Xiaomi Redmi 3S ordered from Top One not working - Xiaomi Redmi 3s Questions & Answers

Hello!
I ordered my Xiaomi Redmi 3S via Top One Store and it stopped working after 3 days. It says there is no signal. I tried inserting different SIM cards and it doesn't work with any of them. I tried my SIM with other phones and it works with ALL of them except for Redmi 3S. I wrote to the seller and they weren't responding very quickly. So, I opened a dispute (on Aliexpress) and they wanted me to upload the video showing that I insert SIM card in Redmi 3S and there is no signal and how I insert SIM in another phone (Samsung) and it works. I did just that and there were only 2 bars of signal on Samsung, so they wrote that of course it doesn't work on Redmi if there is weak signal on Samsung. So I had to upload another video with 100% signal on Samsung phone. I shot a video they required but I couldn't upload the video because Aliexpress website had problems. I reported about being unable to upload the video to customer service twice and they guaranteed they will fix the problem (I also have screenshots of them promising me they will fix the problem). My time for uploading the evidence was up because they didn't fix the problem, so my money was released to the seller. I wrote an appeal but it was declined. Now, Top One is not responding, I contacted them several times and there is no reply. I tried everything, flashing the phone, uploading different types of ROM (global, developer's, user's), I also unlocked the boot loader lock. Nothing works. The thing is that there shouldn't be a problem with the carrier because my sister has the same phone and the same carrier and her phone works perfectly. There is a problem with my phone in particular.
I also contacted several other Xiaomi sellers and they only fix their own phones. I contacted official Xiaomi HK Maintenance Service and they figured out that my phone is not a genuine HK version, so they can't fix it because they only fix genuine versions.
Do you have any ideas what I should do? Because Top One is not responding, I can't leave them feedback about the product because so much time has passed while I was writing to different sellers and trying different settings.
Do you know where they repair Xiaomi phones?
I would appreciate any help suggestions and ideas.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards

Help please! SiM card not working

Good morning, my phone card suddenly stopped working on the network a few months ago. I believe I may have disabled some things here and there the night prior, I can't remember. I was moving from Germany to the U.S. the next day, so I had alot on my mind. This is the European variant (SM-G935F). I have tried 3 different SIM cards, one from German T-Mobile and two from Verizon in the U.S. to no avail. I have posted screenshots showing what it says I have for signal. Every once in a while it pops up with a message saying SIM card refreshing or something like that. I have tried putting a piece of paper by the SIM card because possibly the contacts were lose and I also factory reset my phone but nothing works. To send it back to Germany to have them fix it is very expensive and also I don't want to try and interpret everything. I have done that for the last 3 years and would probably end up signing a lease for a car with my limited German language skills. Any thoughts? The phone is perfect other than this issue and I am about to put it on Ebay if I can't get it squared away.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts!
Yandawg
did you try to root it and put the bootloader and firmware of t mobile or verizon?
I haven't tried that because I wanted to keep it unroofed if I needed to sell it on eBay. I might try that as a last step before I sell it though
try to flash your phone with smartswitch or odin with original rom if you are skilled, reset seems cannot recover all your settings.

[1572] No network signal (IMEI is showing)

So, I bought this second-hand MXS just yesterday, and it had digitizer issues the previous owner claimed to have started after the Nougat update. I did some research and found it was a possible cause, among some others (not counting actual damage to the digitizer). Tried flashing a few stock firmares and, apart from not solving the digitizer issue (which I'll be replacing soon), now I don't get any signal on either SIM card slots. OS recognizes both SIM cards, their operators and so on, *#06# shows IMEI, but I don't get signal at all. I can even perform an operator search and sometimes get results (sometimes I get a "error while searching for networks" message), but I never get to register in the network. It shows "can't connect to this network right now, try again later", right now I'm using 2 SIM cards and one of them is from the only operator showing when searching works.
Right now I'm on antariksh's RRemix, my device is a dual SIM XT1572. Last flashed modem is from XT1572_CLARK_RETLA_DS_7.0_NPHS25.200-15-8_cid12_subsidy-DEFAULT_CFC.xml, and modem files show all right in my /etc/firmware folder.
Any help is hugely appreciated, even if you guys have modem files just lying around your HDDs and are willing to upload them so I can give a shot. Thanks in advance.
Did you get your issue solved?
I'm also facing same issue... if you got some fix, then kindly let me know. Thanks

Unfortunately I'll be of no help, since I sold the device a few days later to someone who bought it for replacement parts.
What I can update you in is that the device, after several modem-only flashes (via fastboot), sometimes got signal for a brief time, then went to no signal again. Since it happened the day before I sold it, I wasn't able to dig further into the issue, but I recommend you let the phone "settle" for some time to see if it starts getting signal more frequently. At least I can tell you it probably isn't a hardware issue, but I found no permanent solution. I also don't remember which modem firmware it ended up with, but I do recall that the "signal shows up sometimes" happened in more than one firmware.

No sim card detected

Long story short: I bought a Xiaomi mi 9t and as soon as I started it for the first time both sim can't be detected. Sometimes it tries to detect the sim card number one but it fails shortly after.
So far I've factory updated to the latest MIUI and factory resetted some times, but the problem persists.
I've noticed the sim slot sometimes scrapes my sim card and on the side of the phone there was a short piece of plastic that came out of the case, which I removed.
What could it be? Defective sim card slot or maybe something software wise?
EDIT: forgot to add that I've already tried with multiple other sim cards and they all show the same problem.
Kind regards
Does the sim card work in another phone?

Yes, it does.
Had the exact same problem but it went away with the latest update, (Global 10.3.10.0). I am not, however sure that it is a software problem since the sim-card was detected after giving the sim-card tray an extra push. Have not have any problem since the first day.

I'm glad it went away for you, but I can't find the 10.3.10 MIUI, I have 10.3.9
EDIT: I've found the 10.3.10 but it's EU and I can't seem to install it because I have global rom. Any way to switch without unlocking the bootloader?
@4ur0r did you get it fixed?
I bought a mi 9t with the same problem : /
It's a global version with MIUI 10.3.11
I'm having the same issue. It was working fine for me for weeks even after unlocking the bootloader n using pixel experience rom.
One day the phone lost signal and never came back. I thought it was a carrier issue so i contacted mint sim, they sent me a different sim card. But same issue, then i tried the sim on a different phone and it worked so now i know something is wrong with this phone.
Same issue here. Just got my new phone today, latest update is on. Literally sim will go undetected after about 5 minutes.
I have the same issue. I find out workaround. You have to insert 2 sim card and than smartphone detect all sims.
Got the same issue, even installing a new SIM card reader.
Someone know how to fix it?
mine had the problem, turned out most MI 9t have Sim card hardware broken. i went back and replaced it
I purchased Redmi k20 on 12-11-2020
But after 4 days it shows no sim what can I do for this problem

Mi 9t pro pop up camera failed to work/calibrate

Hi, have searched in the forum for all possible solution but non worked, the camera just failed to pop up.
The problem occurs once i leave my phone idle for awhile and required a few tries/restart to pop the camera back up.
Anyway i've lodged a warranty claim at a local service centre in Malaysia and they've told me that i am not the only one facing this issue and it was likely caused by the hardware than the software.
Was really disappointed especially it was my first try Xiaomi's product.
Model that i am having is MI 9T Global variant.
Sometimes i face the dame issue... I take care to Open the camera 2-3 times a day cuz that

OnePlus 8 T-Mobile Repair Nightmare

Figured I share my repair experience here as OnePlus has set a new low in my book for customer service. Started when I sent my device (unlocked by T-Mobile) for repair last month. I was given the option of repair or replacement but chose repair so I wouldn't have to unlock again. I received it back about a week later but with no documentation as what the repair was (found out through my calles it was a motherboard replacement. I did notice the SN was the same but the IMEI was different. Used it for 3 days and called T-Mobile to have it unlocked but their system now sees my device as a non-T-Mobile phone and they can't unlock it (and they have tried 4 times since Sept 25th). Over the past few weeks I have conferenced on T-Mobile support with OnePlus support in an attempt to get it unlocked and every time I call it's like starting from scratch with OnePlus. Four times now I've been told to wait 24-48 hours so they can hear back from there repair facility, I've made 14 total calls to check status (they have never called me back once). T-Mobile has been absolutely great and were on the phone with OnePlus with me for over an hour. So for know unless a miracle happens I'm stuck with a phone that can't be network unlocked by any carrier. Looks like the repair facility perhaps used a standard motherboard and flashed the T-Mobile firmware on it from what I can determine. If you need service for a T-Mobile device ALWAYS choose a replacement if you have the option)
Rule #1: Never ever choose repair when replace is an option. XDA is rife with people complaining about repair issues with every phone manufacturer. But I think you know that now. Also, I would hardly fault OnePlus in this situation. Its a simple issue of the IMEI not being in the T-Mobile database. Thats not OnePlus' fault. Thats a T-Mobile issue. IT can be added to there database. Verizon does this but for a completely different reason. But ultimately fault is in the eye of the beholder.
Also, to further support my claim think of it this way... T-Mobile (and Verizon) request the bootloader / SIM lock. If you buy the non carrier version from One Plus this would be a mute point. Again, a T-Mobile issue, not OnePlus. If you really want to get technical fault the US Congress for allowing them to lock in the first place. Ok Ok... Way off on a tangent...
Now... Some questions for you...
Have you ran the IMEI against an IMEI check database to see what kind of device it returns as? I would be curious to see. Another way to find out if its a T-Mobile device is to check the IMEI against your last phone. If the first few digits are the same or different will support your claim of the device being different.
Have you tried to tried to toggle the bootloader unlock switch or is it gray'ed out?
Have you tried popping in another carriers SIM just for giggles?
Lastly, have you tried to unlock it yourself by using the built in unlock program in network settings?
If that fails you may want to consider sending it back to OnePlus again for replacement. I can only assume that you do not have insurance? If you do then you may want to check with them about replacement faulting the IMEI as the issue. Might be a hard sell but I'm sure it could be done.

Same situation here, mine was unlocked did a replacement and it was locked and T-Mobile has no record of it. It took me 17 days to get the replacement and every day I checked the status I get told wait 24-48 hours. Now after I got it I'm told every day to wait 3-5 days for an update. Really one plus?
One plus sucks at anything customer service. Can you not do a warranty through tmobile?
Hi, i have the same problem. I was able to unlock my OP8 the moment I bought it. But after sending my OP8 for repair, it was locked when sent back. I got the error "server 255" when I tried to do a permanent unlock.
I contacted Tmobile and they said I need a valid tmobile account, which I don't:
"One of our mobile device unlock requirements is an active T-Mobile account. Since you don't have one you're going to need the get the unlock via a 3rd party company. Our apologies for this."
I have contacted OP 4 times now. They say they'll escalate my problem to the relevant team.
So how did u ppl solve it? Anyone tried the mtd below:

I hate oneplus with a passion I'm 8 months and still going with an issue they keep BS'n me on
Hi, I would like to post an update. After contacting OP support a few times thru chat, they agree to help me talk to Tmobile directly. I told them I can't use the phone, I'm overseas (really, no joke), and I contacted Tmobile but they refused to help.
After waiting for a few days, my IMEI is whitelisted and I was able to unlock the phone. So I guess if you are persistent enough and tell them tt you've exhausted your options, they will help. So I guess they're still nice ppl (kudos to Sophia!)
Hope someone with similar problem can try what I did.
Just wanted to fan the flames that OnePlus is still up to their BS. I sent my phone to repair the back glass after I recovered from unbricking my phone rooting after the Android 13 OTA. When I get it back, after all these warnings signs something was off I realized when I tried to put my unlock_code.bin and it kept failing that they gave me a new motherboard. Luckily I AM a Tmobile customer, but holy heck, what if I was not? Luckily somehow I was able to get in to get the info to request another code to unlock my bootloader even though I'm still carrier locked.

I just had my op8 repaired back with a motherboard replacement so that it can't unlock the sim as I am not a T mobile customer. I used online chat several times and complained about sim-unlock. Finally, after I gave them both old and new imei and strong complain, they unlocked my sim card. Not a good experience, but the result turned out to be good.
