Can't flash nor boot a custom recovery on my Nexus 4

Hello guys, i've been trying to install a custom recovery on my Nexus 4 but it has been unsuccessful all the time.
The problem is just that I can't get to boot into the custom recovery, When i flash or temporarily boot a custom recovery with fast boot (fastboot flash recovery.IMG or fastboot boot recovery.IMG) it goes without any errors, but the problem comes when its time boot into the recovery, it just stays frozen at the Google screen and then i have to do a battery pull to get out of there.
I hope you can help me guys because i cant even root my phone without a custom recovery. Ive tried rooting using the Nexus roottoolkit but it doesnt work... Apparently my phone also cant boot a custom boot.img because it also stays frozen at the google screen. My phone is unlocked...
Thanks!

fastboot flash recovery recoveryname.img not fastboot flash recoveryname.img. you have to tell it which partition it goes into.

Are you getting the boot loader screen? You should see the word start in green letters at the top.
If so then you may be flashing the wrong recovery.
If you have the right one try flashing the bootloader

Yes, the bootloader works perfectly... I´m flashing the recovery through there... I don´t think I have the wrong recovery, I downloaded it from clockworkmod.com/rommanager and I have the latest Jelly Bean 4.2.2

Could you try another custom recovery like TWRP. Might be an incomplete or corrupted download as well (Check md5sum before flashing).
I would download it directly from clockworkmod. Google it.
The make sure you put it in the same folder that your fast boot is in. Rename the file to recovery.img
Then at boot loader type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

I tried both of your solutions but still nothing, I really don't understand why it doesn't allow custom recoveries :S

Make sure your SDK/ADB is up to date. Older versions have issues with flashing files to the Nexus 4 that can cause your phone to get stuck at boot. If your N4 isn't booting at all, you might want to reflash the entire stock software using the download from Google's Nexus build page, after you've updated your SDK/ADB suite, just to make sure your partition tables haven't gotten messed up.
you could try downloadong the stock rom from google then flashall file.
then try to install the custom recovery after it reset

boot flash recovery recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-mako.img
sending 'recovery' (7560 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.475s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.402s]

but when I try to go into custom recovery, it shoes android bot icon with back open and exclamation mark.
Then when i ran
boot boot recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.3.1-mako.img
downloading 'boot.img'...
OKAY [ 0.475s]
booting...
OKAY [ 0.021s]

It booted into custom recovery, but custom recovery was never installed. Any help?
1. Rename CWM to recovery.img (not recovery.img.img)
2. fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

[SHARE][RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL] TWRP 3.0.0.0 + Root for Honor 7i/ShotX

Heres TWRP 3.0.0.0
https://dl.twrp.me/rio/twrp-3.0.0-0-rio.img.html
or
https://mega.nz/#!91ZnAaYA!htGK6PknbEd4twDPCsHQ31ZsmDAdKZ7qP_kFWsfSwC4
Since Huawei G8 is so similar to this phone it works
Remember this is for Honor 7i / ShotX and NOT for the regular Honor 7
Ive flashed it on my ShotX but if you are uncertain, please first try and boot it before you flash it onto your device.
Just type make sure adb developer is activated and you also need to check the setting that allows bootloader unlocking or else you cant flash it. Also remember to move the twrp-3.0.0-0-rio.img file into your adb directory, preferably just use minimal adb which is excellent for this type of job
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot boot twrp-3.0.0-0-rio.img
If it boots and everything works then you can reboot in bootloader again
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
and then type
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.0.0-0-rio.img
to flash the recovery permanently
And if you want root, simply flash this file (superSU.zip)
https://mega.nz/#!F05GXBoI!abpEgAI4WLuu0nraCpEpB5E2rXkIOIlHbepke5SH0cg
Now we just need some tweaked/alternative roms and preferably a nice kernel along with it

every times you want to change something like this on your Honor 7, you must unlock your bootloader if it was not unlocked until now!!! But be careful!!!
You should use the minimalADB tool too.
When i boot it it boots and reboot fine but now when i flashed i am stuck in it anyone help me ;(
I got it fixed by just flashing the stock recovery instead of full ROM.

If your firmware is SKU WW then download boot.img
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7F3ZXr565GkV2N3WjBoeEZXUUU/view?usp=drivesdk
You must have installed ADB SHELL on your computer.
Reboot to fastboot mode.
Command:
fastboot boot boot.img
Reboot system.
It will function only to the first reboot. If will all ok then again get to fastboot mode and command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img

Unlocked OnePlus 6T stuck in bootloader

Hello, my OnePlus 6T is stuck in fastboot mode, I'd like to install Oxygen OS (which I have the zip file on my PC) or install twrp on it in order to flash the OOS but here is the problem:
If I type the command fastboot devices, the phone is detected:

BUT, if I type fastboot boot twrp.img (with a command prompt in the folder of the file), I get this error:

downloading 'boot.img'...

Are you a t-mobile user? You're supposed to use the flash-all-partitions.bat file in order to flash the rom... What exactly have you done up to this point and what files are you using?

No I'm not a T mobile user, where can I get the flash-all-partitions.bat and what do i need to do with it ?
What have I done to get stuck in bootloader:
I unlocked my OP6T with the ALL IN ONE TOOL by mauronofrio
Flashed the TWRP from mauronofrio
But when I wanted to reboot the phone I figured out I was stuck in fastboot mode: if I try to boot in the os it boots in fastboot mode and same thing when I try to boot in the recovery
I don't know what happened..

I'll try to follow this guide, thank you a lot for your help, If this still doesn't work I'll tell you
1. Download the full rom
2. Put your device into fastboot
3. extract the contents of the full rom zip file
4. extract the images and the other flash zip file as well
5. run flash-all.bat, if that doesn't get you to boot, run flash-all-partitions.bat.
Id post your issues in the thread he linked. Specific to your device , most guys here in this thread are on tmo and it's a bit diff for us.

I see this worked for you and Id like to try it but im a bit confused about what exactly to do. Could it be possible to have a more detailed explanation of the step by step things you did to fix this? I tried eveything you tried at first and got the exact same error message. I suspect if it worked for you it will work for me but I need a little more direction I guess.

Not recognized by the PC how? Are you trying to use the fastboot command? "fastboot devices" does anything come up?
You will need the fastboot ROM here, most likely to fix this.
Your last resort should be the MSMTool. (Remember it will relock your bootloader)
My Oneplus 6T is stuck on bootloop from 6 hours+ I've tried to hard reset the device, i have tried Volume Up + Power button, Recovery mode, deleting cache, none of it is working.
I had updated using the Oxygen Updater, 10.0 update, and it is now stuck forever in bootloop.

after flashing the recovery you have to unplug the phone from the pc and manually boot twrp ..by holding power button and volume up ..
*if you don't stock recovery will replace twrp wirh original recovery ...
*also are you sure you are flashing twrp & not stock recovery ... usually posts about rooting post both
