OP2 no system and no roms on the sd card(adb doesnt find device/fastboot does) - OnePlus 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
yesterday I accidentally wiped my phone and the rom's in it. So now I have to somehow get a rom on the sd card so I can flash it. Recovery works (twrp), fastboot mode works, however I can't use adb to push zips on to my sd card, I've tried on 3 different PC's 2xWindows and one mac
fastboot finds my device and adb doesn't. I've tried configuring the adb_usb.ini file with the Vendor ID of my device which I found, but adb still doesn't find it. My system is wiped so I don't have a system to go in and transfer files the normal way and my backups have been deleted so that isnt working either. I've also tried to return my phone to 100% stock with a tool I found on the OnePlus forums Thread from forum , however this didn't work fastboot crashes midway. My only option is to flash an .img file containing some system rom(which I didn't find) so I can then load files to my sd card or to get adb to work in some way so I can push the zips on to the sd card. If you can help in any way because I'm all out of ideas. It's been two hard days and this is the last thing I'm trying, otherwise I have to buy a new phone.

It's not soft bricked but I think the first method shown here could work:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/...ck-guide-for-a-hard-bricked-oneplus-2.347607/

Sounds like your trying to access your phone using ADB in fastboot, this will not work. For ADB recovery, you have to enter TWRP or CWM and choose ADB sideload mode to activate phone for receiving of ROM zip using adb sideload romfile.zip. Fastboot is like EFI or BIOS boot prompt on a PC, and ADB is like a variant of GRUB bootloader with support for PXE installing the phones OS by ways of adb sideload (as reference).

Fastboot> Recovery dosen't find *.img file on SD card

Hi Guys!
I am trying to root my nexus, unlocked it, installed the right usb drivers, I can see the phone and everything looks right.
Downloaded Superboot for ERE27 with himem enabled and ran this. no problem.
I put the img file on the SD card and when I boot the phone in Fastboot / Recovery it does not find and img files on the SD card.
I tried 2 different cards and also different img files.
When I do this I get first the message no images found than I see the droid with a triangle and a ! in it. - Have to pull the battery.
Ideas anyone?
Thanks
What are you trying to do?
1) you had to unlock the bootloader which enables you to install a new recovery image (which is needed to allow you to install new roms)
2) you had to apply the recovery image Amon RA via a command prompt and a batch file if you use Windows. The phone's USB connection needs to be in development mode and once the batch file executes and successfully finishes you need to reboot the phone.
3) you restart the phone into bootloader mode, use the volume rocker to select the recovery console. If you end up with an andriod and exclamation symbol the Amon RA recovery file was not installed.
4) the new recovery console allows you to clean the SD card. Install roms from the SD card and some other commands. The Roms for the Andriod are in ZIP format and do not need to be unziped. In other words all you need to copy to the SD card is the full ZIP file (approx 75MB) and install that directly from the recovery console.
If your android stays in the booting sequence which is shown as the X with flying little pixels, it's most likely because you did not wipe the device clean first. That item is in the recovery console as well.
Hope this helps. I am just as new to this as you are.
You didn't unzip them did you?
You're trying to root with superboot. Great, but the recovery is not capable of flashing .img files, only .zip updates and roms and such. .img files have to be flashed using fastboot, not recovery, and are flashed from the connected computer.
If you read the superboot instructions from wherever you got the file, you'll see that you have to put the .img in the same directory ON YOUR COMPUTER as fastboot, connect via USB, boot the phone into fastboot, then enter the appropriate command line on the computer to flash the file.
If you've done that, then you are officially DONE with the rooting process.
Also, make damn sure that the superboot version matches the software version on your phone. They're both ERE27, right?
I'm not sure what anosis's post is talking about, but that looks more like the process for installing a custom rom (ie cyanogenmod), than rooting.
To root your phone, you DO NOT need Amon-RA's recovery. You only need that if you want to install custom roms, etc. It wont hurt to have it, as it includes many more functions than the stock recovery, but just to root, you don't need it.
Summary:
If you flashed the superboot.img from your computer via fastboot, your phone is rooted. Done.
You don't need to do anything in the recovery at all for rooting. Only for installing update.zips and custom rom.zips.
Hey, So I have been scouring the forums trying to find some answers about this and you seem to be the closet to my situation. Here is what I did:
So I was running a CM9 Aplha, reverted back to stock 2.3.6 [1ada25375426.signed-soju-ota-189904.1ada2537]) so that I could then apply ICS update [VQ8PQk_V]) which I sucessfully did. This was about a month ago and it was all going well.
Then yesterday I wanted to upgrade to 4.0.4 [hR7QFEtn] so I did and superuser wasn't working properly but then I reinstalled it and got it to work. However I got to the point where everything was working fine EXCEPT for the Google Play store kept on force closing. I spent hours trying last night and could not find a solution.
I tried restoring the previous ICS update that I had and it worked, and then I tried updating again. Also side: My clockwork was on the fritz lately so I was using Zedowmaxs force into clockwork recovery image [fastboot boot recovery3101.img] to force it in sometimes.
Anyway bottom line here is where my REAL ISSUE begins. I decided just to wipe everything and start anew. I factory reset/ wiped properly [cache partition and davliche cache] and then locked my bootloader again. Then tried rebooting. Got stuck on Google screen. Then I unlocked my bootloader again. Tried again, same issue.
So, here is where I am at. Cannot get into recovery from fastboot, takes me back to fastboot. AND, everything is wiped because I locked/unlocked my bootloader. All I can do is adb commands.
I don't know what to do from here and there is a lot of things going on. If you could help that would be great!? What I am going to try next is to flash some recovery on, but I don't know which one/ try to mount a file to my sd card from adb commands.

