Tnx but I have done factory reset several times and the problem still remains
Will high speed micro sd really helpful?
Of course if microsd card speed is low then it effects the device and processor need to do hard work to run everything smooth and lot of data of apps and games saved in microsd card.
Try a new battery.

Overall note 4 always heat a lot because 2k 1440p scrern so don't worry
Try deep black wallpaper this will help save battery and gpu.
Try greenery to hibernate apps
Disable apps you don't use
Root device and Uninstall bloatware apps
Don't ever use junk or ram cleaner apps like clean master
OR even battery saver apps this apps murder the processor..
Don't kill apps by swiping them from recents that you use more often so processor don't need to run wake them again
More your processor sleep the device will run smoothly and no heating.

I've done most of those solutions(except those need root)but they didn't make sense.
Before marshmellow I didn't have this problem and everythings were perfect but after the update...??
when did it start?
what part gets hot?
is there something specific you're doing when this happens?

The center and right part of back start to heating after several minutes all of the phone gets hot.
Mostly chatting or web surfing and some times gaming but the problem is ,it gets hot even listening music or other light works.
that could be very bad.
that's where all the power management and usb related chips are located.
it might require a new motherboard.
I was kinda hoping you had the same problem as me, which is heating just below the camera which is caused by "wifi scanning" going haywire(Wi-Fi toggles blinking on/off while Wi-Fi is off)

Go to settings/battery/details and make all apps to always save power
This will help in marshmallow for doze mode and make apps deep sleep while not using device and not let them run in background..

Hi, everybody. I'd like to share (and hope others do the same) my "issues" found in the new firmware.
At the moment, after one day testing, the only thing I've noticed is that, when battery level is under 8%, the settings option that shows the apps that drained the battery return a "force close" or app not responding message.
I'll post new results...
LED lights do not work when there is a message come
it's because automatic disable from the device, preventing more draining battery source

I've installed the Illuminatic app from Google Play and it works ok. The only "issue" remaining is that led light doesn't work on stamina mode...
After let the phone charging all night, I unplugged it and tried to run the battery info option and it worked perfectly showing the discharging graph and apps draining battery. I suppose it could be related with some problem with the battery statiscs cause I flashed the new firmware that morning. I'll take a look the next time that battery level was under 10%. I must say, as something really positive, that battery life seems to be increased since flashed the last firmware. I'll post results.
No issues found yet, except that the camera picture quality is still very poor...
The memory managment is very agressive. I have Lux installed and when browsing with crome lux gets closed permanently and sometimes the browser with 1 tab open.
Is there a way to modify the ram management? Multi tasking is unusable right now. My X10 had better memory managment.

There is an option under "Settings-Development settings" that let you manage the number of processes open at the same time. I don't know if changing something there you could achieve a less agressive memory management...

Some users said that setting the camera mode to "normal" (instead hdr and auto i+) it gives better results (in any case it makes you play with the scenes modes and the adjustments). After several tests you can check that it's a software problem, there are apps like ProCapture that gets a very good quality with the camera.

I'm not only having a problem with multitasking but it's starting to kill apps that are running, completely ridiculous. I'm trying to find something that helps but so far I've only tried installing Supercharger script and an App-Settings module for Xposed framework, but they didn't really help much.
Try adjusting the minfree values, I had mine set at 20/24/30 and the ram management was much better

I already adjusted them with the Supercharger script and some things do work better, but I'm having a problem with the keyboard constantly disappearing and not coming back for a few seconds, have any of you faced anything like that? It happens with default and third-party keyboards.
I have an issue since i have flash (with flashtool) the .245 firmware.
When the phone wake up, the wifi is blocked for about one minute. I see in the wifi icon that the upload is ok but not the download.
I have the phone for a couple of days now and I have flashed the Russian 245 firmware and I am noticing these problems:
- camera makes yellow pictures sometimes
- dark screen on wakeup button press - after another press it is ok
this is so far.

