My mic doesn't work with Google Duo - Samsung Galaxy Express GT-I8730 Questions & Answer

I am using CM14.1 Samsung GT-I8730 and the mic of my phone is not working with Google Duo app. The mic works well with other apps. If I use Bluetooth HF or Headphones with mic then others can hear my voice. It didn't work with CM14 either. It worked one version of CM13. Don't remember which version. Any help?

mic and earpiece not working

Hi
I have a problem with my N4
recently my mic and earpiece are not working anymore with regular calls - even if I plug a headset mic no sound and the other person cant hear me.
But skype and hangout works fine earpiece mic or mic headset.
what I tried
unlocked bootloader
install lastest cyanogen did not work
tried all stable cyanogen did not work
I also tried different radio did not work
and I just flash stock 4.2.1 did not work also.
Also tried the app Soundabout to unckeck wired headset to force earpice and mic and didnt work also
Im sure its not hardware since I can hear and mic works on hangout or skype.
I've seen this before on iphones on them it's a hardware fault with a chip that only effects sound during calls. Sounds similar to your problem. First flash a full factory image, (use the flash-all.bat) then if the problem persists it's hardware.

i have the same problem.
try to use SoundAbout,
turn off the wired headset mic (in wired headset behaviour) - the mice should be working now,and in phone call audio - use earpeace
the reason for this problem seems to be that the phone thinks a headset with mic connected.
is music plays normally through the speaker?

microphone issue

The microphone only works with phone calls. WhatsApp voice messages, Google commands, any other app does not work. A complete reset didn't help either. Looks like a software bug. Otherwise, the microphone would not work on phone calls.
Newest Android version with latest November patch.
Any ideas?
I have the same mic problem.
Did you open a support case?
I was able to recreate the error using a recorder app. Whenever the microphone is set to mono, recording is no longer possible. Once the recording is set to stereo, the microphone will work fine. WhatsApp, Google commands seem to use the mono setting and do not work. Is there a setting that can permanently set the microphone to stereo?
I talked to support today. The problem is the last update. After that, all apps except the phone app use the rear microphone. I asked for a fix and waiting for an answer.

How do I use the headphones microphone? Help

Hi. I realize that my Redmi Note 7 always use the phone microphone. When I connect my headphones, the sound plays in my headphones, but if I record a Whatsapp audio it uses the phone microphone instead of headphones microphone. And I also tried with a friend's Redmi Airdots S and same thing, earbuds works but can't use the mic for record wpp audio, it always use the build-in mic.
It's annoying, cause now I'm using a true wireless earbuds and I can't record a whatsapp audio without the phone in my hands... Kinda the whole point of a wireless earbuds.
Already:
- Re-pair
- Reboot after pair
- Clean all devices from bt list.

Probably. Anyway, did you try recording your voice in a different app? If the other app works that'd mean this is WA bug or may be just not compatible with WA.
Try few things-
1. record voice in WA and a different app with earbud.
Check the results. If earbud works in diff app, than blame WA.
2. record voice in WA and a different app with an wired headset.
Check the results. If wired headeet works in both apps, blame earbud.

1. Same results. I tried to record a sound with Audio Recorder and used the buil-in mic too.
2. It actually worked. Using wired headset, it uses the headset mic. But I can't blame the earbud, it's brand new, and I tried with Airdots S too and neither worked. I mean, the wireless headsets have a mic cause it can be used, but my phone thinks it can't.
Great Tip.
Thanks for sharing this tip. This was so simple, yet i didn't thought of it
I am facing the same problem with my Redmi Earbuds. I hope this tip helps me to identify where the fault lies.
