Can't root or install recovery on Galaxy Grand 2 - SM-7105 - Galaxy Grand 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys.
Been trying for 3 days now to install TWRP / CWM recovery on my Galaxy Grand 2 SM-7105, running Android 4.3, but to no avail.
Here's what I did:
1- Using Odin I flashed root rom "CF-Auto-Root-ms01lte-ms01ltexx-smg7105" . I got PASS in Odin, (is this an indicator that the root is successful? Because if I entered Android after that, it seems unrooted from Flashify or root checker).
2- Without rebooting OR after rebooting the device, I run Odin again, and in download mode I flash the TWRP recovery.
3- Disconnect USB cable, remove battery, then boot into recovery, but I keep getting the message:
Could not do normal boot .
Odin mode
Current Binary: custom
System status: custom
No matter how many times I tried and how many method and Odin versions I used, the same result.
What could be wrong? How can I be sure that it is a problem in the installation of the root, and not in the installation of the recovery, or vice versa?
Appreciate your feedback !

[GUIDE][HOW TO] Reset Binary Counter

How to get your custom flash count to 0 to return your device for warranty.
I did this on p3110 jellybean 4.2.2
Should work on other versions as well.
Required: Root access, Triangle Away, Odin Mobile , stock recovery image
As you all know, to get root access you need to flash custom recovery which increases your flash counter. But you need root access to to get triangle away to work. If you have custom recovery, every time the device restarts it automatically counts customs flash to 1....
But as you know flashing samsung stuff will not count towards the flash counter
1. Restore your tablet to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283598
Now in your freshly stock device:
2. Root your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957160
This will increase your custom flash count.
3. Install Triangle away, Odin mobile.
4. Copy stock recovery image onto your device.
5. In Triangle Away, reset flash counter to 0. DO NOT REBOOT your device. At the moment your flash count is 0.
6. In Odin Mobile on your device, flash the stock recovery image. Your device is fully samsungified right now so flash counter will not increase everytime it reboots.
7. Odin mobile will automatically reboot once the flashing is done.
8. Your device will have a boot error which it will fix by itself (happened to me, not to sure it will happen to you)
Check your download mode on your device, it should say:
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: SAMSUNG_OFFICIAL
I attached stock recovery image from Jellybean 4.2.2;
I tested it on Jellybean 4.1.2 it works as well.
Thank You.
Please rename ur thread as [GUIDE][HOW TO] RESET BINARY COUNTER
It seems more friendly and good otherwise people will mistaken u as a noob asking questions in development section seeing ur thread name.
Thanks for the guide.
Good guide. :good:
Can someone post recovery img for p3100, stock 4.1.2?
---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------
You might forget to mention about unroot .
download rom e.g. from www.samsung-updates.com ; open the *.tar.md5 file and extract the recovery.img from there
If you are on Windows:
You can convert "recovery.img" by using Flashable-Recovery-Converter-P31XX-V1.7 into a flashable zip too (if you want to flash over CWM, PhilZ Touch or TWRP instead of MobileOdin).
Download and ectract trhe zip, put "recovery.img" into the same folder an run the "P31XX-flashable-recovery-converter.bat".

[Q] Lost recovery. Urgent help required.

I was trying to root and install TWRP on my grand 2. There's no official one available, so I downloaded unofficial .tar files of recoveries.
I used Odin to flash recovery
Odin shows pass.
And the recovery is still stock
I try flashing 5 different recovery .tars
Then I decide to root via CFautoroot
Still can't overwrite stock recovery
I try flashing recovery again now. Odin shows green. I turn off the phone and boot to recovery, the phone goes to download mode (instead of recovery) with a message on top saying
'Could not boot normally'
Odin works here, and the phone is now rooted.
Now the phone is rooted, but running without any recovery at all
And Download mode shows the software status as CUSTOM.
The phone, if booted up normally, runs without any issues. The issue is just that it doesn't have a recovery now.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
PS
I know all the stuff I need to know about flashing and rooting and installing ROMs, just need help in getting outta this problem !
it easy don't worry try to install this version of cwm via odin

Chainfire auto root FAILED Samsung Galaxy J3 SM-J320R4

Hello all.
I went ahead and downloaded the cf auto root tar for this phone and gave it a shot through ODIN. I followed all instructions, the model number and Android version matches the autoroot file.
I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 SM-J320R4, Marshmallow 6.0.1,
Build MMB29M.J320R4TYU1APE1. USB debugging on, OEM Unlock on, Verify apps through USB off. I go into download mode, flash the autoroot file, phone gets stuck at boot.
Recovery is not seandroid enforced.
It's impossible for me to access recovery using any method (pulling battery, Volup+home+power or Volup+voldown+home+power) I can only reflash stock at this point. So I've done that, reattempted root, tried different ODIN settings, all unsuccessful. Towelroot, KingRoot and kingo root all unsuccessful as well.
My questions
1) Why is it failing?
2) What does "RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCED" mean?
3) How can I pull the stock recovery.img off this device for Chainfire?
4) If nothing else, where can I find documentation on systemless root and other relevant info to cook up my own root method? Or I should ask, how does Chainfire do it? What do I need to know?
Hey thanks everyone for your time. :good:

It took forever to reboot. apparently the kernel was trying to hang. Ive still to get TWRP recovery to load, but we were given a big hint. I am crunching files right now, but my phone says it"s rooted, and I'll check more later.
