Hello
All launchers I've seen are tied to bigger or smaller grid.
Is it technically possible to create launcher which:
- allows to position widget freely (no grid)
- allows for widget overlapping
- allows for freeform widgets (not square only)
- allows widgets to animate itself (like animated wallpapers we already have)
For example imagine battery widget in form of water dropping out of container and splashing on clock widget.

Where can i find the apk for this widget?
i've asked previously how to remove the text from 1x1 or 2x1 widgets (make them icon like).
I made a replica of LG G3's Weather Widget in Zooper Widget Pro with some elements changed to achieve more Cleaner look.
Here are some details on the widget:
Tapping on Temperature updates your Location and Temperature.
Tapping on Clock opens your Clock app.
Tapping on the Recorder icon next to WeatherAdvice starts Voice Search.
Tapping on the top right settings icon opens Settings app.
Recommended Settings:
Desktop Grid - 6 Rows and 5 colums
Widget Size - 2 Rows and 5 Columns
Show Shadow on Homescreen
Thats it!

Instructions
Change the onTap Function of the Apps and App drawers

• For App Drawers, select Nova Actions or Apex Actions
Resize Widgets Properely
• Select the Empty Zooper Widget of your Choice (smallest one recommended i.e. 1x1)

Just a simple way to reproduce the stock weather clock widget in another launcher
including the click action to go in the new stock accuweather app
I tested in NOVA and it works
Basically you need
1) XWidget (download the theme s6)
2) desktop visualizer
3) an image viewer able to create a transparent icon
The procedure is simple
A) Create a transparent icon and save it (the size does not matter)
B) using xwidget create the widget reproducing the stock one (for example size 4x2)
C) create another widget (same size 4x2 again) using desktop visualizer selecting as icon the transparent and as action (using the option others) the shortcut connecting as NOVA stock weather activity
I suggest to have no label, touch effect as NONE and vibration selected as SYSTEM
D) in nova settings----> desktop---> advanced select to permit the overlap
E) overlap the second widget to the first and set bring to front
in this way you will have the widget looking as the stock (thanks to xwidget) and behaving as the stock (thanks to desktop visualizer)
Thanks. I did something very similar with apex launcher. How did you get to the stock S6 accuweather app from Desktop VisualizeR? Was it an option to select when you built the transparent widget overlay?

You create a desktop visualizer widget
As icon you select the transparent
As action you select 'others'
then (in Nova but I believe there is a similar option also in Apex) 'activities'
then you look for the activities related to 'weather' ... the first is the good one
Leave the label field empty
Transparent background
None as touch effect
System as Vibration
Then press OK
Finally overlap the desktop visualizer widget to the xwidget and resize it properly