Hey guys.
there are several major problems with my device.
first of all, lets see what we have here.
Exynos powered SM-N900 note 3 device
About 2 months old
rooted with CF- Auto Root
4.4.2 N900XXUDNA6_N900SERDNA6_SER firmware
that was the situation of device when the first problem showed itself.
Whiel i was watching video from an sd card, suddenly ı realised even if the device is on charge, (wall type) the battery percentage was dropping. when ı saw that, ı stopped watching the video, put down the phone and went to sleep. (it was 15 % at that time)
after 8 hours of proper sleep, I took my phone and saw that it was just 60%.
then ı began searching for slow charging issues. tried exactly everything about it, no luck. ( 5 different brands of different cables, 3 different brands of wall chargers, 2 different original note 3 batteries. tried both for AC and USB charging.)
All of them gave me the same result of charging current of 300 mah.
then ı tried all the wipe options, (wipe from recovery, factory reset from the settings menu, flashing another firmware which is CAC-N900XXUDNA8-20140210150816. ) still no luck. and things started to get worse.
a pain in the ass lag showed up, I'cant even use the camera. its like it comes and goes, but most of the time its there.
slow charging still continues, sometimes it does not charge at all,(had to reset couple of times) and when it charges, it's always 300 Mah and shows in the battery section as USB all the time ( even if I'm charging with the wall charger) ( already tried cache wipe for this, didn't make any difference.)
When I plug it to the PC, it does not recognize the device as a usb device, nor Kies, but ODİN does. (thankfully).
got this really weird screen, and some other screens close to it. (the screen actually faded away like in the picture ı uploaded. waited for it to go out for 10-15 seconds when ı pushed the wake button, the screen came itself just like nothing else happened 10 seconds ago!)
those are my problems, and the device is rooted, there is no warranty issue, so that means I'm stuck. it's not my first android device, and i consider myself just above average android user, but my hands are tied for this. any kind of help would be greatly appreciated!!
Really? No one can answer that?

Yeah I tried that. It kind of shortens the time of charging, but still, there are also other problems and some way ı think all of them are connected. That can be a solution only for slow charging, but the other issues still there.

I'm afraid that is also not a solution, because i already performed a full wipe and flashed a clean firmware, which cleared all 3rd party apps, still problems go on.
appreciate the effort though!

are you suggesting EFS back-up /restore?
By the way, i have fresh brand new issues!!
now device doesn't close, if i close it and connect it to a charger, it reboots itself to recovery mode!!!
ı discovered something about the lag issue. if i run the cpu enough, (like playing games) lag goes out. when ı quit the game, it turns back!!
I opened up cpu monitor from the developer options, everytime lag shows up, i see from the cpu list this thing:
irq/563-sii8240
I think this causes all of my problems.
any ideas???

Have you installed any apps to monitor battery drain? I use GSAM Battery Monitor and every time I start to see weird things with my battery, I have a look to see which app is running wild. Removing the app usually sets my phone back to very good battery life. The other day HD Widgets updated their app and all of a sudden I was dropping battery life about 15% per hour when hardly using the phone. HD was the culprit, removing it put me back to normal again. This happens often when companies update their apps.
One other thing, does you phone run hot? In the notification screen, you can see the current temp of your phone. If your battery is draining fast, it will run hot.
Thank you for the feedback. I downloaded the app, here are my first results. Do you think its normal that my kernel alone 74% ? I recently turned into cvm recovery, any ideas for alternative kernels?

I have a SM N900 Exynos running android 4.4.2 factory non rooted device.
I have bought it from an authorised samsung dealer not even 3 months ago.
I have noticed the phone freezing under load, like i had 4 downloads open on UC browser each of 200mb and was listening to songs via earphones on the native music player also had musixmatch open. At this stage my phone became very hard to control kept on lagging to a great extent till the point i pulled down the notification bar and system ui stopped responding and screen went off and only the capacitive keys were lighting upon touch, no haptic feedback. I had to restart my phone.
I have noticed this a lot whenever i have a lot of things going on, well this is an octacore device with 3gb ram. This shouldnt happen ever. It should be responsive all the time.
Also if i open a few number of apps and press the home button to go back to the main screen, the phone starts lagging. Shouldnt the memory management be good like the phone closes the unused applications by itself whenever ram is low instead of me going to recent apps and clearing some of them to regain performance.
Anyways i have some 128 apps in appdrawer including the system apps if thats any help.
Thanks in advance any help would be greatly appreciated.

The device comes with 3GB of RAM not all available to the user. First of all you have an Exynos device so you have 2.7gb RAM. I believe that they opted for a bigger RAM choice for the system to handle itself excluding user input.
So essentially you have half of the RAM to use for your other applications (1.35gb).
Anyways, have you tried clearing tasks in Task Manager? Stopped junk apps from wasting start up memory? If you have, then you really should reflash stock or Factory wipe, in order to see which apps you reinstall to prevent unnecessary slowdowns.
Are you using power saving mode while multitasking?? if yes then turn it off and try again, another tip is that phone are like mini laptops without fans they need to rest from time to time, so try to restart the phone or shut it off for few min, then test again, good luck.

I have over 650 applications installed (including system) and have no problem with lag, I even have Hyper fluency enabled on my launcher which makes it use double the amount of recommended RAM to make it look and feel better. No lag.

