacency and managed to fix this issue thanks to this thread!
Make sure no power cables are plugged in as it will interfere the process to boot into recovery mode.
Hold power button down until the phone is completely off, keep holding it there for another 10 seconds.
Hold volume down and power button together now until LG screen comes out. let go of power button only
If all goes well you should see TWRP recovery and thank TWRP team for their great work!
There's a Dorimanx app in the store so this doesn't happen.
flashed the right kernel (located on an usb pen drive attached with otg cable) sorry how to do it ? any link ? thanks

I know that you're saying it won't enter recovery mode, but are you sure you're doing it correctly? *Power off, wait a sec, press power until LG logo, let go and immediately after the LG logo, when it goes black, hold volume down and power*

after the LG logo, the "Team Bliss" logo appears immediately. even if i hold volume down + power, the phone will eventually reboot and get back to the LG logo
Try this - Hold power and volume up, as soon as LG logo appears, let go of them both, press and hold them both again. You will be in recovery. Then do the full format. Did you install the correct bootstack before flashing your blisspop ROM? That could be the issue.

How to Enter Recovery Mode on LG G2 (quick easy steps)
Press the Volume Down and the Power Button at the same time, about 2-3 seconds until the LG Logo shows.
When the LG Logo shows, release the buttons and then press and hold them again.
Keep pressing the buttons until the Recovery Mode Menu displays.

[Help] Device stuck on BL unlock warning.

Here's my problem: I unlocked my BL and flashed a custom recovery. I tried to flash a custom rom(wipe cache/dalvik and system before doing so), and it failed. I tried a few more times(failing every time then as well). But the last time I tried to flash and reboot the device, it would boot into the motorola bootloader warning screen and just hang there. I've tried flashing .15 and .10 in RSD Lite. I've also tried flashing stock via fastboot and that didn't work either. Is there anyway I can get past this screen and successfully flash a rom? I should add that I can't boot into anything but fastboot. So if recovery is required to flash the rom, that's not an option at the moment.

Sounds like a missing recovery... might need to reflash TWRP
Me too. Untethered Recovery. What can I do?
Sr for my English.
Boot into bootloader then scroll to recovery and press power button to select recovery.
Then u press and hold the power button and click volume down then it will open the recovery options.

That's not the problem, it stops morons from accessing it and messing with it then calming that it deleted all their stuff which it's their fault not anyone elses.
@scoot0073 said the exact steps.
Download the latest twrp from twrp.me to your computer. Once you have that boot your phone to the bootloader - power and volume down. After that simply plug in your phone, open a cmd/terminal in the folder where the twrp-xxx file is. then run this.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.2-1-angler.img
If that version doesn't work, try 3.0.2
That's my suggestion! Hope it works.
PS: The last time I was on Android N I had to decrypt. Not sure if that is still required.
When you see the Android lying on its back, you are in recovery mode. From there, your need to hold power and tap volume up. That will give you the different recovery menu options like install from adb, wipe, etc.

Just.. Press and hold the power button
Then.. double click the volume button..
