i live in Hong Kong, so the phones have been available for sale here for about a week now.

I've read somewhere that MIUI 9 will be developed with the Mi Note 2 edges in mind in regard to features.

I tried this phone in Xiaomi Shop in Shanghai and I was not able to use an edge feature so I guess it will come in the future.
Edit:
I just saw this post on MIUI Forum

Youtube app needs some work

I find the Youtube app to be inferior to Youtube within the browser.
The Youtube app is always buffering during playback quite often.
You can only change orientation if the video is small. If you try to view a video in full screen, it can only be viewed with the camera being near the top. Some cases require the camera to be at the bottom. Therefore trying to watch a video in fullscreen will cause the video to be upside down.
I really hope that Google can release some updates for the Youtube app.
Right now it's just nice to looking at while browsing and searching through videos.
As for actual usage, it needs some work.

There's already a thread here about this. Best thing to do right now is to use that Feedback option under the app's menu to report to Google.

What is the thread link?
I came across another thread, but it was only in reference to buffering and not screen orientation issues.

[Q] Screen of the Galaxy Note

Hello, I've been on numerous web sites during these last days concerning the Samsung Galaxy Note and it seems that many people are complaining about the screen having some pink, green and blue dots on white backgrounds specially when watching videos.
Will that problem be solved if ICS sandwich is intalled on the note or is it a factory problem?
I'm was about to buy the Note but now i'm unsure, please help me out!
Thank you in advance!
I wouldn't read to much into these stores. I've had Samsung phones sgs1 sgs2 and now note. Never had any problems with any of them.
Sent from a noob on a new note
I don't have any such problems with mine and I don't know of anyone else with such problems either.

I don't recall anyone EVER complaining about that.
I assume it's the latest "X said that Y said that Z said......." trend.
Way more people are complaining about black crush/bad blacks, which is apparently fixed in ICS.

I've never heard or experienced the problem you describe!
The screen is just perfect! Nothing to worry about. Just go buy it and you will never be satisfied with any other screen again!

The camera produces, on low light conditions a pink/green dot in the middle of the display, not on the photos.
On videos using lower or higher resolution then devices native playback resolution 800p produces black squares on low light scenes with dark content. Example Rasty nails video on YouTube look it at the different formats and checked how they behave.

I spoke to Samsung directly about the pink dot on the camera. It would seem to be a design fault, and I feel the likely cause is the autofocus. it is only apparent under some lighting conditions and stills can easily be corrected with photoshop. Video is the same, but I have to say, that I have shot some amazing footage that out performs my now retired and sold semi pro vid. camera. Until I see ICS on my phone, I wont know if this has been fixed. (all digi sensors have defects that are mapped out via firmware). In all other respects the screen is perfect, brilliant even. If this bugs you, its not a smart phone your looking for, its a digital SLR that you need. If your happy with what I've said, you should not worry.

gallery app different from Int'l S3?

I was watching youtube videos on how the gallery app on the int'l S3 plays a short preview clip of all your videos before you even select one, on my sprint S3 all the videos are static, could it just be the file format? anybody else come across this?
I believe it's the video app, not gallery.

no its the gallery it should show a preview ... I noticed that in someones review video I was like WTF?!? yup maybe our s4 isnt snappy enough to do it :crying:
ya thats what I was thinking as well, i'm sure somebody will port it over from the int'l one eventually I just wish it was a standard feature. Hopefully it runs just as well on the S4 as it does on exynos
I wouldn't want my gallery to look like a gif-infested site from the 1990's. TBH, I'm glad they didn't implement it.
Also, our processors have the same benchmarks as the Tegra 3 and probably will until Android 4.1 comes out which should utilize all 4 cores properly. So if the international can do it, so can we.
the video app definitely shows a short preview... im sure if they could do it there, they could do it in the gallery... doubt it has anything to do with performance issues

No sir, I snapped it. Then saw this thread and uploaded it. I admit I might have been able make it better. I do agree the fact I can see the rain off to the left is amazing!

It's great. The night time shot was done manually in pro mode. In auto it came out too exposed.

Thanks! To be fair, he's super handsome and photogenic and makes every picture good. The slow motion (which my last phone did not have) has been my obsession as of late to capture flying video.
To my great embarrassment, I haven't even messed with the 4k recording. I do take a lot of bird video, but my excuse is I run a blog for my parrot and have some pretty steep limitations on video upload.
Took a couple macro shots, quite impressed with what I see (got the phone today)
(motherboard of the Galaxy S4)
The camera still has some issues with low light conditions; however, certainly a major improvement from any other Android device and on par with iPhone low light shots (though I would say Note 5 dominates during regular lighting conditions)
Also, for anyone wondering about the aggressive RAM profile, loaded up Hearthstone, Vainglory, Chrome, iFunny, and Pandora. No Apps killed. Seems to only affect some phones (or models?)

Yep especially considering its using the standard mode (I can only imagine the quality I can get if I take the time to set it up for macro in pro mode) and a regular desk lamp lighting.