My phone runs good without lag, but after opening a good number of apps it slows down. Then i have to manually open multitasking(holding the home button) and swipe away a few apps. Shouldnt the phone automatically exit some apps when running low on ram?
Well as far as i know no one exits apps after using them, after they are done using a app nearly everyone uses the home button instead of exiting the app.
And no, no powersaving mode is enabled.

Just last month, a friend of mine had a problem similar to this: the phone responds to button press but there is specific period of time that the screen won’t respond. We ended up replacing the digitizer. It is a piece of glass on top of the display panel that conducts touch commands. Digitizers come with their respective circuits that when messed up, some, if not all, screen functions won’t work. But it seems that your problem is not the digitizer, so try booting to Safe Mode and observe the phone’s performance while in there.
If the screen still freezes randomly, some of the core functions may be causing the problem and there’s no other option but to perform factory reset but first, back up all your data.

Since i bought the phone in around 4 months the phone has frozen under extreme load only twice. Would you still recommend a a factory reset?
I observed that if a lot of apps are running in the background and phone starts lagging, I just swipe away a few apps from the multitasking area and everything works fine thereafter.

Having Lag & Heat Issues???
Is anyone having lag issue or any heat issues? I guess I have one of the problem notes as mine has extreme lag and heat problems. I have cleared all caches and have also factory reset several times. What's weird is that the lag will come and go, but it's there more often than not. Even scrolling in settings has the jitters.
Any ideas anyone. I might be better off going through the miserable process of exchanging through the mail.
Thanks in advance for any help!
You'll have to boot to safe mode to see if the issue persists. Also, make sure power saving mode isn't on (I've left it on before).

welcome to samsung
I have none of these problems and i am a heavy user
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N930A using XDA-Developers mobile app
My guess is it has to do with one or multiple of the apps you have installed. There is a 3 step process to fix this issue.
#1 - See if any of the apps you have installed are running rouge. Check, battery usage, RAM usage, and Data Usage to see if you have any bad apps. Uninstall any 3rd party apps that you installed that are running too much. They may just still need updated to be optimized for this new device. Also you can use the "sleep" (doze) feature in battery management to restrict apps that are running TOO much in the background. Also on any apps that are using too much data or RAM check the permissions. If an app does not need access to Data, Media etc to work properly turn off those permissions.
#2 Debloat the device. I like "Package Disabler Pro". Basically if it has Facebook, FB, or ATT in the name you should disable it. Also you can go through an disable any Samsung software you do not use as well. I would be careful about using the "disable all bloatware" button because it is not setup correctly for this new device yet.
#3 Give it some time. It you have a TON of media on a micro EXSD card then it can take a new phone a long time to index and create thumbnails for all of that information. It should speed up i about a day or so once it finishes indexing. this will also effect your battery life till it is completed.

Yeah it will break Samsung Pay though... I think it's related to the UIBCVirtualSiftkey app, but have not confirmed that. Also it does not get nearly all of the bloatware. There is a ton of new AT&T junk it does not disable as well as a bunch of new Facebook crap and Samsung crap.

Definitely. It gave me the perfect opportunity to try out the scroll capture. Let me know if you have any questions. This is what I have disabled so far without any issues. Once I get a full completed list I'll probably do a write up about how to clean up the dock ROM. I think I'm about 70% done with the list.
So far I'm getting about 6.5 hrs of SOT and about 28 his of usage.

I am not positive but I think it's the UIBCVirtualSoftkey if the doesn't fix it. Just enable all of the stuff you disabled and reboot. Then only disable what's on my list. I can confirm is working with my setup.
I'm exchanging mine tomorrow and was hoping for better news but from your experience it sounds like I may have to deal with an expensive piece of crap.

I used this app and it's worked wonders.

This phone lags a lot especially in Chrome and other scrolling apps.. sometimes switching between apps takes lot of time too...I have been using Samsung phones for quite sometime, but unfortunately this is the phone lagging more than any other phone for me..debloated almost 150 apps, still the same..and it gets hot as well when watching videos...none of this happened for me on Note 5...I think Samsung screwed with Note7 software..when they initially released Grace UX software for Note 5, it was very smooth...but the final Note7 software seems to be laggy...the same apps and setup on Note5 doesn't give me these issues....gonna return and try my luck with new one...but good thing is battery life has been very good for me...easily 5hrs SOT whereas on Note5, I used to get only 3.5 hrs

I am exactly facing this issue..I am a heavy XDA user, so I monitor all the apps on phone and debloated lot (around 150) apps...still the same.. thing is lag doesn't happen all the times..but it starts from no where..but the phone consistently gets hot while moderate usage

