A510FD Dual SIM Mode Dual 4G/LTE? - Galaxy A3, A5, A7, A8, A9 Q&A, Help & Troubleshoot

I'm thinking of getting this phone because of the dedicated SD card slot (most dual SIMs share the second SIM which is no good to me). (I currently have the Sony Z5 E6833 which I hate!) Anyway, I'm on Three UK. The problem with three is that they don't run GSM. What that means is that I need both SIMs to operate at 3G+ at the same time. Does anyone know if this phone does that? I ask because my Z5 puts the passive SIM into GSM mode which instantly disconnects it from the network (Three UK) making the dual SIM pointless. I won't be making that mistake again!
TIA
m

You can only select 1 sim card at a time to be in LTE/3G mode the other one will automatically go to 2G.
I tried it on Galaxy A5 2016 A510FD

ZUK Dual Sim 4G working..?

Hi anybody confirms that, ZUK dual sim working with Dual 4G Sim, today I have tried I can able to set up only one sim as 4G, another one is automatically switched to 2g from 4g..
Same here, i was in india for 2 weeks and tried to use an airtel card + my german sim card both on 4g, but i could select only one for 3g/4g then the other one went into 2g mode automatically.
You can not use 3/4G on both sims simultaneously.
not only this phone, but no such phones exists up to now. (except one.)
Please confirm if only sim1 support 4g? Is it possible switch 4g on sim2 and sim1 as 2g?

Hi Kausik,
Even i was facing the same problem with Airtel. Please put the sim card in slot 2 (when phone is On), restart phone and stay in coverage area for some time. It should detect the network.
One you get the netwrok, simply remove sim card from slot 2 and put in slot 1 (when phone is on). Hope this helps !
When I was using COS 12.1 I had the same problem: only one sim at a time can have 4G functionalities.
With ResurrectionRemix I can set both on 4G, so I just need a single step to switch data from SIM1 to SIM2.
nothing helps.
I did take sim out when its on and put it in another slot and did restart.. Nothing helps ...can anyone help me with. This plz..

Xperia Z5 Dual Sim Card - doesn't support 2 sim cards of the same network

HI EVERYONE,
Hope you can help me or give an advice...
I got Xperia Z5 Dual Sim Card phone. I'm on UK network. If I use both sim slots with the same provider, one of the slots stops working immediately. Shows no signal bars whatsoever. As soon as I use two different sim cards from different providers, both work fine. I called my network provider, but they state it's a phones fault.
Has anyone experienced anything like that?
Can you buy new sim card? And try with the new one

Could it be your carrier doesn't have GSM coverage in your area?
I think 3 in the UK does not have GSM. When you are in 'dual standby' mode one of the SIM cards MUST be on GSM only mode, therefore if your carrier doesn't have GSM it will never connect. This is a funny limitation, but it's what allows for dual standby phones to be made relatively simple without having to have two radios for two carriers, which would make the phone a lot bigger and complicated.
I went to the actual store and swapped the sim cards, but nothing helped

I never thought of that... It's strange as I went to Vodafone store and they said they don't support dual sim card phones at all.
I am actually with network 3, so thought there shouldn't be issues like this. Another funny thing is, that if I swap the slots with the same network 3 sim cards, sometimes slot No1 and sometimes slot No2 isn't working. As soon as I put one Vodafone and the other network 3 sim cards, both slots work just fine

I used my Z5 Dual when I was in the UK and was having real problems getting the EE sim card to work on the data side, it seems that when I put in the EE card my phone restarts (annoying but standard) and it resets the data preference to 3G which meant that I had no coverage. As soon as I switched the data preference to LTE it was up and running full guns again.

Thanks for you answer. Seems that it's more to do with the provider then the actual phone.
Sad that phone like this couldn't be used to it's full potential

Dual sim option

I wanted to find out following;
Is every S7 Edge Hardware capable of using dual SIM? I was wondering if I buy dual SIM tray for S7 Edge should I just be able to put into SIM cards provided the phone is unlocked and get service on both cards. I know it sounds too far-fetched but I was wondering did they really make separate motherboard for single Sim and dual SIM. I currently have AT&T S7 Edge with g935 U software on it. If something like that is possible I assume there would be some sort of software limitation or something needs to be enabled in the rom itself to make both SIM cards being recognizable , provided of course that phone has connections for two Sims.
I would seriously appreciate any input on this

no, not every model is dual sim capable. ON FD model. Part of the issue is that the phone must have two imeis for both sims to work together. most phones only have a single imei.

Problem with a cut down standard sim card

Hello,
I bought X Compact (F5321), I inserted a nano sim card (let's call it "A") and it was working fine
So then I tried to insert a (cut down to nano) standard sim (let's call it "B") and it cannot register to the network (though it's being recognized).
This same sim card (B) is working perfectly on a lumia, an iphone 4s and a couple of other smartphones (wiko sunny, and energy lite).
The contract of A and B is both on bmobile Japan, but B is on a voice-only contract (no internet option).
I installed a custom rom and rooted the phone following this guide:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp...oot-automatic-repack-stock-kernel-dm-t3301605
I then added some other bands working for Japan (all the bands correctly showing in the "Configuration" screen) and I was able to select [JAPAN BAND] without any error whatsoever, and still no signal at all..
Any idea why card B isn't working?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestion
