What if Moto again start a new N6 with FP Scanner As 6X ? which one do you buy ?
Pixel
Pixel XL
Nexus 6x
Nexus 6p
Nexus 5x
Nexus 5

Damn I was hoping someone found a mod and finally posted a how to. Lol. If it was a real "Certified by google" Nexus 6x then I'd go with that. But I'd expect the specs:
6" screen
4 to 6gb ram
64,124,248gb rom options
New and improved Sony sensor maybe 16mp or 23?
1440p AMOLED with higher PPI then the last version
USB C 3.1
Snapdragon 821
Fully supported notification LED and many other fixes that should be a no trainer by them but aren't.
That's my basic gist of a solid 6x by Lenovo/Motorola I would buy it in a heartbeat because I legit am dying because no phone will ever be as good as the og Nexus 6. I'm going to get a OnePlus 3T and later on a pixel XL. But neither will ever be as good as my N6

Yikes that is all my N6 needs, I would buy one in a heartbeat.

Yeah, an FP and some 64bit CPU.
I'd also appreciate a 3D glassless screen and dual camera like in Evo 3D.
And bring back the Qi charger!
Nothing more...

I would buy the nexus x6 but I think the google line is dead.

No FP for me tyvm

Also I would request either a lithium ion battery or a sata battery instead of the crappy lithium polymer battery that way we don't have heating issues and so the back won't fall off. Also I'd want moto mods so we can color the glass white or black, pick any color for the frame/midbody, and any color/material for the back plate. That would be awesome. I'd really like the fingerprint reader in the power button on the side like Sony's because I have big hands and that's my natural area, I'd like metal buttons this time too. And maybe touch/hardware buttons and not software so we have the full 6".

Yeah, I know.
I mean, hey, Google, just drop those Pixels and 6P/5X nonsense and bring Qi back.
No Qi = no more Nexus/Pixel/Google phone for me. Nexus 6 is my last one for now.
Or just develop another good Wi-charge system.

Oh the pixel and Nexus 6p don't have it because they have aluminum body's. You can go get a Qi pad to stick to your device under the case. Thats what ill do I prefer metal unibody design for its strength and that means giving up Qi but we can get it back thanks to smart internet people haha

I bought a 5X for my fem and forgot to check if they implemented Qi. They didn't.
I added the Qi - USB-C patch and it worked more or less hidden inside the protective case of rubber&plastic.
But what if I need both Qi and USB-C available (for development or so)?
Much better to have both the Qi and the connection port for external backup or movie watching.

There are Qi patches with USB c pass through just look around on Amazon.

OK ,We are 14 now , lets get to Lenova and submit the request for 6X

I'd like to update the CPU/GPU as Qualcomm has officially announced the Snapdragon 835 haha

If the sells for the Pixel don't "jive" what with google expects, I could see the Nexus line come back in 2 years.

Hi guys,
Count me in I wish I could add a fingerprint reader to my Nexus 6. Also a nice addition would be a 20mp sony camera, an Iris sensor, an IR blaster and to top it off I would like a glass back cover!
Love,
Syed

I'm sorry, I don't think I agree with you there. That would be too much like a Galaxy Note...

I feel like the Moto X Pure is as close as we would get to an updated Nexus 6. I am really hoping the Moto X Pure 2017 carries the same body style as its 2015 predecessor, but everything we have seen thus far seems to indicate that it will be aluminum without front facing speakers.
I do wish that Motorola would produce some kind of Moto X Pure / Nexus 6 phone today with improved internals and a fingerprint sensor where the Moto M dimple is. Keep the front the same, dual front speakers are a must. Upgrade the internals to today's specs, and I would finally be ready to upgrade my N6. Until then, I will continue to be happy with my phone, sluggish as it is starting to get.

Moto can't do anything anymore as it's only a name on a phone , sadly Motorola as we knew it is dead.

I'm just confused why they kept the 801, and not the 805. I love the PS4 remote play and would love to see a port of that.

