How to check if LTE Carrier Aggregation is enabled or not on Moto G4 Plus. Is there a option to enable the same

If you are rooted, you could use Cellmapper app to verify - it has an option to read directly the frequency of the qualcomm modem.
The CPU specs sheet for qualcomm Snapdragon 617 says that supports 2x20 MHz carrier aggregation DL and UL for 300/100Mbps speeds (LTE Cat 7).
But, first of all, your carrier needs to have CA enabled.
If not rooted - your speedtests results are over 100Mbps (DL), that can happen only with CA.

M9+ support for 4G+ (LTE Advanced)

Hello,
do you have some verified information about 4G+ support for this phone? Apparently some specs say that it should support cat. 6 connections (150+150 Mbps) but I can't find confirmations.
In my case, I'm in Italy, I bought a chinese m9pw and I already managed to convert it to an "official" WWE phone (unlocked, S-OFF and RUU) and currently the baseband is 1.1506V24P14.1605.0421_HTW. On the box there is a "100 - 150 Mbps" label with no mention to 4G+.
Here the LTE Advanced is achieved by aggregating two of 800, 1800 e 2600 bands, and the M9+ supports the 1800 (band 3) and 2600 (band 7) so in theory it should work. Anyway, from a few tests I made I get only 4G symbol with no difference between 4G/4G+
Any suggestions?

As per official specs of MediaTek "Helio X10" MT6795 which is the M9+ CPU:
"Support for Rel. 9, Category 4 FDD and TDD LTE (150Mbps/50Mbps), as well as modems for 2G/3G networks"
The Cat. 4 (release 9) is the last implementation of "simple" LTE (single carrier), the first release of 4G+ is the n. 10 (cat. 6), so according to this:
HTC M9+ DOES NOT support 4G+ (LTE Advanced).
If you have different info please post it here. Otherwise, don't trust other sites telling that this technology is supported by M9+.

Samsung Note 4 (4G+) VS HTC M9+ (4G) speed test
Center of Milan, same provider (TIM)
Note 4 (4G+): 102,5 Mbps (download) - 20,59 (upload)
M9+ (4G): 58,82 Mbps (download) - 10,24 (upload)
The Note 4 catches on double carrier LTE Cat. 6 and literally doubles M9+ speed!

There are limitations because of the hardware bits (RF amps) that are missing. For example if the radio works on LTE band 17 (DL 740Mhz, UL 710MHz), then it might be tricked to work in LTE band 12 (DL 737.5MHz, UL 707.5MHz), they are "close enough" to work.
Also I had a Alcatel phone that was sold by T-Mobile with one of the existing bands (LTE 5) de-activated because it was not used by T-Mobile. After unlocking the phone (legally) it would still work poorly on AT&T network - and then I was able to activate that band by using the above software - because the needed RF amps where already present inside.
LTE band 4 AWS is a special animal, the DL and UL frequencies are VERY far apart. Not matching anything else, so even if we can program the radio to work in those bands, the output RF amps will just not be able to perform.

I'd love to say that I understood you but I'm very ignorant about bands and frequencies.
I read that the QC SnapDragon 617 has a X8 LTE Modem (can't link because I'm new, but it's on the QC webpage) which has the Snapdragon Global All Mode, and it's supposed to support band 4 AWS. I don't know if that helps with the output RF amps, or I'm totally doomed.
Yes the X8 Modem supports the bands. But it needs something else to work. Those bits are soldered on the US version and not on the EU one. Similar, on the EU one there is band 20 that is not present on the US hardware.

USA: xt1644 on AT&T network.

Here's a simple question that gets shockingly complicated.
I have a xt1644 on AT&T, and have my previous phone (zenfone 2) on T-Mobile.
When I used the zenfone 2 on AT&T I could never get an LTE signal, but when using the zenfone on Tmobile i get LTE all the time.
On AT&T, my zenfone said it was in HSPA mode. Now my MG4+ also shows in HSPA.
Interesting sidenote. I travel across the country, and it doesn't matter what market I am in, same results across carriers (no lte on AT&T, but get it on Tmobile.)
Is there any way to figure out what bands which carriers are using, and perhaps add the LTE band for AT&T to my XT1644 radios???

