my phone is Karbonn Titanium s5 plus which is a MT6582 device (Rooted).
I have installed multiple custom ROMs for testing purpose. Now 2 days ago my phone rejected all custom ROMs but accepted the stock ROM and Sony Xperia V2 ROM. Now the problem is that after installation I find that the file manager is not working and DiskInfo app shows me that my external sd card is not mounted. I searched a lot about this error and was confused. my ext-sdcard is of 16gb and another app called APARTED shows out of that 11580 MB is showing fat32 fs and 4096 MB is showing ext2 fs and both of them are unmounted by the system by default.
when I connect the sd card to my PC with sdcard reader then it shows the contents and the card is absolutely OK.
So there are 2 problems :
1. I cannot install custom roms which I had installed previously in this phone via CWM or TWRP.
2. ext-sdcard not showing anymore in android file manager or any such file xplorers.
so guys any help will be appreciated !

Hi , I have a problem, after installing , through Acer Recovery , Cwm , I can't find a way to install a rom mod , like Thor one, Cmw can't see the update zip in external memory card saying E: can't mount , but card is there and I can see it in Astro file manager and I can't even choose another path, error is the same. Anyone can help?

Common problem, LOTS of posts in here about the same thing over the last few months.
You'll need to reformat your SD in another device, preferably a proper PC, or try a different card (maybe a smaller one).
I have many problems with my two month old defy plus..some problems are really strange and i cant really understand if its a problem with the phone or the sd card...
i am gonna explain all of them.
1. SD card problem..the sd card causes a lot of problem ..the most affected application is swiftkey..after days of working correctly..suddenly a message pops out unable to load language packs..and the keyboard becomes unusable.on unmounting and mounting the sd card..the problem sumtyms goes..sometimes not.
2.applications go missing on their own.
3. transferring files via bluetooth is very very hard...only zip files can be transferred..and sometimes when the transfer fails..the phone has to be rebooted to start transferring again..or sd card has to unmounted and remounted
4.on switching on the phone error messages comes such as " unparseable date"..
5n deleting any folder from the mem card via file explorer..the swiftkey keyboard failes showing messages like unable to load languagepacks or failed to store dyanamic language
6 droid sail frequently fails to move apps to sd card..although my phone is rooted..error messages such as no root no usb debugging is shown..although both of them are on
7:sms back up software not working..it shows write access denied..
8 titanium pro cant be installed.it shows that memory is not available although i have 1 gb of free internal memory
and my last question..will CM9 solve these problems??????

Please inform your ROM, it may help us identify your problem.
But seems to me that your SD Card is corrupted, try inserting it on a computer and formatting it (backup your stuff first).

i am using original ROM..no custom roms installed...and i am doing the formatting right now..will tell if the problem is gone
which version?the stock 2.3.6 is very buggy i suggest to install the 10.18 quarx cm10 build with latest custom kernel its very fast and stable for me

You could check sdcard for errors in Windows (right click on sdcard drive letter & select check for errors) . Windows will correct it automatically. This way u won't loose any data on your sdcard. Don't forget to unplug it safely in windows afterwards, otherwise it may become corrupted again.

yes i am having a lot of problems with the stock firmware...i have a question from you..can u transfer apk files directly from your laptop to your mobile via bluetooth or do you have to zip it first???in my mobile only zip files can be send via bluetooth..nothing else is accepted.
Did you find a fix about sd card problem? I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1596997 but i don't know if the fix works with GB kernels. I have a 2.3.4 stock rom, and i can't write on my sdcard, i can only read it.
Do you have a high class card?
are you using a 32 gb card if yes downgrade to a lower capacity,
or you can try a class 10 card if u r using a class 4 card
or u can use ur large capacity card latter on if u upgrade ur defy plus, say after ur warranty is complete
i am not suggesting trying a new rom because ur defy is just 2 months old and gingerbread is not outdated al the apps come for it

And I found only one disgusting thing. I can't write directly to my external sdcard using 3rd party file managers and gallaries like quickpic.
All the time I need to give path for specific folder!! I hate doing this! Please help me to write data directly on external sd or usb!! I have rooted my device, unlocked bootloader and installed cwm recovery! Plzzz give me suggestions! And help me! Thanks in advance!

I've got a samsung s5 (Australian phone) with stock marshmallow. I purchased a samsung 128gb sd card which i set up as a mixed internal and portable storage partition via adb.
Recently I received a message stating my internal sd partition was corrupted.
I've since deregistered the internal portion of the sd card and have attempted to delete both partitions and start from scratch.
I've tried using a parted from a rooted Android device without success. I've also tried installing a Ubuntu virtualbox partition on my mac with g parted. It can see all partitions on my sd card but doesn't succeed in deleting the partitions and setting it up again.
Can you please help?

Hi I have attempted using this application without success. My sd card has 3 partitions when selecting delete for the three of the partitions and pressing apply the status says success but then the screen refreshes and the deleted partitions reappear.
I've tried using disk utility on my mac without success. I'll try attaching screen shots afterwards.

After research it appears as though none of the apps will let me change the partition table because the sd card adoptable storage is encrypted.

Hi all I have raised this issue on the exfat project home page it appears as though my sd card had an input/output error. Therefore the issue appeared to be hardware related.

s5 wont boot without sd card
I have an s5 g900f Qualcomm version, the phone won't boot or enter recovery mode without an SD CARD inserted i tried flashing stock firmware but the problem remains... please help!!

I have the same problem at my galaxy S5 duos and the problem from mg search in the internet from yesterday till today looks software as many people report it.
The problem that maybe Samsung do it but in the other hand we could not blame on them even in courts as they already block this feature in their phones and we use the developer mode and ADB Shell to modify it.
If there is any soluton please help.
I finally was able to find a safe root for Note 4 5.1.1 stock rom that wouldn't cause a boot loop , next step was to swap internal by external sd , the sd is formated exfat , i have searched and keep finding outdated tutorials with resources killed by time so please for whomever is willing to help to make sure they upload their resources along .
also i managed to download an app that would enable init.d on note 4 (hopefully) so script solution is available .
I got to understand I can not use the normal route of installing xpose and the swap memory app from google play as still till date installing xpose on note 4 would cause a boot loop , is that correct ?
I can't seem to find vold.fstab on stock kernel , so vold manipulation is unavailable too .

p.s , i have seen an older post about manipulating mounts so new apps are installed directly to sd card while still in place but with precaution that if someone copies files to internal memory directly when plugged to a computer the mobile might boot loop i may want to dodge that solution thank you
I have searched more and found a custom belt version for samsung galaxy of xpose , i installed it and installed swap internal memory by sd from app store but yet no matter what it didnt do the swap , so xpose tricks are incompatible .
p.s i never had answers in this forum , why ?