I'm thinking wonderful, but it's sad that I have to buy another device so quickly so I can get Band 12 support. I happen to love my G3, particularly the rear buttons, but a waterproof device has some appeal too, and I hear Sony has a KnockOn knock-off....yes that sounds weird.
I suppose I should still be able to get a lot for my G3 if I do sell it, and there's an XPosed module to make the Sony 5x5 like LG does. Still, side buttons seem so....primitive.

Is it true Sony stopped using the Anti Shatter Films? I have the Z1s, I heard with the Z2 and onward they stopped using them.
If so, how does the dragon tail glass hold up? As good (or better) than Gorilla Glass?

I love How Sony fans are not as demanding as Samsung fans, Z3 is a q1 2014 device yet no one is complaining. On the note 4 forums, Samsung is doomed because they're using latest and fastest soc with best gpu. Go figure

probably because only 13 people in the US can actually get one.. if/when xperia come back to more than 1 US carrier then the device will likely get more scrutiny.. Americans tend to be more vocal and cautious when it comes to spending a fortune on gadgets when there isn't much change from previous iterations to justify buying another device.

My z2 is my first sony android, i had samsungs previously........ z3 doesn't seem different enough from my z2 to warrant even consider buying, especially as im only 5 or 6 months into a 2 year contract. Only thing that interests me on z3 is ps4 remote play but at that price id be better off buying another ps4 for the other room lol

The Note 4 isn't faster because of the 2k display.
In fact, the Z3 will be faster due to better software.
I'm interested in this, more so than I ever was for the Z2.
Sony is doing it right - by not jumping on the QHD bandwagon, they avoid having the problems of a QHD display while still retaining enough screen sharpness to look almost as good as QHD. Anybody who says that they can spot an immediate difference between 1440p and 1080p on a 5"~ screen is lying, or doesn't know what they're talking about.
Other points of interest:
LCD panel, not crappy AMOLED
3100mah battery - huge for a device of this size
32gb memory option with micro SD support up to 128gb - 32gb is enough for everyday use in case you don't like micro SD cards, or your micro SD card fails on you (like mine did a few weeks ago)
waterproof / dustproof
beautiful design
The only real con I can think of is the micro usb flap - with repeated use, it is possible that flap might fall off. I had such a flap on my Samsung GS4 Active, and it gave up the ghost about a week ago - snapping off in my fingers as I removed it. Fortunately there might be a solution where you can buy a USB charging/data cable with a magnetic attachment, to attach to the Xperia's dock charging pins...

Good point. Probably that would be easier to use with a case as well. Most cases will probably block the flap from opening.

Yeah, a magnetic charging cable such as this one has several advantages over a regular micro usb cable. For one, it attaches magnetically so you don't have to fiddle with the cable, and it can attach even when you're driving and need to charge your phone in the phone holder. It avoids repeated use of the plastic flap, so the flap will only have to be removed once in a blue moon to access the micro sd card.
If I get the opportunity to buy a Z3 32gb in Canada, and I know that there will be XDA support for it, then I would be greatly tempted to upgrade to it. The only thing holding me back is the knowledge that the new Nexus phone (whatever it is) will be announced soon-ish, and I would greatly prefer the latest and greatest stock Android over anything else.
I'd be going for the T-mobile model, with WiFi calling, Band 12, and hopefully it has VoLTE as well. Particularly with the WiFi calling, one just has to accept being stuck with the OEM ROM.

we shall see, but so far the rumors don't seem to be holding any water.. and unlike t-mobile, sprint has not posted any thing on their website news regarding it.. yet they quickly posted about how they are getting the note 4 / edge. IMO if they were getting the Z3 they would be as quick as tmobile to post news bragging about it because it would be huge news considering they never really carried a sony phone before.

Clearly I don't think very highly of Sprint, then again, they seem to be more concerned with Huawei and ZTE anyway.

