It's not mallware it has something to do with KNOX i had this on many phones in the past that where on android kitkat or lower.
Just go to the SuperSU app and check the "Trust system user" checkbox and it will stop giving you these dialogs.

I just got this today on my note pro 12.2 5.0.2 which is supposed to have Knox completely removed
I don't think I'll be checking that box til this thing is sorted out lol it's staying denied for now.

i have the same problem with this System_Server (1000)

Same problem, same phone. Now I realy think that is a part of Samsung stock rom.

sm-t237p running stock rooted 5.1.1
just had this strange request myself ..... Feb 12th 2017 @ 6:45am PST... idgaf if its a legit app or not, im not granting full on access to ANYTHING like that, not by choice anyhow....

Just had this happen, but on my HTC One m7vzw 4.4, rooted, so I don't think this is a Samsung specific issue. I'll update more when I dig up some info.

Is there a solution to this that I'm not seeing?

I don't think it's a virus, in fact I'm having problems allowing it access. It is the only app that I can't click on anything on the screen when it pops up. I have a samsung galaxy s5, with xposed mod and wanam xposed mod. I clicked the system mod for holding back button to kill current app. When I try to kill app it asks for "system_server" but I'm unable to accept it for some reason. I'm not afraid of it being a virus, but I'd like to know how I could add to the super SU if I can't click allow and it's not on the programs list I can give access to. I see it in the log it said I needed pro version but that was a lie, because it still won't work. Any one have better luck with this problem? I'm running a bare bones minimal rom that I added back some samsung things to.

S4 no icmp ping

Hello,
i had no problem with s2 and s3 but with s4 i have this problem.
Any ping app say:
ping: icmp open socket: Operation not permitted

I must mention that i had rooted the device (i thought this was the problem but no).
Do you have any ideea how to fix this ?
What firmware are you using? ping works fine in on my S4 running I9505XXUBMGA stock firmware.
Hi folks,
Did you ever solve this? I'm experiencing the same issue after last OTA update. After rooting the problem remains.
Im'm running 4.2.2 stock MH8.
Can anyone shad a light over this? I've been searching everywhere and found nothing solid.
thanks
could this by any chance have something to do with this Knox thing?
I also have this problem now, but I'm sure I did NOT have it about month ago.
To be more precise, ping apps on S4 (that I tried) are not returning verbose errors, but they all result in ping timeouts if I ping from S4 to anything, including S4 local IP address.
On the other hand, I can ping from PCs in local network to phone, I can access internet from phone, I can access local LAN services (SMB sharing, video streams, RDP...) from phone. Only thing I can NOT do is use any app on phone to ping from phone to anything. It is not like S4 is blocking ICMP (since ping from PC to S4 works), it is more like S4 is preventing ping API to work correctly.
While my phone is not rooted, it was not rooted month ago, and back then it was able to ping. Maybe it is some of recent Samsung patches received OTA?
I'm on I9505XXUDMH6 currently (3.4.0-1220396), international S4 with Snapdragon 600.
hi gemnenad, that's odd not returning any open socket error. I rooted my s4 convinced that it would overcome the problem by changing those command permissions but nothing did it. only if I open su on terminal i'm able to ping, tracert, etc.
Every other app that was fine stopped working after last update.
I've not decided what to do next. Maybe unroot and wait for 4.3 hoping this will be solved or flash a custom rom.

Busybox not installed/busted ? If it's already installed, try updating or uninstall/reboot/reinstall/reboot. If it's not installed, install it from GP (plenty of options free/paid to choose from)

Thank you very much MistahBungle, using Busy Box and opening terminal, ping works fine.
So I think problem with ICMP from normal apps is related to SU permission. Developers of network tool will need to modify their Apps to enable SU request!
Did you confirm that?
Thank you again.
Regards
Alessandro
Alessandro,
Don't know if there is/isn't an issue with those apps, as I don't use them & I'm someone who uses terminal for these things (having used Linux for a long time). You might be onto something though when you say the issues are probably caused by the apps not calling root properly.
You're welcome, happy to help
I'm having same issue.
Could it be Samsung bug?
Regards
Have you done the Busybox thing on the previous page I suggested which fixed Alessandro's problem (at least from a terminal window) ? I don't think there is a fix for those dedicated apps which have ping as one of their features short of having the devs of those apps have a look at the problem as that poster suggested.
Same issue here using 4.3.
Could this be a Samsung bug?

