Bass Booster - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've been trying different ROMs in an attempt to get a bass booster working. I have been using an old S3 with kitkat as a media player /sound generator. I use Relax Melodies and Bass Booster with great results. However, I can't get the bass booster on any ROM so far. I'm on WETA 7.0 right now but even Viper4Android doesn't make a difference. If it makes any difference I'm using computer speakers via the headphone jack. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If you play with Viper4Android settings you can get a nice bass booster. Try A.R.I.S.E. Sound System http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/r-s-e-sound-systems-auditory-research-t3379709 (latest Deuteronomy 2.3.3 https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=529152257862677226) and Dolby Atmos Add-On https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=457095661767104031

But ... come on guys can we actually boost the bass while achieving better sound quality at maximum volume?
Thanks for your share!

Regardless of what app I use, what headphones I use or any settings in V4A I manipulate I don't get any improvement in bass or any sound.

Then it isn't functioning. You need to check if it is processing and then possibly go to that forum to get more help. You can boost and adjust every aspect of your device sound and it is dramatic.

Exactly, check driver status

You probably need to use compatible mode instead of normal.

Which is the best profile setting for the best overall speaker sounds, both bass and mids

working sound mod with android 7.1?

Thanks But not apt-x right ? :/
Apt-x codec will not work on Defy. I have the previous MM550 without apt-x. Sound quality and bass is very, very good, but they're not very loud. In wired mode they sound a bit better than in BT mode. When you use these cans on a PC/Notebook with apt-x dongle, sound quality should increase

Galaxy s6 Sound Quality

I played a little with the s6 using Google music and Spotify and I found the sound quality to be a little worse than the note 4 and note 3 which I loved the sound even using it straight from the headphone jack. I used my trusty shure se 215 and ath m50 and I couldn't feel the bass and the sound was not dynamic at all, almost painful to hear, adapt sound did helped a little but I'd like to know what's the take of people in the sound quality department of this awesome phone.

It's supposed to be top notch. I never owned a Note 4, but I did own a Galaxy S5 and I don't notice any real difference. Did you check to make sure you picked the "Extreme" quality option in Spotify? I sometimes forget when setting up a new phone.

I just copied and paste the banner from my other thread. Link fixed.
Ui is very nice. But the only function that works for me is volume. No other button works. Note 4 w/Viper4android (arise sound mod) installed. Could that be conflicting?

Speaker Mod

As someone who has little experience in hardware hacking, I'm curious to know how we can improve or even replace the existing speaker? The stock speaker is painful to listen to and more than 50% volume due to harsh upper-mids and distortion. There is also a significant lack of lower end frequencies leading to an empty and often harsh sound.
I've tried playing with an EQ but unfortunately, reducing the mids or increasing lows results in a reduction of volume. It seems as though the stock speaker is incapable of producing lower frequencies and improvement would require hardware modification. Does anyone have experience in this field? I know the people at HeadFi.org often add a putty like substance around drivers to modify the sound; I wonder if this is something we can try. Ideally, I'd love to find a way to completely replace the stock speaker with something commercially available but obviously that would be rather complex.

I'm going to do some research into speaker and speaker enclosure modification but, in the meantime, if anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
umi super phone has nearly same hardware maybe that speakers are better
Here's a link to the UMI Super forum, that discusses mods to the speaker settings using Engineering Mode.
They may work on the Elephone as well.

OPPO Find X5 Pro Speaker Samples

The built-in speaker on the OPPO Find X5 Pro is impressive, to say the least. It is possibly one of the loudest speakers that I've experienced on a smartphone, with clear and full audio. With a stereo speaker configuration, the audio output is well-balanced from the top and bottom speakers. Boosted by Dolby Atmos, there are several audio settings to help tweak your experience for the best sound possible.

Audio SamplesTo help you experience the sound from this phone, I set up a simple audio test where I captured the speaker output with a high-quality microphone.
These recordings were made on a Zoom H4n Pro, in the environment shown below.
Vocals:
Sample 1 - Mid Volume
Sample 2 - Full Volume
Music:
Sample 1 - Mid Volume
Sample 2 - Full Volume
Dolby AtmosThe Dolby Atmos feature is available to toggle on and off when paired with headphones, and it stays on by default when listening through the speakers. To customize your audio profile, navigate to the Dolby Atmos settings menu in the Sound and Vibration section. Choose between an environment or scenario-specific profile.
Scenario-specific includes audio profiles for Smart, Movie, Gaming, and Music. The smart setting will automatically apply the optimal audio settings based on the usage scenario. The environment profile will change the audio based on your physical surroundings. For headphone connections, you have the option of Bluetooth and a wired USB-C setup.
[Thanks to OPPO for supporting this thread]
In all fairness what is the point of the "Gaming Profile" when it doesn't work, It only fires from the bottom speaker the top speaker doesn't work.