I'm concerned about the 32gb coupled with no sd slot. They're putting 4k video recording capability on there (great!) but it seems limited without adequate storage capacity. Not a big fan of cap buttons. I'm also unsure about the difference a quad hd display makes on a 5.2" screen and more importantly if it's worth the tradeoff in battery life.
Other than those things I'm loving this phone. I'm a big moto fan and can't wait to see it in stores.
it is sad that its not going to have ext sd. i wasted my money on a 64gb extreme SD. Well ill just put it in my nexus 9. Really hope the turbo goes to 64gb internal though. Specs sound awesome i just wish it had a K1 64 bit in there, im sure android 5.0 and the 805soc will be extremely fluid, i just dont want to get it then a month later here that devs are really unleashing the potential of 64bit socs. Most importantly for me is the long battery life and awesome camera. 21 mp sounds nice so hopefully it will take some amazing photos and be quick. OIS better be there too. My GS4 takes awesome photos in HDR i just wish it was snappier. Love the fact they went with 5.2 qhd, perfect moto! If they want this thing to sell out then they need at least a 5mp front facing and an awesome price point. Most importantly, dont you dare put all that bloat in there!
Do you know the status of 5.0? That is my determining factor.

why would 5.0 be the determining factor??? Even if the phone ships with 4.4.4 it will probably be the first device (maybe second to the Moto X) that will receive the update....
im holding out hope that it ships with 5.0...but i would imagine it would only be maybe a month or so before it is updated...it will be updated before any non-Moto devices get 5.0...

the 2013 Moto Droids were basically the first phones on 4.4...the Droids run as close to stock android as you can get without being stock they get updated crazy fast...
It has an ips display? Are you sure? The active display is pointless then. It would kill the battery.
Well, I couldn't be happier. I love the Nexus 6 specs, but i just don't want a phablet. So i was back to the same problem...M8, Moto X+1, z3v. But...they each are missing something i really wanted. I got my Galaxy Nexus 3 years ago...and when I got that I kept thinking the next phone would FINALLY be the phone, the one I've been waiting for. But, until now, nothing's come along. I'm FINALLY happy to pay full retail price to keep my unlimited data and get a sweet phone.
Downsides? I do wish it was IP67/8 rated, had the expandable memory, and a customizable back, but those are far from deal breakers. Now, i just want the price, release data, and if there'll be a play store version (I'm assuming highly unlikely...has there ever been a Droid in the Play Store?)
Not a play version, but there have been Dev. editions with unlockable bootloaders.

The waterproof coating they use (assuming its the same as the 2013 moto x) is really good. Other than having to wait for your speaker to dry out to sound normal you could basically dunk it under water without concern. I didn't do it...but other people did

I'm wondering this as well. What sources state that it will have an ips display?
The nexus 6 seems to have amoled, so it really only makes sense for Motorola to continue the trend and support their active display.
The only reason I wouldn't get this instead of the Nexus 6 is because I just can't have a locked bootloader and root that is virtually impossible to crack until it's too late ie. the Droid Ultra/Maxx and all devs have moved on to more developer friendly phones
If I'm right...don't they usually release/announce the Developer Verizon months later? Cause unless it'll be within a month of the initial release, I can't keep dealing with my GNex. I've run every ROM out there... and this thing needs to be euthanized

I've got the ME572C in black, and I must say it feels really like a high end device (both in hardware specs and build quality), for 200€ only ! I rooted the device using the RootZenFone-1.4.6.8r apk (seemed legit as far as I could tell), and I'm in the process of getting rid of the bloatware.
No custom recovery, ROM, or anything actually available for the moment for my precious device, but root is there and that's the very least I need go keep this tab !
One thing to note though, I've got a little backlight bleeding on the top of the screen in portrait mode (like 2 cm wide), but I can only see it during boot. I've watched like 6+ hours of movies with it and it wasn't visible at all. Just wanted to warn about it.
Any chance we've got people working on this fabulous device ? Incredible specs for incredibly low price, I don't get why people aren't already all over it.
Got one ME572C black from BestBuy for $150 a couple of days back. Rooted it and it is working great at this point.
Researched quite a bit and decided on this. Got it Christmas, love it so far. Great budget tablet.
I'm running a new ME572C as well and loving it. Rooted with same APK and now need to clean some of the Asus crapware off of it next..

