Multiple phone codes aren't working? - Sprint HTC 10 Questions & Answers

##3282#
##72786#
Neither of those codes do anything for me when I dial them. I really need to get the 3282 one to work, does this phone not have EPST built in? Can I download it from somewhere?

They both work on my 10. I am using badboyz rom.

Phone Status wrong number

I just flashed to Cyanogen and my phone status screen is showing the wrong phone number. How do I change this? I had the number changed on my Evo a few weeks ago and the rep had me type some numbers into the dialer but I guess the settings dont stay after a flash.
bump to the top
No one knows how to change this at all?
Search for EPST

Thanks, Ive found alot of info but none of it helps me. I installed EPST 2.1 and it still doenst respond to ##778# or ##775#. I can get to the phone info settings where the SMSC can be changed and it shows my incorrect phone number on that screen but wont allow me to change it.

First do a nan backup then flash a sense Rom, this is The only way the above codes will work, I think. I think you can change it in *#*3282#*#
You will need the msl number to edit it. Just call and ask sprint for it (I think its called msl)

There's also an app in the Market for MSL.

Phone switch problem

When asked by customer service to enter the ## insert number here # code to bring up the menu when trying to swap phones on an account the Shift only brings up contacts. This wasn't a problem until the phone was rooted. If anyone can shed light onto as why this would be happening this would be appreciated.

I bet an AOSP one. Those dialer codes only work in roms with Sense framework. And if I'm not mistaken, not Sense ports either. At least not all of them.

What if you install the epst.apk? Someone did this and said it works

Pandora Not working on Sprint Network issue

It seems like I can not stream on Pandora through my sprint network connection, even while in 4g areas. I can stream if I switch over to wifi, but not through my providers network. It only seems to happen on Pandora as I can use Tune In app with no problems. Does anyone else have these issues? It actually was working Monday and Tuesday, but It hasn't worked since......
I had to get rid of the proxy servers to get Pandora and Blacker working. I am on my phone or I would find the thread and link it but search for Sprint Pandora streaming fix and the steps are listed.
This only works on a sense rom, but download msl reader from the market and get your msl. Then in the dialer enter ##3282# and click edit mode. Enter your msl when it prompts you.
When the menu comes up, click a advanced. Scroll to the bottom and change the one that says 8085 to 0. Then change the one that says pd.vog.sprintpcs.com to 0.0.0.0

increase nexus s 3g with evo hack EDIT MSL WORKS

Get your mal code cal sprint dial *#*#3282#*#* for nexus s only
Edit enter..code go to other multimedia and change proxy addresses to 0.0.0.0
Change all ports to "0"
Exit out try 3g worked on my.evo and my.nexus s 4g
Get msl by calling sprint..kindly say you need your msl code to reset your antenna keys have your dec ready found under battery
If you're rooted you can do this with AdFree Android as well.
What does "Get your mal code cal sprint" mean?

It's kind of like a password to your phone that sprint uses (not the best analogy, I know). You can use the sprint web chat to ask for it (and its msl code, his keyboard probably autocorrected it )

Yeah I work at sprint. I'm pretty sure the msl is just used to authenticate your phone in a shorter way (esn dec has like ten characters and the hex has less but it has letters). I use it to manually program phones to the network when it doesn't take over the air or if its just an older phone.I guess I would say its like a virtual Sim card.the network uses it to communicate with the phone

Ah. Apparently, it means "Get your MSL code. Call Sprint."
I certainly know what an MSL code is. There are easier ways to get it than to call Sprint.

I was able to find the MSL without calling or using the MSL app.
I did an alteration to the following instructions, and was able to retrieve it after a couple attempts.
http://androidforums.com/htc-hero-sprint/117401-guide-easy-way-get-msl-without-calling-sprint-using-cmda-workshop.html
I tweaked the instruction a little bit by presenting the msl input screen before returning to alogcat.
Instructions I used:
Fresh boot phone and await all apps/things (scripts, widgets, and misc) to load.
Launch alogcat
Clear out the log by pressing menu button and then select "clear"
Go to your dialer and enter ##DATA# or ##3282# which will bring up the DATA menu
Once the menu pops up just select "View" mode
At this point you will see a screen with 6 selections. Select "others".
Then select "work mode".
Attempt to input a random msl code. I used "000000". Of course it is incorrect. I then clicked cancel and then returned to the previous menu (work mode).
From here either press and hold the Home Key and select aLogcat if you ran it before, go to your tray and run Logcat.
After opening Logcat it will update, once it finishes press "Menu" and "Pause" the log.
Then scroll until you see a group of entries labeled "I/MSL_Checker" which should be green.
Locate the line that has "MSL result : " at the end of it (Or press Menu and Filter "MSL" )
And there you have it, your 6-digit MSL code without ever calling sprint or using a computer.

MSL (Master Subsidy Lock) code has nothing to do with activating a phone. MSL is a password that is needed to change settings in the EPST menu. These settings are password protected to protect an end user from changing settings that will cause the phone to not work correctly.

how do i get the changes to stick on the programming menu on my nexus s 4g? I know what to type

Any way to choose 2G only on the G2?

I don't have that option available on settings.
I have automatic 2G/3G/4G, automatic 2G/3G and 3G only.
Thanks.
Press *#*#4636#*#* in your dialer, go to phone information and change it from there if you can't change it in settings.

Tried that but I get a message saying this option/application is not available on this phone.
Is it because my G2 is carrier branded?
Would a unbranded stock rom fix this and let me change it?
Try this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=myc.phone.PhoneInfo It does the same thing as the code.
That?

How did you do that? How can I enable that option?
I guess it was deleted but still shows up for me since I already have it installed. The developer has 2 more versions, this one seems to be ad supported: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=tw.myc.android.PhoneInfoV2Ad
I guess this option might be available if I flash and try other custom roms or kdz from other regions.

I'm able to enter the menu now.
Where exactly is the option to enable 2G only?
There's a lot of options.
Have you tried using the intelli3g xposed module?

I found a way, but cell signal isn't great still.
I read that the antenna is located on the bottom right side of the phone and it's like the antennagate of the iPhone 4. I think they're right.
