I've been able to use it on my T-Mobile V20. There is an inactivity setting that was causing the WiFi tethering to cut off after 5 minutes. I changed that in the settings, which fixed the issue.

Oh, your using the native app. I was referring to an app named Wifi Tether Router so I could tether with my LTE and not be throttled to 3g.

You have to be rooted, right?

My tests was made on Windows Seven
I wonder why I get charged then for airtime with this method, as if I am using my phone as a dial-up modem...I am on Telus, with a prepaid data plan, which allows for tethering as well on an iPhone or Nexus One...for free...
Microsoft really needs to add proper tethering as soon as possible...
yeah, it works =)
yes, but, what about hidden networks? Did you find how we can enable that function?

Need some quick help please

I Was Messing With Stuff and now lte isn't working correctly... can someone download this app and tell me what the default preferred network type is under testing>device info. Also what is the default setting for network type under mobile networks? TIA ALL!

LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)
Okay it may not be the service mode. I'm seeing that km connected to lte:14 but my speeds are a out 2mb/s does anyone have any ideas?
Bump. Anyone have an idea of what cloud have slowed my lte so much? Thanks in advance
Alright I think I figured this out and wanted to share in case anyone needs it. I guess something got screwy when I was messing with stuff but I just had to reset the modemml. To do so go to service mode then UE Setting>setting> system> stimulation> MODEM ASSERT (RESET) and that's all I needed to do. Hope this helps someone with very slow lte!

[Q] Free Wifi hotspot app?

I have a Sprint Samsung S5 that will soon be rooted, but I'm holding out until a free WiFi hotspot app shows up. I've searched for it here without any luck. Could someone please point me in the right direction?

Thank you!
or this https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.core.technology.wifi.hotspot&feature=apps_topselling_free (can't see youtube vids).
but it should be a basis functionnality of the S5 (and thus from S2). I got it :
parameters > wifi access point and modem (in network connexion menu) [maybe under another name, as I'm translating from french] > enable "mobile access point".
To quickly enable this you can use the icon in the status bar and choose "wifi hotspot" :

Hi. I am yes using as s8 port. Have always been rooted and never had this symbol. Can I remove it!?
I had that symbol on a custom ROM. It disappeared after a day, no idea what it was though, sorry!
Ok thanks. Hopefully it'll go then!!
That icon is lte connection its your mobile data at a much faster pace then 4g
Ok. If i turn off wifi the ymbol disappears but I have no data. So I have a problem with this rom maybe as only wifi works it would seem.
Ignore that last post. So this symbol is here whether I'm on wifi or 4g. It's huge. Don't like it! It's on as well as saying 4g.
Its the IMS logo. You can delete anything relating to IMS using titanium or any other program to remove it.
IMS?
Its more like your connected to a much higher quality reception
https://forum.xda-developers.com/tm...ps/mod-remove-rcs-service-volte-icon-t3362336 this link will allow you to get rid of it
For VOLTE connectivity.

It's actually 5.0.7
Because the same security patch and Type C Bullet support implanted on 5.0.7
or to Germany
So why again, changelog mistake from OP?
I got the notification also, but same changelog
Cheers
Tom

Use some app from the playstore, I used "FREE VPN - Unlimited Free Fast VPN for Android".
Or just get it from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3t/how-to/official-oxygenos-5-0-1-android-8-0-t3728119