I got one for Christmas as well and love it. It seems to me that this is what would have been the Nexus 7 2014 if Google had decided to release it.
I have tried to locate the root method you have used, but have been unable to locate it. Would you mind sharing a link?

Thanks, worked like a charm!
Has anyone switched from dalvic to ART?
Does it have an option to switch? Or are you talking about more of a hack? I hadn't even looked into it..
Sent from my K007 using Tapatalk
After asking the question I looked in developer options and it looks like Asus removed it. On my two phones the option is still there and I have switched to ART, I like how it performs.
Did a *lot* of research prior to buying the ME572C - and was thrilled that Best Buy had it. Picked up one for my wife and then myself as well. We're loving it!
My understanding is that the new Intel processor has ART built in, thus no need for the Dalvik - it's using ART by default.

Awesome to know about the Intel chip and ART, if/when this gets the lollipop update it will be interesting to see how the 64 bit CPU runs with a 64 bit OS.
Well, I got this for Christmas, and while I like the tablet, I'm a little disappointed with a silly thing: I think the bezels are just huge.... I know, it's a minor thing, but I'm kinda put off by it. My old Nexus 7 used the whole face, and this is just kinda.... like half an inch all the way around.

I guess that we all have our preferences. I can understand what you're saying, but I kinda place a higher value on the amount of real estate of the screen.
I got this little boy and so far I am satisfied.
A hint: screen protector works with Nexus 7 2013 will work with ME572 for sure (exactly same size and cutouts). Moreover, some book style Nexus 7 2013 case will fit, but make sure you look up the four corners and bottom cutout for USB.
Can someone with a me572 please test clash of clans and tell me how it performs? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.supercell.clashofclans
It's a simple game with apparently simple graphics, but my ME176C has considerable lag on it. It's not unplayable, it's just very choppy.
I bought this tablet specifically for this game, so I thought that any budget device will do fine, but so far I'm wiling to send it back and get the more performant me572. I have a suspicion that the game is not properly optimized for Intel chipsets and I need to make sure that it can handle the game well.
I would appreciate if someone would test the game and tell me how it runs, but I would also prefer to hear from people that have a secondary powerful device they can compare with.
I, for example, have a note 3 and there's a huge difference.
I use Clash of Clans all the time on mine and it works great. In fact I was just setting some troops to train on it before I saw your post. Performance is awesome..
Edit: To be clear, I'm on a ME572C..

That's great! Do you also happen to have a smartphone to make a comparison between the two?

Cancelled My PreOrder: Here's Why

1. I have a Nexus 6P and I think its not worth the upgrade
2. The price - at 1000 dollars this thing will set you back a hefty penny
3. No OIS. The phone doesnt have OIS, but it has EIS which uses software to stabilize the image
4. No front facing speakers
5. Not water resistant. if they are competing with Apple, why would they leave this out?
6. Same battery size as my nexus 6p
7. Since its a pixel phone it might be locked down like an IPhone (not confirmed but there is a chance)
8. 4GB RAM. Most phones nowadays have 4GB of RAM
9. No official updates after 2 years. This was one of the things that turned me off as well. They released this phone as a competition to Apple yet they will support their phones for less years.
10. The bezel. Its big, with nothing useful on it
11. 5.5 inch screen. Even the nexus 6p has a 5.7 inch screen.
12. Mono speakers
13. Pixel Launcher is not really that good. I'm sure most people will go back to google launcher because it's more customizable
I am sure there are more stuff to list. but these are what convinced me to cancel my pre order.
I guess ill just keep my 6P and see what happens next year.
This was all known in advance of the pre-order page going live. Why did you even bother ordering in the first place?
It was all just an illusion
Same. I find it hilarious how they position it at iPhone pricing, and then leave out features that the iPhone has like water resistance and official updates for years
I'm about to cancel mine too...
Compare with the Axon 7!
-Better camera
-Dual front speakers
-No bezel
-Half the price

