Downgrade 7.1 preview to 7.0 OTA? - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Does any one has the OTA file/url for downgrade from npf10c to official 7.0?
Im stuck on bootloop with OME lock and USB debug disable.
Sideloda npf10c OTA successfully, but still bootloop.

Just go to android.com/developers and get the factory image.

Actually the link is https://developers.google.com/android/images

Locked bootloader...
So no flashing factory images, only sideloda OTA.
That OTA is my last hope and Google wont give me the link.

You're trying to click the accept button? Happened to me. Go to the section you have to read and scroll all the way through. The link will work now

The link works. But i cant flash factory images becouse the bootloader is locked.
I cant sideload the Otas from the link (change to full OTA in meny) couse i have newer build (7.1 preview npf10c)
The only 2 existing OTAs i can sidelod is the same version im on 7.1 dev preview (dont work, have tryed)
And the OTA (not a factory image) you get when you quit preview program.
But i cant get the OTA becouse im in bootloop.
Google hasen releast it public and dont want to give me a link.
The only way i can get this OTA is if some kind soul quit devpreview, get the OTA och goes in to logcat and copy the url.
This is my last chance to get my phone working. ( I can also wait untill 7.1 official OTA is released.)

Can't you unlock the bootloader and flash stock factory image?

No, i havent checked "Allow OME unclock" in dev setttings. Verry stupid off me.
So i cant unlock bootloader!

I thought opting out of the beta would revert you to the latest stable OTA, which should be available on this site. Is that not the case?
https://developers.google.com/android/ota
From the beta website: You may opt-out of the program at any time to return to the stable, public version of Android.?*Note: If you opt-out when your device is running a beta version of Android, all user data on the device will be wiped.
Edit: Have you also tried cache wipe & factory reset from stock recovery?

Its somthing special whit it. Couse all old OTAs just say cant install, you are on newer build.
Whipe, factory and sideload the npf10c OTA many times in diffrent sequens.
The magic OTA is my last hope, i have been in contact with Techno Bill at Google.
When i tried to get a link from him i got this responsen
"?*Sorry, but Google has never published these, and not many folks that are un-enrolling are savvy enough to capture the URL."
I founded DP3 -> MM OTA here on xda, but it cant be used in my case.

Cant adb sideload any of the standard 7.0 becouse im on 7.1 dev preview. I get error message saying you are on newer build. Tried all 4 7.0 OTAs.
Need special downgrade OTA that Google dont publish on the web.

Look there. Its the same but diffrent version matt links to.

Dont help.
My options seems to be verry limited.
The only things i haven't tryed that could help is..
1. Sideload the special revet OTA (dont have the link)
2. Sideload a newer build (Dont exist atm). Here i probally have to wait for newer dev preview och final 7.1.
I have been trying whipeing, sidelode (almost evry OTA i can find) and factory reset.
And still i have bootloop:good:

Then unfortunately it's the same NAND bug that's killing other 6Ps. If flashin the same OTA again, and clearing all data doesn't fix it, then nothing will. Sorry.

Ota 7.1 (npf10c) -> 7.0 (NBD91K)

I have the same problem - bootloop and locked bootloader - and i'm on 7.1.1. N4F260 on my Nexus 6P. Is there a downgrade OTA fix for me? Nothing else has worked.

For anyone in here looking for solution to boot loop. If you have access to boot loader but NOT recovery, and flashing factory images through boot loader does not fix it you most likely are looking at the BLOD. Many threads in this section are discussing RMA and their experience with it.

That's what I was thinking. If we downgrade to 4.4.4 without flashing the bootloader, and then when we receive the notification for the system version 23.26.1 (like other users of kitkat are getting), we can accept the OTA and upgrade to the latest version of lollipop. This way, our bootloader stays on the latest version and when the OTA runs, it will only rewrite the bootloader and not downgrade it..so I guess this is the only solution who have lost stock recovery.

1) I was on stock 5.0.2+13mb+7mb with root
2) I got ota for 5.1
3) No usb
4) So wiped everything and restored backup of 5.1 provided by jonaa
This means my bootloader has not been updated ... right?
and yeah kk users are getting 23.26.1 as full ota
while 5.1 users are getting it as 7.8 mb ota update..

no need.. make sure u had restored backup of 5.1 (this makes sure that u havent updated yr bootloader) then u can flash 4.4.4
i dont know whether we can downgrade after updating the bootloader or not!!
make sure u have this bootloader!!
if u are having bootloader with 50.0E (sha-4ed7eaf, 2015-04-06 )
then its the updated one... so dont try to downgrade as we do not know what will be the result.
(ps- if u are updating from 4.4.4 o 5.1 by keeping zip in sdcard ... then yr bootloader is been updated- as in my case!)
dammit. that's my bootloader.
basically now waiting someone uploading the twrp backup...

edit: you can try on the fly twrp:
1. put twrp image on fastboot directory
2. reboot to bootloader
3. fastboot boot twrp.img (change the filename/path if needed)

@ChaTy Bro you can temporarily boot into TWRP without flashing it. You just have to use the command "fastboot boot twrp.img" (just put twrp recovery in your adb folder and name it as twrp.img). This doesn't flash the recovery. This way you will have your stock recovery intact. And you can make a backup of your system and boot partitions and ZIP the backup and upload it for us

Can we Downgrade Galaxy A5 from Lollipop to KitKat?

