Tip: If fingerprint sensor swipe action stops working and you are rooted with Xposed - Honor 8 Guides, News, & Discussion

I noticed my FP sensor swipe action stopped working when I was charging via USB cable connected to laptop. After Revoking USB debugging authorizations in "Developer options" and rebooting the device all it good now. I hope this helps someone.

Good share... Is it particular for Honor 8 or for other Honor devices too?

This seems specific to H8. Didn't had any similar reports about other devices with xPosed.

USB assistance/problems - rooted

Okay, any ideas on why when i plug my Evo into any computer USB it charges, but it doesn't give me the menu to connect to it, it use to.
USB Debugging mode enabled, no there are no alerts in the notification menu. I have even tried changing the default preference on what to do.
Handheld is 100% charged. I have tried powering off and on, pulling the battery, went into fastboot and can get there....but i can't connect from pc...so SDK and access evo-recovery for nandroid options are a no go.
I am realitively new to this, and am hoping the experts and the community will be able to pull through for me.
Thanks
rooted and running 3.1.2 RvU with radio fix patch applied.
oh, and just to make it further clear, the handheld is working great aside from that...
(i also tried different cables)
Anybody??
Anybody else ever see this before?
Identical problem. It started after the phone crashed while on a call. Don't know how to fix it, but I'll let you know if I find out.
So, the problem appears to have fixed itself (since I can now select my connection type again). I read on another thread that removing the battery for about a minute could be a potential fix. For me, trying again after more than 24 hours of up time seemed to be enough.
Hope this helps you out...

Debugging bug

Under developer options there is a setting under "USB configuration" where you can set the default action when you plug into a computer via USB. The default is "charging". If you change it, it stays on "charging".

You can not live with having to swipe and press the screen twice on the occasion of plugging your phone into a pc etc?

Mac and V20 not playing well for others?

I can see my phone when I go into system report under USB but when I click to open Android File Transfer it doesn't see my phone. Updated driver and doesn't matter if debugging is on or off. ADB doesn't show it either. Never had problems. Unplugged my V20 and plugged my Nexus 6 and it found it right away. Any ideas?

Wear24 - Stay awake when charging not working

I would have asked Verizon, but I need a Verizon number to contact customer support.
I enabled the developer options on my smartwatch and toggled on the option to stay awake when charging, but the screen still turns off. It even turns off if ambient mode is enabled. I suspect it has something to do with dock mode overriding those settings. Is anyone else having this problem or found a solution?
Thanks!
Edit:
I found you can disable the charging app from settings. This prevents dock mode from starting, but doesn't keep the screen on. I found that enabling stay awake while charging in developer options keeps apps open but turns off the back-light. If you look very closely, you can see whatever is open faintly. Disabling it will go to ambient mode, but still switch off the screen.
I finally wrote a quick app to do what I want.

My screen still turns off with the app set to stay awake while charging. I have tried with the dev options enabled and disabled for stay awake while charging. Do I also need to enable debugging as well?

No. Mine works without debugging on or the stay awake while charging option. It also works fine with always on screen setting on or off. I'm assuming you are using the Wear24. If your watch was running Oreo it might be more aggressive about stopping the app, but I wrote a case for that.
Is the notification displaying? If you dismiss that Android Wear may stop the background process.
For me I'm unable to disable it it's on all the time while charging enabled or disabled

Looks like it is working correctly. I restarted the watch and it is now staying visible while on the charger. Thanks!!

Dude! Thank you so much for making this thing. You literally just solved the one thing I missed about my Moto 360 that was nagging me on the Wear24!

"Allow USB Debugging" window not popping up

Today is my first day with the 6T and I'm loving it so far, but I'm trying to use the Fluid Navigation Gestures app and even though I have USB debugging enabled in developer options and ADB installed on my computer, the window to "Allow USB Debugging" has never popped up. Can someone help me out?

Drivers installed properly?
If yes, You can try forget all the devices in developer options and try again.
Do you get a p in status bar? If so tap the info in the bottom right twice and it will bring up a second window