The BMW-designed Axon 7 ($400) even has the SAME 5.5" 1440p AMOLED Samsung display the Pixel XL uses.
And has award-winning audio capability with front facing speakers.
And REAL rear camera OIS.
It's also Daydream VR capable... (just like the Pixel XL)
Plus, it's slightly smaller phone (slimmer bezels!)
Google should have bought like 1 million ZTE Axon 7 phones for $400 each, slapped their Nougat software on, sold them as the "Pixel XL" for $500! It would STILL be $300 - $400 cheaper than the real pathetic Pixel XL and be a much better phone! I would buy 3 of those right now.

just get a nexus 6p for half the price
Not pre-ordering and will never order - there is very little to like about this phone.
I've had all the Nexus phones with exception of the S starting with the One up until and including the 6 (which I'm still happily using) .
For me, Google is not going in the right direction. I'd take the Axon over this junk, although I think I'd rather have a 6" screen, so will consider the Mate 8 or the 9. Or maybe just hold on to the 6 for while longer.
That's what I'm doing I'm getting the 6p its a better phone that pixel xl ...
Or the axon 7 ? Wow it looks great ?

id get the nexus, if you want timely updates
So what are they going to do, just not give an update to the Pixel? Does that mean that Nougat is going to stop having updates?
No change regards updates.
Somewhat disappointing given the fact they are trying to sell this phone on a strong software slant.

Except who knows when the Axon is going to receive Nougat, and when O is released what are the chances ZTE is going to push an update. Even without OIS the camera is still going to be a lot better on the Pixel as well.
IMO it's really annoying that Google isn't supporting Pixel phones for at least 3 years with OS updates. For that price point it should be AT LEAST 3 years and 4 years of security updates. Hell, inexpensive ChromeOS devices are supported for 5 years.
It's getting really hard to recommend an Android phone to a family member or friend. Especially when VZW is the only carrier who is selling the Pixel.

3. No OIS. The phone doesnt have OIS, but it has EIS which uses software to stabilize the image - Still has the best camera on the market so does no OIS really matter?
4. No front facing speakers - Not something I've ever had or wanted. I've always listened to music via external speakers because they're better than ANY smartphone speakers, front facing or not
5. Not water resistant. if they are competing with Apple, why would they leave this out? - Never needed this either. Also there is evidence to suggest that making phones water resistant with tight compartments is lending to phones blowing up recently
6. Same battery size as my nexus 6p - But SD810 is way way way less battery efficient
7. Since its a pixel phone it might be locked down like an IPhone (not confirmed but there is a chance) - I ordered from VZW, so yah mine will 100% be locked down. Why don't I care? The last time I rooted a phone was the Galaxy S6, I think. You guys still do that? Why?
8. 4GB RAM. Most phones nowadays have 4GB of RAM - Plenty for a stock Android device
9. No official updates after 2 years. This was one of the things that turned me off as well. They released this phone as a competition to Apple yet they will support their phones for less years. - In 1 year I will be on to a new device. My upgrade pattern has typically been 6mon...
10. The bezel. Its big, with nothing useful on it - Keeps you from accidentally pressing things on the sides ala S7 Edge/Note7 and the chin allows better balancing and holding of the device for taking photos
11. 5.5 inch screen. Even the nexus 6p has a 5.7 inch screen. - I'm good with 5.5" in it's current footprint, see above comment

I'd like to hear more of your thoughts...
I get that people like different things for different reasons but to me it's as good a buy as any other phone on the market that was intended for the US. Since my personal opinion is that the Note7 is crap, I was actually seriously considering getting an iPhone 7 Plus. I'm super super super glad that this phone was announced because I didn't really want an iPhone but was going to bite the bullet since it's next best thing imo.

