Compatible cases? - YotaPhone

Do any of you know of a phone out there of the same height/width with a similar curvature? I'm interested in a normal case that would cover up the LED panel, making it an E-Ink phone only.
It would need a couple modifications, like a hole for the speaker and buttons, but that's easy enough to do.

you mean something like flipcover for led display ?

A flipcover would be ideal. I didn't find anything like that after searching, so I'm thinking more like a normal case that happens to cover the led display. I could then take off the case when I needed the display for whatever reason.

Might help
How about buying a screen protector for the back and spray painting the outside black, then putting another on top of that?
You can buy them on Aliexpress for $1.50 for 5.
I assume you searched for phones with a 4.7" screen. www.phonebunch.com/phone-filter/dis...oPb83xkZtPG0KITrw&sig2=x2AkDXXf_PpXrErP-7AKiw

Maybe I can help with this. My previous phone case (Samsung Galaxy Grand Duos I9082, flip case with silicone) worked quite well with YP2 with silicone case (not without). I can even plug my earphone through the hole because they aligned quite well. The other case I tried was Google Pixel. It's a bit tight horizontally if I put the YP2 with the silicone case, but it also worked quite well but not the earphone hole.
Not sure if you don't count the added thickness of the silicone case though.
In the other hand, in Aliexpress/ Banggood/etc. I've seen a few flip cover advertised for YP2, but not sure about them in real life as the pictures in the ads don't show any YP2.

Another case thread...Slimmest Kaiser Case?

Well there seems to be a lot of views about the best cases out there, just wondered what the most 'pocket friendly' case was?
Don't care about the material as long as it isn't a sock or a stick-on option (ie an actual case)
Definitely no belt loop, preferably a very low profile clasp etc...
Basically just want something that is likely to stop it getting scratched up in a bag or if it was dropped, but don't need full armour!
Any good suggestions?
I've been looking for something pocket friendly as well... I'm almost ready to just get a thin sunglass pouch... currently I'm using a case for a Sprint Mogul, but it has a belt clip...
i use an ipod slip case, and have pulled off the belt clip, gives good protection to the screen,
going to order a leater slip case from www.pdair.com to see what thats like
I've got one of these - http://www.pdair.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=10100000_900000_11000164&products_id=6561
Doesn't add much to the size at all, and I keep mine in my pocket all the time.
Here is what I'm using, it comes in Black, Brown or Pink:
http://www.wirelessground.com/tiltflipblack.html
It covers the back and front very well, the cut outs are aligned very well, it has a slimmer form factor than the Krussel Orbit I normally use.
Here is the one my spouse uses, it comes in Black or White:
http://www.boxwave.com/products/dlsleeve/at_t-tilt-designio-leather-sleeve_2906.htm
I just ordered one of these yesterday. I will let you know how it is hopefully tomarrow or over the weekend.

i would be interested in your opinions and if you could confirm these points for me:
1) Can you still use the touch screen?
2) If the slide up and tilt works fine with the case on
3) The general quality and how bulky it is in a pocket
this looks perfect for me as i wanted a 2 piece armour case where i could still slide open the phone

The "tiltflipblack" is made by PDair and is available for 1/2 that price. I've had one for several weeks and it still looks new, and I wear it every day. It's the perfect case for me.
The slimest most "pocketable" case I've found yet, is the formfitting Noreve case as seen here:
http://www.pocketpcfreak.com/archive/00006945.htm
It is also one of the very few - true - formfitting cases (using a laminated leather design, w/o the ugly and disturbing plasting cover over the KB. It protects the front and back really well, if not so much the sides. Easy to use and good workmanship.
Actually it IS meant (IMO) for pocket carrying.
Have it for about a month, still looks as new. If however looking for a drawback, then to my daily use pattern there is one. While in the case using the Kaiser/Tilt for navigation (in a cradle) needs taking it out of the case.

