HiSuite Message Problem - Nexus 6P Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

When I view my Nexus 6P messages on my PC, some of the contacts will show a repeat of the same phone number in the previous messages. When I send a message, the same message will be received the same number of times the number appears. I have no idea what causes this. I can delete my thread and start fresh but eventually when I reconnect my phone and PC there will be multiple numbers again. I don't like having to delete my history of messages with the contact in order to be able to send a single copy of the message to the desired contact. Any thoughts on what is causing this problem?

MDA Doesn't Recognize Email/Txt Msg Recipient

Hi,
Weird problem. All of a sudden, whenever I try to send a new txt msg or email or reply to a txt msg or email, regardless of whether i enter in the number or email manually or from my contacts list, I get a message saying that the number or email cannot be recognized and if I'm sure I want to send the message. I click on Yes, and everything works fine, but how do I get rid of this message?
Is this something people know about? What could be causing this?
Thanks,

SMS messages count

I recently upgraded to WM6. I had backed up all my sms messages in Outlook on my PC which I copied back to my device. Since the device recognizes all the messages as new, it marks them as unread. The hassle is when you have to mark them as read. And you can't select all and mark them as read because if you try that mistake, your XDA is going to go to sleep and there is no telling when will it wake up. So once in a while, when I upgrade and I have to copy all SMS messages back to the device, I mark them read doing 30-40 messages at a time.
Sometimes, I have noticed that when you are done marking them as read, there is a bug in the software and screen status at the bottom as well as the folders list shows 1 message as unread. It also appears on the Today screen: "Text Message: 1 unread message"
Now, my question is, how can I mark all messages as read. One way is to hard reset the device and re do the whole process. I am sure that will work, but its a tedious. Is there any shortcut to it?
Oh and I moved all messages in the Inbox to the Deleted Items folder, now the Inbox is completely empty but it still shows 1 unread message. There should be a way to reset the count? Is there?
I have tried running the fixunreadmessages.exe utility on it. It reset the count of the Inbox to 0 but the Today screen and the folder list still show 1 unread message.
I had the same problem. I posted my solution (which i cant remember) on a thread on the forum just incase anyone else had the problem. Will try and find it.

Corrupt text message

Hi,
I have a corrupt received text message that I cannot delete in the conventional way (i have tried deleting the message, the thread, the contact etc) but it just stays there. it has no sent or received date associated with it so it just sits as my first text message and right winds me up. any suggestions?
Many Thanks
Murg
Is it from 129 or a similar short number?
No it's just a normal message from my gf that's just gotten corrupted somehow (possibly to do with myphone) where are text messages stored, can I force it to be deleted somehow?
They *might* be in
'\Windows\Messaging'
or
\cemail.vol
It might also be emails instead.

How to remove Send message link in contacts

Hi,
in all Android builds I have tried it is the same. When I go in certain contact which have several numbers, I also have Send message link for each number, even though some numbers cant recieve sms and such (home numbers). Is there a way to remove this and perhaps made it something like in WinMo to have a switch for default SMS number. Sometimes it is very confusing to find a right button for SMS and often make mistakes sending the messages to wrong one.

[Q] SMS / contact problem

I've had a problem sending SMS messages to one (and only one) of my contacts. Unfortunately it is the contact I text the most, so it's a real pain.
When I first set up the phone, it synced all the contacts from gmail and facebook.
Unfortunately this particular contact had their number on Facebook as ++44 (0) 7123 123456, which my phone stored as +4407123 123456 (which is incorrect as when you have the international "+44" you need to get rid of the 0).
I changed it manually on the phone to +447123123456, and my friend changed it on Facebook.
Now I can compose new texts to this person and they send ok, but whenever I reply in the conversation thread my message fails to send.
When I check the message details on the failed message it says "To: +4407123123456", with the rogue zero back in place, even though I can't find that zero anywhere in the contact entry.
I've tried deleting the whole conversation thread, but that hasn't helped. This problem happens in the stock SMS app and also in Handcent.
Any ideas how I can fix this? The incorrect number must be stored somewhere, but I can't find it
