Antutu Scores - Google Pixel XL Guides, News, & Discussion

What are others getting on Antutu?
I've been playing with the Kernel and some upstream-patches and optimizations, and am now around 146K (without overclocking)

How are your benchmarks so high?

It's been about a year since any benchmarking threads have been created for the A500, and I'm interested to see how people are getting better performance.
I'm running Flexreaper v5 and I score around 6200 in AnTuTu. One other ROMs and other kernels I'm getting around 4300. However, the AnTuTu comparison charts show quite a few people scoring 7500+ with the A500.
How are people getting such high results?
Overclocking maybe?

Hoping for something a bit more specific. Kernel, ROM, CPU Frequency...
BTW - Mine is OCed to 1.5 GHz
Think I found one of the ROMs that's getting such high performance. I got the JB ROM from he would cannot be named, and this thing flies! 5600 in AnTuTu with no OC. Set GPU to 400 MHz and OC'ed CPU to 1.6 GHz, and that clocked in at 7225.

I'd be a little careful at 1.6. Runs a little unstable, and is only for benchmarks.

It looks like the new kernel allows clocking up to 1.68, so I have just left it at an even 1.6. I haven't run into any major instability so far (knock on wood), and I really like how smooth it is. I've finally been able to play Asphalt 7 smoothly (good way to blow off steam at work). Thanks, though.

[Q] Why is my N4 scored too low in AnTuTu?

Just bought the N4 today and test it in AnTuTu.
For the everything stock, it's scored about ~14000 (I've seen many other people with ~17000).
And now I've just rooted & changed the rom to PA 3.15 (16 Apr) and franco kernel Milestone 1 and the score is ~16000 (What I've seen is ~21000)
Is it normal (according to what I've seen, it's not). And what shoud I do then?
Thanks
My latest score are:
CPU: 5192
RAM: 3483
GPU: 8202
I/O: 900
** Just saw CPU float-point scored just 947, so what's wrong
I didn't do anything apart from installing the rom and kernel.
another pointless thread!
Is your phone lagging? Do you observe any performance issues?
If not, why do you care what score you get?
Just curious because other people get the score I mentioned above but for me it's not like others.

you get higher antutu scores if you run a bionic/krait optimized rom. if not, your scores are normal.

i do not know, i do not run paranoid. im strictly on rasbean jelly
it also can be that you are benching wrong or that you are hitting the thermal throttle. thermal throttle can be disabled. if you do hit thermal throttle, it automatically lowers your cpu speed until the device has cooled down.

Of course I do not care what these benchmarks will be, but I just curios that my benchmarks are different from others. That's it
I will post the result again when I think my phone is cooled down. Thanks again
Yeah pa is optimised. Try flashing a reset kernel, to get back to stock kernel which is needed after using a Franco kernel.
Test it on antutu with stock kernel just to see what you score.
Stock kernel+pa should get you a 20000+ score.
Go from there.

Sorry mate but how can I do that. Just got my N4 today so don't fire me

You've probably found it by now, but if not check the kernel threads, most have a reset kernel to return to stock kernel.
Benchmarks don't really get the accurate scores so it is not showing the true score of the device.

I only get about 17k on pa with Franco.
I have only got >20k by oc to 1.8 GHz but there is no point. Phone is lighting fast at 1.5

I get between 20000 and 21000 on a few roms with no overclocking. You might be getting lower scores because you have apps running, clear out your recents. Your phone might also be running at a high temperature (can cause performance issues).

Do you have any quick suggestion for fixing thermal throttling on N4...

Undervolt and raise battery thermal limits in etc/thermals.conf file is about all you can do software wise apart from turning off thermal protection completely.
su(press enter)
echo N > /sys/module/msm_thermal/parameters/enabled(press enter)
in a terminal emulater. this disables thermal throttle. to re enable, use a Y instead of an N or just reboot.

Low benchmarks on my Nexus 4

Okay, heres the deal, When I first got my Nexus I used to get benchmark scores of the range 17-18k in Antutu, but recently, since I've tried benchmarking, I've been getting scores of only 10k, on Paranoid android 3.15, PAC, and Xylon ROMs, all with the franco kernel r134. So today I decided to flash a stock, deodexed rom, my benchmarks improved, but only by about 4k, I'm getting about 14k consistently. When I checked benchmark threads people have been getting 18-19k on stock ROMs, any suggestions on how to get that kind of performance on my Nexus?
Probably not what you want to hear but my suggestion is to stop caring so much about what numbers some app spews out and just look at how well your phone performs in day-to-day usage. If I somehow managed to get a score of 20K on my HD2, that wouldn't make it a better phone in any way.

youre probably just getting heat throttled or you are doing something wrong.

True, but it's just annoying to see that it used to give better results about a month ago and now they are pretty crappy. I mean, even after overclocking to 1700 I couldn't get it to go over 12k.

It was just a little warm at the end of the test, not much, all the settings were default, and I had killed all the apps before running the test.
Try rasabear ROM.. Let the phone cool off and run it.. Should get 17+

Underclocking CPU Gives Better Benchmark Scores?

Hi,
I don't know if these benchmark applications are valid, but I downloaded AnTuTu Benchmark and messed around with my CPU frequency. At first, I maxed out the core clock speed to 1.3 GHz. Next, I set the maximum clock speed to 475 MHz. When I set it to 475 MHz, I get a better CPU score.
Something does not seem right. Any thoughts?
...and now you know why folks don't trust benchmarks.
There is a thermal CPU control. By overclocking, you are overheating, and it's underclocking to prevent itself overheating...

That was funny to read.
By overclocking, your in fact under clocking or so it seems.
Yes that can happen. If it gets too hot it will probably start throttling each core back which gives worse and worse scores.
Right now I have mine up at 1600Mhz and I get better scores than 1300Mhz but as well I'm running nearly the same voltages that 1300Mhz is.
Nice!
Interesting guys,
I guess I'll just leave it at default settings
Too bad I can't root my device .......

I made a bunch of (repeated) measurements with a CM10.1 nightly kernel (at various Fmax settings) and the results were quite squirrelly. When I get a little time, I'll make some more tests and post up the data.
BTW - if you were using TricksterMod are you sure you actually applied the changes? You didn't provide any numbers (your results) and it is not uncommon for Antutu to produce 10% different results in that benchmark from run to run (and much much worse at different Fmax values!!) - so is it possible you just mistook a random variation for a "change for the worse"?

Yeah would have to agree here. Between voltage and clocks you can really affect any benchmark score. I knits I've been playing with it. Though a swing of 10% in AuTutu is pretty big. I've had maybe a few hundred points at most.

Agreed. Who gives a damn?
If we're all using the same phone, I'd expect everyone to get similar results unless you throw it in the fridge.

Something about 53k in AnTuTu. How did you do up to 65k+?
Hi !
For me as far as i'm concerned, i don't like benchmark,it's useless ...
I habe underclock my 2 big cores (to 960mhz for example) and i prefer to have a better battery life without lagg (for call,sms... facebook...browser...many games .. It's useless to have a performant phone)

Close all apps, let it cool down, airplane mode it, perhaps changes the kernel governer while we're at it. I hit 69k before
This is my best score.