Just wanted to add my comments based on owning 4 different cases for the Tilt/Kaiser ...
The PDAir aluminum cased is good and pocketable. It is a little on the heavy side, but I've carried it arond now for a couple of weeks and it's all right. The downside is that there is a hard plastic protector over the touchscreen of the Tilt. You have to open the case to use the touchscreen or you have to take the hard plastic out. You can either cut out or push it out with some force, but the plastic is glued in and is under the neoprene that cushions the Tilt against the case. Not the smallest feel in the pocket, but no leather covered cardboard bulk feel. The size of this reminds me of a naked 8125 in my pocket (did that without disaster for almost 2 years).
I also tried the PDAir leather flip case. That one is definitely not pocketable unless you have some REALLY big pockets. And I'm not a big flip cover guy. Another strike is the plastic keyboard cover.
I also tried the Noreve and it's a nice leather case. I would consider this one pocketable, it's rather slim. But it has the flip cover. The good thing is that it has no plastic keyboard cover. It's a little loose when you close the cover with the snap. It's not loosely held in ... that's a good fit. But the snap doesn't hold the flip cover down as firmly as I'd like.
Lastly, I JUST snapped on one of the plastic snap-on kind. Good fit, but not sure how much the plastic will help in a fall. It snapped on tightly ... so tightly it took 15 minutes to get it off! I did not like that at all. If something goes wrong and you need to drop the battery quickly ... 'quickly' won't happen with this case. You can still use the touchscreen and it's a very tight snap on fit. Doesn't add much bulk or weight for pocket storage. NOTE: if you pick one of these up, be careful and check whether the belt clip button on the case is screw on or permanent. The permanent ones won't be pocketable.
The best feel in the pocket is the plane Tilt/Kaiser with no case. But I know I'm pushing my luck if I continue to do that. Still switching up to see what I end up liking most. Hope this info helps folks.

1) Can you still use the touch screen?
YES!
The openings for the keypad and LCD are tappered to provide the best access to the edges but they become alittle harder to get at due to the thickness of the plastic.
2) If the slide up and tilt works fine with the case on
Yes the screen slides out and up to the normal position. The upper softkeys are silightly harder to get at when tilted due to the tickness of the plastic.
3) The general quality and how bulky it is in a pocket
Fit was tight, and snapped into place. I do not plan to use the clip as it is optional, but I will follow up with a proper review and test it out. I will get exact mesuraments later but it is not a big change and well worth the extra size.

Yup! Cheap Too!
I will follow up with a better review tonight.
What I do not understand about using the transparent plastic snap, is why the hack would one need a case at all when all the really "pocket sensitive" components (Touch screen, Camera lens) are not covered at all... IMO if one is indiferent to this, they may not need a case at all.
I guess that all cases are kind of trade offs. Whatever protects adds bulk in the zones protected, light protection protects less than heavy armor but presents snappier use and so on.
The potentially best solution I've seen yet is actually not offered for the Tilt/Kaiser. It is made by EB Cases and called the eNovo. It is made of sturdy yet thin laminated leather, offering a form fitting case with an optional leather flip.
http://www.ebcases.com/-strse-3333/eNOVO-PAQ-6500/Detail.bok
I'm trying for some time to convince EB, Noreve and BoxWave (the ones apparently having the technology) to think about it...
Cheers,

I picked this up from DayDeal.com and it didnt' fit my ATT tilt. the back does but the front will not stay on
i picked up the alum. case for travel and biking it is perfect. also from DayDeal

Best case for being able to answer incoming calls with

I had a 8525, for a while and now got the tilt I had tried a lot of those plastic cases and other vertical and horizontal cases, my case that I ended using a lot for my 8525 was a simple leather case with all screen and front button visible and press able, the sides were quite exposed and all buttons were functional, camera was not visible but phone was easy to take out to txt or take pics.
I am looking for a case that I can see the screen preferably without having to flip anything or take the phone out, I do not care too much about having the phone keyboard slide out.
Sadly I was not able to find the same style of case for my tilt as I have had for my 8525 on ebay to me its really nice to be able to pick up phone and then quickly put it back on your belt or on your pocket.
I have seen something close but it has a flap, and it does have the keyboard sticking out, I just want to know if this has the camera visible or not and how easy would this case be to take off?
I plan to swap batteries as I don’t like charging my phone, it heats up a lot with charging phone and battery, I always had 2-3 extra batteries for my 8525 and never had to worry about low battery I had one or 2 fully charged ready to go any time.
The case in question is this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Leather-Case-FO...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Here is another but meats even less of my requirements
http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HTC-TYTN-II...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
this item meets requirements but has no plastic cover over the screen, so all the dmg resistance would be at the screen protectors job
http://cgi.ebay.com/FOR-HTC-TYTN-II...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
has anyone else found something what i was talking about that is same with my 8525? i would use it if it would fit the tilt but that case does not
Thanks for directing me to the case in the 2nd link. It is just what i think i am looking for--a case which can fit a couple memory cards and credit cards, which also promises to fit the extended 3000mah mugen battery case--all things that my current seidio rubberized case cannot do.
Regarding the case which you are looking for, have you considered one of those metal cases? they don't provide quick access to the keyboard but do have cutouts for all the necessary buttons, and a physical "plexiglass" window covering the screen... from your description of what you need, they seem to fit the bill more closely.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Jet-Black-AT-T-...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com/SILVER-HARD-MET...ryZ15036QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I guess, FWIW, I am currently using the Seidio case, which is very nice, as far as it goes. The fit is perfect, it looks and feels great, and it also provides me with quick and unhindered access to the keyboard and all keys & functions. But as you said, it does not have a physical screen protector (i just use a regular screen protector, and it has done fine in my pocket so far). But it doesn't have any storage for memory cards or other things, nor is it able to fit my extended mugen battery when i want to use it. when i am using the Mugen, i just have to carry the kaiser loose in my pocket, but again with the screen protector.
The PDair aluminium case may fulfil your requirements.
The buttons/camera is exposed and the screen is protected by hard plastic. Can answer phone without doing anything, and is protected quite nicely. Pop open the front cover and you can slide out the keyboard.
i guess i should restate by what i mean answer the phone i mean to be able to see the screen right of the bat with the phone in the case its the cheapo case that most oems make, simple one point button snap at top, the only hard material is the back side, the rest of the device is held by leather like straps the screen is protected with a thick clear plastic/silicon material, and the front buttons.
i dont know i looked almost at all the ebay items listed when i did a search nothing came up that was exact as the one i had for the 8525.
the case also did not add much thickness to the phone, only the leather thickness pluse the back side and the belt clip.
I had tried all those snap on plastic, other full vertical with magnet and velcro and all that stuff... i ended up using that cheap and simple case for my hermes/8525 :/ now i want same for my tilt.
i might just take a pic.
Sorry when I said hard plastic I meant hard _transparent_ plastic.