When the phone is working properly, bloatware should make no noticeable difference and debloating is unnecessary.
My Note 7 usually responds instantly, with no lag, no matter how heavily I'm using it. That's with nothing disabled or debloated. (I'm using the Google Now launcher but everything else is stock/default, with no esoteric apps or settings.)
However, on three occasions in the week I've had the phone, it's gotten into a mode with serious lag while typing. In this mode, even though the characters I type still show up on the screen instantly, I can type 3 or 4 characters with no sound feedback or vibration feedback; then, there will be 3 or 4 delayed clicks and vibrations in rapid succession.
When this serious-lag mode starts, it continues even if I close all apps and put the phone in Airplane mode. It also makes no difference if I turn on power-saving mode, or even maximum power-saving. The only thing I've found that fixes it (for a while) is rebooting.
The intermittent occurrence of the serious-lag problem shows that it's not a matter of the phone being underpowered or overloaded. There's some specific bug that needs to be fixed.
UPDATE: It just happened for a fourth time. And when the serious-lag mode starts, it's not just typing that has a delay with audio feedback. The feedback delay also occurs when I tap on icons, tap on the Back or Recent-apps soft-buttons, etc. There's a delay of up to a second or two between tapping and hearing the feedback.
On the other hand, compute-intensive tasks--such as playing streaming video--work properly even when the phone is in serious-lag mode. So that's further evidence that there is some specific bug, and not a general problem of being underpowered or overloaded.

Curious, do these typing lags occur on the hangouts app?!?! It seems to be the ONLY app on my Note 5 (and all the other phones I've used) that has a VERY NOTICEABLE KEYBOARD LAG, especially with Samsung Stock keyboard. This happens even with other keyboards, but is WORST with samsung keyboard.....

No, the problem I'm seeing is unrelated to any app or keyboard. When my phone is in serious-lag mode, the problem occurs across the board. When it's not in lag-mode (which it usually isn't), then there's no lag in any app, including Hangouts.

Hmmm.....interesting....I use the app os monitor to show which processes are running at high cpu %. Perhaps that can shed some light on your lag issue?

It happens even with all apps closed, no heat, no battery drain. It's not a side-effect of the phone being bogged down with anything.
Hello
After i updated to oreo i did a factory reset then i installed all my apps .I wanted to use the conserve memory in smart doctor (smart doctor->tap memory->tap three dots->conserve memory). This saved a lot of ram and battery. What can i do?
Oreo does already a preaty good job managing the memory. No need for that setting (even in Nougat there is no real reason).
You can use greenify for that, or even Servicely - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.franco.servicely

Idk why but It got significantly slower since the update. The big problem is that is slower in the ui.Before the update hearthstone was lagging a lot but now everything with this phone is lagging.I honestly don't know what to do.Maybe the phone is faulty?
Check you backgroud apps... Maybe is one there that is using more resources.
Interesting... as far as I know on Nougat, disabling some crucial system apps (or even using adb to uninstall them without root) was causing this option to disappear. Yesterday I started disabling some bloatware on my Oreo H870 and I was like "hey, does this option already disappeared?" and yes... it was gone... so I proceed to disable more stuff
But you say that it's gone anyway... As DJPRMF mentioned - Oreo does really good job with memory management. You can also disable background activity for some apps so it's better than on Nougat in my opinion.

Idk but i think that is something wrong with my unit.I mean after the update and factory reset i started to witness freezing and stuttering and not in games because i even deleted them (hearthstone is just so laggy on my phone idk why) my phone froze in the home screen and in youtube. When i checked to see if there is a misbehaving app in the battery usage setting there was nothing everything was normal. I honestly don't know what to do.I can't send it on warranty right now because i need the phone. Any advice?

It's really hard to tell what's the real cause. I also have problems on Oreo but they're not that annoying (practically only related to battery life but NOT standby time which is perfect now). About the stuttering - I also can't say anything, I have absolutely no games installed on my phone.
Try enabling Developer Options (tapping build number 7 times on About Phone) and there is an option to see running services / active services (idk how it's named in English) which is old-style Android task "manager" where you can see RAM usage for currently running and cached-in-memory apps. Maybe you'll find something there?

I looked in that setting but all was normal.I just saw the apps like google and twitter, facebook and mostly things i know i use. The thing is that when i was scrolling to see the list of apps there the scrolling motion was just so laggy. I forgot to mention the battery life that dropped from 5-6 hours sot to barely 4 hours and it's not that i have stopped using it. Idk why this phone is behaving like this.I don't even have it for a full year(just 7 months).I honestly don't know what to do.I have a friend who owns a honor 7 lite and it runs hearthstone perfectly my g6 just lags in it.
