Got my fire hd 8 2016 Os 5.3.1.1, now only the option within Amazon video to cast screen for amazon video's. In the 2015 models you can cast the screen. So the cast option is now missing from settings>display. So now the only time you can cast is if you watch an amazon video. Is there a way to put cast back into settings->display ?????

I know not all smart TVs have this option. Do I need to get a Samsung Smart TV? Right now I have a 55" 1080p samsung smart Tv but if I mirrorlink it the sides don't show because something from the QHD to 1080p conversion doesn't work right.
I have an old non smart TV (1920x1200) with an Amazon Firestick and Mirrorlink sees the firestick and I can mirrorlink through the firestick but it also doesn't show everything from my Tmobile Note 4 running Rapture ROM to the TV.
I'm looking for a TV or computer screen that will do a perfect mirrorlink from my note 4. I'd prefer a 4k that is known working with the note 4 as my next laptop will be 4k and I will use the tv/monitor as a 2nd monitor also.

Does the rom have the build.prop edit to make mirrorlink work? Its to disable hdcp im pretty sure you can add it yourself
I received my Shield TV to replace my Amazon Fire TV 4K a couple days ago and have been reading and reading about surround sound issues online. Nothing I found relates to the 2017 model running Android 7.
A lot of those who offered help were quick to jump to the cabling situation. HDMI, optical, connected to the TV, connected to home theatre amplifier. Well, I tried them all.
How it was set up with Amazon Fire TV:
AFT -> HDMI Switch -> TV -> Optical to amplifier
with this set up I'd get only DD, I think. I don't remember ever seeing DD+ or DTS even with Kodi passthrough. I'd get 5.1 from both Netflix and Amazon Prime.
How I first tried with Nvdia Shield:
Shield -> HDMI Switch -> TV -> Optical to amplifier
like this I didn't get DD through Amazon nor Netflix. Worked on Kodi.
Then I tried:
Shield -> TV -> Optical to amplifier
still no 5.1 from Netflix or Amazon. At least DD reached the amplifer. Not sure about DTS.
What is like now:
Shield -> Amplifier -> TV
still no 5.1 from Netflix or Amazon. I get DD, DD+, DTS through Kodi.
Then I decided to try:
Amazon Fire TV -> Amplifier -> TV
Bang! I get 5.1 from BOTH Amazon AND Netflix. As well as DD/DTS from Kodi.
Why? How? What is going on!? Shall I get different APKs for both Amazon and Netflix for the Shield? This has got to be a software issue! It doesn't make any sense.
Any help, suggestion welcome!

I have looked at a number of different web pages on this issue. On both of my Samsung phones which I use as tablets I am having a problem. The Fire tv stick is able to be recognized on the screen mirroring section of the setting on the Samsung. However, when I tap the screen to mirror the device with the fire tv stick, it just keeps on trying to connect. It works fine with my mirroring with my amazon tablet but not with the android phones.
Any suggestions are more than welcome, thanks

Questions/Issues:
Have downloaded DOFU from google play store. It plays and runs good on the Tablet. I can see live log in a watch live NBA (playoffs now). Trying to mirror or cast from the Fire HD 8 Tablet to my TV using Micro USB to HDMI. Cannot get VIZIO 650DBI-2 TV to mirror via HDMI the tablet. I have had 2 session with Vizio technicians 1. The Vizio will support HDMI connection from android apple and PC. This Vizio will to support casting unless it is physically connected to the TV and the tablet supports that device (Chromecast plug in or Fire stick not wanting to purchase other hardware just to run this tablet mirror to TV. Issue is somehow with the Tablet not being recognized by the TV. The HDMI input show no device detect no matter how many HDMI ports it connected to (HMDI ports all work TV and USBC work on the tablet).
I can use my apple I phone 13 pro and my Laptop to mirror to the same VIZIO TV using HDMI cable input. However I want to be able to cast the Tablet (DOFU sports) to my TV for a larger viewing screen mirror. Tried 5 different double blind tested cables so I know it is not the physical cable connection. Is there additional software I need to enable or do we need to DL something new specific for my current tablet to perform screen mirror of live viewing? Currently the tablet in is Fire toolbox format will not screen mirror any TV or even a monitors (tried my PC screen)

Try to use Scrcpy, Vysor or ApowerMirror to mirror your Fire tablet screen into your laptop or PC connected to the TV or monitor using HDMI or VGA cable.

i can Not Chromecast from Amazon Prime Video or Netflix to my TV. In Prime Video the Cast Symbol will Not Work, on Netflix i don't have a Cast Symbol.
Others Apps Like ARD or waipu.tv works fine with Chrome-Cast.
Does anyone has the Same Problem?
How to solve?