It looks like the time when you were locking-unlocking the bootloader, you messed up the recovery. Since your phone can get into bootloader menu, I think you can get out of this issue.
Here is what I would do.
1. Unlock the bootloader.
2. flash clockworkmod recovery using fastboot USB.
3. Download recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img, put it in C:\fastboot\
4. Shut down your phone. Then start your Nexus One in Fastboot mode by holding down the Trackball and press the Power button.
5. Connect your phone to your computer. Open a Command Prompt (Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Command Prompt), and run the following commands:
cd C:\fastboot
fastboot devices
fastboot flash recovery recovery-RA-passion-v2.2.1.img
now see if you can get into recovery. If you can, just flash a custom rom using install zip from sd card option in the recovery
I didn't read all the replies but fastboot reads from your PC's disk not the sdcard, unless you are running it through shell or something?

Oneplus One with fastboot and TWRP functioning, but can't get a ROM working

I really need help, I have tried the following, having TWRP V2.8.5.1 functioning and Fastboot also.
- Through TWRP, tried connecting the PC so I can Flash a ROM from there, but I can't seem to be able to connect the One to my PC so it will let me transfer files through cmd with adb push. My computer is a windows 10 OS with Samsung drivers and Android SDK full installed, still can't get it to work.
- Through Fastboot tried flashing cm-11-20141008-SNAPSHOT-M11-bacon.zip downloaded from Cyanogenmod page and using Oneplus One Toolkit 2.0, even though the Toolkit says the files are there, still phone continues to show 1+ logo and then rebooting.
Please I need some help.
Cheers. and thank you.
Why adb push when you can just copy the file over using a file manager (or a command prompt if you insist) and then flash from the internal storage?
I'm having the same issue but in my case I can boot into recovery or other stuff IF I HAVE THE USB PLUGGED IN
Maybe you can check and and let me know, if I found a solution I'll tell you, hoping the same from you please.

Cannot adb sideload from the stock recovery

Hello, i'm trying to adb sideload the full rom to return to stock on my oneplus 5 and lock the bootloader again.
Only when i try to adb sideload from the stock recovery, phone is not recognized. On the device manager i got the error you can see in pic i've uploaded.
Adb sideload correctly works in TWRP. What can be the problem (and solution?).
Thanks.
Same problem here.
So... I think It's a recovery bug I guess....
Same issue, Windows 10 PC.
I put the OTA zip files I was trying to adb sideload on internal storage, and booted to recovery from there and installed them one by one that way.
Or transfer the whole image zip to the root folder and flash it in the install from storage folder in recovery.
there are windows usb drivers for the op5 issued by oneplus. i suggest you find those, install them, and see if they help.