Seidio Innocase Surface Case - Pictures??

Has anybody purchased the Seidio Innocase Surface case?? Could you post some pictures?? I'm debating if I want it or not, but one picture on their website really doesn't show how thick it really is on the phone. Also looking at opinions if you have it on your Touch Pro/FUZE. Thanx.

That thread has links to the Seidio site, which has pictures of the case from different angles.
More specifically...if you go through this link and "mouse over" the picture of the case, it'll magnify the area:
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSR2HTFE-BK
If you actually click on the picture, it will take you to this page, which has a few different angles.
http://www.seidioonline.com/PhotoGallery.asp?ProductCode=CSR2HTFE-BK
I saw those pictures on the website, but you can't really see the area around the screen very much to see how deep the screen is with the case on. I don't use the stylus much and I think if the case is too thick, I will have trouble hitting the corner buttons (start, calendar, contacts) with my finger. Any thoughts?

Please also let us know how well this case works for you. There is a similar type of case for $10 on ebay which causes a phone lockup due to improper fit around the screen:

The problem rears its ugly face usually after a couple days of use...
I'd be willing to pay 3x for a case that actually works!

I honestly don't see how any of these cases would work better than the ebay one. I had the BG one which actually is worse than the ebay unit. The ebay unit I have has been fine for more than a few days. It has to do with the flush screen of the FUZE so any excessive pressure against the screen would render the screen inoperable over time. BUT without the pressure/tension, there would be play once the upper piece is snapped on.
There isn't really much room to do this due to the flush screen IMHO.
I bought a similiar case from Brando. It is clear plastic instead of black. It works well and there was another thread about it here. It just blocks the PTT button on the Fuze. Ive used it for a month and it works fine, no screen problems. Only problem for me is one of the tabs came off, but it still stays on nice and sturdy. Its adds quite some thickness to this already thick phone.
I switched to the Innocase w/ holster about 1 week ago from the Body Glove 2-pc Snap Case. I like both:
The Body Glove is built like a Brick S--- House, has a very nice non-slip finish that actually matches a resident wallpaper. The phone is very safe in this case however, its a pocket carry, no belt clip.
The Innocase is half the thickness of the Body Glove. It fits like 2nd skin and has a silky feel and seems to be a bit slippery. The holster at 1st glace scared me. Thought the phone would pop out but I have found after a week of use, its just fine and very handy. The clip that holds the phone is spring loaded and can be locked to keep the phone from being removed if needed. The only problem I see is for those of you who wish to holster your phone and listen to music with a wired connection. The Headphone jack is slightly obscured by the Lock clip of the holster. Nothing a Dremel tool couldn't fix very quickly.
As stated, I like them both but use the Innocase as my daily protection. If I find myself exposed to rougher conditions, my choice is the Brick S--- House case from Body Glove. Both fit like second skin.