It works from Busybox (Busybox ping <IP>) but will not work from any application I use.
Wierd.
Yeah it is, and I think Alessandro was on to something. Contact the developer of the app in question.

I have the same problem with Android 4.3 in my S3
Same issue on my Note2 N7100 running stock Android 4.3.
I think this is something Samsung is purposely blocking. If you su it works right.
This is also not how a stock Android rom behaves, so Samsung changed this on purpose. I ran I to it tonight on my Note 10.1 2014.
The only work around I know of is to manually type out a ping command after su'ing. No apps seem to work.

[Q] I can't install apps outside of the Play Store

Hello everyone,
I finally rooted my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 and I'm really enjoying the benefits of a rooted phone.
So far so good. I have just one Problem: I seem to not be able to install .apk files I downloaded from the internet even tough I allowed the installation of apps from sources other than the Play Store in the settings menu. You can see it here.
I didn't change a thing after rooting and I had no problems before the root. I also rebooted a couple of times already.
To root my Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 I used the Auto-Root method from Chainfire (awesome guy! :good: ) that can be found here. My Adroid version ist 4.4.2.
I am really thankful for all your help. I appreciate it!
Sincerely Nero
Didn't do anything but it seems to be working again.

[Q] SM-T530NU not full root help

It's the 10.1 inch
I just rooted my tablet today and gained su.
I can give apps su. I get the give su prompt box.
I used the Odin method from this site by chainfire.
Now I managed to kill knox. I closed and un-installed all 6 knox stuff with titanium backup. I did create a back up file for all of them but I don't think you can restore them.
I need busy box for some of my root apps to function because I need the killall.
For some reason busy box gets error message saying there might be a problem with my root.
Anyone have any suggestions?

I had the same issue on the SM-T530NU rooted using the Odin/chainfire method (I assume you're referring to the Play Store busybox app). The problem went away for me when I installed and ran Root Browser, which installs components of busybox on its own. After installing and running root browser once (follow the setup prompts), and then rebooting the tablet, I was able to run the original busybox installer app with no issues. No idea if this'll work for you but since it was the exact same set of circumstances, hopefully it will.
With custom recoveries available, cf autorooot isn't really needed.
At some point you are going to trip knox. But if you have successfully disabled knox, go ahead and flash
a custom recovery. Then flash chainfire's latest supersu update zip. Then find your busybkox install via market
or a custom binary.
If custom binary, push it to /system/xbin, then open terminal and su, then
mount -o remount,rw /system
chmod 755 /system/xbin/busybox
busybox --install -s /system/xbin
reboot

SM-T530NU is mine. That's what you needed right?
Now will I be able to unroot my device to play a game that won't run if I'm rooted?
Or is there a way I can run it and still keep my root?
I used the chainfires way of rooting and I just did the superuser unroot.
I went to the Samsung website and got the stock file for my device which is like 1.2 or so gb.
Can I put that back on my device and then wouldn't I be completely unrooted?
Also I used titanium backup to remove all the knox files while I had root.
Will this be a problem when I flash over my Samsung file I downloaded from the Samsung site?
I want to have full root but still be able to play this game ragnarok. Can it be done? Oh and using that lame hide my root from the Google play store didn't work. I hide the su binary and removed the suapp and it didn't work.

What about if I want to unroot it? Will it be fully unrooted? How?
What if after I root it and then unroot it, can I root it another time? How and will it cause problems?
Is there a program like macro touch that I can use without root?
I feel that my questions are very simple and straightforward could someone answer them?

Jesus Christ dude are you illiterate I was providing a link to the other guy to root his tablet. But yes please, get me banned. Sic the internet police on me for all I care. You want your answers questioned? There are two invaluable tools just waiting to help you find your answers. They're called the xda search button, and google. You're a human being living in an age where we have the most immediate access to just about any information imaginable. I have around a dozen devices all rooted using a variety of methods and I am able to install and run any program on any one that I darn well please. If you're really going to tool around and hem and haw about a bunch of apps I don't know that I can help you.
You have the SM-T530NU? Fine, this is a surefire way to root your tablet. HOWEVER, in doing so you will trip knox, thereby voiding your warranty. If you don't understand that sentence, I revisit my earlier point of READ. Learn on your own, that's what I've done. But stop coming at me with your confrontational language, especially coming from a position of such a persistent insufficiency in knowledge and a lack of the motivation to rectify that shortcoming on your own.