What do you think of the new design?

Video is based on leaks

the quality probably wouldnt have been adequate and people would just complain. I wonder if Google will keep the plastic backing and just launch the phones at a price in the middle of pixel 3 and 3a. that would be sweet and you can still have wireless charging through plastic like the nexus 5

Meh, incremental update for the iPhone 11. I don't know about "killing it right now." Apple will always sell a lot of iPhones. I just want the Pixel lineup to have it's crap together and for Google to stop chasing Apple customers by blatantly copying iPhones.

If it's in fact true that the battery is the same or smaller than the pixel 3, I think Google has made it clear they don't want ME as a customer.
I love pixel but their battery performance is ****. I am loving my p30 pro but I want a smaller device, so I may just get an iPhone 11 pro if this turns out to be the case about the px4 batteries.

I average around 6-7h sot on my pixel 3 in a full day and 4-5h over 2 days.... problem with Google is there are certain settings/features that drain battery, if you turn them off the battery is great!
What settings are those?
I average 3-4hrs sot on my px3
this was on pie... but I'm getting similar results on 10 especially after all the apps started updating for compatibility for Android 10. it all depends on how u use your phone too. this was mainly on Reddit and chrome.
aod off
NFC off
Bluetooth/scanning off (big battery killer)
wifi scanning off (big battery killer)
adaptive battery off (I saw a big difference after I turned this off)
adaptive display off
lift to check off
double tap to check on
location on
keyboard sounds off
all vibrate off even fingerprint sensor
also calibrate your battery after 1gb+ Android updates this will reset the battery stats
Nice I had most of those disabled but some not. Hopefully I can get some good sot like you.
Of course I know all experiences are based on usage, I work in IT so I am pretty observant of these things. I'm also spoiled worry p30 pro - don't need to disable/worry about anything and I can get 7+ sot haha.

nice!
Some people are making a lot of judgements based on one prototype which is significantly gimped in firmware and software. As to the device I'm fine with it's design. I only use speaker for speakerphone and video chat, my phones always go in cases, I only get 3 or 4 hours with every phone because I like my toys and I'm not turning them off. I think the only thing that could kill it for me it's if it's ridiculously overpriced.
Does pixel 4 comes with the top bezel like the old pixel phones?

This is subjective of course. But design in Pixel 2, 3 and 3a is the best
Then it comes Pixel 1.
I don't even like the design of the 4.
But I liked the glossy back of the Just Black
Nothing of importance because I'll install a Spigen Thinfit the first day.
I think it's an ugly phone if I'm being honest.
I was looking forward to it but after seeing it, I think it's a pretty solid pass.

apple destroyed them this year. do you notice that Google alternates dropping the battery capacity each year for the regular and xl? probably to cut back somewhere. they should of kept the wide angle selfie scrapped Soli and face unlock and kept the rear fingerprint and add wide angle to the back with a bigger battery or at least the same for the regular. the pixel 3 might be the new nexus 5

If you look at DxOMark it's interesting that neither the Pixel nor iPhones are at the top of the ratings anymore (although they haven't reviewed the iPhone 11 yet, it seems). https://www.dxomark.com/category/smartphone-reviews/ It's Huawei, Samsung, and even OnePlus who are rating the highest. Maybe the days of Apple and Google being the cream of the crop are over. Although the Pixel 4 still tied for the best rating for video performance. And it scored very well, so the differences with the top phones may not be that important.

I still like the Pixel 1 the most. The feel of the chamfered edges on the all aluminum phone seems so much more high quality than the subsequent Pixel designs. I like the Pixel 2 second best. I really hate glass backs (going all the way back to the Nexus 4 and iPhone 4), so the Pixel 3 and 4 will always be inferior, design-wise, to me. Extra glass seems cheap and overly glitzy to me.
