Hello everyone,
i would like to know if lenovo warranty is working when i unlock the bootloader etc ... then i flash stock and relock the phone ?
Because my zuk z1 have a dead pixel, the famous fingerprint + home button not working anymore problem and i'd like to send it in warranty for repairing or change it.
Maybe someone already sent the phone to warranty and it worked ?
If i can have feedback it could be really cool

I dont know the technical side of it but you can contact customer care through chat...
**When i contacted they said warranty wont void..
But this is only for lenovo zuk z1 not for any other phone... And warranty policy may differ from country to country... In India it wont void

u can use z4root modified to root and unroot your phone.this can be found at modaco.
It's just an urban legend that rooting voids your warranty. You live in EU, so if the dealer tells you that rooting "removed" phone warranty, it means he's wrong. I also live in EU and we have some nice laws here. Just bricked one of my phones after rooting + downgrading Android. It was replaced under warranty (the dealer didn't want to do it first, but still replaced the phone when I told him that I know consumer rights).
the way i did when my vodafone smart 858 died on me (not due to bricking just a faulty device) installed a stock rom and the recovery and phone were back to stock no more root on the phone and no clockwork recovery were left hope that helps
N.B: im not sure if this method still leaves traces of rooting on the phone
Guys, rooting does NOT void your warranty (even if sellers would love it to happen).
The above poster is correct even if the shop states it voids warranty in my country there is a law that states a 2 year warranty on all products if you have consumer rights in your country dont be afraid to use them

Is there any official word on whether the warranty will be honored after we unlock the bootloader and root the device or not? From what I could gather, this is the case for most Mi devices but is there any confirmation that the A1 will follow the same as well? I couldn't find anything specific to this device so I'd appreciate it if someone could clear this out for me.

Basically, in my country (Slovakia) and I believe that it's in every country (or at least should be):
If, for example, dead pixels appears on the screen after some time, root procedure or unlocking bootloader has 0 chance of making them dead, so the seller has to prove that the root process made those pixels dead, which is nonsense obviously.
They can deny the warranty if you try to do something with the system itself and you hard brick your device, that's the direct outcome of you trying to play with the phone's software.
Remember, system can be easily unrooted and bootloader can be easily re-locked with no sign of doing such things (not like KNOX), so if you are really afraid of them denying your warranty, you can unroot and re-lock just before the warranty process.
New to the device, planning to root my device. Will MI honor the warranty after root if I flash stock rom before taking it to the service center ?

I soft bricked my device and it was rooting always into TWRP. Went to the miA1 service centre and told them the truth ( even if I didn't, they could see TWRP). All they asked for is proof of purchase and had to wait my turn for them to flash stock ROM (I couldn't do that as my PC is being win XP)
Free of cost. No questions asked. Thank you Xiaomi

Yours being a software problem, they flashed the stock rom even though you had unlocked it. Would they repair the device if it is a hardware problem?

Maybe it's a stupid question already made by many, I wanted to know if the warranty despite the bootloader is blocked after an update made with HWOTA and firmware is still valid, in case it was not someone thinks it is possible in the future to reactivate the warranty by canceling some counter?

Answer Is no, once you unlock the boot loader warranty is then voided. Even if you trick it and make it re-locked it will have a log/history that only service places can open up an read and that log will state you have unlocked the boot loader then re-locked it and a time and date. Which then tech person will reject warranty request. Since you have voided it. This is why never unlock boot loader during valid warranty time. When warranty on the phone has expired then you can do what ever you want with it since it no longer has a valid warranty.

in fact I have performed the procedure of updating the Vodafone VKF firmware VKY-L09C02B150 to the VKY-L09C432B175 version with the HWOTA folder on PC, because I needed to have the mirrorlink, available from the B162 version.
So the software has unlocked the updated and re-locked bootloader.

Hello dear friends.I have just bought a Redmi Note 7 by a 2 years warranty.I had a Samsung before and as we know they have knox so it doesnt matter if we unroot them again once we rooted.The service can check that and it voids the warranty.
-Now i want to unlock and root the phone to reach root files and modify them.But the phone has a 2 years warranty.So if i unroot and lock the bootloader again if it needed to be repaired by the service, can they understand that the phone had been unlocked before and they doesnt accept the phone as warranty terms?
if it is possible to unroot again and if it doesnt void the warranty i think to root it for better customization.

yeah you have just to use mi flash to go back to stock rom and lock it again

It's a simple thing . When user uses official way to unlock bootloader the OEM has its IMEI number , serial number and such so they blacklist your device from recieving any further updates/assistance ,if their policy says that they doesn't support unlocking bootloader. ( Asus doesn't support devices with unlocked bootloader)
When user uses unofficial way OEM doesn't have record of the bootloader unlocking State so user can Relock bootloader and claim warranty .
Simple as that. Hope it clears up the thing for you.