You can unroot in SuperSU. It's an option called "unroot"
Yes it will be unrooted. Or you can just reflash system firmware.
I don't foresee any problems with rooting, unrooting, and then even re-rooting your tablet but even so if problems arose (which they probably wouldn't) there are ways to wipe/reset the tablet.
I don't know what macro touch is. Use google, the play store, xda, etc. to search for apps.
Yes maybe he shouldn't've asked his question here. Don't jump down my throat for answering it. I can read perfectly fine, I do it more than most and have been blessed with 20-15 vision.

Hi guys.
I rooted my S6 edge with pingpong root successfully!! Checked it with root check and its perfect!! Root was working good with lucky patcher but there was a little problem with busybox which i resolved it simply by installing busybox app!! Now the real problem is about modifying apps like"GameHacker and GameKiller" after installing those apps and open them i get a SuperSU popup to grant or deny root!! when i grant it it says"root privileges needed" Even though I'm rooted!!
I really don't know what to do guys I really want a solution for this stupid problem!!
Also when i check for updates it says that my device been modded or somehow use Smart Switch on computer...bla bla bla
How can I update my device???

Galaxy S5 NEO SM-G903F user thread.

Hi All!
I didn't see any thread yet for this phone, the Samsung Galaxy s5 NEO (SM-G903F).
Here you can share your experience and tips and tricks.
Unfortunately I didn't see any root for this phone, as well the custom roms aren't there.
So if you have a trick to root it, let it know in this topic!
I have this phone since last Saturday, till now I'm happy with the phone. I installed nova laucher on it, because it works better.
Can't wait to install a custom rom on it, with stock android.
Is this maybe something that can help? Also a Exynos processor.

Someone posted request on Chainfire`s SuperSU thread, maybe he will notice
Step 1. Go into settings and enable installation of apps from unknown sources(settings>security>tick unknown sources)
Step 2. Go to https://towelroot.com/ and tap the brown lambda symbol to download towelroot app
Step 3. After download completes open the file, the android package installer will appear, press install
Step 4. Open the Towelroot app and press the "make it ra1n" button
Step 5. Enjoy your rooted S5
Last time I checked towelroot didn't do the S5 Neo... has this changed?
--EDIT-- Checked... it still does NOT support the S5 Neo.

hopefully we will get a alternative rom and root soon!
I've checked last week towel root and I confirm too that it does not work. Later I'm going to post here 2 pages that show how to root it but 1 one of them at least, I think is something like a fake because I don't trust pages requiring to complete surveys for files downloads...
The other one shows other methods but I tried some of them without success....
Maybe someone can do it.
By now my new s5 neo continue waiting for a root working method....
I've too much apps that need root access like titanium backup or xposed for example, and without all of them, my I9100 with resurrection remix last rom is by y now still being a better useful phone than s5 neo

I was on these sites as well, they're look kinda shady. Because you have several sites with different names, but the same lay-outs.
I don't trust these sites.
Maybe it's an idea to spam Chainfire's his topic? Because someone already asked to make a root for the s5 NEO in there.

DO NOT - repeat - DO NOT go on that survey site publishing an alleged S5 Neo root: it is a scammer.
I already confronted him directly, he also posted a video where he shows that he can download the APK file after submitting a couple of surveys but it is fake.
He's the only one claiming to have a rooting method (isn't it strange? and so soon?) and when confronted directly about his peculiar way of allowing download he hides away... DO NOT trust that, he has NO ROOT whatsoever, just a bunch of ads to make easy money.

Do not try the second one either have read of some people that allready tried all of them (on the site itself 3 people allready say it ain't working..) but didn't work! And there are only 2 reasonable options 1 is king root and the second is idd chainfire. But the second one i don't think we should spam his topic just like the post where the one guy is asking about it!

If you try the newest version it will say that there is no means to root. And you can request for them to research it like i believe 30 have done this according to the app. The more people who do this the more they'll think people actually want this.

Does it has to be done via de application? Or do they have a mail/website? I'm at work now, so can't check now