Can't copy files to /sdcard/

Hello everyone,
I recently decided too install the LineageOS.
Everything went fine, but I forgot Gapps and didnt want too use my phone without them so I decided too install the ROM again but this time with the apps.
I followed the linageos guide but accidently wiped everything before I could
Code:
adb push filename.zip /sdcard/
(dunno if thats the problem)
Im using TWRP 3.1.1-1. I can get into Recovery Mode. While in fastboot modus my pc detects my phone as an OnePlus, in Recovery modus its just android.
Code:
fastboot devices
shows my serial number. OEM is unlocked.
while in recovery mode
Code:
adb push filename.zip /sdcard/
gets me
Code:
No such file or directory
Code:
adb push C:\User\...filename.zip /sdcard/
gets me
Code:
failed to copy.. remote couldnt create file
while in fastboot mode I get
Code:
no devices/emulator found
Copying by dragging the file into internal storage doesnt work neighter.
I dont know what I did different besides the wipe before the copying. Maybe the wipe deactivates USB Debugging?
Maybe someone sees where my problem is.
Thanks

I guess you don't have an OTG Drive.
you could always go 100% stock again and then flash LineageOS
http://downloads.oneplus.net/oneplus-5/oneplus_5_oxygenos_4.5.13/
well first thanks for your reply. I flashed the original recovery and tried 2 sideload now. Seems to be driver problems. So I have to try every solution with Win10 and OP5 drivers I guess?
Make sure the Android drivers on your computer are up to date and also that you don't have any old drivers from a previous phone. I accidentally wiped everything on my OP5 once but when I connected it to my Windows 10 computer the OP5 was still recognized as a storage device--but I used TWRP not the stock recovery and also used the file explorer in TWRP. With the stock recovery you should still be able to side load flash the stock ROM from your computer. If you can't it's likely a driver issue.
I had once a similar issue, although not exactly this, just something with drivers.
A long process to fix was to install Linux as a virtual machine in Windows and that worked well. I could do all I needed, the phone was quickly recognized.
Virtualbox or VMware both are free/have a free version and I used Ubuntu.
Give it a try if all else fails.

UPDATED SU STUCK IN SOFT BRICK: TP260 AKA LGK20PLUS(have acces toTwr Recovery/SDstill

Okay I have a few problems going... here is what I have and have tried and the issues I have been having... I have log files and such saved too should you need those.
Synthoms: LGK20 PLUS aka TP260
- I needed a Binary update for SU... (never did get that to work) Somehow afterwards my phone would only reboot into Twrp Recovery on boot loop.
-I installed an Update SU file ( also didn't work) then the phone started booting into only fastboot.... ( I had a brief issue of it not connecting on ADB but I hade to just end task adb in the task menu (Crtl Alt Del in case somebody has same problem) Afterwards connected no problem.
-I have wiped datas and cache and all sorts of instuctions to no avail.. lol
_phone now boot immediately to fastboot but I am able to get to twrp recovery just fine
Whats Weird:
-I can see the device on the computer get onto the sd card add files and zip files and the computer recognizes it n o problem at all... but LG MOBILE SUPPORT LGUP LG Bridge and LG Flash Tool.... all do not recognize my phone.
-But no matter where I partition anything and no matter what recovery img or zip file I install... it just only wants to open into fastboot.... I'm sure it is a very simple operation to fix... maybe one of you have a restore file can put on the SD with mine that have done me no good? Any help would be appreciated hardcore lol and I appreciate the learning experience a per i have learned a lot..
Heres what I have collected in my attempts
A: I have a Twrp.img and Recovery.img (not sure if they are a recovery or boot partition)
B: I have ADB it connects to my device fine and I can even flash onto the phone but seems to not be helping lol
C: : LG Bridge and LG UP do not see that my phone is connected (all my drivers are updated)
D: I have a stock KTZ file for my phone but I have no programs to flash it except adb (the others will not recognize my phone except ADB
E: I am very sure Xposed may have something to do with this... I downloaded an uninstaller and the zip file will not flash error 555 or something like that.
F: I'm very sure I need a Boot.img?? this I know little about but I have a program to build one if I can figure out how lol.
G: My recoveries did not work :0(
H: None of my SU zips seem to be working (is why I believe Xposed is behind it lol.
I: There are commands you can put into the terminal in TWRP recovery ( I can get there will explain further later) to disable Xposed but they say to create a folder name \data\data\....ect ect... There is no way that the TWRP recovery will let me create folders so I'm at a loss there.....

Can't help, but don't use SuperSU for Xposed.
Magisk has a module for Xposed that'll save you lots of pain