I'm looking forward to upgrade my A5 to russian Lollipop via Odin, the problem is if one day for some reason I need to downgrade back to KitKat, is it possible to downgrade? I mean if it is possible then does this recommended (to downgrade)? is there any consequences of this (like loosing warranty, bricked, etc)?
No, i would not recommend to try to downgrade. Several guys including me have hardbricked their device doing so.
also i hard bricked my device after downgrading.so you better dont do it

Be a Man and update it and downgrade it as much as u woold like me; but be smart and follow strictly the instructions. Sometimes, u will face problems that s how we learn to solve em. u ll need luck courage and a mind
I had already said in another post that this phone, more than others, has been a bit "tricky" and problematic.
also because of what has happened to others, do not. not that brick is sure, but is 70%
otherwise, try the new deodex http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/deodex-deodex-thread-samsung-galaxy-a3-t3174124
If you want to downgrade back to kitkat, you need to factory reset you're device including internal storage before you flash 4.4.4, if you encounter issues with no imei/baseband unknown. You will have to flash again.

I disagree. I downgraded both my A3 and A5 from 5.0.2 to 4.4.4 since that the damn lollipop is ubber laggy and keeps on freezing it.
Before downgrading make sure that you do a clear dalvik then wipe cache then go to odin mode flash it twice. The first flash even if its successful will boot loop your device. The 2nd flash will work like a charm. Mine is doing fine again.
hello
your phone doesn’t get bricked unless you try to “wipe data/factory reset” in ClockworkMod Recovery while trying to install a new ROM.

Ehm.... what the hell are you talking about ? Rooting and downgrading firmware is something totaly different.
I'm on the french 5.0.2. lollipop firmware at this moment, i downgraded a few times before from this lollipop firmware to KK (simply because root is only possible on KK, but then i find myself wanting lollipop again).
You want me to explain ? Well its simply firing up Odin and flash the firmware. Very simple. But this in on the SM-700F, not sure if its different on A3 or A5.
You tell me you was on 5.0.2 and you succeed to downgrade to 4.4.4 without brick, only with Odin and original 4.4.4 firmware ? I'm on french 5.0.2 and have SM-A700F too. ..

Yes, i told you that. And it works perfectly. Maybe you should try it yourself if you want to downgrade. Its very hard to brick a device with original firmware. You have to be a total idiot to do that like flashing firmware from another device or something.
But you have done that when the 5..0.2 was available on your country ?
---------- Post added at 10:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:37 PM ----------
Normally when an OTA or update is available officially it's impossible to return back to an old version

I also, humbly and respectfully, request that you do not blame the phone for your flashing problems. And I most humbly ask that you try to do additional reading and searching before you do anything else to your device. Almost all of your issues have been previously addressed in older posts and searching and reading are expectations for members. Hope the above link gets you there... :highfive:

You go straight to MM from 194 version. But make sure you fully unroot before ugrading to MM if you currently have root. If not, just sideload the MM zip and do a factory reset when you're finished.

Try reboot to recovery mode and wipe data factory reset. If it does not work, follow this guide in this thread.

While in fastboot mode, disconnect from your computer and reconnect. It should work.

From fastboot, you have to flash the LP raw image which is in OP. Then, you can sideload the latest MM zip.

New Beta 7.1.2(NPG47I) Released today 3-20-17

Just received a notice that a new Beta version NPG47I is being pushed currently. 328.9MB in size.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up!
First thing I notice is on start-up there is now a "Powered by Android" at the bottom.
March 5th Security updates.
Thanks for the heads up! Having a problem installing. It downloads fine and then fails installing shortly after the installation starts. Probably because I am rooted, but I was rooted when I installed the beta to begin with and it worked fine.
OTA for NPG47I from NPG05E (330MB download)
https://ota.googlezip.net/packages/.../890d20b59c4edeeef494b2bd8ae7830b14fe7df4.zip
Code:

ota-type=AB

Verizon?
I decided to load this up from my Verizon version to see what happens. It's a 841.7 MB update (from whatever the latest version was pushed out, I had already missed the boat on first the system update that locked the BL).
What are my options if I'm able to unlock the bootloader while in this beta?
It seems if I un-enroll from the beta, I'll get wiped?
I mainly just want to be able to run a rom and edit my build.prop.
Yes. It will wipe the entire device if you unenroll. I would wait to see if someone builds a custom ROM based off of the new build if your intent is to modify.

Well, I'll have to wait for more experienced people to mess with this, if there's anything to do with it. The toggle in my dev options for unlock is still greyed out.
If you un enroll in the beta and accept the OTA to the latest stable then it will wipe your device. If you un enroll then flash the latest stable it should keep your files as long as you take out the -w in the .bat file.
wow nice
If I delete SuperSu, do you guys think I will be able to take the OTA successfully? Its weird because I was rooted when I installed the beta to begin with and had no issues. Just had to root again afterwards.
Does it have the same old Google camera or anything newer?

Same. It actually contains an older build that is updatable via the play store to the current 4.3.016
Couldn't update. I was rooted, did full unroot, but still couldn't update. Anyone have a flashable .zip?

Yeah same here, full unroot and flashed back system boot/recovery and still no go.
Can't do OTA or sideload with ADB
So this image won't be available on Google's server separately? And the stable 7.1.2 is supposedly coming on 3rd April?

You can manually flash the 7.1.1 factory image without wiping the device.

Am I able to flash this without wiping? I am currently on the first 7.1.2 beta. Can't take the OTA due to being rooted, but unrooting doesn't seem to help either.

Yes, just remove the '-w' in flash-all.bat.
ok so i flashed just the radio from the latest beta, radio-marlin-8996-012901-1702171013.img, and no signal and baseband unknown when booted in to the O.S. had to update the bootloader to the Beta2 bootloader in order to flash the radio back at all. does anyone have the beta1 image? i loved the radio in it it worked great.