I am using the Cellmapper app. If you are rooted, it can read the LTE band frequency directly from the Qualcomm radio.
I have used the XT1644 with both metroPCS (T-Mobile) and now Cricket wireless (AT&T) and the latest has more consistent LTE connection.

Differences between A320F/DS, A320F, A320FL and Usability in the United States?

So, I'm interested in getting a cheap 4.7" Android phone to use in the United States and sometimes in Canada. I zeroed in on the Galaxy A3 2017. The model that works best in North America is the A320Y, but so far I've only been able to find it online at some store in New Zealand. Since finding the answer to the question, Will shipping the device from NZ to the United States cost customs fees (and if so, how much)? is a question harder to answer than the question, Where is Jimmy Hoffa?, I've begun considering getting one of the models listed in the title of this thread.
But there's a problem. Those models in the title don't work on US LTE. Actually, according to frequencycheck.com, the A320FL has one LTE band (Cricket/AT&T) and the other models have none of the LTE frequency bands. I wonder if frequencycheck.com is accurate. I'm also wondering if there are other differences between those models. I'm also wondering what happens if I put a Cricket SIM inside these phones. Even though frequencycheck.com says I will get no LTE bands, will putting a Cricket SIM inside suddenly activate an LTE band?
The other question I was wondering: Do I even need LTE if I don't care much about download speed? Maybe HSPA+ or whatever it is will be good enough? If I don't have LTE, will I get less reception indoors or outdoors, or will I get the same exact reception/coverage but just be relegated to 3G/4G/HSPA+ service? What is the benefit of LTE besides data speed?
Finally, which one of these models has the most ROM support? Can they all be bootloader unlocked?
I know I'm asking a whole bunch of questions at the same time. Sorry. I appreciate any help I can get with this!
To answer some:
That website appears to be accurate. Doesn't only list AT&T for a320fl once expanded.
As for SIMs activating bands, I haven't seen it on Samsung, only RRC Release, VoLTE, LTE CAT, maybe individual CA combos. The disabled bands are shown as CAL_DEFAULT vs CAL_PASS. Guess it's like Snapdragon.
HSPA+ vs LTE
The range of 3G/4G is close with the same frequency, but 4G performs better at cell edge (low signal).
Speed (anyway)
Well, 3G is usually given its own spectrum at first, then the 2G is refarmed into 3G. Today, 3G gets refarmed to 4G. This leaves 3G with a small amount of spectrum, it becomes prone to interference. It's bit like multiple tv/fm stations on the same channel number. Other 'tv/fm stations' have to be filtered out by the phone, this lowers the speed. 4G gets some too, along with echoed complex signals, but it gets less.
3G supports up to 5MHz per carrier, 4G up to 20MHz. 3G can have carrier aggregation, so 5+5+maybe 5. Expect up to 2 carriers (not every combo) on 4G, unless a specific SIM is detected in specific phone models. Along with that, 4G can have better spectral efficiency.
If you are going with 3G(HSPA, sometimes called '4G') anyway, you should know that there are these states (usually called fast dormancy) to save power.
DCH = Full speed.
FACH = Up to 32kbps. 4kB/s. Maybe RRC Release downgrade is visible (H+ to H).
PCH = No data.
Anything below is further away from data.
For high performance, keep the speed above 4kB/s, at the cost of battery. LTE has a faster start.
Sometimes, the speed is simply constrained by backhaul, the internet access that goes to the tower.

According to every other (not alternating) source the LTE band 2 and band 5 is supported in the US (and the entire spectrum of these bands). So, it supports some bands. Check if the signal of those bands (for your mobile network operator) are available in your location. Ask again, specifically for band 2 LTE(4G).

Looking for a smart watch that will run Android and be on the 1700/2100 Frequency

Currently I am on Freedom mobile in Canada. I am looking for a standalone smart watch that has the sim capability to run 3g, 4g, lte, whatever I can get basically. I currently have a DM98 and its a really cool smart watch, but the sim will not work in it as its the incorrect frequency. I would for sure need AWS 1700 band to allow 3g and lte on older devices I assume. Only ones I have found are possibly an intex which is small and dated and an LG Sports Watch 2 it looks like. If anyone has any options it would be great. Was hoping for some of the new ones like huawei smartwatch 2 but they are not compatible either. Real bummer.