Offical Smart Flip case

Hi all fellow Priv'ers
Just thought I'd share my experience now that I finally got the official smart flip case.
First impressions are it's a premium case, with real leather finish and doesn't bulk out the Priv too much and feels really nice to the touch.
What's really great about it is the 'smart' functionality, which basically means that when fitted and the case closed what you get is a square cut out on the front that displays the time etc. when the power switch is pressed and the case is closed. It also shows recent missed calls, emails, notifications, etc. on screen and allows you to flick up and view the details of the notifications without having to open the case, so very handy allowing you to quickly see what notification has come through. The case also has a cut out where the notification light is (top right) so that lights up still and is noticeable even with the case closed.
I paid around £25 GBP on Ebay for mine, from here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/BRAN...0068&clkid=1598827080704154862&_qi=RTM2108002
The case retails for £45 GBP officially, so a bit of a bargain.
I can get some pics uploaded of it in action if anyone's interested as not seen anything posted anywhere else about the case.
FYI the plastic slider "hard" case is cheap plastic, it does fit the phone well but makes it too wide to fit into the leather slip-in pouch and personally I find it feels tacky.
Happy with the leather slip-in pouch, tight fit and it has holes in the right places for charging and notification lights.

I agree with you that plastic seemed like a bad move and should have been some aircraft grade aluminum or something. That said, I think the added width and thickness make it easier to type on the physical keyboard because some of the keys are no longer on the edge and I also don't trust myself to drop it outside of the pocket pouch and it only takes once.
Also, I found a guy on esty selling handmade leather Priv pouches in various leather colors for less than the OEM pouch. I contacted him with my new Priv dimensions with hardshell and he said he had no problem with the custom order.
I think if it's a night on the town, I might use the phone naked with OEM pouch but everyday use, I'm going with hardshell with custom pouch.
here are a couple pics of his work:
pics
I've got both the tan smart flip and blue slider brand new boxed if anyone wants them. Just pm me and I'll do a good price in the UK. Both unused because I returned the Priv before use. I really didn't think it was an upgrade over my note 4 after using it for just over a week. Since I've bought the note 5 which is amazing.
Can I have a pics of them? Im interested.

The slider case is a bit tacky for sure - but, does protect the phone very well, though the amount of bulk added is substantial. I received both the Priv and the case together so never really used the phone naked. Couple of days ago I was showing the phone to a friend and he asked me to take it out of the case. I must say I was surprised myself at how compact the Priv really is - not just for a device with a full Qwerty keyboard, for any phone, Blackberry have done extremely well in putting all in such a small package.
The flip case looks quite nice - how easy do you find it to use the sliding keyboard with it?. does it require flipping the front cover to the back??.

Cool, yes the flip case (which is very slim too) needs flipping/opening to allow access to the keyboard but as the front is super slim (maybe 3-4mm) once opened it tucks behind fine so using the keyboard is not hampered at all.
Do you have any issues with them?
My got something like wrinkles on it and start ripping.
Also have the wrinkling on the outside of the hinge area, guess it's not the most robust leather they used huh! :-/

S9+ case that doesn't cover the edge

Hello,
I am looking for a cover, and i checked every thread here and didn't see anyone talking about that :
A cover that fit well without covering the edge of the S9+ and not disturbing the usage of the edge functionalities (like the edge panel).
The only cover i saw that seem to do that is the Pitaka MagCase
But 50$ for a cover is just insane.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Spigen Rugged Armor, I have this case. It covers the entire back, and has a nice recess for the finger print sensor so you can find it without looking. It covers the side buttons and has a textured one for the bixby button. Possibly to help you avoid it? I dont know lol
I doesnt cover the sides of the screen at all and the edge display works without problem. At the top and the bottom it does protrude a little, so as to lift the display up if it is face down etc, but how well that actually helps I don't know. Very good case though.
Cost me £8.99 on Amazon.co.uk

There is a thread about cases people have, it might also be worth looking in there. My old phone has the same style (rugged armor) case for it and has been great, so I went with that this time.
I just bought the I baiason case off amazon.. covers front and back and covers for the buttons and headphone and power.. just got it yesterday and isnt bulky at all and I only spent 20 on mine..
I run an OtterBox defender, and have full access to the edge, and use the edge panel often...
Every single case I've tried lets the edge functions work just fine, for me. My reviews here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s9-plus/accessories/case-reviews-t3763881
I bought an incipio. Very good. Leaves plenty of edge space, Dual layer, but thin. Ive had this phone for a year and a half, and I even bought a backup case, just in case, lol no pun, but no, i haven't had to and ive dropped my poor phone more than thrice. I do have gorilla 6 glass protection though. Not one dang scratch.
This is the one i use. 3/8ths edge.
