Android rom dump? - Lenovo Yoga Book Questions & Answers

Hello,
Can anyone provide a dump of their Android rom or a link to a full OTA?
Would like to try to get it to dual boot on Windows version of the book.
Thanks!

if i'm not mistaken it would require root to make a full rom dump.
unfortunately we don't have root by now.

Remix OS
If someone could get Remix OS working with dual boot that would also be awesome Very keen for a dual boot solution and I think Remix OS would be a good fit for the Yoga Book. Although I'm not sure is the keyboard would work, would you need a driver for it?

Yep, that's what I tried already but the screen is rotated sideways (portrait) and the keyboard doesn't work... that's why I'd like to check the custom version by lenovo =)

hi...
does anyone have stock rom for YB1-X90L android Or how can i get it...
thanks in advance...:victory:

Anyone has been able to install Android on the Win Yoga Book? I love the functionality of Windows but sometimes it's a little laggy. I'd love to use Android for the daily stuff and use Windows for more complex tasks. I've seen that Lenovo posted he sourcecode of the Android OS for the YB. How can I install that on the Windows machine?

[Q] Lenovo Yoga Tablet 8 / 10 Open source, overclocking MT8125

Hi All,
I spotted Yoga Tablet 8 / 10's open source code on the Lenovo Support website.
I would like to overclock the MT8125 processor from 1.2GHz to 1.5GHz. I've tried Framaroot and Master CPU hopping to overclock the CPU. Unfortunately, it doesn't work as it doesn't allow me to change the maximum frequency.
My question is how can I extract the kernel from the open source? I read about flashing a kernel that support overclocking. Is it possible to customize the kernel to support overclocking?

If someone manages to do this, I will be eternally thankful to them, provide a celebratory wallpaper and chant their name all night long. (Well, actually just the first two, but I hope this doesn't discourage any potential devs )
Seriously though: I've been thinking about getting the Yoga, but I really think I don't want the stock ROM. Therefore I would love to see CM ported for it, and I'm willing to help (although not an Android developer, I am a programmer, I know my way around and can help with testing and perhaps some other stuff as well.)
Lenovo Yoga tab 8
Go for it it's a great tablet and once you get used to stock rom it's not that bad and you can always use go launcher if you want a different look only thing I would improve is the rom and processor speed
Yeah, we just got a Yoga 10 for our office that we won in a contest. As soon as I powered it up, I looked at it, and then went and immediately downloaded Nova launcher, set Nova actions to fast, then I enabled developer options, and and set all animations to .5
It is better now, but I would love to be able to a custom rom on here.

Wow.. thanks for that tip .. makes my yoga so much more bearable to use. If only lenovo had a better screen and stock UI.. they would have had a killer tablet...

I'm looking for the same thing. i would be happy with a near stock android rom even anywhere from 4.1 to 4.4
to get you started though, check out this post i made asking about it. i got some help and got TWRP recovery installed which is kind of a first step, but there are still no roms i can find for it. NANDroid backups can at least be made though so if you want to play around with xposed framework you can restore from a soft brick.

I have a yoga 10 and I am ready to test any custom roms which are (if) available out there. I don't mind bricking the device as I hate the stock ROM
Hi, is this thread limited to Yoga 8 wifi or for 3G versio as well?
.
No, both , I no longer have this tablet though as it was faulty so sent back

RemixOS anyone?

Hey guys,
has someone maybe tried to install RemixOS on the windows version of the Yoga Book? I would be interested if everything works well or if there are any drawbacks? I think if it's good enough for daily use we could get the best of two worlds - if you need it you could fire up windows and otherwise you just go with the (imho very exciting) RemixOS Android for x86 systems.
I tried to get Remix OS to boot from a memory stick but it got stuck on the Remix OS logo. I'm not sure if it is because it was connected via USB 2 and not USB 3.0, or if there is another issue. I also have a feeling if you could get Remix OS to boot the keyboard wouldn't work.

It boots but indeed keyboard doesn't work, so you cannot go further in the android initial setup. Also screen is rotated (sensor seems to not work) by default.
There's been an ota dump provided in a thread I started here if you also want to hack your way there.
What about now

Could we build a custom rom from the sourcecode provided by Lenovo?

Hi,
As the owner of a Nexus device, I am used to regular OS updates with included security patches. Since my Android Lenova Book has not updated yet, I started to look around
to see what could be find on the internets about that. I did not find much, but on the Lenove website I did find the Open Source Code for our Book.
http://support.lenovo.com/nl/nl/products/Tablets/Yoga-Series/YOGA-Book/ZA0V?tabName=Downloads&linkTrack=Mast:SubNav:Supportrivers%20and%20Software|Drivers%20and%20Software&beta=false
After downloading and unzipping it, to me it seems that these are the prop files you need to create a custom / updated rom. Since I am not that savvy on the subject, I only compiled a few roms, It would be nice if somebody could tell me if this is indeed the code that is needed to compile an updated rom and what steps should be taking to make this happen?

I, too, would love to see this happen.
I own the Windows version, but I've been flirting heavily with the idea of dual-booting. The major obstacle at the moment appears to be that Remix and the other x86 android builds don't recognize or support the halo keyboard. I'd love to have a ROM or something I could install to get the proper Android experience.
I'm down for this... providing my Book arrives soon (in AU so it'll take its time). If I find anything, or get enough free time to throw together a custom ROM I'll update. But I can't guarantee the latter (custom ROM from myself) as it will be a big learning experience.

Have you had a look at the current version of Android Lenovo provides? That certainly does support the Halo keyboard.

If you go to this post, I've helped someone in the same boat as yourself. Read through the comments, that should give you a tutorial on how to flash the ROM so that you have Google.

Yoga Smart Tab

Hello,
So I got a Lenovo Smart Tab (yt-x703f) and really want to flash TWRP to it, so I can flash LineageOS rom, but it seems like there's no support for it, or even a subthread on XDA.
(I tried various twrp images)
Anyone got some experience with that tablet and have something working?
Cheers
For some reason this device gets the silent treatment on all fora. I can't figure out why, this could be a great multimedia device with some adjustments. batt life is great as is the sound. Screen is ok ish and the speed needs to be tweaked, but no one is willing to tweak
You can root the device and even flash a GSI on it. Tested myself and everything is working
Yoga Smart Tab - Iron GreyPart Number: ZA3V0005US
Not sure if we are talking about the same device but lenovo does not support their mid tier devices with OS updates and would like to install a bloatless OS also pie is really dated and wondering if i will run in to issues with app compatibility. There is also that issue where it won't run HD in netflix because netflix is a static app and can not be removed and reinstalled. Hence bloatware and would love a clean google experience.

Flashing a GSI might help if the device supports Project Treble. Basically any device launched with Android 8 and above should support Project Treble.
Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga smart tab (YT-X705L) and I want to install a new rom on it. I’m not an IT wizard so I need help with that. Would you find anyone who can give step-by-step instructions from start to finish with download links.
And if you can find experiences on how anything works (which is GSI). Thanks in advance.

Aloha, I looking for any ROM to update my Lenovo B8080-F as well, however, at the moment I couldn't find anything relative to this even on Google. I just found this to Install a Recovery TWRP https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/recovery-twrp-2-8-7-0-touch-recovery-t3282520
We appreciate if someone read this and got any idea where can we find a ROM to update our old tables.
Cheers!
Does anybody have a link to a custom ROM for a Lenovo B8000? Seen the instructions to install TWRP but don't see much point in doing that unless there's a ROM available.

I'm looking too. It seems such a shame to let an old decent tablet like this go to waste...
